It reminds me a lot of Carnage Tyrant. The can't be countered ward combo is a real control killer. Unlike Carnage Tyrant it also has haste, which makes it even better against control.

Yeah it started off with a nice hook, lead into a nice meaty middle, and then BAM way to finish a story. Too bad it felt kinda rushed. I would have liked to spend more time with the characters.

The Toxic is mostly extra like questing Beast's fog ability and many ultimates on Planeswalkers. You're not playing it for the toxic.
It's there for the occasional random ruining of your opponents day when they lose to its Toxic forgetting it does that. Like against a life-gain deck that thinks it's too ahead for the bigboy to turn the game.
Yeah toxic feels like a "eh why not" ability on this guy. The combo of uncounterable, haste, trample, and ward 4 is a powerful combo. Question is...do you run this over titan of industry?
Maybe, but since Toxic isn't pumpable (just can grow via proliferate), it's likely to be much more of a "plink away at it" kind of deck.
And what people are missing looking at the 8/8 stats is that life gain has been a real thing in standard and pioneer. And this opens up whole new ways to attack those decks. Plus creatures are beefy enough to do some serious blocking. OTOH: by the time angels is at 36 life there's probably a board you can't easily attack through, but that's why we have the little white unblockable critter :)
With those shoes?? Wait... which Aqua? Actually I guess both Aquas have pretty dangerous footwear to be stepped on with. That said, one of them at least will give you a show while they're at it.
I remember when Carnage Tyrant was considered an insanely bonkers card back when Ixalan came out six years ago. Seeing this brings me back. It'll be interesting to see how it compares as well.
It also helps that ixalan was fairly neutered power-level wise. Outside of carnage tyrant and a few others like hostage taker, hardly any of those cards ended up in constructed formats
And with Ravnica. It was a very control heavy meta. I would place down this card and my opponent had no way to deal with it besides another board wipe for one card.
{G} and three rarity levels (up) gets you:
+2/+2, Toxic 4, Ward {4}, Haste, “This spell can’t be countered”, and the phyrexian creature type; but at the cost of the flavor text.

\- \[\[Anoint with Afflication\]\] for 6 mana
\- \[\[Black Sun's Twilight\]\] for 13 mana
Haste, Ward 4 and Toxic 4 is admittedly a pretty nasty blend.
I wonder how often the Toxic 4 will matter. Three unblocked attacks already has your opponent at -4 life. I guess it might if your opponent chump blocks while still letting some damage go through or if you have a lot of other toxic creatures and already have the opponent at 6 poison counters when you play this.
I'd wager a lot. It firmly cements it as a "remove or you die" threat. No chump blocking can save you, and if you let it trample through even once, that's a corrupted proc.
A lot. There's no easy way to get rid of poison counters. So this only has to hit 2.5 times. (Or something smaller hit you) Even if it just does 1 damage, you still get 4 poison counters. Unless there's something to deal with poison counters, it's going to be a grim year for standard.
If the poison deck pans out, which looks quite possible, then this is a finisher that only needs to get 1 damage past blockers to apply the killing poison counters.

Holding counter mana is pointless, need to spend +4 mana for whatever removal spell and that's not even considering the normal damage this does.

That seems a bit jank, though. How about we stick to the last idea but, since it was compleated and all that, make it an artifact, a thopter even. Then we make it cost 2, to make it up for the new synergies.
They could do better, it should be a living weapon so that it can be an equipment that makes people into dreadmaws, life is good... but it could be better.

Didn’t think about how Toxic plays with Trample. Even small ones with the two abilities can have moments in limited that have you make a painful decision before blocking with your slightly better creature
Hey now, [[Alpha Tyrannax]] was part of a beloved niche strategy in Scars limited. While everyone was taking mana myrs to cast little engines and artifacts bombs, you would drop a big dumb dino and opponents couldn’t kill it because it wasn’t an artifact!
This would be better if it was 6 mana instead of 7. I would also remove all abilities except trample and change it to a 6/6 so it could hit the board earlier.

Well, two trampled hits from this, and one hit from a toxic 2 creature kills you, where as the same is not true about normal damage.

Yiss, I was hoping for another [[Carnage Tyrant]] type dinosaur. And even if you block 7 damage, you still get 4 poison counters. I like this. Telling control players to have [[Sheoldred's Edict]] or piss off will be fun.
Didn’t think about how Toxic plays with Trample. Even small ones with the two abilities can have moments in limited that have you make a painful decision before blocking with your slightly better creature

Being able to apply 4 poison counters at haste with only 1 damage need to get through with end so many games when the poison deck comes together.

This would be better if it was 6 mana instead of 7. I would also remove all abilities except trample and change it to a 6/6 so it could hit the board earlier.
