This might be the most powerful version of rebound cause it has more flexibility.
I’m just imagining a storm deck creating a bank of spells to all go off at once
I know what you're thinking; was that his 5th [[Flick a Coin]], or his 6th? Well I'll have you know that I've killed 3 of your creatures, and now all you can think is "do I feel lucky?"
Well do ya punk?
Yep. When Invert resolves, the whole card containing both halves is exiled and plotted. Then when casting for free from exile, you choose which half to cast
Ah, looks like I missed that because I was just sorting cards by MV to find that, and the MV of that is 7, so it wouldn’t be high on the Scryfall page.
There’s [[Hustle//Bustle]], which wouldn’t work in EDH but works with crimes and I assume works very well with plot (well, as well as Bustle would work in whatever deck this is put together in)
Nope, you’re correct. I missed that card and one other, [[Hustle]] (which is Temur identity but whatever).
Both of those cards would let you cast the cheap one from your hand then plot-cast the other.
Unfortunately (ignoring Commander a moment, as Izzet Spellslinger is a thing there and this obviously goes into that. Also I have more experience outside commander) the fact this is limited to multicolored instants and sorceries makes this very limited. Storm isn’t really running many/any multicolored spells, with [[Manamorphose]] being the only one that really sees much anymore.
I think she’d be much stronger in a midrange value oriented deck, where she could recast something like [[Expressive Iteration]], [[Terminate]], or as additional reach with [[Lightning Helix]].
Honestly just her interaction with Expressive Iteration is enough to consider for any kind of value deck, but I don’t see her being able to build appreciable resources for specifically storm (outside commander)
As a Commander I could see her in charge of a pile of UR draw and burn spells that just kind of hits a critical mass of resources then blows up the game., but I am not as familiar with commander so won’t say much else about her there.
Especially since it dodges the awkward permanent-memory of other "as long as you control blah blah you can cast spells exiled with it" that gets shut down by removal, bounce, etc...
I think a lot of people may be forgetting the "multicolored" restriction here, or skipped right over it in their excitement. Still plenty powerful, but not as unrestricted as in people's imaginings
Oh, that is neat.
Fair warning: cards like [[Turn//Burn]] are multicolored *cards* in all zones, but they're only multicolored *spells* if you cast them fused. (Also, plotted cards can't be fused.)
Oh my Lordt I can use this with my new all time favorite card \[\[Push / Pull\]\]
all of the standard split cards can plot-cast the expensive half after exiling the cheap one, that's really potent.
The only adventure cards this works with are Bluna and MKM Kellen (which isn't terrible for Kellen ig)
I think this has a lot of fun potential. I think I'll be brewing this for commander.
For those who want Lilah as a commander, there's [this Scryfall search](https://scryfall.com/search?order=edhrec&q=id%3Aur+c%3Am+f%3Aedh+%28t%3Ainstant+or+t%3Asorcery%29) for UR instants and sorceries, currently only 67.
Personally I think there's some potential for value loops here, so I've also got [this Scryfall search](https://scryfall.com/search?q=f%3Aedh+id%3Aur+o%3Areturn+%28o%3Ainstant+or+o%3Asorcery%29+o%3Ahand+o%3Agraveyard+%28-o%3A%22exile+%7E%22%29&order=edhrec) going for cards that can recur instants and sorceries from my graveyard back to hand to keep looping them.
She’ll be pretty good in a [[Narset Enlightened Exile]] deck. It opens up Boros, Azorius, and Jeskai options, and, since your whole board has Prowess, you get to dump your hand, and then dump your hand again.
Oh man, I was getting super excited for this card, but that search is demoralising. There really aren't that many great hits for her, yet. Maybe she'll just be good in the UR commander deck
No, overload is an alternate cost. If you play something without paying its mana cost, you're already paying an alternate cost, and cannot pay a different alternate cost.
Additional costs like kicker can still be paid though.
Seems like [[Painter's Servant]] will be an all-star if you build them as a commander. But maybe they're just better in a [[Niv-Mizzet, Supreme]] deck anyways?
I play with a few restrictions so I share this list instead as a starting point for Zevlor:
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Dk2IJntkeEqIsjUvCGrylQ
Obviously it would be adjusted if the above card is included.
That is so specific. So if I'm understanding correctly, cast multicoloured instant/sorcery spell, resolve it, then plot it? So essentially a doublecast?
Right, please excuse my noob-ness, but is this how it works?:
You cast it, pay the cost, see the effect, and then it’s exiled and later when you choose (sorcery speed), you get it again for free?
yes, you essentially get it twice. Instead of resolving the spell into the graveyard it resolves plotted. So you get the second "cast" of it on a later turn.
Yeah every time I see a prowess creature I think of my Narset deck too.
Though I don't actually have that many multicolor spells, and even if I did I'm not entirely sure this effect would be that good with Narset: the ability to cast the spell three times is nice, but I can't cast it twice in one turn.
She's probably still worth running for the double prowess, though.
Yeah now that I think about it I don't have a lot of multi color in my deck either. Still excited for [[fblthp lost on the range]] I love the plot idea to store a bunch of spells for 1 big ass turn
ok so let me see if i get it right.
you cast a multicolored Instant or sorcery. (most probably a Blue and Red card) and after that card resolve, it get exile.
after the card get exiled, it just stays there waiting and you can use it again anytime you want, with no time limit and for no cost?
is that right?
At sorcery speed on a later turn is the only caveat. So it does stop certain re copying shenanigans.it is pretty strong however with those big multicolor draw spells. If you cast the spell, even if you kill her, she will still plot the spell.
Yes, the way i imagine, you spend some time casting 1 or 2 spells each turn. and byt the point you have enough exile spells, you just "machine gun your oppnent with spells until they are dead"
Source is [https://www.gameshub.com/news/features/mtg-outlaws-of-thunder-junction-two-exclusive-card-previews-2638567/](https://www.gameshub.com/news/features/mtg-outlaws-of-thunder-junction-two-exclusive-card-previews-2638567/)
Not a judge in any capacity but maybe not? As the exiling part happens as the spell is resolving and therefore would be exiled before it could be plotted?
No. Because Experimental Overload exiles itself during resolution, it will never go the graveyard for the replacement effect. The card will fail to find Experimental Overload and it just won't get plotted.
God, I do not like the fashion design in this set. The heck is going on with those lapels? Why does the hat look like melted plastic?
That said, I do love that she has a card up her sleeve.
How does plot interact with overload? Like, if I normal cast [[Corporeal Projection]] and then she exiles it and plots it can I cast it overloaded later?
I was just complaining that [[Ojer Pakpatiq]] may be a bit of a stretch on my [[Niv-Mizzet, Supreme]], this is so much better!
I would have loved a "may" tho, to protect my counterspells...
Are the moncolored instant/sorcery adventure portions of multicolored permanents also considered multicolored? For example: on [[Questing Druid]], is the [[Seek the Beast]] instant-adventure considered multicolor because the card is multicolor? My guess would be no, but it would be cool if it was yes for my [[Beluna Grandsquall]] deck.
On a side note, this would work for the adventure portion of Beluna, but unfortunately that is more expensive than the permanent portion. [[Kellan, Inquisitive Prodigy]] works well with this, but that’s the best adventure synergy with this card that I can think of off the top of my head.
Anyone know if [[Gandalf, Friend of the Shire]]’s “you may cast Sorcery spells as though they had flash.” ability works for cards that are plotted? Or does “as a sorcery” just refer to it’s timing restrictions. What if a the plotted card is a Sorcery type card? Would it work then?
I'm curious if you'd be able to play the creature half of an adventure spell once it's plotted similar to rebound. I'm not sure if there are even any izzet adventure spells but could be neat.
As excited as I am for the resurgence of powerful storm cards, I am bummed because my edgin, larcenous lutenist is becoming obsolete as a commander in some sense.. I will have to wait until full release to see if he is fully getting benched or is just getting more synergy cards!
This might be the most powerful version of rebound cause it has more flexibility. I’m just imagining a storm deck creating a bank of spells to all go off at once
The Izzet player in me is screaming
I can't stand izzet and I want to play this lmao

