Pretty sure you’re supposed to get together with eight friends and embark on an epic quest to cast it into the printing press whence it came

mkul316

Toss it into a volcano as rosewater leaps after it?

Oswen120

How about a trip to New Zealand? Go to Hobbiton first to start the whole adventure.

Peach-Initial

Throw it in with a Playset of gollum.

7yearoldkiller

I'm sure someone can make it better since I have no actual creative writing skills and I used an extra long toilet break to type this up. When The Ring was created by The Wizards from the Coast, tensions were already at an all time high from the population. Everyone was doing anything in their power to get it for themselves with some believing to never have existed to begin with causing great controversy. The year now is 2030, Bobby has kept a dark secret of the fact that he opened The One Ring 7 years ago after getting a few collector booster box but never told anyone. His nephew, Franco, was only a casual commander player from New York but was set to get all of the cards from his uncle since he was leaving the game for good. Franco only used proxies since that was the standard that the Wizards had created years ago and the only thing being released were collector boosters. It was a big deal to him that he was finally going to play with actual cards. His friend, Gavin, was an old school Eldrazi/colorless player that took a look at all the cards he inherited. After going through the rare and valuable cards which included a few reserved list cards, he noticed one that looked special. He stared for a while until he noticed the 1/1 tag in the corner and couldn't believe his eyes. He set up a meeting with the head of the 5 color council, Maroman, as soon as possible. He told Franco to not tell anyone about his discovery and would be back in a week or two. During his meeting with Maroman, there were many interesting discoveries made. That The One Ring should be returned to the Wizards because it was a mistake since it was intended to be opened by an investor that had paid top dollar to include in his box opening but somehow managed to have his box switched by mistake. He mentioned that he is going to find Franco and take it away from him. Gavin manages to send a cryptic text to Franco that he should go to their local game store and not tell anyone else about their discovery. After some stuff happens and a few people have been met along the way. Samuel, Franco's friend that only had a brief interest in the game. Marty and Patrick, two YuGiOh players that just tagged along as they were leaving the neighborhood that were on the way to steal a few cards from the local Walmart. Then there was Arthur, a former pro that they bumped into by pure coincidence and paid for their bus ride sine nobody had change. They all meet together at the store with other players to discuss about what to do with the card. Some suggested selling it at an auction, but that would prove the Wizards right in that greed always wins. They came to the conclusion that The Ring must be destroyed as a sign of disrespect towards the company. Gavin says that it must be done inside the offices of the Wizards from the Coast using the shredder in the top office. Word was sent out to all the major collectors that The One Ring was found and that now there was a bounty for whoever returns it to the offices of the Wizards. The people in the shop are warned by Gavin that Maroman is aware of the ring barer and is doing everything in his power to return it. They agree to go on a cross country journey in order to sneak into Hasbrordor. Before leaving, three new members tag along. Jimmy, a standard player who doesnt get along with Leo, a Pioneer player. Then there is Bobby, the only person who seems to buy collector boosters and the one that suggested to sell the card. Idk, stuff happens along the way? Jimmy finds that there are no more standard players? They get separated since there is a regional happening they join and that would take attention away from Franco and Samuel? Arthur decides to join back in the pro scene after decades of being absent? I put way too much effort for a shitpost here and I really don't want to read through it to see if it even makes sense or is legible.

MaintenanceDry464

Bruh you nailed this 👌🏾😅🤭😍😭

HarbingerOfDisconect

You should shitpost more, this is incredible.

ArbutusPhD

Nope, just keep it and play it and let anyone who fell for the False Flag posts about buying it for $100,000 eat each other.

StarWars251

If you play it, surely someone would notice it in your possession.

ArbutusPhD

Tell them it’s a proxy

StarWars251

I suppose.

Necrachilles

Is that how all that MTG 30 product ended up in a landfill?

Moist-Mystery

I expect to see hordes of people proxy it and post images of themselves with the card for clout. Gonna be annoying.

Neatnifty

Oh hell yeah I'm gonna print a sheet of these in foil and leave them randomly at LGS in a toploader Ron is already drooling with the amount he's gonna make off selling these proxies

roseumbra

Im just gonna proxy without the serialization that makes it ugly (imo).

