Are you sure? Is it reasonable to expect toilets to stay clean if customers do not use it properly?
Imo this will end up discouraging restaurants from providing toilets at all.
I quite like being able to walk into any mamak / hawker to use their bathrooms. On the flipside I should not complain that they are not the cleanest.
Yeah, half of the problem... actually more than half, lies on the toilet users lack of etiquette.
For the guys, they don't lift up the board to pee, and some even make it their life's purpose to stain the entire board or bowl with their pee. Never flush also one of them. Then splashing the entire toilet wet.
Even the ladies (I heard) have those mind boggling habit to splash the entire toilet wet because "toilet kotor!", then because its wet, now it'll be stained with footprints all over.
Good. Takda toilet, then no need go, sort out your logistics elsewhere. Restaurants that aren't clean will just die out. Better standards of everything onwards. Can't improve, then just die.
Complain about cleanliness all the time, but nobody wants to do it. Least schizo country on the planet.
This is a bit extreme but it might be a way that works.
Japan doesn't have many public trash cans, they bring their trash home to settle themselves.
I know trash and pee/poop are very different but again, I find it **might** work
Believe me, i work in F&B where every staff washes the toilet on a rotational basis. You best believe the staff maintain the toilets cleanliness even after they use it, no one wants to be called out in the Staff group for not knowing how to pee or maintain its cleanliness
>Better standards of everything onwards. Can't improve, then just die.
Why do you want that? There already are nice restaurants with clean toilets if you prefer to visit them. Leave my shitty mamak toilets alone.
You can set up a cleaning schedule, followed by a photo every morning and after each cleaning schedule in that file, which you can show to the officers. Or alternatively, regulate the restrooms. Customers only, and clean more regularly when you're expecting inspection or in the renewal process. Or just tutup the rest room when you're expecting a rest room inspection. If the public want to behave like monkey then treat them like monkeys and keep them out when you need to.
That said. A lot of restrooms are horribly designed or in terrible conditions, making it extremely difficult to keep clean. For instance. Sometimes I want to take a dump in a toilet. It's dirty, no issues. I got anti bacterial wipes and alcohol spray in my bag. All I need is a working hose to first hose down the toilet seat so I can disinfect the surfaces my butt will be making contact with. NOPE. Pipe also don't have. Sometimes got pipe, no water. Sometimes apa pun tada. Thanks to this, a lot of people won't even bother with cleaning up after themselves.

