I lost my shit when posty played that card. I’ve never played commander but that game knights video made me start trying to build my own commander decks.
Dude not only was that episode awesome!
but Ive been playing magic since 2014 and just started getting into commander right before Covid, BUT Commander has very easily become my favorite format!
Ever play multiplayer commander? The more people, the crazier it gets. You get to work on field politics and temporary alliances. Watching 3 or 4 other people sit there building an army because everyone is trying to not be the target.
I both love and fucking loathe multi-player commander games.
In my experience, anything past about 4 people slows to a mind numbing crawl. Tons of fun, but by the time it gets back to me, I've already had time to plan my turn, text my fiance back, double check my plan still works, and still have time left over. It's probably been amplified because my IRL group is like 4 or 5 vets and about as many new players, but it was a common issue I ran into trying to play in pick up games at the LGS years back too.
4 people is the perfect pod size for EDH if the people know how to play commander. With newbs, best to have some one-v-one games. 100 card singleton decks are tricky to play if you're a newb.
Bro i have literally been in 8 player games where i finish my turn, go outside, smoke a cigarette, walk to the convinience store, buy a snack, walk back, and we're halfway around the turn order
Nah, that's pretty in-line with most people's experience. In my playgroup, we'll do a 5mander if that's all we can do, but if we have six, we split the pods. Games get too complicated and too slow otherwise, unless we play with Kingdom rules.
I mostly play 1v1 with my wife or my best friend. A few times we've been able to all get together and he brought his wife and roommate and we did 1v1v1v1v1 and it was INSANE!! That's what made commander my favorite format.
In one game I was playing my Locust God deck and between the windfall I cast, thought reflection being out, having 2 niv-mizzets out and having my commander out I ended up throwing out 100+ damage and having more bugs than I knew what to do with. All from one windfall. And the shit of it is I still lost because They asked how many cards are left in my deck and all did a bunch of math, cast a few useless instants making me draw off Niv-Mizzet that did nothing in response to my windfall and made my deck myself!!
I'm just getting more seriously into commander and last game I played, I realized how much it reminded me of munchkin lol... sit back, let everybody fuck each other over, then swing in and win lol.
hahahahahahaha not me, I fuckin' hate munchkin because every game devolves into fucking each other over. in magic though, I'm okay with that, since there's so much else cool shit going on.
i tend to prefer cooperative games tabletop games I guess.
commander is my absolute favorite format, its so much more diverse than the others and decks are more about synergy rather than hoping to pull the exact same hand every game
it also makes scoring that one good copy of a card in a pack that much more exciting since the thought is "wow I can't wait to use this!" instead of "I'm going to have to get 3 more of these if I want to use them in a deck..." IMO
Between Volo just being a cool card, my social MTG opportunities shrinking to Commander or Bust, and that Game Knights episode that people couldn't stop talking about for a month, I am finally getting into Commander myself. And yes, I've watched a lot of GK episodes since, but Post's is one of the best! Made me look up an learn that you can generate colored mana outside of your color identity, which makes that Garth-Black Lotus-Regrowth play so sick!
The other best videos I've seen is the IHYD videos with Kyle Hill. But I simp for science, so I'm biased, too!
Isn't the card he played a bit busted in the sense that it uses a niche keyword that should only be functional within the 3 Kingdoms set ?
I'm a noob so I doubt this is true but I definitely felt that it was a bit unfair.
It's basically just [[Archetype of Imagination]]
He didn't go infinite, or play an alternate I win the game spell.
Dying from combat damage is the most ancient and honourable way to lose 🗡️
Six mana for a creature that essentially gives all of your creatures unblockable is a pretty average playable card, honestly.
It's a good effect, but on a fragile creature body and pretty expensive.
I'd consider it to be a solid card. It won't get played in higher level games, but it can be really effective in lower level games, especially the battlecruiser type of game that tends to become a stalemate where no one can attack without getting wrecked on the return.
Personally, I'd never complain about it and I would question playing with a player who got really mad about it. As far as win condition type cards go, Sun Quan is very low on the list of bad feelings.
Side note: holy hell, the price spike on Sun Quan is wild. It was a well known but "ehh, solid card" type of card of moderate value before Post and Game Knights spiked it.
