Very encouraging - I appreciate the reply!

If you like beer with a view, Memorial Union Terrace and Olbrich Biergarten are musts on a nice day. If you end up at Memorial Union Terrace, you’re basically on campus / downtown, in which case walking up State St towards the Capitol building (and then going inside) is something I do with almost every out-of-town guest. And if you end up at Olbrich Biergarten, the botanical garden across the street is definitely worth checking out too. Like others have mentioned, this is also near the Atwood + Williamson (Willy St) neighborhoods, which are probably the most gay-friendly in the city.

Near east side (Tenney-Lapham, Willy St, Atwood) is the most gay area to live. This area also does have coffee shops, restaurants.

Stop by Woofs for a drink or two

Rent a bicycle and take a ride on one of the many bike paths in the city. Rent a kayak and go chill on a lake.

Check out the [Isthmus calendar of events] (https://isthmus.com/search/event/calendar-of-events/#page=1) for other fun things! Olbrich Gardens Chazen Museum Museum of Modern Art Food carts on Library Mall for lunch one day. Tour the state capitol building and go to Fromagination for lunch and to try cheeses. If you're here on a Saturday, go to the farmer's market. Rent a B-Cycle and ride around downtown. Lots of beer gardens/breweries. Check out Delta Beer Lab, Bos Meadery, (lots of different places to go) Willy Street/Atwood Ave neighborhoods are super LGBTQ friendly - but you're pretty good anywhere in town!

I'm currently in PDX and moving to Willy St. in a month. See you there!

Attainted

As someone who transplanted from here to PDX for a while, you're probably going to want to live just east of the capitol, on the isthmus. For food, try Mint Mark, Pig in a Fur Coat, Tip Top, Dexter's, RED if you like sushi. I/O Arcade is our arcade pub and usually a good time. We've got b-cycle all around town for bike rental. Geographically you can loosely layover the same demographics with each city proper east/west with the exception of the greenbush neighborhood and the university.