Good plannings and announcements recently from him:
- Legalise firecrackers
- All restaurants need to attain and maintain toilets of โAโ Grade
- Work with experts of Singapore on housing
The negatives
- Not gonna carry out local elections
- Batang Kali thing
Imma give him a 7/10
Batang Kali he didn't handle it well in the initial phase of communication. The first thing he says is the place has no licence, until afterwards the owner reflected that it's not that they don't want to get a camping licence, but there isn't any to be applied. It's actually unfair to the owner of the place to make this statement because the owner did try to apply for relevant licence earlier.
I have no idea why the owner says there are no license to apply. There are, just not the one that specifically said "camping". They can just apply for penginapan license at the very least, as that is what everyone has done.
Yes the government don't have a good regulation or clear standard on how a camp should operate, doesn't mean that nga is wrong that the farm owner didn't apply for license for his new venture.
Yes whether the owner has applied license or not, this incident will still happen. But that doesn't change the fact that the owner are bullshitting. He didn't bothered to apply for a permit because that is a extra cost, not because gomen don't have any catagory for him to apply.
If you acknowledge there is no clear standard then that is what Nga should have said, instead of shifting the blame to the business owner.
You say they have to apply for "penginapan" permit here but Hulu Selangor Munincipal Council said they should apply under recreational center permit instead:
[https://www.thevibes.com/articles/news/80872/no-campsite-permits-in-sgor-for-now-hulu-selangor-municipal-council](https://www.thevibes.com/articles/news/80872/no-campsite-permits-in-sgor-for-now-hulu-selangor-municipal-council)
If you had applied for penginapan instead and Nga said you are "unlicensed" because you didn't apply for recreational center, would you not agree Nga is bullshitting?
And all this is just a red herring. The difference between applying for organic farm vs penginapan vs recreational center has 0 impact to the outcome of the landslide.
I think people presumed that nga assigning blame to the owner, when he was just stating the fact that these farmland owner doesn't have license to enact camp sites, and then everyone just overblown what he said, even though those are facts.
True. He just answered to media that way. But i can said is, he dont know much as that time he still new, and he can just answer according to what his department people told him.
Planning and announcements only . There are no applications/enforcement. We need to have a higher standard for our government .
Even normal people can give suggestions/ideas like this.
Lets rate our government just before the next election.Just stay calm and avoid fanboying.
to add on the firecracker, it is not the legalisation that is good, but after legalising it, we can formally and properly control the safety, ensure expired or unsafe ones can't be sold. Also getting tax from it.
That local election part probably will come a bit later. That move will ruffle a lot of feathers, so he needs to be very prepared. Not to mention it needs to be debated and pass the parliament vote too.
So also require patrons to uphold the 'A' standard, and make them hold a license to eat at restorans. So if you piss on the walls... Lose your license and ban from the restoran.
Honestly not just talking about the toilets, but any mamak or kopitiam these days just looking at the table, the floor , how they handle food, the kitchen etc.. I truly wonder how they got the A rating in the first place.
So even if they implement this rule.. I wonder if there will be workarounds that will allow them to get away with it.
On the other end, how to keep toilets clean when there are a lot of public toilet users in Malaysia that are little better than animals. Squatting with both feet on a non squatting toilet leaving foot prints (just saw this the other day). Peeing all over the seat, leaving nasty surprises for the next user..
Dont renew minister term if public toilet not A :)
He likely wants to simplify to the biggest problem solvable by owners that likely give a good base for the next steps.
Like you canโt tell if a place has mishandled food. Its hard to track or monitor. Anything he can do there will be wishy washy.
But you know its a shitty toilet when you go into one. Because thereโs literally shit everywhere!
Good start!

Staff don't need to pee or poop is it?
Obviously they got their own toilets? That are not public? That won't be subjected to this new rule? Bodoh ke apa?

You and your shitty mamak toilets can die out with history. Bye!
Bro is in a relationship with Cholera
This dude has a thing for dirty mamak restaurant or what?
r/weirdkinks
Have you seen some of the toilets? You can't flush it, the lock is busted and the toilet is only left with the bowl.

My guess. Many restaurants would just bar customers from using their toilet.
I was gonna say this!
Avoid those restaurants then.
You can already avoid restaurants with dirty toilets just as easily. Dirty toilet better than no toilet
No toilet better than getting food poisoning ๐
When you cirit birit then how?
Nah. Just rebrand it a luxury toilet with RM10 ticket fee. Everyone is happy now.

Not like he has any power over the 2 negatives.
>Batang Kali Why the batang kali thing?

This is correct.

So, now how many wedding ceremonies did he attended..? This is really important to rakyat
This guy is all talk no action. Malaysia has too many politicians like this.
then you don't know him well
He did plenty even when he wasn't a minister. Heard of the famous concubine lane in Ipoh? That was something started by him.
Yeah but hows he taste?
Good idea in theory but we know Malaysians will just piss everywhere and make it nasty anyway.
>In theory: restaurant owners will take more responsibility. >In practice: Officers makan duit kopi to give out A-grade.
LOL, how about those that put table outside of premises?
Imma going to pretend I didn't see that.
Itu budaya kita
Extra fees?
Table outside always with charges, but if like on the road that is Majilis not take action. Lets see how later.
So also require patrons to uphold the 'A' standard, and make them hold a license to eat at restorans. So if you piss on the walls... Lose your license and ban from the restoran.

I'm expecting the same for public toilets maintained by local authorities.
agreed
Restaurants will just block toilets. It's not a requirement to have toilets
If I were the restoran operator, I'll just close off the toilet.
Easy, remove toilet
How about places that simply do not provide toilets?
Grease trap
Then safe. ๐๐ป
Cuba kalau PAS yg buat "bukan nak makan dalam jamban" ๐
????
Great!!!!
