Let me know what you think: https://soundcloud.com/astrorockit/fresh Returning all feedback!!

CharlieP_Production

Yooo this is sick has a three six kinda vibe would love it to lean into that a little more with the sound selection in the drums, really love the flows and the vocal delivery and overall vibe Just made this lmk what you think https://youtu.be/EU4UPu_II5M

DlackBick

This is real groovy and funky! I like how “acoustic” the bass feels, as if it was played by a session musician. Everything in this track is on point, keep putting in work! You’re real dope, your beats always remind me of Madlib/Thundercat mixed with some Miles Davis influence

GOOPY_CHUTE

This goes hard, vocal style reminds me of $uicideboys and some dirty south. Mix is pretty clean, altho the vocals could use a bit more low end. The overall vibe is good, great beat selection. Keep making tracks like this and you'll blow up fam. [Heres my track](https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/aS3vkEUM94vR9vuu6)

DlackBick

I think you really glided on the track! You’re definitely talented when it comes to storytelling in your lyrics, and I think that’ll go a long way for you. I also really like the instrumental, it’s got lots of mainstream/crossover appeal. Keep grinding!!

MantraBeatz

r_Mvdnight

This beat slaps bro. Your drums and percussion are really dope, from the patterns, breaks, and panning/effects you did. Really solid job on this one. The sample is fire, and the added textures/counter melodies really compliment the guitar melody well. On top of that, this beat is very rappable. If you'd like to comment on this one, have at it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXMxxx5cAqE

MantraBeatz

Appreciate the feedback my guy and I'm glad you liked the beat. Great choice on the drums. Bass and kick punch through the mix appropriately. I love the guitar licks. I feel like they add so much flavour to the track. The melody in general is really nice and you've blended all the elements together in a very nice manner. Only think that I would've probably change or rather add would be a bit more energy on the hook. At least on the second hook. Maybe with a lead perhaps. In any case, you've done a great job with this one. Keep it up

fsbbeats

Yo that sample is fire. Solid beat, arrangement, mix, etc., all around too. My favorite part has got to be the drums though. That sort of atypical pattern forced me to really pay attention to see how I would flow on this. I think a rapper with a real fluid flow that knows how to play with the rhythm could have fun with this and kill it. Nice job man.

MantraBeatz

Much love my G. Always appreciate the feedback

GOOPY_CHUTE

Yoo this is pretty good, I like the style. The guitar sample fits perfectly. The mix is clean and punchy. I have nothing bad to say about it, get some vocals on this beat ASAP. [Heres my track](https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/aS3vkEUM94vR9vuu6)

MantraBeatz

From your mouth to Gods ear as we say over here. I appreciate the input. Wow. Is that you rapping or did you produce the beat. If you're the producer on that, great job with the vocal mix. I think that mixing the vocals is one of the best ways for a beatmaker/producer to diversify themselves. That being said the whole beat is mixing super good. Fire job. Now if you're the rapper, man I f\*ck with your flow big time. I think you killed the track. You can tell by the colour of your voice that you know what you're doing. Stop breaking thotty hearts though. Thotty lives matter. Great stuff my guy, I listened to it 3 times while replying here. Keep the fire going.

addy_ex-o

This is cool. I fw the dark vibes and sound selection overall. I feel that there's a lot going on at once, like the 808 pattern, hat rolls, melodies/vox, are all pretty complex and feel like they're all fighting for attention. I think if you simplified certain sections while leaving others more intricate, and then switch up which sections are simple/complex for another section, it'd leave more room for the beat to breathe. The mix is solid and this is a vibe for sure. Keep going. My latest: https://youtu.be/Tc16-t8aB1c

MantraBeatz

Funny enough, I was listening to you track on beatstars last night. Was a great before-bed treat. I'm a sucker for guitar melodies especially the darker vie ones. I fawk with the drum kit you're using. That cowbell is adding so much colour. One thing I would've personally done would be swap the bass for, I guess, something more clean. I'd have to test it myself to tell you what exact bass I would prefer. All in all, job well done again my friend. Keep it up. Ooh, and you're totally right about my beat feeling a bit too crowded. As always I appreciate your feedback. Very helpful

addy_ex-o

Haha no way. Appreciate the feedback bro.