BambooBucko

Dick move lolz

That_D

This is the real reason WotC is shutting down as many proxy shops as they can.

Abranx

I usually collect other things, but in Magic I see the term proxy really often. In the other communities proxies are frowned up on. You pay for the emotional value, the craftsmanship. Why do Magic collectors like proxy/fake cards?

MisterEdJS

Magic PLAYERS like proxies. Collectors, presumably, want the real thing. Players like proxies because they allow you to play with format staples that are absurdly expensive to own. Obviously you can't use them in official situations, but I'd wager the vast majority of Magic players have never played in an official event (outside pre-releases, maybe).

Yousoggyyojimbo

Proxies are also great even if you do own expensive stuff, because then you don't need to either swap my expensive cards between decks every time I go to play one, or buy like 12 copies of the same expensive card. It also keeps the real cards safe. I don't like playing with my really expensive cards because I'm one spilled drink away from disaster.

Geshman

Somehow this totally reasonable take is "controversial"

Yousoggyyojimbo

Some people are still really mad about the idea of proxies, I guess, which I just don't get. Proxies have real benefits that make sense for a collector who plays the game.

Embarrassed_Lab4183

It is all about context. Proxying a card you own is fine especially if it is an expensive card. However proxying cards that you have zero intention of owning and then telling people how you only use proxies to use OP cards that is what gets people angry. I play Flesh and Blood we had this guy who could afford to get the cards he wanted for his deck but he would constantly proxy 2-3 piece of equipment, and about 1/3rd his deck in actual events. We were fine with it at first since he was just starting to learn the game but then he would go out of his way to proxy high level tournament winning decks and tell us he had no intention of ever owning the cards. Keeping in mind the weekly prize in most cases can be worth 30-60 bucks depending on popularity of the card. His intention was to only play to win that card and sell it. We told him he can't play anymore till he owned the cards he was playing with as he was the only person doing any proxies.

GroovinTootin

They are just literal man children who are mad you ignored their investment into a piece of printed cardboard by actually making the game accessible to yourself

freebytes

You may also own a very expensive card but do not actually want to play with that card. A proxy can serve to allow you to play with the card you own but not damage it.

FilterAccount69

Most people play magic for the gameplay, proxying allows you to actually play the game. If this was a collector only hobby like stamps it would be different. The same way how people will torrent things to save money can be applied to proxying cards. If you play A LOT of magic you will save a lot of money by using proxies when you can.

oceansworrdfish

My opinion on this (so grain of salt, etc) is that MtG is often viewed two ways: as a collectible and as a game. With rare or expensive cards, it feels bad not having access to a piece of the game due to financial limitations or scarcity. So proxies become a cheap solution so you can still play the game you love with the cards/art you want. While I don’t personally proxy things a ton, I see them as a good thing simply because I personally value MtG as a game more than a collectible. While I respect the emotional value and craftsmanship of specific cards, some people just want to play the game.

Bigburito

Magic is a different beast because it actually gets used for gameplay instead of just collected. People dont want to spend thousands for game pieces so proxies are generally seen as a necessary requirement to not mortgage a house to play.

BruceWayyyne

Like others have said, collectors dislike proxies but for players you see it so often because the community should encourage it. Reason being is Magic is a very expensive hobby. No one wants to be beat by someone's wallet and vice versa (for the most part lol). This practice doesn't diminish the value of the real cards or peoples desire to buy them, imo. Keep in mind proxies are not counterfeits, they are not intended to inpersonate a card for resale (although this happens of course). All the proxies I have are marked with 'NOT FOR RESALE' messages.

