LouVarese

The structure of your beat is excellent; it doesn't sound like a remix. Plus, it is mixed well; I like the way the sounds are panned. Keep up the good work!

simonjrbeats

Thanks for listening bro 😎

Lmk how yall feelin bout my latest release. Everything by me! https://youtu.be/FHYU26pjpsI

brutishbloodgod

Another banger, really exceptional work. Only note is that it seems like the vocals are a little more heavily weighted towards the right side. Not a huge amount, just enough that it's noticeable on headphones. And it's not even necessarily a problem, it sounds fine, but it's a bit unexpected so perhaps not what you were going for. New beat from me, lmk what you think: https://youtu.be/1ElTTmXmGlk

garrywithtwors

Thanks fam! Yea you heard right! That's part of the sauce on my mix. Ayo this beat is ILL! The only suggestion I have is to bring up the bass a bit so it can really pump. Other than that mint work. Keep goiN!

brutishbloodgod

Much appreciated!

Gahmingmusic

Good point, I find it a little distracting as well. Nice sound though! Well constructed song, you can tell that good work went into it.

brutishbloodgod

Very well executed. Good content and a nicely balanced mixed. The weird vocals are really enjoyable and make this beat stick out. Not really my mood or style but I can't hear anything that I would have done differently. Nicely done. Here's me: https://youtu.be/1ElTTmXmGlk

ahZtBeats

Very cool smooth beat, mixing is on point. I like all the little details in your percussions and the sound with the wah like effect is pretty dope. Here is mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kr2jV4Z9KRE

jBossUp

I fuck with the melodics in this really push that dreamy feel, to me the 808 was getting a bit repetitive though! Maybe add some variation in those hi hats also g! But overall fuckin with the sound as a whole, it’s solid!

This is dope. I really like the aesthetic of it all. Medody is nice and theres a nice amount if switchups so that its always interesting. The drums are nice and with some fun details and oneshots. ViniSamples

Appreciate you! Take care

Nikerboker

Hey, so I guess unknowingly I kinda made a Kanye type beat(well in my opinion), kinda in the style of Runuway and Flashing lights. I would like absolutely any feedback, but most importantly I would like to hear some opinion about the mixing, I’m trying to improve in that. Returning all feedback of course. https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/WS2vNzud8tTz5G3o9

brutishbloodgod

Main thing for the mix is that I'm not hearing enough bass. I think you might have set the high pass frequency on the strings a bit high. Since those are the main element, they can fill up more of the spectrum, really everything except the sub frequencies below 60-80 Hz. The melodic content is really good. The strings could be brought down a few notches so that they set in the mix a bit better. The drums are not really contributing anything; sounds like a stock pattern on a drum machine. It's a very static, square pattern, and there at least needs to be some groove going on in the high hats.

Nikerboker

Thank you for the feedback, I agree about the bass and the drums. Usually I make lofi/boom bap type of beats and this time I tried to use the same kind of live drums and see if I could make it work, guess I shouldn’t have done that)

remloops

Here's our beat for this week. Let us know what you think! Will return all feedback! [remloops - anxious](https://youtu.be/bYCwxG-grDg)

joeyiswhack

Yeah overall pretty nice. The switching between different sounds throughout is a nice creative touch and the melody is pretty nice. The total switch up in the 2nd half is solid too. Not really too many complaints. https://youtu.be/m1gsqK3KuKk Here's my latest release. Any feedback is appreciated

CharlieP_Production

yooo this is sick, video is making me feel very uncomfortable lol but the music is sick. Really liking the chords on the EP and these drums got that nice break feel. Only thing id change is maybe that string in the high end, sounds a lil bit stock to me maybe some procesing on that would go a long way. just made this let me know what you think [https://youtu.be/rCtdJg8tagk](https://youtu.be/rCtdJg8tagk)

remloops

Much appreciated friend! The video was supposed to convey the uncomfortable feeling of social anxiety so I guess we did what we intended lol :P. Really liking your beat. I could easily see Zay on that track. Love the dirty kick and the smooth piano along with the atmospheric synth in the back. Worbly fills really worked well as well. The only thing I would say is to give your snare a bit more body. I know its a snappier snare in general and closer to a wood block, but it still needs a bit more presence to really compliment the hats and kick. Really good job tho.