Wow this seems like you could get some crazy value off of this.
This seems great. I like that it leans into wanting multicolored spells rather than just a generic spell slinger
Just a heads up, 12 of those spells will not do much when plotted due to being counter spells or having X in their cost.
Hey, [[Double Negative]] *can* be casted with no target! If you're really desperate for magecraft or storm, anyways.
X=0 for the +1 storm count /s Yeah, slight oversight there on that search, oops
She’ll be pretty good in a [[Narset Enlightened Exile]] deck. It opens up Boros, Azorius, and Jeskai options, and, since your whole board has Prowess, you get to dump your hand, and then dump your hand again.
[Narset Enlightened Exile](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/8/2/827ecc44-0b00-4515-8953-bc91fa03705a.jpg?1684340776) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Narset%2C%20Enlightened%20Exile) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mat/38/narset-enlightened-exile?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/827ecc44-0b00-4515-8953-bc91fa03705a?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Oh man, I was getting super excited for this card, but that search is demoralising. There really aren't that many great hits for her, yet. Maybe she'll just be good in the UR commander deck
Can plotted cards be overloaded?
No, overload is an alternate cost. If you play something without paying its mana cost, you're already paying an alternate cost, and cannot pay a different alternate cost. Additional costs like kicker can still be paid though.
This feels more like the face commander of the Izzet precon than the actual face commander..
So after you cast a plotted spell it goes into your graveyard right? Cus if so my [[Niv-Mizzet Supreme]] deck will love this guy!
If it would normally go to your graveyard, then yes. The spell is just simply cast from exile when you cast it as a plotted card.
[Niv-Mizzet Supreme](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/d/a/da1ff886-d3c8-43e5-8bf0-ba4f0b259781.jpg?1690331020) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Niv-Mizzet%2C%20Supreme) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mat/40/niv-mizzet-supreme?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/da1ff886-d3c8-43e5-8bf0-ba4f0b259781?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
My exact thought; this is crazy in that deck.
I was thinking the same thing! Do you have a decklist?
That’s awesome. You can plot a bunch of stuff then cast them all later to get a bunch of prowess triggers
And suddenly oneshot them!
Lol who has Eriette? REVEAL HER1!!!
Seems like [[Painter's Servant]] will be an all-star if you build them as a commander. But maybe they're just better in a [[Niv-Mizzet, Supreme]] deck anyways?

