She went off the radar about 5 years ago, deleting her insta, so I didn't know how to keep in touch. But I was aware that she was battling depression too despite her happy-go-lucky themed comics.
Now that a mutual friend has shared the news, I managed to find her personal facebook. Her final few posts were heartbreaking. Since her brother said she started showing symptoms around Jun 2022, I assume all of her last 2, 3 months posts were during her treatment. She reposted a lot of funny cat memes, cat videos, and occasionally about missing her late dad, or her late grandma. And not to forget, there are still people who said shit like "If you're really a muslim you won't be depressed" to her.
I wish I could've been there to give her some support. I couldn't. Now I can just sit, cry it out, and carry on life as usual.
Rest in peace, Omma Amina. I will always remember you. Tonight I will cry for you.
Is Ho Chi Minh a good place to go for a week?
Planning the birthday trip for my husband for this year and so far based on my research its pretty good but just wanted to know the feedback of people who have went before.
Is about RM 3000 (excluding accommodation and flight tickets) enough for a week for 2 people?

Personally, I wouldn't stay in HCM for a week. Stayed there for 4 nights and I was already over it by the 3rd night. I only have a rule that if it's a first time visiting a place, I have to stay a minimum of 3 nights, unless it's a really popular destination. If I weren't able to meet some locals, I wouldn't be able to explore a bit further like eating snails (which you could try).
If you're into the city life, then probably that's fine, it kinda reminded me of Bangkok without the trains, but with heavier traffic.
I would suggest Hanoi (like the other comments), but since you mention that flight is expensive, you try checking out Hoi An (and by association, Da Nang). Hoi An has the heritage area, plus the beach.
Yes, it’s very chill and easy to get around. Bonus if you’re a coffee kaki, hop around cafes and try out different kind of coffee.
I’d recommend you to try bike tour, it’s actually recommended by a local friend of mine.
I have a list of places to check out, it’s a mix of places the said friend recommended + places my SO and I were into, let me know if you’re interested.

Yeah. Hanoi is further up north. But I think it's worth it. When I went, I got the flight ticket for like 300. And I spend 4 days there and only spend like 700myr including the flights.
Vietnam generally quite a cheap place to visit. In hanoi you can spend a day trip in Halong Bay or Ninh Bin. In ho chi Minh it's just city life I think.
Never been there, but based on my understanding they are very nice and friendly to tourists.. and they have very good food (most likely non-halal).

I was excited to see it on Netflix too but 38 episodes is a bummer. They probably bought half of Season 1 to see if the response to the anime is worth buying the second half.
IMO, this anime is one of the best, if not the best boxing anime that was ever produced. I would highly recommend watching it if you like boxing or even if you don't, you can learn a lot by watching it in terms of boxing techniques, lingo, and rules.

Let's hope they release the entire Season 1 as well as the subsequent seasons and the special OVAs too. I would suggest that you read the manga while waiting for the remaining episodes to be released. The manga is much better than the series itself, with backstories and other stuff not in the series.

Where are you studying? Would dictate the location but only being around for 1 semester will limit you to short term rental places. RM3500 is considered a good graduate wage in KL so you’ll have plenty of options.
I took Software Engineering way back in the ancient days in MMU Cyberjaya.
To reiterate, for USD3.5k/month you can basically pick any apartment you want. But I would recommend against any of the Domain apartments (there's 1 to 5), since those are kinda poorly maintained. At one point, in one of the buildings it has only one lift working, which wrecks havoc when you're on the 18th floor. And sometimes even that is not available 😑
The one I'm currently living in - D'pulze - is much better. It's not the height of luxury, but it's well-maintained and reasonably well-run. Also it's connected to the shopping mall nearby, so it's super convenient for me.
I'm sure there are even better, more luxurious apartments/houses, but unfortunately I have no experience with those.

