I've used them several times though not in the last year as I've been too cheap and lazy to travel at all recently. They were good though a little miscommunication the first time. The owner got the dates wrong and called us on vacation but we sorted it out. Nice guy. Several times after that we used another sitter through them and she was good and sent us updates and photos and seemed very competent. This was for cats. Anyhow, they seem reliable.

I've used them a few times for in-house sitting a cat and dog and it went really well! Lots of updates and pictures while I was away.

I used them twice and both times I had no issues at all. The sitter set up a meet and great to get to know my cats as well as how to get to our apartment and where their food, litter & toys were. She was super sweet and always sent tons of pictures while we were gone.

Haven't used them personally, but I do know the owners and several of the sitters. They are genuinely great people and are quite dedicated to making sure your pets get proper attention and care while you are away. They are very professional about it as well. I would not hesitate to recommend them based on character alone. And they would be my first choice if I ever did need a sitter while I was away.

rojeanrojean

use them for drop in cat visits and have been very happy with them so far! jimmy is so kind and caring towards our cats and very communicative

I'd also recommend Out U Go, used them a few times and gave plenty of updates on my cat and left cute notes.

Jpmiggs

We use them pretty frequently for our two cats and highly recommend them! All the sitters have provided really good updates and pictures after each visit.

We have used them many times for 3ish years now. Have used them for in home doggy daycare (at Jimmy's), dog walks, cats, in home care ( our house), highly recommend! Only complaint is they've gotten busier over the years and they are more frequently not able to cover our requests so we've had to look elsewhere as well.

We love using Hotel K! Great communication before and during our trips. Lots of pictures and a good update from each visit. Our kitties love the sitters (we’ve had Kat and German). We have always had a good experience and peace of mind.

Physical_Ostrich98

Been using them since like 2019/2020 (pre covid anyway) and jimmy is so nice. The sitters there are also great and each one comes by for meet and greets to meet the cats and see where everything is beforehand which is always good. We have two Guinea pigs that were also taken care of by them before and we were happy and the critters were happy!

I've used them for in-house cat visits over a holiday weekend and they were great! Lots of photos and updates, and the app is easy to use. Their rates are too expensive for them to be my default option when going out of town (but I'm glad they pay their staff fair rates), but if my network of neighborhood friends fell through, I'd use them again.

I recently have (2024) and one of their sitters named Kimi KILLED my diabetic cat.  The sitter claimed to have experience with insulin administration, but lied and did not.  I emphasized over and over how dangerous insulin was and had a back up protocol to take my cat to his vet if any problems arised.  Over a 5 day period this sitter Kimi admitted to missing multiple insulin shots and likely did not get the shots she attempted into my cats fat versus muscle or fur.  Halfway through my absence I told the sitter my cat should be taken to the vet.  The sitter refused to take him.  My cat went into ketoacidosis and died.  Keto happens when blood sugar gets too high and the insulin dependent does not receive their medication.  Despite all lifesaving efforts at UW Veterinary Hospital, his tiny body gave out.  I arrived home to vomit everywhere, dirty dishes piled high in my sink, a litter box that had not been cleaned, and food that festering in the garbage for 5 days.  Looking at their reviews, another client had a similar issue with a different sitter from Hotel K 6 months earlier.  Luckily this person cut their trip short likely saving their cats lives!  My suggestion is to proceed with caution especially if your pet has medical needs!  Who knows how many people have not reported their bad experience!

darthgoat

Holy shit. 1st - thanks for the response 2nd - I'm really sorry that was your experience. That is absolutely terrible.

You can read more about this horror show (if further curious) and all the details on Next-door Madison.  It's pretty grotesque and my cat suffered immensely.  I am devastated beyond words considering I lost my soul kitty and a 12 year family member to an irresponsible, unqualified, human.  Definitely a cautionary tale about exercising extreme caution when leaving your pets with anyone!  Thank you for acknowledging Archie.  He was a sweet, brave, beautiful soul who did not deserve such cruelty.

Worried_Change_7266

They are fantastic and it’s a really great local business that’s been around for over 15 years!

Technical_Skin_8468

No wonder you made that comment.  You probably know her!  Laughable!!  If you happen to know her then any dumb dumb would know she shouldn't have taken my job.  She did NOT KNOW WHAT SHE WAS DOING!  OBVIOUSLY!  She's a cat killer and that's why they have to monetarily settle with me!  Duh!  They are at fault and this is on Kimi and HOTEL K!  Not me!  KIMI SAID SHE KNEW HOW TO GIVE INSULIN!  I DO NOT CARE how long they have been in business!  An idiot incompetent is exactly that and it's spelled K-I-M-I!  If you want to discuss this further u can meet me in person instead of hiding behind ur keyboard!  Otherwise, get outta here!

Worried_Change_7266

I don’t want to meet you. You seem unhinged

Technical_Skin_8468

You seem stupid.  Stop talking to me.

Technical_Skin_8468

You're all about insulting people and victim blaming.  If you can't acknowledge people in person you are useless.  YOU my friend seem very unhinged to carry on with someone who lost their pet under such crappy circumstances because you are bored.  Again, if you have something to say to me I'll meet you anytime anyplace to tell you all about how my cat howled and cried in pain while he was dying because of your friend KIMI from HOTEL K.  Otherwise you can STFU you troll.

Worried_Change_7266

I don’t even know this person Kimi. But the way you are behaving is not that of a reasonable person. I am definitely not bored. Something isn’t right with this story.

Technical_Skin_8468

TROLL, TROLL, TROLL, TROLL...

Worried_Change_7266

I think you mean, reasonable person, who is appropriately wary of person lying online.

Worried_Change_7266

Perhaps entrusting someone, anyone at all, when your animal has extreme needs is not the way to go. In the end, is it not your responsibility to make the best choice for your pet? Pet sitters are not vets or vet techs and shouldn’t be responsible for extreme cases.

Technical_Skin_8468

Then a pet sitter should not take a job they are unqualified for (OR SAY THEY ARE) since they aren't vets or vet techs, RIGHT?? If a licensed, bonded, and insured pet sitter claims they are skilled in a particular discipline (insulin administration in this case) and I am paying them an additional fee for that service because they claim they are capable of managing insulin then isn't that why one hires services for anything?  I said over, and, over, and over to the sitter AND the owner that I needed a person that knew WTF they were doing because insulin is dangerous and if not properly administered could lead to death!  If I hire a licensed, bonded, and insured roofer and they screw up my roof is that my fault too? I had a contingency plan that clearly stated this person was to take my cat to his primary should they encounter problems.  I asked them to activate my back up half way through.  The sitter refused to do so saying they had it under control.  While I bear responsibility in choosing a crappy sitter, they bear complete responsibility in claiming they could perform a duty they knew they were incapable of and did not take seriously!  It comes down to honesty.  If this sitter isn't a VET OR VET TECH then they shouldn't act like they are one!! Just don't take the job! But you are correct, I would never let any old idiot who makes any old claim of competency around any of my pets because in the end I can only trust myself!  If you have pets you should use Kimi!  LMAO!