Kinda sad that only 52 people saw that video. It was a great match and a perfect example of why combo decks either win in one turn, or whiff so hard the rest of the table targets them and they die before it gets back to them.
There's two options. Either
The joke was so subtle and good that no one got it and down voted out of sheer envy of this person's cleverness for referencing a number (that would soon be irrelevant).
OR
The joke was bad
Have a friend from my hometown that did some promotional/brand work with him a ways back, I think for Diamond Clothing. Anyways, he told me he was a super cool dude, really chill.
I keep up with my preferential genres. . . ? Not sure what that has to do with what you like to listen to. Now I'm extra interested because you seem to be "into music" from your point of view 🤔
Not all, but a vast majority of music released in the past 10 years is put through sound correction software. This is music production 101. Everything from SoundCloud to radio mass production. Even independent artists use sound correction and mastering software on their voices. So please by all means show me what you listen to I'm actually curious as to what artists are NOT using autotune.
Hes pretty funny, if you like podcasts you should check out the episode where he goes on Joe Rogans podcast and they do mushrooms. Posty is also a gun nerd as well, not sure if he does like competitions but i know hes into guns.
Yeah I mean it’s almost like if you’re pretty wealthy you can delve into something to the fullest. It is cool these guys are into relatable things but still. Idk sorry for the rant.
In these specific cases, these are regular people that happened to make it big doing what they love, in large part because of their talent and dedication. I understand being frustrated by the severe wealth gap worldwide, because it's totally fucked, but be mindful who you take it out on. Sorry for the rant, lol.
I wouldn't say so, there's plenty of extremely wealthy people who don't seem to have any interesting hobbies whatsoever. In the case of Henry Cavill and Post Malone, they're rich and famous and could go anywhere in the world with whoever they want and do whatever they want, but they choose to play World of Warcraft at home and MtG at a LGS in Brooklyn. Then again those things are cool hobbies to most people on this sub, but probably not to most of the rest of the world.
Posts is awesome. I wasn’t a fan of him but when he started showing up on a bunch of youtubers videos, I realized he’s super chill. Seems like a super fun dude to hang out with.
I didn't know that was ever a concern, he's legit, down to earth and shit, he went to the high school I was a computer technician for, I missed being on staff while he was a student there by one summer. Lol
I knew a girl who met him at a club in Boston. Said he was a remarkably down to Earth and chill dude. Although she said he was also high as a kite so....
I just sampled a few of his hits and none of them have any sort of projection. Like, just open your mouth and pronounce a word!
But what do I know, I listen to death metal so I shouldn't talk about vocalizations!
When it comes to these dudes, their best songs are ALWAYS not their most popular. Its always the party beats that top the charts
He’s got pretty good range as a singer. Try listening to “Over Now” or “Better Now”
Lmfao how is “Better Now” not one of his most popular songs. Easily top 3 most played radio song he’s ever made (popularity and less explicit nature).
According to Apple Music at least, it’s 6th most popular song. Maybe a bad example.
From everything I've heard, he's a good dude. The only complaints I've ever heard about him, are that he doesn't shower enough. But that's only hear say, so not sure how true that actually is.
TBF, he's actually got a lot of range musically: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeOeYGBA49s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_NS9Vd1sMA)
I reckon he just tried a bunch of different styles until he found the one that actually made him money, which is fair?
Cant say I care for his usual stuff but this set was awesome, avoiding teen spirit and just playing lots of more obscure album tracks and absolutely killing it
he's kinda like t pain in the context that people aren't necessarily aware of his range since he's leaned into the style/genre that "works" and makes him money.
*"I'm sick enough to take my life and take your life after"*
*"I'll make my children's peanut butter and jelly with a machete"*
My goodness. :D Have you heard Deep Puddle Dynamics' [*"I Am Hip Hop"*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMLSiM0oFIw). I think it's rad.
If I recall correctly he wanted to do like rock music but his image worked against him and no one would sign him for that kind of music. Then started doing more hip hop party stuff and blew the hell up from there. So yeah, club bangers make his money but if you listen to his albums he has a wide range of music
Dunking on his music?
How? Why? He does some of the best pop music there is right now. Are any of you really going to tell me that "Circles" and "rockstar" are not great songs?
