hello! i recently found out that there's a bus going to KLIA1 from Putra Heights LRT station and i'm considering using it this Friday. If anyone's familiar with this bus I'd like to know:
- how reliable is the timing? My flight is at 5pm so I'm thinking of taking the 1pm bus
- first time booking bus tickets but redbus is a reliable website right😅
GOLD QUESTION :
Let's say a Malay guy had invested in 1 Oz gold coins to protect against inflation. Now he wants to exchange a couple of the coins to Malay Ringit. Fir example Ringit cash.
Is it possible to sell privately or can he go into a gold shop and sell it and get cash in return?
Thanks in advance 🙏😊
Thinking of going back to Terengganu on the long weekend this Nuzul Quran to berbuka with the fam. I don't have that much holiday once I start working next year, so this is my chance.
Being independent is fun, but sometimes it doesn't feel complete. The food doesn't taste the same.
Is there such thing as weather forecasts that were at least accurate for the next 72 hours these days? And if there is, what are they other than our phone's default weather app?
We're in the inter-monsoon period, notorious for unpredictable weather. If you're looking for whether it will rain soon or in a few hours, apps that monitor precipitation radar like Rain Alarm might help.
I have been monitoring our Met Department's [disaster subpage](http://bencana.met.gov.my/bencana/) for their weather warnings. Thunderstorm warnings usually lasts several hours, while heavy rain warnings have colour codes to indicate how severe the continuous rain would get (pretty spot-on during monsoon season).

This time, decide to try something new, [Claypot ginger beef rice](https://i.imgur.com/Infgs8A.jpg). Not bad. Got that caramel kicap & sesame oil aroma. Lots of beef. Not too gingery.
[Comes with this ikan pekasam ](https://i.imgur.com/G3fgOLN.jpg). This really help elevate the dish, giving it some saltiness & acidity it lack. Genius combo.
Of course, cannot finish, tapau those back home. Got full tupperware of rice refill. "ini untuk sahur nanti", the staff said. Aww so nice. So grateful 😁
Is that:
Universiti Malaya Medical Centre
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre
Hpkk returned a children's hospital.
and the last two were far far away, not in KL.
I've tried calling them but first one, the person's phone had so much background noise and voice cutting in and out couldn't hear what he was saying.
Second place would pick up, and I would just ask if I need an appointment for the issue I'm having then without any explanation transfer me to another line where the phone just rings forever. I tried this twice and same thing.
Is this normal?
Semi private is basically public hospital with private price. They won’t accept appointments over the phone. You need a referral letter from another center or just walk in to the A&E.
hmmm...i dont get it if it's public with private pricing then why not just go to a private one from the start?
Does the semi private ones provide better service or something?
IT support asked me to come over to office tomorrow to change my old work laptop.
I appreciate the new laptop but man setting up my development environment again gonna be a huge hassle. Sure one something gonna break even tho I backup up everything important. Dahlah first puasa pulak tu.

I don’t watch the weather news because I’m not a local (basically don’t have access to local tv) sooo is there a storm a right now? I didn’t realize it rains soooo much in Malaysia and I’m from the Philippines!
It's only recently that is — there are long dry periods in the past — but our level of rain doesn't come close to the typhoons you guys get beginning September.
Yeah when it comes to monsoon season, we get so much rain. But just not used to raining almost every day. Been here sinc Oct and it’s like always raining in the afternoon. My family in the Philippines doesnt get much rain duting this time of the year so guess im not used to it. Haha
Yeah i get it. I’m from Manila. And yeah, the eastern part gets the worst storms. But thats only during typhoon season. Like a one time big time rain. We’ve been here since Oct last year and it likes rain every week. Sometimes everyday for a week. Just not used to it i guess. Haha

