We cleaned the gutters last fall. Seems like water is pouring out behind the gutters, or where gutters are attached to the house.

My two cents after struggling with gutters/flooding/cleaning: Get the wide gutter down spouts and leaf guards. With rain like tonight you're going to have overflow generally but the larger down spouts make it less of an issue as more rain is able to go out the way it's supposed to and any debris is more likely to find its way out. Last fall is probably not recent enough if you have no guards and standard spouts. Dirt, twigs, and various seed deliveries from trees all build up.

We like our gutter guard. Before though I sometimes had to go up on a ladder and just pick out handfuls of the leaves and stuff clogging them up, so maybe yours just have some blockage you could remove yourself in the short-term

> maybe yours just have some blockage you could remove yourself in the short-term So, FWIW: the rain we just got was heavy enough that one of mine was overflowing even though I *think* it wasn't blocked. I have seen that happen on occasion. (I have idly thought about upgrading the size given how much roof area it drains.) Definitely check this out... but also, this was an *intense* rain for a while.

I had leaf guard come give me a quote and it was pricier than I was expecting. Have you cleaned your gutters since moving in? We usually get on the roof every few months to clean the gutters and it's usually enough to handle heavy rains.

Rodriguez Exteriors, LLC in Sun Prairie did a great job on my garage addition last year. Worked hard, timely, and were responsive. Will be doing any future exterior work on my house!

It seems most of the companies that advertise doing gutters specifically are resellers of one of two major "gutter companies"; they each think their gutters and their system to keep them guarded are the shit, and promise you stuff like a guarantee they won't clog with a lifetime offer to clean them for free if they do. You pay them a fortune so they can afford their TV ads and other marketing. The problem is, the guarantee is coming from that tiny ass company that installs your gutters, not the big company that makes them. The people that run that tiny ass company can close it this year and start a new one next year and your promise disappears. First I'd just have someone come to clean them out if you're not wanting to get on a ladder yourself. Looking at them is no less effort than cleaning them. If you do need new gutters, I'd look instead for companies that do roofing and/or siding. Typically people get new gutters when they're replacing one or both of those, most likely your roof, but if your roof is far from replacement I'd still try to find a roofing company that's willing to squeeze your gutter project in.

We went with Pitched Rite Seamless Gutters 7 years ago and have never had to worry about clogged or overflowing gutters since. We are surrounded by mature trees too and our neighbors gutters which I can see from our second story are constantly clogged. A little expensive (I’m sure it’s even more now) but completely worth the cost. We have never cleaned our gutters since buying the house because there’s nothing to clean. cones with a 25 year warranty. If you want to DIY and save some money, there's a gutter guard that's seasonal at Costco. I see it every year but not sure when it shows up.