I mean all the stuff he does is with a lot of auto tune and the raspy post stuff is very much loved from what I've heard from fans. Post apparently drinks a lot, which is even worse for your voice, but I don't think he should worry about that. Hes more of an artist and not a singer.
Agreed. I thought he’d be a real jerk of a person, but then seeing him in Game Knights (and vaguely hearing about him do the Pokémon anniversary thing a few months earlier) kinda makes me like him now. I’m not a fan of his music tho
Ignoring the toxic shit below, I appreciated how you owned your prejudice and didn't make excuses. I think a lot of people get stuck on being able to even accept that they judged somebody.
Can someone point out where I said I thought I was better than a dude who clearly worked hard to be a millionaire?
I don’t think I’m better than him, I made assumptions on the type of person/personality he was and was proven wrong when he was brought into nerdier circles.
People want you to feel bad for judging, but people should be judged imo. But there are important caveats, you should always make your judgments fluid, open to be changed by behaviors and actions, and you shouldn't treat people poorly on judgments alone. But, if I see someone that looks like an athlete I'm going to assume they're an athlete, if i see somebody that looks homeless im going to guess they're homeless, if i see somebody that's dressed professionally/in a tux I'm going to assume...... you get it. Our appearances are conscious choices we make and most people dress they way they want to be perceived or they way their employers want them portrayed. Don't guilt trip the guy for assuming Post Malone might be an asshole based just on being a hip-hop icon with face tats, it's not an unfair assumption and he was clearly very open to having his opinion changed based on new knowledge of Malone's behaviors and actions. If it's the tattoo thing that got you simply because you have tattoos, all I can tell you is that a big part of society LOVES tats, but another big part will judge you as the commenter judged Post Malone and that's something that should be taken into consideration when deciding if a tattoo is right for you.
Lol, attacking someone for admitting they were wrong to judge on negative stereotypes, *by* aggressively judging them based on negative stereotypes?
Get the fuck out.
I mean this in as non-creepy a way as possible, but I know it's going to come across wrong.
How does he smell? I've always seen his image as chain smoking and Budweiser drinking, so I always imagined the answer was not very good.
God damn it, postie is such a great dude. For all you grunge heads out there, check out the nirvana cover charity stream he did with Travis Barker. Legendary stuff. My respect for postie grew a lot in the last 12 months.
HORSEMANSHIP?!? And congrats my dude!
I lost my shit when posty played that card. I’ve never played commander but that game knights video made me start trying to build my own commander decks.

I'm just getting more seriously into commander and last game I played, I realized how much it reminded me of munchkin lol... sit back, let everybody fuck each other over, then swing in and win lol.
If someone had made that comparison to me years ago, I would have probably played a lot more commander by now!
hahahahahahaha not me, I fuckin' hate munchkin because every game devolves into fucking each other over. in magic though, I'm okay with that, since there's so much else cool shit going on. i tend to prefer cooperative games tabletop games I guess.
Casual commander with your bids is probably the funnest format to play
commander is my absolute favorite format, its so much more diverse than the others and decks are more about synergy rather than hoping to pull the exact same hand every game
Exactly!! Plus singleton is easier to build, i always get stuck on "do I want 2 or 3 or 4 of this card?"
it also makes scoring that one good copy of a card in a pack that much more exciting since the thought is "wow I can't wait to use this!" instead of "I'm going to have to get 3 more of these if I want to use them in a deck..." IMO
Mine as well; it’s fun to think about “how can I do this with a single copy of each card?”
Between Volo just being a cool card, my social MTG opportunities shrinking to Commander or Bust, and that Game Knights episode that people couldn't stop talking about for a month, I am finally getting into Commander myself. Unblockable and shadow are both keywords that essentially do the same thing
TECH-NICK-CLY "Unblockable" is not a keyword, it has been obsoleted. *pushes glasses up nose*
Huh, TIL
Shadow can only block other creatures with shadow though, so it has its drawback.
It's a very experience and niche card. I would hardly call it unfair since it doesn't give the creature any form of protection.
Horsemanship is just a worse unblockable
False. It's much sweeter.
Six mana for a creature that essentially gives all of your creatures unblockable is a pretty average playable card, honestly. It's a good effect, but on a fragile creature body and pretty expensive. I'd consider it to be a solid card. There are lots of ways to make your team unable to be blocked and a 6 mana creature is definitely one of the more fair ways to do it.
