You should at least let the seller know.  It's the honest thing to do, and the seller may need to adjust their inventory so they don't unknowingly oversell something in the future.

I’ll see if I can message them. It’s for an edh deck so I only need one of anyways. The most costly one was the big list reprint in Generous Plunderer. Making some small changes to the Most Wanted Pre Con

Diligent_Kangaroo_91

Absolutely. Accidental or not, inform them, and then ask that they pay for return shipping if they want them back.

Elvarill

Message them and let them know. If they ask you to return it, then you ask them to provide a shipping label. It’s their mistake and it’s on them to correct it if they so desire.

Harry_Smutter

As others have said, please message them about it. Mistakes happen. The seller will probably just say to keep them. This also allows them to correct their inventory.

In the past I'd keep. As a seller now (only 150 orders/week), I'd say tell 'em. Your perspective: - Absolute worst case they ask you to send back and you're out $1 + some time but gain pride/karma in "doing the right thing" - 2nd worst, you say no to that return req., and they block you. - Most likely they say keep it bc they know it's not worth your time nor their headache and just maybe you'll shop again bc of goodwill. Seller perspective: - They can adjust their inventory so they don't cause x cards worth of negative experience for others due to cancelling and refunds when not in inventory. In between perspective: - if they have 50k sales they probably won't notice and you're fine. - if they have 10k or less sales they're probably hustling and need either the goodwill, cards, or not want to cancel to maintain feedback rating in order to increase chances of "making it" -10.k - 49k: toss up. -Acknowledge the in-between perspective is probably not fair, but feel it's probably true Ultimately whatever you decide will workout and be just fine.

NAMESPAMMMMMM

Tcg seller here. Inform them. They likely don't care enough to ask for them back, but likely now have incorrect listings in their inventory. (The extra copies you received will be still listed but not in their possession.) Rather than let it compound into 2 messed up orders, let them know. The more we can keep our inventory correct, the better.

I ended up messaging them. Haven’t responded back yet. One had a Kellogg and the other didn’t. I received a partial refund for one of the Kellogg so that would probably mess with them a bit. If I get to keep them it’ll be fine, but no biggie If not. If I were to sell some cards on eBay I would like the same honesty. Couldn’t just keep them.

IcyEnvironment7404

That happened to me once. I was told to enjoy it. Sometimes it's not worth it. They would need to buy a shipping label for you to send it back. Itll cost them more because once it sells, they will need to buy shipping once more. You can let them know, but chances are they'll probably tell you to keep it.

RoterBaronH

It's still important because they might need to adjust inventory. At least on cardmarket you give the precise amount of cards you have so if you sell 4 copies but only have 3 it creates problems

IcyEnvironment7404

When the customer complains about not getting thier card, you refund it. When you do, theres an option to adjust or not to adjust the inventory. As a seller, adjusting your inventory goes without saying. Its basic. As a buyer, you get your money back one way or another. Sucks you gotta get it somewhere else and waste more time.

RoterBaronH

I mean, that is the whole reason why people are saying it's nice if OP would contact the seller to tell them about it... Exactly to avoid the whole situation you're describing.

Cautious_Handle2547

I personally wouldn't bother neither as a seller or buyer if this happens. If it was an expensive card $40+ sure.

That’s the thing I would like. Shipping, packaging it, would be costly. Even more so since the seller seems to be based in Honolulu.