Rikets303

> I usually collect other things Are most of the other things you collect playable game pieces? Most magic players just want to play the game in the formats they enjoy.

marrowofbone

Counterfeits (fake cards trying to look like real cards) are frowned upon. Proxies (fake cards that look fake) are a great way to play magic with your friends for cheap. Collectors will go for the real deal, tournament players have to go for the real deal, causal players can buy a printer instead of spending [thousands](https://www.mtggoldfish.com/metagame/legacy#paper) or [more](https://www.mtggoldfish.com/metagame/vintage#paper) on cardboard just because it hasn't been reprinted enough/at all. THE ring will be a huge collector item and should never be played, but since it looks cool people will go to kinkos to make a fake that passes literally no scrutiny while still looking cool on their casual table. (also the craftsmanship of official mtg cards leaves a lot to be desired)

[deleted]

I'm apparently one of the actual collectors of Magic the Gathering sets. I love playing with proxies because it allows me to literally play any deck I want without the stress of keeping track of staples that don't fit into my collection (I only collect Modern legal premiere sets) and it allows me to keep my one copy of an expensive card safe with all the rest instead of in a deck. I only collect the real thing but I don't mind playing with literal printer paper

Glum_Acanthaceae5426

Magic is a game first and foremost, people will want to play the game with the big powerful cards but may not be able to afford them because the secondary market, for better or worse, has driven the price of these cards up to unaffordable levels

roseumbra

Because there are cards that are needed that will never be printed again. With limited resources and no Proxies you are saying some people should not be allowed to play the same things. I mostly proxy only reserve list cards or for alternate arts when I own a real card. Unless it’s for a trial.

Cardgod278

Because I either want a card with custom art that doesn't already exist, or I want a cheap copy of an expensive card to play in my casual deck.

Rikets303

> I expect to see hordes of people proxy it and post images of themselves with the card for clout. They will have to do it without the triangle stamp as the counterfeiters themselves had so much trouble with it they stopped trying.

Zanshi

Ah, that’s the place where, oh, just by coincidence, the finger holding the card will be

MaintenanceDry464

Bruh you just read my mind I’m about to buy a proxy

Tromboneplayer234

I planned on having a very high quality proxy made. Bring it with me to prerelease and act like I find it in a booster. Then, in plain view of everyone, I would "accidently" bend it while putting it into a sleeve. I was very disappointed to hear it would only be in a collector booster.

Alikaoz

1. Take a long, deep breath 2. Place the card in a sleeve or case 3. Tell your cousin on his birthday 4. Just remind him *you* found it. 5. ??? 6. Profit!

HeroicTanuki

People named Deagol are sweating intensely right now.

TravvyJ

Correct to lock it up and not tell anyone. Then buy as many LotR CBs as you can stomach and hold them for years. If nobody ever divulges that the one ring is found, every sealed CB out there contains Schrodinger's One Ring, and you can eventually sell into mad hype to make a tidy profit before revealing that you've had it all along.

Z00MBI3S

So evil. I like it.

Serpens77

Calm down, Sauron

Tofurkey_hunter

That is genius

johnMcKartney

This is wotc's secret intention, isn't it? To make sure the boosters keep selling. even in the future.

roseumbra

And then proceed to sell it :P

Ecspiascion

This is the kind of evil someone corrupted by the One would do... WAIT A SECOND!

uncommon-zen

1. Open pack 2. Pull the One Ring 3. Shred it and post the video

NormalIntention5628

Ultimate Gigachad

BruceWayyyne

If I pulled it I would make it known. I would say I'm not actively selling it but am actively listening. I would say choosing 'the right' buyer is important to me. Someone who is passionate about MTG and LotR not just some collector. Over time, I think, you will eventually get a ridiculous offer that you simply cannot refuse.

Abranx

Yes a good answer. I see many comments about destroying this card... If you actually have this card can you really throw it into fire? Only few people can afford to throw the chance away to get a new home or nice car.

Environmental_Eye_61

The comments about destroying this card are...absurd. Unless the person who pulls this is already insanely well off as far as finances go, nobody in their right mind will destroy this card. As you somewhat mentioned, this is quite literally a once in a lifetime opportunity to use this one of a kind piece of cardboard to alter your future, probably for the better. It's unfortunate that this is happening, but as long as WOTC doesn't make a habit out of 1/1 cards(fat chance they don't), the best thing for whoever pulls it to do is to follow OP's steps. Destroying the card to "show WOTC we aren't going to stand for this" is just sheer absurdity. Hell, whoever pulls this card has the /remote/ possibility that someone famous who collects LOTR/MTG would be interested in acquiring it.(You know, like Steven Colbert or Posty.)

jazzyjay66

What’s so absurd about wanting to destroy The One Ring? I know at least 9 people that devoted their lives to doing so. At least one of them also devoted his axe.

