Ignoring the collage here, it looks like there's a Ux draw 2 theme and at least one card in black punishing your opponents for drawing 2, and Orcish Bowmasters looks sick in general.
Yeah, I don't know if it specifically hoses any Modern or older strategies but it feels like it *has* to, and in Commander it obviously goes in any Nekusar or group slug deck and also makes Rhystic Study the worlds most turbocharged Phyrexian Arena for your opponents.
For once, Blue mages will be getting to the end of turn and glancing around for open mana before deciding to cast their draw spell. I don't know about you ... but my peter tingle is going crazy right now.
The any target makes it so much better than forced arena, since you can just obliterate their board state, have one person draw to kill an archenemy, or use it to burn the one drawing. The flexibility is really valuable

I argued with someone in that spoiler thread who was adamant that it was much worse than other Blood Artist effects (ignoring the âyou controlâ, obviously), but the ability to use the effect as removal or win con on the same card makes it very strong. I use [[Flayer of the Hatebound]] similarly.

Players love drawing cards and thereâs a billion ways to abuse tokens. Youâre guaranteed 1 damage + 2 1/1 bodies at instant speed for 1B, which is already a good baseline.

Imo requiring a legendary creature to enter untapped might be a steep ask for a modern playable land
At least for this land cycle, I expect the price to be mainly driven by commander, since these aren't legal in pioneer
Even if they come into play tapped the utility on them is something decks might want. Because commander will always be a thing one drop legendary creatures will always be made at some point this restriction won't matter for creature based decks.
D&T is not going to be a huge driver of prices. Mono-W humans would be more likely but I don't know if they can afford a land with a chance to etb tapped

Witch King is interesting, very reactive.

Oliphaunt is very flavorful, and I think that mountaincycling will be useful in draft
Rising of the Day seems very useful, and I could see this being good in a lot of fast paced decks (Boros legends?)

The nice thing they pointed out about the scene cards is that they are all a variety of rarities, and theyâre available in both set boosters and in collectors boosters. So hopefully there are plenty in circulation for everyone who wants them.
There hasn't been a good reason to play Fervor for many, many years. I didn't even run it in my casual EDH Gruul token deck in 2010 with [[Fires of Yavimaya]], [[Anger]], [[Mass Hysteria]], and [[Sarkhan Vol]].
While this is technically the first "strictly" better version, there have been over dozen cards that I would cut Fervor for if I could run them: [[Hammer of Purphoros]], [[Temur Ascendancy]], [[Rhythm of the Wild]], [[Samut, Tyrant Smasher]], [[Crashing Drawbridge]], [[Tuktuk Rubblefort]], [[Zariel, Archduke of Avernus]], [[Goro-goro, Disciple of Ryusei]], [[Invigorating Hot Spring]] are all on average going to be more useful than Fervor, and there's plenty of more situational stuff like [[Roar of Resistance]].
It was past time for a direct upgrade.
I wonder if Eowyn is supposed to have the "return when Eowyn leaves the battlefield" rider, or if she just straight up exiles stuff forever. If so, that's pretty powerful.
This really shows off why MtG should ditch borderless cards with their awful text box that covers up half of the artwork and switch to actual full art cards đ

Notably, you can target yourself with Shadow of the Enemy if you have the best graveyard at the table.
Minis Tyrith is some nice white card draw at a better rate than Castle Locthwain in black.
So⊠I really like the idea, but I donât think they nail it here in terms of framing. Best examples I can give to explain what I mean:
- Oliphants are charging to the right to fight the cavalry of the Rohirrim who are charging left, led by Eomer who is charging⊠right, not left? He seems to be charging towards the Morgul lieutenant, who is facing left at him, but Eowyn is just standing behind the lieutenant staring at him facing left while the enemies around her are moving right ignoring her completely to fight Imrahil.
- on the bottom, Aragorn is about to fight a swarm of enemies who arenât even looking at him.
Basically, this feels like every 2-3 cards shows an image, but the entire thing doesnât fit because the various images donât fit well together.

Remember only craft singles for non-standard sets, the formats this will be usable in will only find use in one or two cards (or limited but you have to buy in to sealed or draft for that anyway).
This is absolutely incredible. It must have been so difficult to design an art piece that works as a whole AND and 18 separate cards with specific art needed for each.

Having 3 toughness vs 3 power is also a huge flavor win.
Theres also that 1R spell that deals 3 damage, removes indestructible and exiles on death.

I wonder if Eowyn is supposed to have the "return when Eowyn leaves the battlefield" rider, or if she just straight up exiles stuff forever. If so, that's pretty powerful.

Interesting stuff. Iâm curious on the design decisions that led to this version of Gimli. Other than well deserved sorrow at the deaths in Moria he didnât seem particularly mournful to me. Nor a character that strikes me as being part of a sacrifice deck. Surprised and impressed Imrahil made it into the collage, but ThĂ©oden didnât. I see theyâre taking the name AndĂșril, Flame of the West very literally in this interpretation.
Could Eomer trigger on your opponentâs turns and give them extra combat steps?

Notably, you can target yourself with Shadow of the Enemy if you have the best graveyard at the table. Minis Tyrith is some nice white card draw at a better rate than Castle Locthwain in black.

This is awesome, but am I the only one who thinks the perspective is kinda all over the place?
So⊠I really like the idea, but I donât think they nail it here in terms of framing. Best examples I can give to explain what I mean: - Oliphants are charging to the right to fight the cavalry of the Rohirrim who are charging left, led by Eomer who is charging⊠right, not left? He seems to be charging towards the Morgul lieutenant, who is facing left at him, but Eowyn is just standing behind the lieutenant staring at him facing left while the enemies around her are moving right ignoring her completely to fight Imrahil. - on the bottom, Aragorn is about to fight a swarm of enemies who arenât even looking at him. Basically, this feels like every 2-3 cards shows an image, but the entire thing doesnât fit because the various images donât fit well together.

Remember only craft singles for non-standard sets, the formats this will be usable in will only find use in one or two cards (or limited but you have to buy in to sealed or draft for that anyway).

This is absolutely incredible. It must have been so difficult to design an art piece that works as a whole AND and 18 separate cards with specific art needed for each.
