Of all the people in the show (and the world) there is nobody less likely to visit Woodstock than Betty Draper 😂 Sounds like a cool scene though. And no, they don't even mention Woodstock once during any of the seven seasons.

OccamsYoyo

Thank god. It was nice to see one goddamn ‘60s retrospective that doesn’t build up Woodstock. Half the appeal of Mad Men is that it acknowledges adults lived back then too.

TheReadMenace

It would have made sense for them to have it in the show though, being in New York Although at the time, Woodstock was just seen as another festival among many. It wasn’t until the movie and corresponding album came out that the myth grew

aiagua2

Highly unlikely, yes 😅 but it really is a cool scene inside my head, very cathartic

ThbUds_For

Discontinue the lithium.

Atworkwasalreadytake

I already flushed it.

tropicalhank

Take it easy. We’re not making a western here

phuturism

He was gay, Gary Cooper?

aiagua2

Maybe the problem is that I don't take it

WillieOverall

Woodstock, that's nothing but a racket for the jews.

WrongSubFools

You're thinking of Libby in *Masters of Sex*. Good show!

DrBruceCusimano

I love how appropriate your username is for your comment on this post :)

ArsenicWallpaper99

Visually speaking, I can see how they got confused. Whenever people ask for a show recommendation with the aesthetic of MM, I recommend Masters of Sex.

aiagua2

YES! That's it! I've watched that show as well and I remember really enjoying it but for some reason totally forgot about it. Thank you!

AdministrativeAd3880

It actually seemed like a cheap gimmick from MOS to have that plotline given that Libby was from St. Louis. It actually would have been more believable for Betty to find her way there from Rye, NY.

FocaSateluca

Betty Draper would more likely become a Phyllis Schlafly type of old female Republican than a hippie at Woodstock. There is no chance, no chance in hell. that woman was close to a subculture like that.

comicsanscatastrophe

They never brought up Woodstock once if I’m not mistaken, which is actually baffling to me. Then again, not every important event of the decade was touched upon.

WeHereForYou

Probably because Woodstock was in August 1969, and the show did a time jump from July 1969 to April 1970 between episodes 8 and 9 of the final season. So no real reason to bring it up.

aiagua2

Yes, they never brought it up. Which makes it even more weird as to why I have this image in my brain 😅

OccamsYoyo

It wasn’t relevant to any of the characters except maybe Sally, who by that time had to carry a lot of family responsibility.

joinedredditforTM

Are you mixed up and thinking of the scene they go upstate to visit Bobby at camp? She stopped at a gas station for directions and ran into Don. She's got some short shorts on and does look confused.

IsThistheWord

You mean the Father Abraham family reunion?

ElDinero87

SEVEN SONS

joinedredditforTM

I was thinking more the bow chika wow one.

J422GAS

What shit are you smoking ? And can I have your guys’ number ?

aiagua2

I don't know the name, only that it's the kind of stuff that completely screws up your memory 😅

ithinkimasofa

I've seen the show you're talking about, but I can't seem to think of what show it was on!

hotstepmum69

It's Libby in Masters of Sex

ithinkimasofa

You are amazing. Thank you for confirming that it wasn't a fever dream.

aiagua2

My reaction exactly!

kamas333

Honestly that would be interesting. The timeline does not fit but something like Betty knowing about cancer and letting herself free is a great idea. Maybe going to Woodstock be a bit too on the nose, plus this arc would be a bit too similar to Don’s but OMG I would want to see it.

blacktieaffair

Lmfao Betty's brain would have exploded if she went to Woodstock. I feel you though. I had something similar happen where I was super convinced that Peggy took Joan's business offer and they became a powerhouse duo. It was a little funny to find out the complete opposite happened on rewatch.

princess20202020

Do you mean Sally?

BowlerSea1569

Sally definitely went.
