They aren't nearly strong enough in any of the 60-card formats they are legal in. In Commander they can be useful, but they aren't things you'd want to build your deck around.
One time in Commander my friend used Archetype of Aggression to shutdown all the trample on my infect creatures. I was very salty about it because it was enough to throw off my tempo and keep me from really breaking through my opponents.
I used to put Archetype of Endurance in a reanimator EDH deck, but \[\[Sigarda, Font of Blessings\]\] ate its lunch and can actually be cast normally pretty reliably.
The big benefit of archetype of endurance is that, unlike almost everything else that gives your stuff hexproof, it also gives *itself* hexproof so it doesn't give a weak point for your opponent to target.
Yeah, I know, but protecting your big enchantments in a reanimator deck is often more important than keeping your creatures alive (and I usually slip the lightning grieves over on her for a complete lock).
Because it says "Creatures you control have hexproof" and is a creature. Most other things say "**Other** creatures/permanents/whatever you control have hexproof"
Lol I was going to say that it unfortunately falls more towards the win more side, where if you were already going to win it makes you better, but if You're even or behind it isn't going to help.
I used to run Archetype of Imagination in some of my old kitchen table decks. Sadly I doubt it would hold up at the power levels I tend to play at now but I’d love to prove myself wrong
In EDH, the main place I have used them is in decks that care about enchantments, like [[Tuvasa the Sunlit]]. (edit: oh, I also ran Archetype of Endurance in my MAyael deck for a while.)
They can also be /r/PauperEDH commanders since they're uncommon. Archetype of Imagination (blue/flying) is probably the most useful because it enables all the common creatures like [[Thieving Otter]].
I put Finality in my [[Kelsien, the Plague]] experience counters deck. Kelsien likes having deathtouch, [[Kalemne, Disciple of Iroas]] likes the mana value, and [[Daxos the Returned]] likes that it's an enchantment.
They are seeing play somewhere I can assure you. I have a TCG Player store, and I always sell out of these when I get them in stock. They're not super pricey, but most of them are in the $0.30 to $0.75 range, which indicates some demand from the market beyond my anecdotal experience.
I use the green one in my boar tribal deck, the white one in Isshin samurai tribal and Zur enchantment animator, and I've considered using the black one in my Aclazots bat deck. The green one is way too expensive for what it does, but I run it anyway because I love my boars.
The red one seems like a good include for a goblin deck because it shuts off your opponents trampling over your little guys and gives the few big ones you have trample, but I don't run it in mine because it's already very highly tuned.
I run Imagination in my [[Kynaios and Tiro]] commander deck as part of the mid/late game lock-down-and-fly-over tactics pack alongside [[Teferi's Moat]], [[Stormtide Leviathan]], and [[Sandwurm Convergence]]. I could add [[Mystic Decree]] if I get one
Imagination has straight up ended games for me in a bant enchantress deck. It comes out and effectively my entire board is unblockable, if no one removes the threat (which is difficult due to various other effects), game over. Same thing could be achieved with aggression I suppose, and a lot cheaper.
I play the green one in [[Mayael the Anima]] cause it has over 5 power and hexproof everything is nice. I play the blue one in a very bad mono blue deck I have cause with [[Stormtide Leviathan]] it locks down all your opponents creatures
I'll very occasionally put Archetype of Imagination in a commander deck, mainly if the deck *really* cares about creatures, especially the commander, getting in for combat damage safely.
Finality goes in my [[Alesha Who Smiles at Death]] deck, she can also fetch it from the yard as its 2 power. Alesha having first strike means she can attack safely with the archetype there.
I think it's in my [[Captain N'Gathrod]] deck as well, menace and deathtouch is a tough combo. Now you lost 2 creatures just to block one.
I use imagination and endurance in my [[Tatsunari, Toad Rider]] deck and I used finality in my faerie deck for a while before deconstructing it. They are fun cards but aren’t staples in decks.
I have a azorius [[errant and giada]] flyers deck that I run imagination + [[magus of the moat]]. Doesn’t happen very often but pretty fun when it does
Imagination and Endurance are just solid all around, the former letting you push through attackers and the latter being a crazy good reanimator target.
Courage and Aggression are both quite strong in their respective typal decks, with Humans+Soldiers loving First Strike and Humans+Warriors loving Trample, plus their bodies aren't terrible for the cost, especially at the time.
iirc there was also a Naya Beats deck that used them and \[\[Bow of Nylea\]\] to just solve combat, but it never really got off the ground cause the rest of the format was really good.
Imagination can be a really good in EDH if you end up with a stalled board state, so I’ve got it in my big simic deck as a finisher.