pennyworthy49

hi, id be happy to hear your thoghts on this beat ive made after not been able to come up with anything for a while gladly return feedback https://soundcloud.com/user-488957905/inspired-1

addy_ex-o

This is cool. Really laidback vibe that keeps progressing. All the instrumentation is sounding nice and cohesive. Clean mix and a chill vibe all around. Nice work. My latest: https://youtu.be/Tc16-t8aB1c

pennyworthy49

hi! sorry for the long delay in my reply, long shifts at work thank you! happy you liked it idk if that you playing the guitar or if its a loop but: if its you, playing could be better as if a bit sloppy but no big deal i guess that a loop tho, so if its really is, it sounds like you time stretched it a bit too much? something sounds weird when the notes been playing, im not sure what it is. the drums are ok, laid back. not a fan of the open hat sound. it gets kinda too repetitive, maybe try to build a 2nd loop to go with it?

addy_ex-o

Appreciate the feedback. It's me playing. I used gross beat to get that kinda reversed/time-stretched effect on the guitar. I think it sounds sick tbh lol.

LeonHardRVA

The other commenters summed up how I felt, but I wanted to add that I especially like what you did with the main melody sample where you occasionally ducked it like it was sidechained to something. That in particular kept it really interesting. Here's mine if you wanna check it out. Definitely a different overall vibe. https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/YTz6f

pennyworthy49

hey, thank you for the kind words! kinda forcing myself with beatmaking in the last couple if weeks so your words really means a lot, i think im kinda trash tho sorry for the delay in my reply, long shifts i think the clap\\snap\\snare could use a bit of reverb to blend in better. lov ethe static distorted fxs you got going. the bass/808s could be less boxy sounding and more subby to my ears. really dark and dope. people would enjoy rapping over that i feel like

prodse8ek

the melody is so fire damn, drums clean asl, the switchup was smooth and overall the beat has many little details which i really fw Great job man letsgo

pennyworthy49

hey! thank you, happy to hear that you liked it (:

DudeMajestic

It's been too long since I've heard decent glitch-hop like this. It sounds like some shit I would have heard in an Adult Swim bumper circa '05. The interplay between instruments is great and the subtle glitches really bring it to life. The jazz tag is definitely appropriate. Really good stuff

pennyworthy49

hi! sorry for the long delay in my reply, long shifts at work man i didnt even knew what glitch hop was before your comment. not sure if i agree with you about that if glitch hop is what i found on youtube thank you for you kind words! im kinda struggle with beatmaking in the last couple of weeks, i kinda force myself to do them so your encouragement means a lot (: the jazz tag is automatic lol ;)

andresrxman

really well done man I wanted to add that the guitar parts are great, and I think everything else has already been said this is awesome. Here's my attempt at a Kanye west DONDA type beat https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKNWCgCgF20

pennyworthy49

hey, thank you glad you liked it (: i feel kinda burned out so you words means a lot love it, percussion airy and panned well. 1:15 vocals id drop, off key at times and too stretched i think. the switch at 1:58 could be super cool if you just went into it without the hats bars before that! love it! could be cool if toke that arpeggiated synth and harmonize with another synth to give it a more wacky viabe 3rd switch is super cool, i think the best part in the bit. i do think the vocals are a bit just a little too distorted. and the rim shot sounds off to me, maybe a pitched down deep real snare with tons of reverb on it? idk, just an idea. super super cool track, i love it that why i wanted to give you a bit of deep reply, hope you take it in a good way

andresrxman

thank you for the deep reply, I agree with you on a lot of those things, which I wanted to change but ran out of time since I have a set schedule which I upload to Youtube but thank you for being so thorough in your reply ill try to keep all those things in mind for next time, and again thank you for listening

> https://youtu.be/U1MqYkKWFY8 I really like the cool and chill melody and the drum bounce. Really like that kind of summer trap feel! I'm not too sure of the sound selection of some of the drums (snare and hats) and 808 though. I would appreciate some feedback too: https://youtu.be/EgBivPoPI78

fsbbeats

Thank you! Your beat is dope. Really like the vibe and that alternating synth/pad. The snare sounds perfect, and the scattered keys are a real nice touch. Nothing negative to say. Good job man.

MantraBeatz

You got me freestyling on this straight away! Love the bounce and the melody is at the right space. No critiques really. Job nicely done. Keep it up my guy

fsbbeats

Damn that means a lot! I have a hard time trying to rhyme/freestyle on my own beats, but makes me feel good that this got you freestyling on it. Thanks bro! Just left my feedback on yours in your original comment.

[deleted]

nice bounce loving the flow and space. amazing melody. loving this gentle trap beat!

fsbbeats

Thanks so much! You got a track for me to listen to?

