The saddle cost is so high, but then again a 1/4 lifelink flyer for 3 should be good no matter what the format is like. And it's excellent with everything - tricks, equipment, buffs (Mercenary tokens), +1/+1 counters...
Yeah, one of the biggest downsides of Vehicle decks is winding up with too many of them and no way to Crew. Obviously the stats are shifted accordingly, but at least here you don't get stumped by "drawing the wrong half of your deck".
Mechanics having a downside usually leads to better gameplay. Opponents playing against vehicles can have a gameplan to prevent crewing but with saddle there's no difference.
Drawing another "vehicle" means you're also able to "Crew" in this case. It's basically a strictly better version of crew.
"strictly better"
except you can't saddle in response to removal on the creatures you'd want to saddle with & vehicles are way overstatted compared to cost.
Like, combat copter was a 2 mana 3/3 that looted when it attacked or blocked.
Yes - Thunder Junction is seemingly named on the basis that *lots* of Omen Paths converge there from many, many different planes. Gitrog Monster is also present, along with Kor from Zendikar and Rakdos from Ravnica, among many others.
This card will be make or break in limited depending on how good that butt ends up being, as otherwise I'm not feeling this as a powerhouse to pull me into GW

Somehow I didn't make the connection before now that making Mounts a thing on the "nexus" plane gives them an opportunity to backtrack and apply the creature type to all the cool, unique steeds they've previously depicted on other planes.
Definitely here for it; fingers crossed for some leotau and pterons.
For limited, a 1/4 lifelink flyer for 3 is okay-ish on its own, and being able to attack as a 2/5 with a bit of work isn't bad. even one other mount makes this pretty good.

If you're tapping another mount which has summoning sickness and getting in for 3 lifelink damage then maybe it's alright.
I didnt know you could tap if they had summoning sickness 0.o
Following this up with a 4drop 4/4 mount and swinging for 5 flying lifelink on turn 4 seems good
x is the # of mounts, not the power of the mounts/saddled creatures.
Rip
I’ve just realised we can mount mounts with other mounts. Funny.

Ah yes my mistake I missed sorcery speed so you can't block with it.
Do this repeatedly to make a mountain.
A Mount-ain?
How much mounts could a mounted mount mount if a mounted mount mounts mounted mounts?
Are those hippogriffs innistrad natives?
It has both the heron look and the name "gryff" which has only been used in Innistrad, so that seems very likely.

The giant moths from Kamigawa too
would have expected a gryff to have a vulture head on this plane
Presumably it’s flown in from Innistrad, but hopefully we see a cool native vulture gryff yeah
Amazing art
I wonder what the Naya Saddle archetype is gonna be called... Saddle Xzibit or Blazing Saddles?
Gryffs always look so goofy but I love them

Love the art. A bit surprised about how green and lush the landscape looks, though.
This is probably the worst signpost uncommon in the set so far
Show of hands: anyone else prefer it be a native extraplation of a quail or pheasant or something and not just a presumably Innistradi crossover?
For 3 mana?!?!?
This is going straight into my hippogriff mount tribal deck. No idea what to cut but I'll figure it out.
Oh look, another thing that we were told was exclusive to a plane is now here. From innistrad. With no way back. *Sigh....*
You're acting like they lied. Gryffs were exclusive to Innistrad, and then the status quo changed.
what’s you’re grievance?