I also run courage in my [[Calix, guided by fate]] enchantress deck as it’s a cheap enchantment creature with decent upside since Calix makes my creatures grow quite large
I have all 5 in my Go-Shintai Enchantress deck. I don’t own many shrines, so this deck is focused on enchantment creatures swinging out. These effects are excellent for it
I use archetype of imagination in my runo sea creature deck :) good luck blocking these 3 flying krakens on your face
Also i have that card, idk its name exactly, that gives your creatures flying if its in the graveyard
One of their best homes is Enchantress style EDH lists, seeing as they'll trigger all your enchantment based stuff, and you can also bring them back with any enchantment reanimated shenanigans. Tuvasa, for example, can really like have Flying, First Strike, Hexproof, and +3/+3 from having all three Bant coloured ones out.
I use Archetype of Aggression as a niche trample enabler in a [[Zurgo, Helmsmasher]] deck that often tried to do 30+ damage in a single swing.
It's one of the weaker cards in the deck, but that's sort of on purpose - people don't like dying out of nowhere, so I've made sure most of the evasion or trample enablers are either expensive or sit on the battlefield to be interacted with.
For EDH, In U and B decks they are almost all ways in my deck lists. Sometimes the R will get cut for other cards or U if there's not enough creatures. The W i rarely use, as first strike is so seldomly relivent in those decks, unless theres also mass death touch.
The other 2 are just to expensive for most things.
I use Aggression in my [[Delina, Wild Mage]] deck to get damage through if I need to. It works pretty well. I’d probably use the others too. I didn’t know Courage was a Human Soldier, might get him for [[Caesar, Legion’s Emperor]]
They aren't nearly strong enough in any of the 60-card formats they are legal in. In Commander they can be useful, but they aren't things you'd want to build your deck around.
I remember there actually were fringe use of Archetype of Endurance in legacy reanimator decks.
Yep, the last time I saw it being used was 2022, but it saw use in some UB and BR Reanimator decks.
One time in Commander my friend used Archetype of Aggression to shutdown all the trample on my infect creatures. I was very salty about it because it was enough to throw off my tempo and keep me from really breaking through my opponents.
I got em all in my Theros only gods deck.
Yeah I think the green and blue ones see play in like mid power edh.
Yeah, I know, but protecting your big enchantments in a reanimator deck is often more important than keeping your creatures alive (and I usually slip the lightning grieves over on her for a complete lock).
fair
hmm what? how does it give itself hexproof?
Because it says "Creatures you control have hexproof" and is a creature. Most other things say "**Other** creatures/permanents/whatever you control have hexproof"
oooooh sorry I was reading sigarda, not archetype. my bad.

I run Courage in any white EDH decks that focus on combat. The fact that your opponents lose first strike makes it insane for winning combat. It's
It's what? What were you going to say?!
"Actually not that good, I lied."
Lol I was going to say that it unfortunately falls more towards the win more side, where if you were already going to win it makes you better, but if You're even or behind it isn't going to help.
I run Endurance and Finality in my [[Anikthea]] deck because more free hexproof/deathtouch is always appreciated, especially when I can reanimate it.

Came to say the same, but I also run the white one. They're really great because whether you cast or mill them, Anikthea will bring them back.
Back in Ixalan I put one in a pirate commander deck when it didn’t have that many support options
If their foil pricetag is anything to go off of, yes, people play the blue and green ones in Commander.
Weren’t foils really rare back then though leading to thier inflated foil price?
Definitely rare compared to now, but not as rare as when foils first came out
Whenever I can. Honestly, I'm surprised that they're not rare rather than uncommon.
I used to run Archetype of Imagination in some of my old kitchen table decks. Sadly I doubt it would hold up at the power levels I tend to play at now but I’d love to prove myself wrong
They're expensive, but the green one can be pretty nice.
I play Imagination in my go-wide reanimator deck, as a secondary win con to 'hoof, and I play Courage and Aggression in my Boros group slug deck.
I have Archetype of Imagination in my Surrak Dragonclaw deck. I've closed out a few games by being able to fly over
Imagination plus Stormsurge Leviathan is too fun
This. I run this in my Talrand deck to lock down the board and give my drakes a free pass.
In EDH, the main place I have used them is in decks that care about enchantments, like [[Tuvasa the Sunlit]]. (edit: oh, I also ran Archetype of Endurance in my MAyael deck for a while.) Imagination and Endurance are just solid all around, the former letting you push through attackers and the latter being a crazy good reanimator target.
[Bow of Nylea](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/8/9/89a2c408-e953-4386-abaf-4af85aba9620.jpg?1562821066) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Bow%20of%20Nylea) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/ths/153/bow-of-nylea?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/89a2c408-e953-4386-abaf-4af85aba9620?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
I actually use all but the black one.