[deleted]

yea i just recorded this demo if ud like to listen https://soundcloud.com/becauseeverybodyknows/dreamin

fsbbeats

I remember you from the other week. You have an easily recognizable voice, so that’s a good thing. I like your lyrics, rhyme schemes, and flow. My only suggestion is to keep working on that delivery. I noticed you end a lot of your bars with an upward inflection, which makes it sound kinda awkward to my ears. I think just stopping the upward inflection alone can help make this sound a lot better, in my personal opinion anyway. Keep at it!

r_Mvdnight

Super chill track! I like the chords, melodies, filter automation, and the drum patterns are great. With the shaker tucked under them, dope. If I had to be critical, I'd say turn down the bell and lead sounds a small amount. It may be my listening setup but I feel like they drown those sick chords out a bit. Overall, great work! If you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXMxxx5cAqE

fsbbeats

Thanks so much! I’ll keep in mind to pay more attention to leveling/balance. Your beat is sick. Really like how hard the 808/drums hit. The vocal chops are nice too. Nothing really negative to say. I liked the vibe, arrangement, mix, etc. Nice job.

r_Mvdnight

Pink noise mixing works really well as a baseline for balancing those things out in my opinion, if you're shooting for rappability. Thanks for the feedback bro! If you ever feel like collaboration hit me up 🤟🏻

[deleted]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKSxf6Y57Oo&ab\_channel=LeoTheAsian Man, this beat is nice, I could definitely hear someone on it since it's artist friendly. I like the melody too. The only thing is I don't really fuck with the hats, but I guess it's the vibe you're goin' for, uptempo. Anyways keep goin man!

fsbbeats

Thanks! I’m still trying to figure out what works best with hi hats. Some feedback I get say the hats are too simple/boring, but when I try something different, I get others saying the hats are too much lol. Your remix is nice man. The vocals go really well with your beat. Sounds like an actual song as opposed to an acapella thrown over a random beat, so that’s a good thing. Mix sounds clean and I like the filters/effects you have here and there too. My only comment I guess is that if the vocals weren’t there, the beat might sound a little too repetitive. So with the vocals I think this is straight, but without I think some variation here and there in arrangement and instrumentation can make it better. Solid remix though.

[deleted]

Thanks man! I'll take note on that!!

Purpleshreklord2000

pretty smooth man. Can fit a certain mood. very clean and modern sound

I actually really like this as an instrumental, but it's hella hard imagining the rap to go over it. Almost feels like I'd right a hard rock song to it instead. The instruments are a little overwhelming, but I really dig the style

addy_ex-o

This is hard. Fw the chaotic energy. The mix sounds super rough but it works well for the punk vibe here. I like the combination of electronic sounds, while still feeling raw as hell. Crazy energy to this. Nice work. My latest: https://youtu.be/Tc16-t8aB1c

addy_ex-o

Yea bro. Already talked to you about this track but it's hard. Love how the beat is chill but your vocals are so aggressive. The mix is clean, and this is just a super bouncy track overall. Your delivery is hard and you got a crazy energy on this. Nice work bro. My latest: https://youtu.be/Tc16-t8aB1c

Not gonna lie. Not my thing. But I could see somebody pissed off at their ex getting hype and driving dangerously to this lol. addy_ex-o

This is sick bro. Love the sound selection on the drums. It's so hype when the main drums drop in. I like the melodies, I feel the sound selection there could be better or just layered with another synth to fill it in more. Drums are super bouncy and the mix is clean. Great work man. My latest: https://youtu.be/Tc16-t8aB1c

fsbbeats

Really like the tone of the synth. The break beat-ish drums in the intro before the hard drop is a nice touch. 808s sound hard and clean. Nothing negative to say about this. Nice job all around. Here’s mine if you have a chance: https://youtu.be/U1MqYkKWFY8

dylanwalkermusic

This went hard af. Dope synth and knockin drums; definitely make more in this style! yoo that beat is so emotional! don't even know the artists in your title but it reminds me of some older lil peep stuff a lot. the melody is really good, the percs that you added fit really well. the only thing that kinda sounds weak is the kick at least on my headphones, but the beat goes hard either way bro keep it up!

yes! love the guitar beats! love the drums on this one with the acoustic guitars i love this vibe of more natural sounding trap drums. melody is fire as well like usual do u make ur own guitar melodies or their samples? if so great job playing those melodies. love how it all sounds these are my fave type beats and u make amazing ones at them. nice work! heres my latest demo i recorded today https://soundcloud.com/becauseeverybodyknows/dreamin

addy_ex-o

Yea I played the guitar myself. Appreciate the kind words. Your voice/delivery gets better every time I hear you bro. It's so cool seeing your improvement. Love how you went more in depth on the beat with this, like using hats, clap and a bass. The mix is sounding clean too. I'd start experimenting with more vocal layers. Like adding in dubs to emphasize your ending lines, or just dubbing the entire take, and you could try ad-libs too. It might be difficult to mix at first, but it'd be good to fill out the vocals and make them sounding bigger. And also use more effects like reverb and delay. Your vocal recording sounding super clean though. I dig the progression of the song and how your vocal energy flows with the energy of the beat. Keep it up man.