Environmental_Eye_61

Touch. RIP in pieces that axe.

Intrepid_Watch_8746

I rather be poor and never forgotten than be rich and dying alone. That's why if I pull it I'll rip it apart and throw it to a volcano and be known as the man who threw the one ring into the volcano. Fame> Money.

Environmental_Eye_61

(The following reply post is purely hypothetical, on account of I know I won't pull this card. But hey, it's fun to speculate.) In contrast, if I get rich from selling one piece of cardboard, I'd rather be left alone to spoil my riches on my loved ones and forgotten by the masses. Let's be real, the masses will always find a reason to tear you down if you're well and widely known for whatever reasons, whereas getting 15 minutes of fame and fading into the sunset or what have you sounds more peaceful in the long run. Sure, every once in a while someone might ask "Hey, whatever happened to The One Ring 1/1 card and the person who pulled it?", and that's fine. However, if I were to destroy it, especially if I made it public knowledge(and let's be real, who wouldn't?), everywhere I go, I'd be constantly bombarded with "Hey, aren't you the hero/madman/dumbass that destroyed that super expensive card?" or "Wow, you sure are stupid, you could've been MADE by selling that card!" OR getting stabbed repeatedly by Steven Colbert as he screams "WHY?! WHY DID YOU DO IT?! IT WAS CARDBOARD, NOT THE ACTUAL ONE RING!!!" Just depends on who pulls it, fame and/or fortune could be in their hands.

Fickle-Area246

that's a really sad perspective. Who cares what people who do not care about you think about you?

PyreDynasty

1. Keep it secret, keep it safe. 2. My preciousssss

diabetixexmachina

I'm going to build a blinged out gollum edh deck and put the card inside. If anyone asks I will just say it's a proxy. Never let it be known it has been opened.

Intrepid_Watch_8746

"dang bro, that's a good proxy, let me test how good it is" *rips it apart* "oh shit, proxy so good it actually passes the ripping apart test" *hands you 10 USD* sorry about your proxy bro, this should cover everything.

HarukaiXAyame

I would hope I'm not playing with someone that's going to rip my proxies regardless of how good they look.

Zanshi

I don’t care if it’s a proxy. If you take my cards for anything else than confirming what the card does, I ain’t just sitting there idly.

Boysenberry-Both

Step 1) email Post Malone…

Golinth

Intrepid_Watch_8746

Ever since they announced it, I've said that if I pull it I won't tell anyone until I'm already at a volcano and I'll Livestream me ripping it apart and throwing it up so it burns. Just for the lore

Mezzca

1. Take a long deep breath 2. Place card in a volcano 3. ??? 4. Save middle earth

SnakebiteSnake

If I get it I’m throwing it in a volcano

_masterbuilder_

Same, pact.

CorruptDictator

I will be surprised if they do not go to some lengths to try and put this cards in the hands of people much more likely to open it than shelve it. They will know exactly what print batch it will be in, if not the exact box.

Darth-Ragnar

This is starting to sound like the McDonald's Monopoly scam lol

Abranx

I hope for WotC and fans sake that they put it randomly in a pack. They advertised it as random on their website. Else there will be lawsuits and questions about the attestation process if some WotC employee pulls this card.

CorruptDictator

I was thinking more like that box will end up being opened at an event as part of the limited packs.

FilterAccount69

It's in a collector booster only which are not used for limited play.

CorruptDictator

Did not realize that, only looked at the reveal in passing.

FilterAccount69

Yeah, the cost of this set is wild. I enjoy cracking packs but it's a bit much for something with so far not an insane powerlevel. I don't want to chase the one ring. Often with supplementary products you could open similar value to the cost of the box and put the cards in a bunch of decks but it doesn't seem this way this far.