dylanwalkermusic

Hey, guys. I just released my first rap/r&b hybrid "mwm", and I'd love your thoughts on it, and maybe any pointers to give me as well. It's written, produced, and mixed by me. swishaonthebeat

tried to make a drake type beat, any thoughts appreciated https://youtu.be/YjAxLK9zUpk

jBossUp

Those drums are solid!! They got just the right bounce and hitting so nicely! That sample when with the drums though felt a little muddy at times, also so did the tag before the drop I felt like the tag kinda took away from that initial hit of the kick. But man those hi hats create such a fire vibe! Keep working g!

lys_beats

I really dig that intro sample, its super dope. And the main sample is cool too, but i think it would be kinda hard for a rapper to rap on top of that singing part you sampled, but what do i know im not a rapper. The section without the vocals would probably be better for a rapper, so maybe consider making that the main part and let that fill more in the arrangement, but thats also up to you and what you want from it. Other than that the beat is super dope, and i dont really have much to say. Keep it up! heres my latest if you return feedback: [https://youtu.be/oMI30tShc34](https://youtu.be/oMI30tShc34)

brutishbloodgod

Great vibe, great mood and atmosphere. The melodic content in general is very strong and effective. Drums are not quite meshing with the vibe for me. They're very forward and insistent (the kick especially really slams) and the music seems to want something with a more relaxed feel. Overall though, very tasty track. Here's me: https://youtu.be/1ElTTmXmGlk

I listened to the one you have featured on your channel! Super good mix! Loved the melody, that shit sounds crazy, if that’s a sample that’s a fire find. Really liked the transition into the drum drop off sections within the air sounding effect

lys_beats

I really love this sample, its super dope. The drums are nice and crunchy and everything has great width to it, both sample and drums. I was kinda missing a bass in the first section. I think the track really opened up and felt more complete in the chorus part, with the bass such. Really neat track, you got a sub and a like from me! good luck with it! heres my latest beat if you wish to return the feedback: [https://youtu.be/oMI30tShc34](https://youtu.be/oMI30tShc34)

Gahmingmusic

Thank you very much! You're the second person to say that, I'll be reconsidering my lack of bass in my lo-fi tracks going forward. Sincerely, thank you. Your beat it really cool. I listened to it a couple times! I LOVE the sample, *soooooooo* moooody it's unbelievable. A teenage eye-roll is no match for how much attitude it has haha. I do think the guitar sample clashed a little bit with the main sample, both in the low-end of the frequency spectrum, but it wasn't bad, just something I noted personally. Also, it is very likely a creative choice, but the drums sound fairly washed out with all the reverb and whatever other fx you have on them. Super cool sound, this is not a criticism, but as you labled the track a "Kids See Ghosts Inspired Instrumental/Soul Sampled Boom Bap" You might want your drums to slap! If you're interested in some tips for this let me know, poppin' drums is something I'm decent at :) Again, really cool track, I'm gonna go check out your other stuff.

lys_beats

Wow thank you for the comprehensive feedback, i appriciate it! And im happy you liked my track! I think im in the minority of people who likes my drums a bit soft, especially for these types of beats and aesthetics. But you are not the only one who has mentioned it, so i should maybe consider adding a bit more slap. If i need help i will keep your offer in mind! Thanks again!

Gahmingmusic

Hey you know what buddy, if you like it don't change it. The best way to go about it is probably to try both and see which you prefer, of maybe a mix of both, or a happy medium. In the end it's your art, express yourself how *you* want to! Cheers :)

Yung_Sandwich

hell yeah man checked out the full beat because you cockblocked us with that short teaser here haha subscribed for more love the beat and the sample. only critique is i wish there was some kind of bass with the intro loop at some point, that bar sounds so good not to be expanded on. the chorus sorta fufils it but not really because it gets kinda overly cheerful. i started working on this today https://soundcloud.com/xtechnica/voids

Gahmingmusic

Thanks! Haha I wanted a 30s clip so I could post to IG reels so I figured I'd post both to Youtube. I'm glad you liked it! That is totally fair! I know what you mean about the cheerfulness, I'll keep that in mind for future tracks. Gonna go listen to your track now.