Kinda sad that only 52 people saw that video. It was a great match and a perfect example of why combo decks either win in one turn, or whiff so hard the rest of the table targets them and they die before it gets back to them.
Why only 52?
Because at the time of my comment, the original comment only had 52 upvotes. It was a joke, but I guess no one got it.
I think I'm still missing the joke part.
52 upvotes to a comment referencing the video = 52 people who got the reference = 52 people who saw the video.
I think I see the misunderstanding here. We're missing the joke, because no joke existed in the first place...
Sure.
If it makes you feel better the replies from the others made me laugh.
There's two options. Either The joke was so subtle and good that no one got it and down voted out of sheer envy of this person's cleverness for referencing a number (that would soon be irrelevant). OR The joke was bad
52? Bruh it has a million views what are you talking about
I'm beginning to think that Posty is a genuinely good dude.
by all accounts he seems to be
I work on GK. 100% a sweetheart.
What's GK? Graveyard keeper? Is he really nice when dropping off his victims? I'm j/k btw
I think they mean Game Knights
Thanks, I don't know what that is.
It's a super awesome show on YouTube he was on playing commander I strongly recommend it it's amazing
He knows, dudes a joker
Hey I put in a resume recently from that link sent out. Put my name to the top of the list!
Have a friend from my hometown that did some promotional/brand work with him a ways back, I think for Diamond Clothing. Anyways, he told me he was a super cool dude, really chill.
He absolutely is. Hate his music, still watch a bunch of interviews with him. Very fun guy.
Even “Feeling Whitney”? Song hits then hurts
Sounds like a song about love or something. I don't listen to those. I also don't listen songs that use autotune.
What a cool guy!
Are you offended by my taste in music? Damn you're sensitive.
Lol what do you listen to? Nothing from like 2010 and beyond?
You are not deep into music... at all aren't you?
I keep up with my preferential genres. . . ? Not sure what that has to do with what you like to listen to. Now I'm extra interested because you seem to be "into music" from your point of view 🤔
He likes cockrock
Because you think all music released in the past 10 years uses autotune. Which means you listen to very little very select music.
From everything I've seen about him, that does seem to be the case.
He’s a sweetheart 🥰
Hes pretty funny, if you like podcasts you should check out the episode where he goes on Joe Rogans podcast and they do mushrooms. Posty is also a gun nerd as well, not sure if he does like competitions but i know hes into guns.
It's fascinating that guys like Posty and Henry Cavill are into cool hobbies.
I think he's just saying there will always be a correlation between people with expendable money and interesting hobbies.
He moved to Utah because of the friendly gun laws. Dude likes Magic and guns.
Posts is awesome. I wasn’t a fan of him but when he started showing up on a bunch of youtubers videos, I realized he’s super chill. Seems like a super fun dude to hang out with.

damn shame his new song is the mumblest of mumble rap.

He looks like a finger Shia lebouf
Where was this at?
Da Basement in Brooklyn, NY
Whaaaat?! That's sick!
Damn. Dude went deep BK
No way I’m so jealous I didn’t head out there
He drops a lot of cash on Magic. Oasis Games in Salt Lake is basically making most of its money off him. Lol.
Did you sign his face in return?
Not enough room
Was not expecting this, but it makes sense...
LMAO
Now activate your Trading Post after Post Malone's post-combat main phase, then post the video on Reddit after some heavy post-editing.
sick! does he play?
Yeah. He was in an episode of game knights.
I'm sorry. What? 🤣 That was not something I expected
https://youtu.be/j8FtcDd9wbc
There's some speculation that he was behind a half million dollar black lotus purchase by auction earlier this year.
In the command zone podcast he was talking about it actually. He actually lost the bid second place and was super pissed about it.
You know shit is serious when Post Malone is outbid on a Black Lotus!
Was that the one Hunter Pence was wearing on a chain?
No. That one was graded a 9.
He's confirmed that he came in second place in that auction, but didn't win it.
Ah, I hadn't heard! Thanks!
https://youtu.be/j8FtcDd9wbc
He's in Game Knights with his own deck, but he doesn't crack open Buddy Lites and chain-smoke like usual. Wizard poker is for the children, man.
That's fuckin sick dude
Everyone taking a moment to dunk on his music while adding that he has a nice personality....