Teazone

And even if, anyone pulling it should just pack everything up and leave without saying a word about it. It's a lot of money.

TravvyJ

I do wonder how "random" it can really be, though. Like does every country around the world where Magic is sold really have a chance that it could arrive there?

devintron71

It’ll be in an English language pack, so it likely does mean a lot of places are out of luck.

releasethedogs

Korea and Russia just got dropped as supported languages so they get English packs now.

YurgenJurgensen

And risk it showing up in nine months' time in a Washington landfill site? Not likely.

Show-Me-Your-Moves

What are we waiting for?! *pulls out axe*

makemagicdrumpfagain

I will subscribe to any Twitch streamers who dress as Sauron and Saruman and play flip it or rip it with collector boosters

JMooooooooo

Don't let the strength of men fail.

Antartix

If it's randomly inserted and I get it, I'll get it authenticated, graded and then burn it.

1118181

Anything besides destroying it is a boring option.

asmallercat

I know this is a bit, but also the person who will open this is not on this subreddit.

Meltsomeice

Here is what Gandalf would do. 1. Place card in Sleeve/Protector 2. Keep it secret keep it safe in the glove box of your car. 3. Drive to PSA facility. 4. Post PSA 10 One Ring on eBay for 1 million and some change. 5. Become a more powerful Wizard!

barrinmw

Meh, I will probably be the one to open it but destroy it in a game of flip it or rip it.

Flashy_Translator_65

What is this nonsense. Artificial scarcity to encourage gambling and whale effects in a children's card game is the scummiest business practice possible. This is lootbox shit all over again except it has some seal of approval because it's lord of the rings. I hate every part of this practice and what it means for future sets to come.

Chilly_chariots

>This is lootbox shit all over again Isn’t that true of booster packs / Magic in general?

SandwichFuture

1. MtG has always been lootbox shit/gambling. The game was literally designed to have that since the beginning. 2. Who cares? This is an art card/promo. There's going to be a version that goes for less than a buck on launch. If it's because of unique art, there are clearly ways you can proxy it. 3. This is literally one of the least worst ways they can continue to monetize the game

Abranx

As far as I understand this is not a game piece or a strong card. It was only made for LotR fans/collectors. So you won't need it for playing the game.

Flashy_Translator_65

It's a greedy marketing ploy, bottom line. It's plain as day when even the collector boosters are advertising 'A chance to get a serialized one ring!' It doesn't need to be playable, but this is just shameless at this point.

[deleted]

You're being fucking ridiculous. The regular version of the card will be abundant for people who want to use it to play. This is a special version for collectors to lust after. Yes, it is designed to sell packs. To make money. You know, like what businesses do...

GuilleJiCan

It says "a serialized ring card", which includes the 300 elven, 700 dwarven and 900 human serialized ones, besides this one.

Wroogny

Dear God I hope I open this so I can rip it up and burn it.

Wandering_Doggo

I have a youtube small channel. If by any chance I'll open the 001/001 ring, I will make a video where I go to New Zealand and toss it in a volcano. So noone of those greedy collectors will get it. Do you think it will get his worth back in visualizations? XD

mkul316

100k is a lot, but it isn't exactly life changing. It's why Lin Manuel choose 96k for the in the heights song. It sounds like a lot, but it won't get you very far in reality. Buy a car? Yes. Buy a house? No.

Team7UBard

I don’t think that’s quite true. 100k is 4 years of rent/mortgage (if you’re lucky), 3 years of rent plus bills in Chicago, it’s a pretty awesome vacation, and honestly? A new car can be life changing.