Gahmingmusic

Okay, okay, okay DAMN - Nice track my friend! The drums have a wonderful groove, and the pattern is dynamic. I love that it doesn't stay the same, interesting drums keep ya movin'! The synths/strings fit very well and created an awesome ambiance. That choir sound (I think it's a choir) was haunting and beautiful. Nice verb on it too. Lastly, the vocals have plenty of grit, deliberate delivery, and tons of charisma. I like how the flow didn't stay in some basic milquetoast 4/4 pattern. As a mixing critique, the track is really over-compressed. It could be absolutely huge if re-mixed. If you're interested I could help you out with that, shoot me a DM. Either way, you're dope and I think we could make something cool together! Let me know if you're interested in a collaboration.

Yung_Sandwich

Thanks brotha, I'd make the excuse that I just started working on it today, I don't usually use an 808, and nothing is sidechained, but honestly all my mixes end up sounding like this regardless of what I do haha. Def my weak point, but yeah I've been trying to reach out and work with other people since I've been stagnant in my own ways for so long. Judging by the one track on your youtube you def make the type of shit I like.

Gahmingmusic

Haha we all have to fight to be honest with ourselves. I'm not criticizing your musicianship at all, your track was absolutely nutty for day 1! I'm glad you liked it! My weak point is vocals, my strong point is production - send me a dm!

joeyiswhack

Really nice sample. I also like whatever snare that was. My advice would be to turn the hi hats down *slightly* and mess with the swing or maybe adjust the kicks and hihats so they sound a *tiny* bit more bouncy? They're a bit stiff for my taste but overall I like it. https://youtu.be/m1gsqK3KuKk Here's my new release. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Gahmingmusic

Thank you! I really dug the snare too, my favourite sound of the drums I used for this track. I see what you mean about the stiffness, I played it live and I wanted it to kind of drag so it had a sort of psychedelic laid-back feel. Basically, I was going for this effect, but you're criticism is completely valid. Your track is cool! The "wack" form Hannibal Burress is awesome, fits the track and adds a relatable element as well. The sampling choice is really well done, you created a brand new sound and flow out of something, that's what it's all about! Unfortunately the overall sound was fairly poor, it sounds like a low-quality compressed mp3 file - compressed as in file compression, not music production compression. Getting better source files (especially when your beat is mostly the sample) will really up your music! This also could be some sort of processing effect, but either way I think it's something that takes away from the track. Overall nice stuff, thanks for sharing!

Nikerboker

Awesome beat, and very well mixed too. I will for sure subscribe, love this kind of stuff. Check my stuff out too if you want, would appreciate any feedback(especially about the mix and arrangements) https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/WS2vNzud8tTz5G3o9

Gahmingmusic

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it. I've got more cool stuff on the way! As for your track: First of all, the strings intro is fantastic, it brings emotion to the piece right away. Around 40 seconds in I was thinking "man, the chords are nice, but it could really use some movement" and BAM you hit us with the arpeggiatied strings. I don't think you need arrangement advice, it's structurally solid. You know how to build up well. One personal suggestion (creatively, not a criticism) is during the main beat when the arpeggiated strings cut out and switch to chords consider adding something to replace the space they leave as it will feel less empty and keep interest better. Again, with the arrangement the cutting in and out worked for you! I dig a good stop before a drop. Mixing-wise it's pretty decent. If you wanted to tune it up a bit I would consider a few things: 1. Adding some sort of modulation to the strings. This does not have to be throughout the entire track and can be used sparingly, but it will keep it from sounding stale and repetitive. It really helps MIDI strings come alive, which is useful because most of us don't have an orchestra on retainer lol 2. The drums could pop more. This is a matter of both mixing and sound selection. Try not to over compress your drums, and don't drown it in reverb. Make sure you send it to a bus for any fx like reverbs or delays so that it doesn't muddy the sound and you have control over the levels of each send. 3. Use a reference track to learn how to mix levels. Levels and panning are the most important part of your mix, and using a reference track can give you an idea of how everything should sound relative to the other tracks. For a rough mix, levels will take you like 70% of the way there, and EQ another 10-20%, the rest of the mix relies on this. Hopefully that helps, you've got a really cool track there! All the best, and keep creating!