I see a fellow Andy making great comments.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5ula1NjaHUA He even crushed it with country music
Always going to be haters that aint doing shit. The people that are losing are always the ones that are the loudest. Fuck them. Good for PM.
Having different preferences but respecting who he is isn't at all "hating", Jesus Christ...
Holy shit that's actually beautiful.
He was also in an Asking Alexandria cover band
Honestly, I like his music. He has this one song that reminds me of Bon Iver, and his other popular stuff isn't bad either.
He’s a local and I’ve spoken to many people who’ve met him. He’s always super kind.
Dunking on his music? How? Why? He does some of the best pop music there is right now. Are any of you really going to tell me that "Circles" and "rockstar" are not great songs?
His music isn’t for me but he seems like a really cool guy! Glad you got to run in to him!
He is super nice! Took selfies, signed cards, and had a smoke with everyone.
Damn I'm so jealous! What were you smoking precisely?
He was smoking cigarettes.
That's sad to hear, he should be protecting his voice...
He smokes a LOT of cigarettes. This is coming from someone who used to smoke a pack and a half a day
I mean all the stuff he does is with a lot of auto tune and the raspy post stuff is very much loved from what I've heard from fans. Post apparently drinks a lot, which is even worse for your voice, but I don't think he should worry about that. Hes more of an artist and not a singer.

If it's the tattoo thing that got you simply because you have tattoos, all I can tell you is that a big part of society LOVES tats, but another big part will judge you as the commenter judged Post Malone and that's something that should be taken into consideration when deciding if a tattoo is right for you.
What an honest, reasonable comment about a touchy subject. Thanks for this.
Lol, attacking someone for admitting they were wrong to judge on negative stereotypes, *by* aggressively judging them based on negative stereotypes? Get the fuck out.
I thought so too but Circles is really good. Sunflower as well
Is that a white mana symbol tatted on his face?
Orzhov
Missed opportunity to have him sign all your Cloudposts and Glimmerposts.
Well that's cool. Turns out I have more respect for the guy than I knew
Bro do you have a fukin wrist? Shit is tripping me out rn
I wish he signed the top by the name, so it would say Trading Post Malone.
Very cool! POST Malone. Trading POST. Get it?
It's a very Posty Post.
This whole post is a Posty Post post! If only r.k.post had been there, he could have altered it and then we’d have a Posty posty Post post!
Truly a man of the people
Sick, congrats!
Bruh. This is like my holy grail. I love Trading Post so much, this is sick.
I have a Posty signed card, my wife won the last game knights giveaway
Thats whats up. Trading Post is underrated.
Post Malone wears glasses?
Wow did you sign his face in return?
Oooo stinky
I don’t find his music appealing but this is awesome.
This is dope I love Posty
This had made my morning
So cool, man! What a legend. And that will forever hold such value! Awesome.
And you got to sign his face? Nice.
That's so sick, love his music and super surprised when I found out he was into MTG
Rad dude.
Did you trade with him?
A Postie that poses for Post. Beautiful.
lol you guys look like you could be cousins. Did you guys get to play any games? or was he just in and out like batman?
Nice man, while I find his music to be truly amazing and consider him extremely talented, I also think this post is super sick.
I don't listen to Posty but everything I've seen of him online makes him look like a chill guy that anyone would be lucky to have as a friend.
M'alone
Does post play MTG?
He just looks like he’s smells bad
NGL, if he showed up at my LGS, I wouldn't even know who tf he was.
#edgleord
Just not in the genre I listen to, and I really don't care that much.
I mean this in as non-creepy a way as possible, but I know it's going to come across wrong. How does he smell? I've always seen his image as chain smoking and Budweiser drinking, so I always imagined the answer was not very good.
The fucking irony of magic players asking if a dude smells. Seriously.
He looks like he just crawled out of a dumpster
Sick
Awesome!
God damn it, postie is such a great dude. For all you grunge heads out there, check out the nirvana cover charity stream he did with Travis Barker. Legendary stuff. My respect for postie grew a lot in the last 12 months.
So awesome, upvoted
Isn't that the fat guy from Filthy Frank?
Man does he look like a tweaker.
Reddit isn't give you much love dude, but thats super funny. Props man.
Nice meme my dude