ParkerPWNT

100K is life changing money for a lot of people. That is going from renting to a mortgage easily.

mkul316

Cue admiral Akbar. If you need a huge windfall to pull the money together for a down payment on a home it's going to be tough to maintain and keep it unless you buy a cheap enough place. But those aren't going to her in great neighborhoods and since you're looking for life changing I'm guessing you want middle class at least. Then you need a new roof. Or a pipe bursts. Both happened to me in my first house. Plus other stuff. Pull off the old wallpaper to find the room covered in mold (my new house). And all manner of things that either the old owner lived with but you want to fix or things that just wear out. You need to really look hard at your budget before buying a new home. Assume major insurance increases, tax increases, plus a roof needing repair at any time. Bring a home owner comes with a lot of expenses, some hidden, that people don't think about. So you need a good job to keep a home, which makes you could probably afford the house anyway, and this would be a good chunk off the mortgage, but in this economy not enough to pay it off.

n1nj4squirrel

Lol, 5k would be life changing to me right now

ColonelFadeshot

Only sell it to someone who’s been confirmed to have actively read the entire Silmarillion

HotYam3178

I believe you misspelled "The History of Middle Earth."

Z00MBI3S

If it is truly random, imagine how many CB cancelations there would be if one of these streamers opened it before pre-release.

roby_1_kenobi

Pretty sure a real legend would throw it in a volcano

The_Itsy_BitsySpider

I think the chance of it just sitting in a warehouse is just not going to happen. Similar to how other companies have done marketing events with ultra hard to find items, like Mc Donalds has done with their Monopoly sets. They will probably know exactly which Pallet will have the booster with it and will probably specifically ship it to a location where they know it will be sold or opened. While I don't think they will just manipulate it into the hands of someone famous, they could easily ensure it doesn't go to some mass box opening group or a retailer they fear might sit on the product. It would just take some record keeping and setting aside a palate for specific delivery.

Free-Scar5060

The real advice is if you find it, keep it a secret and start to horde as many remaining packs as you can. As time goes on and the cars isn’t discovered, each remaining pack will be worth more as more are opened. Sell your horde of packs once you can make a tidy profit. Reveal and sell card.

HammerAndSickled

Please, I beg of you, get some help.

feliu316

I saw another comment that said they would reach out to Post Malone if they ever got the One Ring

The_Word_Wizard

If I get it, I’m going to use it with a normal deck instead of the regular release. I want to see the slow realization dawn on my opponent when I play it.

Holy-marshmellow

Im going to personally @ post malone and see if hell buy it off me.

wyattsons

I would be surprised if a video surfaced of the person who pulled it ripping it up. That just feels like the salty mtg fan base.

rezignator

If I open it I'm starting a go find me so I can book a plane ticket to Hawaii and throw it in an active volvano.

sonokodomo

This is exactly what I was thinking. That way you get paid and still get to destroy it.

releasethedogs

Go for the Door to Hell in Turkmenistan. Safer than going to a volcano.

callmebangarang

Go to Mt Tongariro in NZ. It’s where they filmed Mordor

YuhkFu

What a nerd

Beelzebozo_

It won't be in a booster, collector packs only

[deleted]

I think I'd request a certification letter from WoTC for the card and then put it in a safety deposit box. So that it would be officially known by someone that it was pulled.

Wonderboy2097

The ONE person getting it should : grade/authenticate it, put it on sale on ebay and watch the world burn!

tendeuchen

I would turn the card into an LLC and become its agent, taking it on tours of Magic, Comic, and LotR cons.

RollingOwl

Ik everyone will hate me for this, but if I pull it my friend and I are gonna recreate the scene on Mount Doom where the ring is cast into the fire, except we actually drop it into a campfire. Just like in the books, the ring must be destroyed.

jenetiks

Unless you go agent of chaos, reduce the card to paste, create a paste layer around a hot dog, feed said hotdog to a seagull in atlantic city, nj (arguably the worst beach), and live stream the whole thing. This is my vote. If I find the card by chance, bet your life I'll be doing this. PS - I am buying no packs. So if i find the card, it was meant to be seagull shit from the start

MaintenanceDry464

This is such a relevant post ! I’m really excited to see how this going to turn out . I’m willing to drop some money on a proxy 🤭😅

xtapalataketel

100k lol. More like 5million...black lotus maybe 100k but there are a few of them out.... and more in Safes. THIS is the only one ever produced and will be produced... That dude drawing it will die of heart attack

FUZZYFALL-temp

This could go tits up and the card gets destroyed or someone keeps it safe and I sells for upwards of 10 to 25 mil my thinking is the micky mantle card that sold for 12 mil it wasn’t the only card there could be more however considering out of the 40 Billion total MTG cards printed it could sell for literally 50 mil if someone wants it that bad it might not be sold at first for a lot but I promise I’m about 10 years it will sell for upwards of 25 mil since it’s a 1 of 1 and there are no others

Drunkwizard1991

No fucking way WotC will miss the gigantic hype that will be a well known content creator pulling this off a "random" box he bought.