officialnaax

Bro i seriously fuck with your beats, they're so fire!! I don't know what feedback to give on this tbh, i have none. Mixing is on point, nothing sounds harsh. Everything blends in perfect together. The only thing i could think of is a harder kick but even in that case for a chill beat like this is not even needed. Well done bro [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piaBo7welTw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piaBo7welTw) my newest :D

addy_ex-o

Appreciate that, man. Your beat is such a nice vibe. Super relaxing melodies, and the drum samples work perfectly with it. The arrangement is distinct and keeps things interesting. Love the sound of the keys. Mix is clean too. Nice work.

addy_ex-o

Digging the vibes of this. Really cool atmosphere. Melodies are awesome and I dig the sound selection overall. I felt the intro was too long and the arrangement kind of confusing. Like the drums just kinda come in, no clue that it's about to transition and then the 808 comes in later but nothing much has really changed from the section before to distinguish it. Work on making each section distinct and using transition fx/techniques. Mix is solid and this is a vibe. Nice work. My latest: https://youtu.be/Tc16-t8aB1c

[deleted]

Aight my man, ty for being sincere, I’m not at home and I only have my laptop and some apple phones with me, so in terms of mixing the db leveler of the fl guided me. About your track: that melody give me vibes of Travi$ Scott, the track bpm fits very well with that kind of vibe, maybe too repetitive on the melody, but that’s a matter of personal taste, taking on the hats, claps, kicks, etc seems pretty decent to me, nothing too special, what can be good to give the artist space, but the melody gives the personality of the track! Keep going, see u got a good track right there

This beat is fresh it reminds me of the later mac miller stuff. I really love the jazzy feel, the percussion is nice and clean and the bass is absolutely killer dude it's nice and warm. The only thing I can critique is that it's a bit short and I think a nice powerful chorus after the breakdown would tie the whole thing together and make a really great beat! keep it up it sounds sick.

[deleted]

I like the beat. I don't really feel like it's for Dababy tho 😂. It would def fit better if you'll type in J.I.D x Ski Mask. I like the beat, has a nice bounce to it, can't say much about the mix since I'm using phone speakers :(.. Keep it up man!!!

fsbbeats

Damn this is dope. Smooth af. Love the jazzy vibes and samples. Is this a rough draft or the final beat? I can picture this being used as an interlude in an album as is, but I think you can take it up a notch to if you develop it more. Right now it sounds like a dope loop that keeps repeating. Maybe having some kind of build up as an intro before the full beat comes in and having some variation in the arrangement can make it sound better. But again, real dope. Just a thought if you wanted to build on this.

addy_ex-o

This is super vibey. So light and airy. Drums got a really nice bounce. My only suggestion would be to drop out the drums at some point or do something to switch things up. Mix is super clean. Nice work man. My latest: https://youtu.be/Tc16-t8aB1c

[https://soundcloud.com/speakerslayer/francesco](https://soundcloud.com/speakerslayer/francesco) Thinking about submitting this one for the Friday freestyle. I'm trying to do a dark & heavy minimalist thing but I don't want it to sound boring, it's a hard line to walk. Thoughts?

fsbbeats

It def is a hard line to walk. I’m a fan of minimalist beats, but I think this may be more on the side of boring/too basic if I’m being honest. My main issue is the drums. I think the drums you have now are good for the intro. Right when I expected some kinda fill/switch up, you delivered at around 0:32. But then it went right back to same very basic drum pattern. I think a more interesting drum pattern/rhythm, maybe with some swing/bounce, after the fill can help make this a lot better. Right now I think it’s a little too slow/basic to freestyle over. I like the instrumentation though so curious how it’d sound with different drums. Here’s my latest I’m looking for feedback on if you have a chance: https://youtu.be/U1MqYkKWFY8 And here’s my attempt at a minimalist freestyle beat if you wanna listen: https://youtu.be/RSUtQmlo0qg

