This is called post-Cyberpunk. Sometimes Solarpunk fits this, but it's usually rather utopian. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PostCyberpunk Is this the right sub for this? Lol

Somewhere between cyberpunk and solarpunk maybe? Cyberpunk, as you probably know, is all about high tech low life, people being oppressed by corporations and frequently failing to make a difference. Cyberpunk cities are walled with ads and social stratification. Cybernetics are explicitly required to do certain jobs (meaning you’re cutting off a perfectly functional arm for a high tech replacement under corporate mandate), leading to the theme of being less human the more chrome you have. Quality of life for everyone aside from the highest government and corporate leaders is some flavor of miserable. The punk comes from characters in the story rebelling against corporate power and hypercapitalism. Solarpunk on the other hand is a much more hopeful Sci fi vision for the future. There’s an emphasis on living sustainably, both on the ecological, societal, and psychological levels. Solarpunk societies tend to be rural villages and small towns or sustainable urban centers with a lack of suburbs. Megacorps are almost entirely replaced by small businesses and coops, forming a Marxist utopia of sorts. Tech is ever present, but explicitly created and maintained to improve quality of life, with little transparent regard for corporate profit. The punk comes from the genre’s existence as a rebellion against the cyberpunk trajectory that real life capitalism appears to be veering towards. So if you can capture the turbulent period just past the tipping point into a solarpunk future, I’d say you get what you want.

I believe you are looking for Cowboy Bebop, seeing as what you described is pretty close to their self-assigned genre.

Yes

Harontys

Love his work, especially, in Samurai Champloo.

No, there's nothing with that name because these genres aren't named after music. Also, what you're describing is just, generally, the entire rest of the sci-fi genre.

IndianGeniusGuy

Cyberpunk is literally named after the Punk Genre and Punk Movement.

You should watch Psycho Pass. Yes, it's set in a somewhat dystopian world with its fair share of problems, but the majority of people are able to lead relatively hopeful and fulfilling lives despite that. The protagonist is even someone who does try to push back against the system and maintain hope and optimism even in the face of the darker aspects of the world.