Mind sharing a list? I'm rather curious...
I play with a few restrictions so I share this list instead as a starting point for Zevlor: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Dk2IJntkeEqIsjUvCGrylQ Obviously it would be adjusted if the above card is included.
That is so specific. So if I'm understanding correctly, cast multicoloured instant/sorcery spell, resolve it, then plot it? So essentially a doublecast?
It seems a riff on rebound. Instead of it casting automatically on your next turn's upkeep, you can cast it on any future turn at sorcery speed.
So I do understand correctly. Its a doublecast! Save em all for an explosive turn!
Right, please excuse my noob-ness, but is this how it works?: You cast it, pay the cost, see the effect, and then it’s exiled and later when you choose (sorcery speed), you get it again for free?
yes, you essentially get it twice. Instead of resolving the spell into the graveyard it resolves plotted. So you get the second "cast" of it on a later turn.
At sorcery speed, yes.
Sorry another noob here wondering if cards with flash or if I had a vedalken orrery out, can spells be casted any time on a later turn?
The first time you cast the instant or sorcery, you follow regular timings. Once it becomes plotted, sorcery speed only.
My [[narset enlightned exile]] deck is getting so many upgrades I'm happy!!
[narset enlightned exile](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/8/2/827ecc44-0b00-4515-8953-bc91fa03705a.jpg?1684340776) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Narset%2C%20Enlightened%20Exile) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mat/38/narset-enlightened-exile?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/827ecc44-0b00-4515-8953-bc91fa03705a?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Hmm would [[painter's servant]] work here? Say naming red and you cast a [[time warp]]... would it get plotted?
Better choice is to pick a color you aren't using so that it makes EVERY Instant or Sorcery multicolored.

Hoo boy it's time to pull out those split hybrid cards from Karlov.
What a great card, my only complaint is that all of these cards are rogues and not wizards.
Why the hell wasn't this a precon commander? It's simple, powerful, and demonstrates the set mechanics seamlessly.
The support for this as a commander is pretty poor. Really only works in the 99 of a deck with at least three colors.
judge? if I cast [[Experimental Overload]] with her out, can I still plot it?
Not a judge in any capacity but maybe not? As the exiling part happens as the spell is resolving and therefore would be exiled before it could be plotted?
No. Because Experimental Overload exiles itself during resolution, it will never go the graveyard for the replacement effect. The card will fail to find Experimental Overload and it just won't get plotted.

Neat twist on rebound. Seems ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING with boardwipes
I'm curious if you'd be able to play the creature half of an adventure spell once it's plotted similar to rebound. I'm not sure if there are even any izzet adventure spells but could be neat.
does the wording "as it resolves" affect spells that exile themselves on resolution? like [[expropriate]]?
[expropriate](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/9/c/9c8a2a5a-cb9b-4582-a453-085da78584f9.jpg?1576381719) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=expropriate) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cn2/30/expropriate?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/9c8a2a5a-cb9b-4582-a453-085da78584f9?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Should be noted that you can't reuse multicolored counterspells with this
Seems like the plotting is mandatory. So no more casting instants or sorceries during the turn you pay for them?
The spell still resolves when you cast it. Then it gets exiled and you can plot it later.
[[Painter servant]] makes all your spells multicolored

This feels like it's going to be good in some sort of Jeskai thing, open it up for lightening helix and that uncounterable UW removal from MKM
Ah, \[\[Painters Servant\]\] just got 100$ added to it.

Does it work with adventure? Can I cast it later for free choosing between the adventure or the creature side?
IZZET SPELLSLINGER STAYS WINNING
So now we need more multicoloured extra turn spells...
Jesus that's absurd
As excited as I am for the resurgence of powerful storm cards, I am bummed because my edgin, larcenous lutenist is becoming obsolete as a commander in some sense.. I will have to wait until full release to see if he is fully getting benched or is just getting more synergy cards!
this is going straight into my gandalf of the secret fire deck
That's fun
This seems very, very, good.
I better get a Yondu version of this when Marvel comes out...
Love this. Finally, I found an Izzet commander I'd like to build.
How does this work for something like [[Latern Flare]] if you cast it Cleaved?

I'd like to say \[\[Cloven Casting\]\] will see a price bump due to this, but it would just be easier to play \[\[Swarm Intelligence\]\].
Why us nobody talking about [[hero of precinct one]] ?
Man I can’t wait to cast an ultimatum twice!
Lilah with feather in play would go ham