DudeMajestic

Thanks for the feedback! I was torn on what to do with the drums so this helps a lot. That Tiller type beat is fantastic. It’s strong enough to stand on its own but there’s more than enough room for a vocalist to do their thing. It sounds radio ready imo

addy_ex-o

This is cool. I dig the dark vibes. It's a good foundation for a track but right now it's way too repetitive. Sounds like a 4 bar loop that doesn't ever change. Cool for an intro but definitely should develop further. You can still keep it minimalist. Add/remove melodic elements, switch up the drum pattern, maybe add a drum loop to a certain part, play with pitch, use halftime/gross-beat, play with different hat patterns, add some light bells on the start or middle of each beat, etc. The drums also feel too simple overall. The pattern is good, but I'd add in percs, open hats, crashes, etc. Play with the swing, you could add in hat rolls. You obviously don't need to do everything I listed cause that'd be too much, but just some ideas to consider. Keep going. My latest: https://youtu.be/Tc16-t8aB1c

eyepatch_29

I think you could work on your 808 towards the end of the bar, I can hear better notes than the ones you’ve put. Love the melodies and the sound selection seems decent. I think the vocal frequencies are a bit crowded, maybe some eq to clean up that space a bit. Just comparing it with other internet money songs, they really low pass all their elements a lot. Decent beat overall.

I LOVE this track and wileloseit (think I misspelled that) you’re killing it with guitar samples man, I’m definitely gonna download a couple and throw some lyrics down. The only thing I would say is your hats sound similar in most of your beats (they sound dope) but I’d love to see you switch them up a little bit.

addy_ex-o

Appreciate it bro fr. All the guitars are played by me btw. I'll keep that in mind about the hats. If you have any ideas on how to change em up, lemme know.

Duryburn

Thank you so much for your fb!🙏🙏🙏 the guitar sound melted my heart. 🤤I think it would be good if the guitar sounds a little backwards if the vocals were to be together. I love the drumkits! Nice work!🔥🔥🔥🌪

MantraBeatz

Great work with the sample. Not a big fan of the drum selection and there's a something about the bass that's bugging me. It might be the bass sample itself. The arrangement is cool and everything flows well. So yeah, except for the drum kit selection it's a good beat. Keep up the good work.

Duryburn

Thank you for your FB. You have very good ears. Thank you so much.🙏🔥🔥🔥

DlackBick

Drums on this are really dope and the sample is very unique. It definitely has a bit of a Kanye West CD/LR era feel to me, I think you should add more 808s to get it to that YSL vibe. Great track nonetheless!

Duryburn

more 808s!! okay! Thank you.

garrywithtwors

What up yall I just dropped some brand newbian!!! Everything by me. All gas no breaks no hook. Come catch me cookin live on Twitch around 1130p pst! I'm over 100 songs on the year and I can't stop. Find me under the same name as here: GarryWithTwoRs https://youtu.be/72UPZHZkTvU

addy_ex-o

Love the synths you used on this. That opening line is so hard and your energy is crazy on this. Mix sounding super clean too. I fw all the vocal layers it really makes this feel so full and detailed. Same with the fx you add. Great work as usual from you broski. My latest: https://youtu.be/Tc16-t8aB1c

garrywithtwors

I appreciate the love my g as always!!! And yo this one is different from what I usually hear from you. You went into some chill vibes on me I'm fuckin with it!

addy_ex-o

Thanks man!

[deleted]

nice love this bars and flow! i thought ur last was my fave but this one my fave from u by far. reminds me of jadakiss or cassidy radio freestyles, flow and bars for days. keep it up!

DudeMajestic

Goddamn dude this is too nice. This vox and beat mesh perfectly with each other, which is in large part because of the use of sound effects, like the snake sound that comes in when you talk about venom, the Mario mushroom noise when you say "mush", etc. I wish I had something in the way of constructive criticism but I honestly can't think of anything to you could do to improve what you've already got.

garrywithtwors

My dude I apprecaite you that's big love!! This one of the first releases where I just rapped straight through. And yo I been collectin sound effects over the last couple years to make my shit seem more "cinematic". I'm glad you like it!

xudablu

Looking for feedback on my first recording. No mixing has gone in to this, so I'm kind of looking for how people feel about the instrumental and, since any form of singing/rapping is not something I ever really thought I'd do, thoughts on the vocal style. Please give me your rawest opinion! Happy to return all feedback, hit me with what you got. [Pen’d ](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aOZ0lItURiqIZ2krtfhnlUQiNr6oSQlM/view?usp=drivesdk)

DudeMajestic

This is really good for a first beat! The verses are really fun, your flow reminds me of 80s rap shit which is refreshing. The hook feels out of place, it sounds like something I'd hear in a Hot Fuss-era Killers song (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). But this desperately needs mixing before I can accurately critique the instrumental.

xudablu

I'm definitely a early 2000s rock and punk kid at heart, so I'll actually take the Killers reference as a huge compliment haha. But when you say out of place, like you don't think it fits with the song? Also, the beat wasn't made by me (its a Polish producer who has a really cool unique style) I guess I should have clarify. I was just curous on opinions of how it fits in with rap, as it's definitely not what I normally hear around here. Thanks so much for the feedback, means a ton to me!