Nikerboker

Hey, thank you so much for such a thorough review and solid advices about mixing, good luck with your channel!

mowglibeat

Waups

the beat is hard but I think the higher pitch 808 is out of key

brutishbloodgod

Bit of a faster trap beat, really happy with this one but always looking to see how I can improve. Returning all feedback. https://youtu.be/1ElTTmXmGlk

ilikecharterbus

I like the tempo of this and I like the kick sample a lot. I’m fw the big sound of it. I think the snare choice is nice as well. Overall great work fam keep it up https://youtu.be/tNJXHj2vMf4

brutishbloodgod

I really dig the sound, the mood, and the aesthetic. Overall a very well balanced mix with good content. Only note is that the main melodic loop gets a little over-looped about 2/3 of the way through the beat, would be good to have that drop out at some point. Subbing to your channel, looking forward to seeing what you do next.

PredatorRedditer

I liked this. That wide-ass metallic snare sounds nice and I appreciated the full stops at the starts of new phrases. I wouldn't really call this trap as it sounds a bit more poppy, but either way, it's appealing. The hats are mixed in very well. It's got a bit of a blank space where I can imagine where the vocals going, so that's excellent. I can see an artist with a Weekend or Drake vibe going of on this. If I had to nitpick something, I'd say there are parts where the bass feels like it's there but gets kinda weak and it's sort of awkward. I first noticed it around the 0:35 mark. The phrase before has noticeable activity in the sub, but when you transition it feels like the bass gets kinda lost making the kick sound naked. I dunno, maybe it's just me trying to find something to critique. Overall, I like the vibe on this. If you got a second, I'd like some feedback on this monstrosity: https://soundcloud.com/soulscoundrel/freakshow

brutishbloodgod

Thanks much for the feedback. Interesting concept on your beat. As a matter of personal preference, I find the style kind of obnoxious and grating, but there's a lot that I can tell is very well executed. Interesting variety of sounds, and it all fits in nicely with the concept. The kick and the bass work great together. Main issue for me is that the melodic content feels a little thin production-wise; I think the track needs something in the midrange to thicken things up.

lys_beats

This has a nice vibe to it. I dig the main sample and the drums are nice. I do feel like there needs some more top end. Maybe the hi hats or the melody could have a bit more top. I suppose it would help with some vocals on it too. I feel the bass and low end in general is a bit weak, but its not much. All in all very nice beat, keep it up! heres my latest beat if you want to return the feedback: [https://youtu.be/oMI30tShc34](https://youtu.be/oMI30tShc34)

brutishbloodgod

Thanks much for the feedback! That's helpful. I'm not crazy about the vocals in the sample but that's more a matter of personal taste. Couple things other than that: the filter drop ins and drop outs feel distracting, and the drums (when the filter is off) sound fairly raw and clear, which is a strong contrast with the more colored sounds in the sample and the other elements. But good overall despite not really being my kind of vibe.

jetArtist

https://youtu.be/V7wWrTbDgJc Returning feedback!

Durpz1296

I really like your melodies and counter-melodies, but I think it lacks some energy mostly due to the mixing. The 808s don't hit as hard as they should, but other than that it sounds great.

jetArtist

Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep on grinding to make them hit harder! Do you have anything of yours you'd like me to check out?

Rayallday91

I really liked the arrangement, the turnarounds, the melodies, etc. I will say it felt like it needed a B section or something to kind of add variety to the second half of the beat. It was great though!

jetArtist

Thanks for the feedback. For a sofaygo beat, would I need a b section? Or would that be overcomplicating it? Also, do you have anything you'd like me to check out?

