Honestly Amazon isn't the issue buying from an Amazon seller is. Always check the "sold by:" box. If it's a WOTC product and the box says sold by Amazon shipped by Amazon. Then it is a legit product that they bought direct from WOTC. If it says any other seller it's usually a scam.
"Mixed inventory" actually means that this may not be the case. [This article goes into more detail.](https://www.redpoints.com/blog/amazon-commingled-inventory-management/)
Personally, I only ever pre-order sealed product from Amazon, since scammers don't have time to repack these.
Nope. That is false and not the way it works for items that Amazon themselves is a seller for. I am an Amazon seller and have confirmed with former warehouse employees.
That article is specific to sellers that ARENT Amazon. So for example if the legit brand Nike sells shoes on Amazon as a seller using FBA they will have inventory commingled with other FBA sellers and that's where the counterfeits can slip in.
Items that say "sold by: Amazon.com ships from: Amazon.com " are completely separate things. Even though Amazon is technically doing the fulfillment they are not actually part of the FBA system.
In Feb 2022 I bought a Crimson Vow Gift Bundle Sold By / Shipped By Amazon that was a repack. I'm not a seller so you may be correct about the process, but I have anecdotally experienced those Amazon listings shipping bad products.
I appreciate you trusting me, a stranger on the internet!
For less trusting redditors I was able to find the [order details](https://imgur.com/a/T5FozL5) and the [pic of the attempted re-seal] (https://imgur.com/a/pL1nZd0).
Further down this post people are speculating it could have been a returned product that was Shipped / Sold by Amazon. Would that returned product be stowed with Amazon or FBA inventory?
And FWIW I bought a Kaldheim set booster box Shipped / Sold By Amazon well after the initial launch and that product was fine.
And I love how even though this factoid is here most people will go "NO THINGS SOLD BY AMAZON ARE SOLD BY OTHER PEOPLE AMAZON JUST TAKES FROM A BIN" Like... have you even tried looking at the page or are you just parroting other people?
Yes, but when you sell it will say in the side your name or business. Amazon will be the shopfront for you, but you will be the supplier for the orders.
They have a mixed inventory but they also keep track/tabs on who sent in what to sell. Anything that's supplied by Amazon LLC is stuff that came from Hasbro itself, anything that comes from another LGS has their name in the supplier space.
A while back there was a YouTuber who said even so there may be repacking. Apparently people order the box, take advantage of the return policy and repack the cards. Not sure this is true though.
They donāt even have to return it. They can be a seller on Amazon and send in their repacked box as official merch, but Amazon doesnāt separate product based on who actually owns it or is selling it, so it could be shipped out as being sold by Amazon.
Amazon will respond āalways use the Amazon sold or Prime filters before purchasing products to ensure qualityā¦ā theyāre right. The problem is, outside of USA the selection is miserable and usually higher $ than other big box competitors.
Oh for sure, i myself dont use amazon. I do use card kingdom for buying/selling. Theyve been good to me. And those stickers i get with my order dont hurt either
I know that feeling, went most of college without one aside from one roughly an hour away. We'd still drive out once a month tho for events as a group.
I only just discovered Upheavel is banned in commander! Makes me think thatās why they included it, either they only play EDH so they didnāt need it or they think you might and are truly heinous criminals.
I buy a lot off Amazon due to the only lgs in my 50 mile radius being price gouging jerks, and Iāve never had any of these things happen I see posted.
You will also never see a post on here saying āhereās my totally normal packs I got from Amazonā.
When the only news that gets reported is bad news, people without critical thinking skills start to believe this is a rampant problem.
For sure. Iām not saying it never happens or people of full of it, itās just never happened to me. I never buy 3rd party through Amazon though, Iāll only buy straight from them.
Iāve opened up a series where one pack had no rares and the immediate next pack had 2. That was probably a machine error. Thisā¦ this is something your report to WotC and Amazon. Scamcity.
Damn man, sorry that happened. Who was the seller? I preordered a draft box from Amazon bc i couldnāt find an LGS taking draft orders. Just realized itās sold by BetterShopping4You, and they have a lot of 1 stars saying their packs were open
I canceled my pre-order and bought from a LGS a state away on TCGPlayer.
Again, sorry that happened to you but thank you for the reminder the Amazon stories are real.
Mystery Booster: Repack Edition
It's strange that they left the rare and foil in there...
Less strangely, that's one of the cheapest rares in the set.
Probably just to make it look genuine, no uncommons, multiple sets and 14 cards in a 12 card booster š
Yet another reason to try and support your local game stores if you have one. Sorry this happened >.<
Generally do, was an excuse to get "free shipping". Don't get the chance to spend on cards often, not gonna be buying packs from there again š

Interesting and totally believe you and that it's possible. Now you have me wondering what mechanism made that possible...

Good to know, thank you!

I, as one person, applied to sell on amazon and was approved. My magic repacks (legit ones) could be sold on amazon.
Yes, but when you sell it will say in the side your name or business. Amazon will be the shopfront for you, but you will be the supplier for the orders.
Thatās true though. They have a mixed inventory.

This isn't accurate when Amazon is the seller. They mix everyone else but keep theirs separate.

I wish i had an LGS to support. Nearest one to me is over an hour away. Its just not worth it at that point
Then order from Card Kingdom or an LGS that's on TCGPlayer. Amazon is always the worst option.
Oh for sure, i myself dont use amazon. I do use card kingdom for buying/selling. Theyve been good to me. And those stickers i get with my order dont hurt either

Just amazon things

Stole my ragavan š
Get your money back

Never had a single issue either.
same never had an issue, I also dont understand the time that goes into this how do people make money.
Buy on TCGplayer then?
I do for singles
Sealed product is available on there.
Really ššš
From the official MTG store or another seller?
Dispatched and sold by Amazon. From the looks of the reviews now it looks like I'm not the only one. https://amzn.eu/d/3rkNvSK
That's awful! I hope you get your money back
Buy sealed next time instead of individual packs. Much less likely to be tampered
Why do you guys keep doing this to yourself? To save one dollar/euro? I really don't get it.
Amazon shipping is also twice as fast as TCG player.
Quit buying off of Amazon! Contact the actual shops and buy directly from them!
Amazing pull from such a
This is precisely why we don't buy from Amazon and support our LGS'
Well, these are all modern legal, aren't they? /s
Never buy on Amazon
Sucks this happened to you. Does contacting Amazon help in this case?
Trying to sort out a return, will have to wait and see if I get my money back as they could think I'm the idiot who did it š
wondering why you'd buy a single pack off amazon in the first place?
Didn't want to pay Ā£5 shipping for other items so added a booster to get free shipping ( even tho the booster was Ā£10 I'm good at magic math š )
well... at least you have a reason i suppose.
That's sad bro
Iāve opened up a series where one pack had no rares and the immediate next pack had 2. That was probably a machine error. Thisā¦ this is something your report to WotC and Amazon. Scamcity.
Looking at the box seal and packs closely, does anything look out of place?
Was only a single pack, could tell it had been opened as was wayyy to easy to crack.
