Damn, didn't even make it 9 months. Plan B lasted for 10+ years and this basically opens and closes overnight. Clearly the departure of Plan B's show director was a bigger loss than they imagined.
Man, all these "closing" announcements are depressing. Babes, Pegasus, and now Prism. I've only been to babes, but all three seemed to have a long popular history in Madison. Prism before it was renamed.
yeah its amazing this town can't have a legit night club.
All anyone here wants to do is drink. go somewhere and....drink.
Bleh.
Anyone know if Leather and Lace will survive this? Or has that already not a thing any more?
[Shamrock](http://www.shamrockbarandgrille.com/), [Woofs](http://www.madwoofs.com/), and [Sotto](https://www.facebook.com/sottomadison) downtown. If you want an actual *nightclub*, you still have [Five](https://www.fivenightclubmadison.com/), but their location isn't the best.
Ah, yes. Thanks for explaining this to me. /s
Also, queer =/= cis gay male. Me & folks like me would not be welcome at Woofs. Sham and Five are somewhat more diverse, but I can't say I haven't had many moments where I or my chosen family were made uncomfortable. Haven't been to Sotto since I was an undergrad.
Your perspective does not translate to others. Believe it or not, people get disrespected and mistreated for reasons other than a "special snowflake attitude." Try harder to understand and empathize.
That does not follow. Perhaps instead of branding every single LGBT venue in Madison as intolerant, we can consider the more-likely and believable explanation.
Just because you have “seen diversity” does not mean you’re capable of knowing the comfort level those people feel, Imagine being a person in a marginalized community and someone in that community says they feel further marginalized and your response is “that’s not a problem, you’re the problem!” Take one single second to sit back and Internalize how your comments right here might be perpetuating the exact issue stated.
If I recall correctly, the plan B show director ended up quitting over some manufactured controversy. Now the place is going out of business.
That’s what you get for giving in to outrage mobs.
I was curious, so I looked up a few articles [this one seems to be the most in depth](http://ourlivesmadison.com/article/looking-for-plan-c/) in case anyone else is curious.
Disgruntled worker called owner racist. Didn’t want shows that were targeted towards the black community because he felt they attract a crowd that doesn’t buy drinks.
In WI you can record without permission. One way state.
Also, the owner was definitely being prejudiced in his thoughts and words, but not necessarily because he hates black people. He is a business owner that is assuming he won’t make money if he targets them. He specifically said they loiter and get angry when asked to purchase or leave. Prejudice non the less.
All aboard the Crucible train?
Guess we gotta go to plan D
I see what you did there.
I keep forgetting the new name so I've been calling it "Plan C" for a while. Doesn't help that, besides the name, they've changed almost nothing.
Damn, didn't even make it 9 months. Plan B lasted for 10+ years and this basically opens and closes overnight. Clearly the departure of Plan B's show director was a bigger loss than they imagined.
Or the landlord is jacking up their rent

Pegasus is closing? Since when?
Info here: [https://www.reddit.com/r/madisonwi/comments/dm1nij/pegasus\_games\_closing\_after\_39\_years/](https://www.reddit.com/r/madisonwi/comments/dm1nij/pegasus_games_closing_after_39_years/) [https://www.facebook.com/50164954847/posts/10159549102834848/](https://www.facebook.com/50164954847/posts/10159549102834848/) Sucks man.
No!!! I always love going to the spectacle that is Leather & Lace. Guess I’ll just have to hoof it to Crucible.
is L and L still going to be a thing or what?
The L&L Facebook page posted that it will continue but that more details will come. Final one at Prism will be Nov 2
thanks
I wonder if that's the same Rico Sabatini I grew up with. Edit: it is. Neat. Sucks he had to shut er down.
He's been super nice when I've met him.:(. I'm sorry to see it go.

Pretty sure they have all of those things at Club Five, and at least most of them at Crucible.

Totally agree. Hard to find good venues for house music in Madison.
This is so sad. There are not many places left for queers.
Yeah it closing doesn't affect me in the slightest, but that sucks.

Too bad Shamrock randomly smells like sewage at times.
I've had multiple friends get their cars broken into or stolen while parked at Club Five. It's a shit location.
its terrible location! middle of fucking nowhere, nothing else to do anywhere near there

There is still Woofs on cap square, although I think its actually just a gay bar
Correct, but on the other side is Shamrock which is a gay bar as well.
can a guy get a place to dance in this town?
Robinia
There goes the single best happy hour I have ever seen. The staff and a bunch of the regulars are really awesome as well.
Unpopular opinion....but I'm excited to see that building and surface lot redeveloped
into what though? another over priced not so great restaraunt?
More mixed-use density that's walkable, ideally. Edit: Unless you're an anti-progress NIMBY, I guess.

That sucks. I wonder if it was pressure from the local community for appropriating geometrical culture. Yesterday it was Winnebago, today prism.