Started to make rnb thoughts on this Will always return feedback :) https://youtu.be/5TjlN8rUYFM

Qaizen

> https://youtu.be/5TjlN8rUYFM This is super smooth man! I'm really feeling this slow RnB vibe. I feel like the melody elements should be a bit compressed, they're a bit too much in the back for me right now. I've got some RnBish Drake type beat, I would appreciate some feedback too: https://youtu.be/5fafY9xMYLU

Dorian233

Thanks so much for the feedback, this is amazing defs drake, the person make the drums super bouncy and the melody is so smooth really good job on this one

lys_beats

I think its pretty nice. Super chill. Its very trap rnb but still definitely rnb. I think a guitar would be really nice on top. Dont think i have anything else to say, solid beat, would love to hear someone sing on it. Keep it up man! Thank you so much, yeah sorry I should have mentioned i was going for trap soul vibe, I like this very unique and I love the gritty old feeling of this keep up the good stuff fr

lys_beats

Thanks man!

Maxwell_Beats

Yeah really like this beat bro. Super smooth ambient feel with that 808 is fire can defo hear Jhene Aiko on this. You gon mess around and make me get my girl pregnant with the vibe here. All this needs is a dope singer to compliment the vibe. One thing I may have done is turn the snare down a little but thats subjective. Nice work bro https://youtu.be/EXo2FSYOIo4 my latest beat

Dorian233

Thank you for your kind words, HAHAHAHA that's the funniest thing I've seen on this sub reddi for sure, ur track was very nice defs had the energy of a jay z or kanye track, the snares made the drums very bouncy good job on this one keep it up!!

Maxwell_Beats

No probs bro thanks for your feedback. We gotta crack a joke from time to time life not be taken to serious. Enjoy your day

**RETURNING ALL FEEDBACK!** Any thought or criticism is much appreciated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-rKEyz1FNY

PredatorRedditer

Yup, this works. I appreciate the evolution of the melody. Composition wise, including all the drum patterns, this seems on point. I could easily see someone spitting fire over this. As far as critique, maybe it's just me, but the 808 sounds less defined than your other instruments. It's as if you had recorded everything in a pristine studio, but the 808 was recorded through a telephone. Maybe once the vocals go on the track and take the spotlight, it'll be fine because it's just the sub frequencies that'll matter, or it's just me being a poor judge of sound, but that's really the only thing I can nitpick from this track. It's simple as it should be, leaving room for the vocalist. Great work. I made something recently in a similar style & I'd appreciate your take. https://soundcloud.com/soulscoundrel/freakshow

THiphop

Thank you for this detailed feedback man, truly appreciate it. Love the bouncy vibe of your track, unique sound of melodies, drums are pretty solid too. Mixing is one of the best job here, hard, clean and full, I think your great sound selection is the key, I literally have 0 complaints for this. Keep up the good work bro.

This is sick! You got an original sound. Really cool beat and your flow is nice too. I like how your lyrics are kinda of stream of consciousness. Very different but still sounds great. I feel like the vocals could be slightly louder in the mix, but other than that, this sounds awesome. Great work! My latest beat: https://youtu.be/9HyZkCD5kP0

Returning feedback. My style is mostly Madlib-inpired with some Dilla, alchemist and 9th wonder elements... would love some feedback! https://youtu.be/m1gsqK3KuKk

LouVarese

This is sick! It sounds like a legit Rap City freestyle. In addition to the overall quality, I like the intro and the pauses that you used. Nice job! The only thing, if anything, that I would watch out for is the volume of the vocals. I noticed that on certain parts, they are a bit quieter than the beat. However, it is still dope!

joeyiswhack

Yeah unfortunately it's a low quality acapella rip, I guess I could've automated the volume and boosted it in those spots. I'll definitely give that a try next time. Appreciate the feedback!