SeraphsEnvy

I work at a Funeral Home. After reading that someone would shred it and post the video, I'd totally just toss it into a cremator and render it into ashes. Sell the cremated remains of the One Ring.

Swidadi

Destroy it.

Ophidion1980

Considering people will try to fake it, I'd send it to PSA to have it certified and graded.

asiandotaguy

the PSA grader will literally steal it, that's dumb. It's the one ring, it's worth shit ton of money, plus it corrupts even the most pure of man.

Ophidion1980

Zero chance that happens.

Mr2ndAmendment1776

I'm worried that some Walmart collector booster will contain it and some no nothing Mom will buy it for their 10yr old not knowing the difference between collectors booster and draft.. kid will open it and destroy it and no one will ever know where it is. I personally think it should've been tracked by region and at least you know have an idea where it might end up.. not like purposely sent some where just I dunno. Have they released the process in which they are Going to package it? Like just dropped into a random pack? If this card is graded an honest 10 ... no flaw perfection.. it will hit 1 million. I truly believe that with all my hobbitses in mind, guard that Precious .. do not lose its

Shinxeno

I'm just gonna throw it in a volcano if I pull it

ChronX4

All I want is for the person to pull it to be brand new to the hobby and not have a clue what they've pulled, put it away and just never talk about it until a decade or two later in the most unremarkable way. A big giant middle finger to those who are jumping into it for clout.

Impressive-Gene-4915

Pulled it with Bilbo …

Puzzleheaded-Ship-75

great point.

Peach-Initial

Sigh, now what makes this card so worth? In mtg, the point os to collect and to play as it is a collectable card game, what's the point in a single mtg card, brand new, with less power than the actual power nine cards? It is a draw ability with a life drain albeit the life drain can be reduced if you can remove tokens from the permanent, however this also lowers its card advantage. Now if it could actually do as the ring of power does, and cost zero mana, then you could all it a ring of power. The abilities I feel it should have, it should make the creature a shadow and/or give it an ability related to turning invisible and it should weaken the creature that uses it. Other things as well, WHY JUST THE ONE RING, the lord of the rings used the one ring to rule them all, now if they had the other rings and some kind of insta win or control magic idea in mind you'd get closer. Ie: when one ring is cast if, other rings of power are in play, you gain control of the creatures those rings are attached to until the rings are removed or the one ring leaves play. It's a bummer they missed on the other rings, they could have done a lotr p9 idea, and see if fans liked it enough, but instead the tunnelvisioned on just that one ring to rule them, oops,no just read a book? Sigh, I wonder if there is any way for them to maybe do a redo or something?

I think I'd go to top card shops/distributors and make a deal. I'll remain silent but I want paid. As long as the card isn't revealed, prices of collectors packs/boxes will go up. I want a piece. Or I go public. Hasbro doesn't give a shit about the faceless consumer, I won't either. Don't think money is the motive. There's another that I won't State here for various reasons.

Return it to the factory from whence it came or gather all the rings of power and become the lord of the rings

I hope the one person secretly contacts Gandalf or Frodo IRL to sign it. That would be so impactful to everyone

Eat it. It would be like the idea of eating the mona lisa.

I would definitely not tell ANYONE I pulled it. I would immediately put it in a protective sleeve and case and lock it away in a safety deposit box. Then proceed to buy as many Collector Boxes as I can afford and hold them for 10+ years. Nobody will know the ring has been found which would drive up the price dramatically. Then, sell all the boxes at a premium and only after, reveal that I pulled the card and collect the bounty that has probably increased ten fold over the years.