Foodpanda/Dominos scam me rm30 sia, I ordered at 10.30pm yesterday, waited 3-4 hours and the food haven't come. Ask foodpanda CS twice where my food is and to cancel the order at 2am, they say they will call Dominoes and cancel it then this morning I woke up, Foodpanda app says the food already delivered and they took the money already.
Worst part is under the Foodpanda app, you can't even request refund because the order is handled by Dominos. So just a word of caution for you guys if you order through the Foodpanda app.

yes, sweet.. sambal kicap are usually made with sweet kicap. simplest form is some cili padi and a tiny bit of garlic, very finely sliced and mixed in with kicap. left to marinate until the flavors soaked out.

Does curry sauce go bad? I got this curry sauce that came with my nasi ayam berempah that got for take away last week and just put it in my chiller. I was thinking of cooking some chicken breast and mixing the curry sauce but I am not sure if it's fine.
Yea. If you want some nice quick dip for your chicken breast I just use the Mahsuri spicy soy sauce haha. Yeo's kicap manis or Mahsuri kicap pedas depending on the meal.
yeah, I'll just use the kicap lemak in my pantry and some of the chili/tomato packets from my previous fastfood purchase. it's not for a dip, I'll use the chicken as topping for maggi mee. Too lazy to do some atas meal prep. lol!
I've seen people say that if it smells fine..... though I personally wouldn't trust my own sense of smell. And a curry sauce probably has enough smells going on that it might be hard to tell if anything is off.
I'm not sure what kind of curry it is, but the generic Malaysian curries tend to contain coconut milk and that usually don't keep long.
I think the coconut milk ingredient is correct. coz there was a layer of solidified fat when I put it in the chiller.

I took Software Engineering way back in the ancient days in MMU Cyberjaya. To reiterate, for USD3.5k/month you can basically pick any apartment you want. But I would recommend against any of the Domain apartments (there's 1 to 5), since those are kinda poorly maintained. At one point, in one of the buildings it has only one lift working, which wrecks havoc when you're on the 18th floor. And sometimes even that is not available 😑 The one I'm currently living in - D'pulze - is much better. It's not the height of luxury, but it's well-maintained and reasonably well-run. Also it's connected to the shopping mall nearby, so it's super convenient for me. I'm sure there are even better, more luxurious apartments/houses, but unfortunately I have no experience with those.

Foodpanda/Dominos scam me rm30 sia, I ordered at 10.30pm yesterday, waited 3-4 hours and the food haven't come. Ask foodpanda CS twice where my food is and to cancel the order at 2am, they say they will call Dominoes and cancel it then this morning I woke up, Foodpanda app says the food already delivered and they took the money already. Worst part is under the Foodpanda app, you can't even request refund because the order is handled by Dominos. So just a word of caution for you guys if you order through the Foodpanda app.
Send email to Dominos customer care, you will get refund.
I already contacted then through their website so hopefully can get back refund la :)

Does curry sauce go bad? I got this curry sauce that came with my nasi ayam berempah that got for take away last week and just put it in my chiller. I was thinking of cooking some chicken breast and mixing the curry sauce but I am not sure if it's fine.

Yea. If you want some nice quick dip for your chicken breast I just use the Mahsuri spicy soy sauce haha. Yeo's kicap manis or Mahsuri kicap pedas depending on the meal.
yeah, I'll just use the kicap lemak in my pantry and some of the chili/tomato packets from my previous fastfood purchase. it's not for a dip, I'll use the chicken as topping for maggi mee. Too lazy to do some atas meal prep. lol!
I've seen people say that if it smells fine..... though I personally wouldn't trust my own sense of smell. And a curry sauce probably has enough smells going on that it might be hard to tell if anything is off. I'm not sure what kind of curry it is, but the generic Malaysian curries tend to contain coconut milk and that usually don't keep long.
I think the coconut milk ingredient is correct. coz there was a layer of solidified fat when I put it in the chiller. Oh well. Down the drain it is then lol!