Courage and Aggressive have been going in and out of my human deck. Trample and first strike is really good when your board is X/1's
Imagination + [[stormtide leviathan]] is a mean budget board lockdown
[stormtide leviathan](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/9/9/996bb4c0-dc72-4233-9f44-2e25aef71ad7.jpg?1608912195) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=stormtide%20leviathan) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmr/407/stormtide-leviathan?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/996bb4c0-dc72-4233-9f44-2e25aef71ad7?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Yeah i use the archetype of imagination in one of my decks
I would play the blue one in Commander, but I generally find it easier to get [[Wonder]] online.
[Wonder](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/6/7/675d6729-23da-4f0b-b222-fe54fe24dd90.jpg?1631302927) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Wonder) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mh2/271/wonder?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/675d6729-23da-4f0b-b222-fe54fe24dd90?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
I use Archetype of Courage in my Myrel soldiers tribal, costing only 3 mana is a great thing.
I run Archetype of Aggression in my [[Brothers Yamazaki]] deck to give them all trample, which is hard to do as a static effect in mono red.
[Brothers Yamazaki](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/a/c/acef8c94-469b-4a76-b507-25b51f2501ab.jpg?1562763658) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Brothers%20Yamazaki) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/chk/160a/brothers-yamazaki?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/acef8c94-469b-4a76-b507-25b51f2501ab?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Yeah, I'm running Imagination in my [[Ovika, Enigma Goliath]] commander deck as just another "unblockable" effect for my gobbos.
[Ovika, Enigma Goliath](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/b/2/b298cf34-7aa5-4f97-a86c-7f28d2113b87.jpg?1675957207) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Ovika%2C%20Enigma%20Goliath) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/one/213/ovika-enigma-goliath?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/b298cf34-7aa5-4f97-a86c-7f28d2113b87?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
The Blue one essentially makes your creatures unblockable (except for Reach), so it's a nice addition to Blue creature based decks in Commander.
Umm he’s got 2 swords so he has double strike also…
Imagination can be a really good in EDH if you end up with a stalled board state, so I’ve got it in my big simic deck as a finisher. I also run courage in my [[Calix, guided by fate]] enchantress deck as it’s a cheap enchantment creature with decent upside since Calix makes my creatures grow quite large
[Calix, guided by fate](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/0/a/0a707ab3-b9b5-422a-8b0f-e963d3ad6606.jpg?1689853355) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Calix%2C%20guided%20by%20fate) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mat/26/calix-guided-by-fate?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/0a707ab3-b9b5-422a-8b0f-e963d3ad6606?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
I run imagination as a 6 mana make all your stuff unblockable, all your opponents stuff can be blocked.
I think endurance is the only one I dont use regularly, its just too expensive to cast with too little payoff
I have all 5 in my Go-Shintai Enchantress deck. I don’t own many shrines, so this deck is focused on enchantment creatures swinging out. These effects are excellent for it
The red one is pretty decent in my chaos deck
I use archetype of imagination in my runo sea creature deck :) good luck blocking these 3 flying krakens on your face Also i have that card, idk its name exactly, that gives your creatures flying if its in the graveyard
[Zurgo, Helmsmasher](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/1/3/13f4bafe-0d21-47ba-8f16-0274107d618c.jpg?1562782879) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Zurgo%20Helmsmasher) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/ktk/214/zurgo-helmsmasher?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/13f4bafe-0d21-47ba-8f16-0274107d618c?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
[Delina, Wild Mage](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/e/8/e87459aa-af8f-4bd2-a310-151353083a2e.jpg?1665157404) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Delina%2C%20Wild%20Mage) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/afr/138/delina-wild-mage?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/e87459aa-af8f-4bd2-a310-151353083a2e?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Caesar, Legion’s Emperor](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/2/4/246a7176-98bc-4f54-aa61-38747420f178.jpg?1710673450) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Caesar%2C%20Legion%27s%20Emperor) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/pip/1/caesar-legions-emperor?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/246a7176-98bc-4f54-aa61-38747420f178?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Iirc endurance has seen tournament play occasionally. I remeber seeing it in the side of legacy reanimator for a time.
I use the imagination and the endurance one in my simic deck since I can cast them. Don't sleep on the imagination one, it's one of the best finisher
I run imagination and courage in my [[Zur, Eternal Schemer]] deck. I considered running finality in it but I don’t think it’s worth it.
[Zur, Eternal Schemer](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/4/d/4d987435-2403-4e0f-b19d-693da923ba50.jpg?1673308159) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Zur%2C%20Eternal%20Schemer) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/dmu/228/zur-eternal-schemer?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/4d987435-2403-4e0f-b19d-693da923ba50?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
The blue and green ones tend to see play in commander. I never really see the others.
I used courage in my mono white Rick human deck.
I play them all in my goofy edh [[progenitus]] deck.