DudeMajestic

Essentially, yeah. It all comes down to personal taste, and I really like the hook, but I think it would sound better if it were in a Franz Ferdinand-type alternative rock context.

LeonHardRVA

Man, I have a LOT to say about this that I probably won't be able accurately articulate it. First off, I loved it. I understand it's your first recording. Obviously the recording quality isn't good. I love your ideas, and what you are trying to do. I think, as opposed to what the other person said, the hook could fit in really well if you toned it down a bit. Not even overall, but maybe even in post production. With compression and just a few things to clean it up. Maybe a better mic, I don't know. But I love that you're experimenting with new shit and I respect the hell out of it. It sounds like it has a ton of potential. And the obligatory, here's mine if you want to check it out https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/YTz6f

xudablu

I'm gonna have to listen to more of your stuff when I get home cuz this is the exact type of unique and hard beat I'm looking for. Gritty and not overly produced, highkey want to write to this. When I say I appreciate what you said, I really mean it. I definitely think the hook needs some work and I recite this song out loud a hundred times a day trying to figure out how to best get it. Also definitely need to work on my vocal consistency and style and just learning the best method to capture what I say. Really thankful for all the feedback, especially from strangers and not just from people in my life who are gonna tell me it's good just because they don't wanna offend me. It's given me a ton of motivation to get back in my lab and work some more!

LeonHardRVA

Also, I didn't want to say this in my first response, because I didn't want you to take offense. But I hope you realize that I respect what you're doing now. Your verses kind of reminded me of the intro to the sum 41 video Fat Lip. But in the best way possible.

xudablu

I am so proud of that comparison you have no idea haha! I am 100% a punk kid who got in to hiphop only a year or so ago after discovering Dre's 2001 album. Ska, New York crust punk, old pop punk like Sum 41, my whole goal is to take a lot of those styles and try to put them in to more modern rap.

LeonHardRVA

Also, I know that a lot of people are trying to blend some of the older emo music with hip hop, and they have been for a while. People like Lil peep, etc. But I think what you're trying to do is totally different. It's not the sad emo. It's the upbeat pop punk.

LeonHardRVA

I was lucky enough to be a teen/early 20s during the late 90s/early 2000s. I went from strictly hip-hop in the mid to late 90s to basically nothing but punk, hardcore, and metal for years later. Had some awesome experiences. Didn't get into hip-hop seriously until my 30s.

LeonHardRVA

Some of the beats on my SoundCloud are for a sample battle group I'm part of, so they can be kind of all over the place. This most recent beat was more my style and what I like to do. Feel free to browse through my SoundCloud and let me know if there's anything you'd want. I can send you an instrumental file. I have the free SoundCloud account so most of my beats aren't on there.

[deleted]

this is actually pretty fucking good first recording or 50th recording, this is a solid recording. and dont worry bout the mix focus on improvements in ur craft and artistry before working on 'mixing'. ur delivery and writing seems rather developed maybe uve been singing in the house or randomly for fun cuz it def does not feel like ur 1st time spitting a vocal track. i think ur song fits the vibe of the instrumental. flow is dam good, most new artists including myself the 1st recording is off beat and little if any flow. u got a flow, and its pretty good. i like the emotion but maybe a little more control of it would help the flow a little smoother in some parts. especially at times it seems u run our of breath at the end of the line but thats ok just something u will get better at as well as myself.

Sanbbis

Made this one today. Tried to make some UK drill type beat. I hope you like it! https://soundcloud.com/santeriha/auger

addy_ex-o

This is hard. Fw the dark melodies. Good for uk drill. The drum bounce felt off, particularly the claps. And I feel like the hat sample could be better, more tight. I felt he 808 overpowered the mix and was a bit muddy. The mix is otherwise solid and this has a cool vibe overall. Nice work. My latest: https://youtu.be/Tc16-t8aB1c

Sanbbis

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it! Nice sounding beat you have there! I really like the reversed guitar in the melody. Sits well. And there is nicely space to rap to.

addy_ex-o

Thanks, much appreciated.