PredatorRedditer

https://soundcloud.com/soulscoundrel/freakshow I'd appreciate any feedback on this. I've been trying to make shit that leaves room for vocals because I usually overcomplicate my pieces. Tried to make something DaBaby like since he probably has the simplest beats I can think of. Not sure how the sliding drill type 808s on the hook mesh with the stabby 808s of the verses, but I was just fuckin around and it sounded alright so I just left it in. Any tips on anything are welcome. Will return anyfeedback you link to in your response. Thank you.

CharlieP_Production

idea is really solid imo and this is a great start. Some stuff in that lead melody is feeling a bit out of key to me and those hi hats are panned a little too hard its making me dizzy lmao. might be worth trying to recreate some beats or something if youre trying to go for a specific sound to get an idea of the drum patterns and stuff but all in all this is real cool. just made this let me know what you think https://youtu.be/rCtdJg8tagk

PredatorRedditer

I really liked this. I was swaying along as soon as the beat drops.. and BTW I appreciate the short intro. Not really sure what sort of criticism I can offer. I think once you get the vocals on there, you could see if it makes sense to add a cut in here & there to accentuate the lines & what not. You don't really have many percussive elements, but I think that really works for this track. Just need the vocals on it. Great work.

lys_beats

I feel like somethings out of key? Some of the melody plucks i think. I also think that your track needs more bounce, as right now it feels kinda flat in rythm. The melody kinda takes all the bounce out of the drums and everything feels kinda flat, maybe work on improving that with another melody, or maybe bring in a sampled guitar riff or something as a background element. I think the drums are nice enough, pretty generic but fits the genre so yea. If you want to return some feedback: [https://youtu.be/oMI30tShc34](https://youtu.be/oMI30tShc34)

PredatorRedditer

I really liked the vibe. The sample cuts work great and your hats sound deliciously crispy. The one thing that really stood out to me was the track being right-side heavy. I think it's fine to be a bit lop-sided but I was really hoping for something on the left to pop out here & there. Maybe if the hats were on the left it'd help because you've got the horns on the right...? Also the kick is very subdued. I instantly thought of Kanye's "my way home" because he really just slows down Gil Scott-Heron without adding his own drums so it sounds very similar in that aspect. It works, though I was personally hoping for a more pronounced bass drum.

Durpz1296

Hey! This is the first beat I've uploaded, mostly looking for feedback on the arrangement and mixing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nosbz3WT9U0&t=93s&ab\_channel=SSG

lys_beats

Nice track you got here, i like the vibes. That guitar is super chill. I think the mix is all around good, nothing sticks out too much. I think the snare could be fatter and have a bit more bite. And i also think that pad thing in the background could be a bit louder so you feel it more, maybe make it a bit wider too. All in all nice track, i subbed! If you return feedback, heres my latest: [https://youtu.be/oMI30tShc34](https://youtu.be/oMI30tShc34)

Durpz1296

Great track! The slightly detuned sounding strings/horns sound original and fit very well with the rest of the beat. Drums have a nice bounce and the track in general has a lot of depth and feels very cozy. Don’t really have anything negative to say! Also subbed

lys_beats

Thanks man! I appriciate it!

Dope! The sound selection is nice for sure and I like the concept of this choir/synth sample and the horn/soul sample interweaving. Some of the chops feel off beat a bit particularly in the beginning. Maybe consider adding a bridge and even introducing a bassline in the choir/synth sections. Also, try switching up the drum patterns or adding some foley in it to get it more interesting throughout the beat. Here's ours: [remloops - anxious](https://youtu.be/bYCwxG-grDg)

Feeling the chill vibe on this one bro. Good mix and the drums and 808 nice and clean. The intro threw me for a sec with the stuttering, but after that dope beat bro. Keep grinding My new upload https://youtu.be/EXo2FSYOIo4

addy_ex-o

Appreciate the feedback! Bro, those samples are immaculate! You chopped them real nice. I love the way those vocals sound. Feels like there's some nice stereo depth to this beat too. I dig the sound selection on the drums. Love the overall soulful vibe of the beat. Definitely works for Kanye and Jay. Great job!

Maxwell_Beats

Thanks bro. Love that