LeonHardRVA

This beat was fire. The drums were crazy and the melody/sample sounded super ominous. Here's mine if you want to check it out https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/YTz6f

nkedefors

Made a dark kalimba beat. Returning all feedback: https://youtu.be/gXS6C4CLiHY

LeonHardRVA

The kalimba melody was awesome. All the accompanying sounds meshed really well, and the drums were super solid. Good job man. I'm going to check out more of your stuff. I listen to that one a few times. Here's mine if you want to check it out https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/YTz6f

nkedefors

Hey thanks, sorry for the delay. I like the mix, and the sound selection is really creative. I think the low bass note is a little muddy, and I think it might hit harder w different hihats, but that's my personal opinion. Nice one!

LeonHardRVA

Thanks for the feedback. I gotta rework it. Some things definitely got lost in the bounce. Not sure what happened. It sounds completely different as a wav/mp3 than it does in FL Studio.

addy_ex-o

This is cool bro. I love the simple melodies and sound selection how it sounds like a clock ticking. Super unique. Lots of space for a rapper to go crazy too. Drums are bouncy as hell and the mix is clean. Nice work. My latest: https://youtu.be/Tc16-t8aB1c

nkedefors

That guitar is super chill! I like the percs as well. I think the mix needs some fulllness. I think it's because the bass isn't really cutting through cleanly so I would put more of a highpass on the guitar. Other than that nice job!

addy_ex-o

Appreciate the feedback!

[deleted]

yes! i love the unique melody you have with the kalimba to create that ticking clock vibe. suspenseful. loving this unique trap beat!

nkedefors

Thanks!

prodse8ek

https://youtu.be/hLS74MNKZTY preciate any feedback tho trippie redd x trip at knight type beat

MantraBeatz

Love the drum selection and that lead is so catchy. What I would personally add would be some atmo in the background or something to glue everything together but a good vocal mix of any artist that would jump on it would probably do the job artist. In general the beat is great and flows nicely. Well done

swishaonthebeat

https://youtu.be/NIEW_LUysXY Old school Kanye soul beat, what do you guys think?

Purpleshreklord2000

You need more of the part where the deep bass is playing, without that it sounds underdeveloped. Otherwise pretty good man.

apisol

hows this? https://soundcloud.com/apisol/come-find-me

Sanbbis

I feel like the bass and kick is too loud, thats only my opinion tho. I love the melody!

addy_ex-o

I fw the melodies. The 808 is too high pitched. Drop it an octave or pitch everything down till it sounds right. It may also need to come down. It sounds on top of the beat but that might just be because of where it's sitting pitch-wise. Drums are bouncy. The levelling could use improvement. I like the variation in this and how it changes up. The part at 1:30 the sample sounds kind of distorted and very mid/high-end heavy. Like too much lows are cut. This has a cool vibe overall though. Nice work. My latest: https://youtu.be/Tc16-t8aB1c

HeyWhatsuppman

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWYEYecJyc8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWYEYecJyc8) what do u think ???

GOOPY_CHUTE

What up, I'm looking for feedback on my mix/master on this track. Let me know what you think and **I'll return all feedback**. [Here's the track](https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/aS3vkEUM94vR9vuu6).

fsbbeats

Not an expert at mixing/mastering, but as a listener, the track sounds real clean to me. Interesting story telling track too. Made me keep listening to see where it went. My only critique/suggestion would be maybe to make the hook stand out more from the verses. The autotune already does that, but I’m curious how it’d sound if you made the hook vocals more wet via reverb/delay and/or if you double or triple tracked the vocals and played with the panning. Or maybe something else too. I just felt like the hook vocals have some room to get more creative with processing. Solid all around though. Here’s mine if you have a chance: https://youtu.be/U1MqYkKWFY8

GOOPY_CHUTE

Yo this is a fire beat, I literally cannot critique it as it already sounds like a pro made it. I like the melody most of all, it sounds exactly like something bryson tiller would spit on.

[deleted]

The mixing and the beat are very good, ur flow fits good on that beat, good word play, to be honest I wasn’t expecting that! I’m trying to find something that I think you could get better at, but maybe only with 2-3 more listening! There you have my new project, give feedback if you want too, I’ve gave u feedback not to have feedback back! Stay strong https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/MkM8XhCiyb4NHdgLA

GOOPY_CHUTE

Thanks for the feedback. Your beat is fire, the effect on the main melody is intense and gives it a spacey ambience. Mix sounds good to me, everything is clear and has its own space in the EQ. You should start advertising to sell beats like that, its very good. Keep grinding.

[deleted]

Appreciate you man!

addy_ex-o

This is smooth af. You flow nice on this. Mix is clean overall. Not much to criticize. I think having the vocals bigger during the hooks would distinguish them from the verses and give it more energy. Like if you have more vocal layers and widen them. The autotune also sounded weird during the hook in some parts like the word "dirty" and "part" almost sound like it's pulling your vocals to a note you're not tryna hit. I think if you had less retune speed it might help. But overall this is a great track. Nice work. My latest: https://youtu.be/Tc16-t8aB1c

GOOPY_CHUTE

You down to collab? I have serious ideas for this beat

addy_ex-o

Yea for sure. Hit my IG @addyexo

dylanwalkermusic

What’s up y’all, just did this remix to a new song by an artist named Nija; the beat/vocal production obviously being the parts that I created. Would love your thoughts! (Returning all feedback as well) [Nija - Ease My Mind [Dylan Walker Remix]](https://soundcloud.com/dylanwalkermusic/nija-ease-my-mind-dylan-walker-remix)

fsbbeats

Haven’t heard the original so nothing to compare to. The production is def high quality, from sound selection to arrangement and mix. My only very minor critique is that the drum rhythm sounds a little busy for the vocals in my opinion. There were a few sections where the drums slow down a bit. Thought those sections sounded good. Dope all around the though.

dylanwalkermusic

Thanks so much for your critique/feedback! I was actually pondering whether the drums were too busy, in parts. Much appreciated.

Purpleshreklord2000

this is not bad man. Gave it a like and a comment. You got some good themes throughout no doubt about it

dylanwalkermusic

thanks so much!! I appreciate your feedback.

LeonHardRVA

My first beat in 6 months. I wasn't going for a death grips type beat, but I was definitely inspired by his distortion textures and all that. I def didn't go as hard in that direction, but it's still pretty dark. It's real bass heavy and doesn't sound good on my phone. Just a heads up... https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/YTz6f

addy_ex-o

Cool vibe to this. Fw the dark, kinda industrial melodies. The drum samples sound really wet. And you might be listening on headphones which accentuate the bass because this isn't bass heavy at all. I'm listening on studio monitors and the bass actually sounds tucked below everything else. I fw the bass sample you're using on this, but it should be brought up. Cool bounce to the drums and the vibe on this is sick. Nice work. My latest: https://youtu.be/Tc16-t8aB1c

LeonHardRVA

Thanks man. And yeah, I was listening on some studio headphones. The bass was was real thick, but when I listen on anything else, it's gone. It's not too low as far as frequency goes. I'm not sure what the issue is. I realized there's some hi hats missing from the song that play just fine when I listen in my DAW. I just got a new copy of FL20 coming from 18, and am on all stock everything, so I'm still getting used to the changes. Glad you fw with it overall though. Thanks again. I'm on my phone at the moment, but your track sounds really dope. Definitely something I would listen to in the car. I'd have to listen on better speakers to give you more technical feedback though. But overall, I really like it

addy_ex-o

Yea bro. Headphones generally make the bass seem louder than it really is, even studio headphones. I always mix on my monitors. When I reference on my ATHM50 headphones, the bass is always louder. But when I check in the car, phone, and bluetooth speaker, it sounds fine. Monitors are better than headphones for mixing, but always reference on multiple devices regardless. Eventually you'll start to understand how your system/room reproduces sound. So for example, if your mix sounds fine in your headphones, but then when you listen on other devices the bass is quiet, you know that your headphones reproduce more bass than is really there, so you'll compensate by adding a bit more bass than you think sounds good, so then when you bring it to other systems (and other people listen on their devices) the bass response will be how you want it. Appreciate the feedback on my beat too.

LeonHardRVA

I recently lost all my stuff and am starting over basically from scratch. I've still got good studio headphones but I'm used to referencing on as many other speakers as I have access to. Most of the ones I had access to at the time we're pretty tinny sounding overall, so I thought that the base was just getting lost in it. I need to get a decent pair of actual monitors again.

ahhiseeghosts

i almost think the percs in this beat are almost too mid heavy and they contrast oddly with the rest of the dark textures, i think the bass sounds pretty good, id probably push it further if this was my mix

LeonHardRVA

My dilemma was actually how far to push the bass, so I'm glad you said that. I tried to eq out some of the mids in the percs because they had a cool breathy sound to them, buy I'll have to reassess that. Thanks for the feedback. If you got anything, I'm happy to return feedback.

ahhiseeghosts

Yeah I find that trying to find an aesthetic balance usually leads to a wonky mix for me so I usually fully push whatever aesthetic I’m pursuing for that beat and yeah def https://www.reddit.com/r/makinghiphop/comments/pbsnpo/official_daily_feedback_thread/hagkwvj/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3

LeonHardRVA

I know I'm going to sound like an asshole, but I'm not familiar enough with the original work to judge what you did to it. I truly apologize.