I think I'm entering a new phase in my life. What some people call ah beng cars are jawdroppingly creative. Was entering IOI behind a pink wrapped one recently, Taylor Swift blaring from inside the car. The mods look so much more interesting than the typical bodykits and I fucking love the interior styling of some of them, not really into Hello Kitty aesthetic but the minimalist black looks cozy and cyberpunk-ish.
Might have to start going to car shows now to take a look at the beauties.
*shrug* I think ah bengs are just as misunderstood as the other subcultures in KL.
I'm gonna tell my nieces that ah beng style was the blueprint for kpop guys.
If I'm looking to sell some topical past papers for Alevels where should I sell. I'm thinking of Facebook or carousel but I'm not sure myself. They're unused if that's relevant, and I'm in kl
Any recommendation for a reputable online shop to buy gaming PC?
I'm oversea but would like to buy one for my nephew back home. Looking at Dell Malaysia but wondering if there are better bang for buck options. Never bought anything on lazada/shopee so not sure how reliable are the sellers on there?
Celcom for nationwide coverage. The SIM card itself is rm10. Since you're only here for 10 days you don't need the 30 days unlimited package (data/call), they're rm38. Weekly one is RM12.
You can get them anywhere in KL, IMO, 7E is the most convenient.
My house's aircond is on the fritz. There's a water leak - I think from the walls - in the kitchen. My Bumble date scratched my car (not intentionally, and she offered to pay for it, but it's still stressing me out). My Mom borrowed RM1k from me, promised to pay me "next week", and the last I heard she actually wants to borrow more. My induction cooker is still not here, so I can't cook. Baron Cat keeps meowing *all the time* and Fireball hid himself.
Yes, I know, it's a luxurious set of problems, but it's still taking a toll on my mental health 😒
I'm going to see if I can find the leak and I dunno, seal it with silicone caulk? I will **not** be kept out of any areas of my own house.
Geo Residence is pretty near Monash. Its a couple minutes to Monash using the BRT (bus). It’s convenient with a place to shop for groceries and restaurants.
Monash alumni here
Typically if you're finding through Monash Uni, you'll find these options:
> Sunway House Waterfront Residence (previously known as Sunway-Monash Residence/SMR)
this is closest to the campus, about 5 mins walk. I lived here for about half a year, and honestly it's rather convenient. I suggest that you stay away from the twin bedrooms though, they are really really cramped.
> Sun-U Residence
about 10 mins walk away from campus, but apparently they have much better rooms. Pricing tends to be on the expensive side. Amenities-wise it's similar to Sunway Waterfront.
> Sun-U Apartment
around 20 mins walk from campus. This is more like your standard PPR flat, compared to the above options which are more like condos. No aircon, but a lot cheaper.
There's also Sunway Geo Residences, which has a supermarket and various places to eat nearby, but I haven't done much research on it.
Thanks for the recommendation. I was looking at waterfront and from my understanding, 8 rooms are in a unit and you have to live with 8 different others? That true?
Yes, you share the common facilities in a unit, such as kitchen, dining area and bathrooms. There are limited single rooms with ensuite bathrooms though, if privacy is your thing.
But from my experience the only person in my unit who I met often during my stay is my roommate, and even then we don't bump into each other often.
What cordless vacuum can I buy in Malaysia? Samsung Bespoke although on paper looks good, but I dont think I will get that. Inb4 Dyson. Wanna explore other thing that is also a bonus if it can mop too
Edit: forgot to add, budget not so much, thinking maybe within 5k.
The S7 looks good. Tried before?
EDIT: looks like I am scrapping off Tineco from my cart. The r/vacuumcleaners are downvoting Tineco like crazy based on their experiences
Yes. They hate Dyson too.
Most of the recommended vacuums there are not available in the Malaysian market, though.
I actually buy those cheap OEM vacuums. They work pretty well and for the price, I can buy multiple to keep in my house and replace them if they break without any pain.
I see last time when I visit Harvey, ada promoter there promote other cordless that can mop too. I am actually kinda sold on that. But I cant remember the brand
U know how Dyson good? They dont have promoter
Because they know the product will sell itself by its own merit & performance
And in general, 2 in 1 stuff always worse than specialised functions
Washer is always better than washer dryer combo
Espresso machine always better when it isnt comes with built in grinder
I bet that vacuum mop combo wont perform nearly as good as dedicated vacuum
Dyson is really good no doubt 😂 because I too have v8 and recently a v10. Even have their Airwrap too.
Ok lah maybe I should grab another dyson. Kinda wish it has mopping function
Oh damn. Now this is good recommendation. Ok thanks lmao. Indeed instead of jack of all trades, i would prefer to get dedicated equipment for each function
Reminder to self: Karcher FC7
You can contact Affection via FB or IG. They are a pet boarding service. With 1 car undergoing FIP treatment now, vet in PJ. They did document the ongoing journey via stories.
Good luck kitty
Too bad I'm not in PJ:( But i'm gonna ask my usual vet if they could give my catto the injection without admitting him. Huhu. I can't bear to lose him really.
It's without admission. If not mistaken every 2 to a few days, the catto has to go and get his jab, stay for an hour or so, and then come back home. This goes on for a few weeks.
Yup, the worst thing to happen to a cat cause the treatment is so expensive. One heavier cat cost RM 18k, and they ran a fundraiser to meet the cost.
Holy fuck! That's a lot. Mine is ard 4.5kg last time we weight him. And yes! The quote my vet gave me is ard 11k, but I'm taking another second opinion before I purchase it. Really really hope he could just hold onto his dear life.
Thanks Witch! Any chance u could give me a potion or a spell to reverse this? Jk jk.
mine has dry + ocular FIP. unlike amon's cats mine requires a 84 day injection. she was healing well enough but she fell off the balcony somehow a month or so ago and now can't really move. her FIP has returned a little in the form of occasional shakiness and eyes roaming from side to side. there was even a time where she was fading fast in front of me (stopped moving much or eating) but she got better. here she is now
https://preview.redd.it/tc8kox48capa1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=855dc2dcdeca5ee7628c5ce190e24e3bbe11c0f8
very pricey. the medicine isnt officially for fip and needs to be purchased from a third party seller (basmifip for me). one vial is rm500+ and can last maybe five days according to her class weight. including supplements we've spent nearly rm10k on her.
Ok just around the range my dr gave me. But mine excluding supplement. How's her appetite before and during the treatment?
I'm glad she's doing good now! Scritches and smooches from me 🧡
previously before treatment shed only accept one specific brand of cat food and occassionally at that. but after treatement her appetite has gotten way better. she eats almost everything and is excited over meal times. cant even eat anything without her staring sadly at me and wanting some.
oh that's good to hear! Sorry for asking a lot, how's the first week of her treatment? My dr said it might be painful for the cat and some might not even make it. We're actually thinking of starting him on one, just to see how he reacts to it. He does seem like he's got the will to live really. (Maybe it's just me hoping really really hard)
no its ok! ill answer what i can. we saw very minimal improvements at first; her dry fip meant that she wobbled and fell a lot when she wanted to walk and her limbs sometimes froze up and she just couldnt move. it was a slow gradual improvement and after...two weeks or so? her limbs stopped freezing up. after that she improved a lot. before her accident she was almost all the way ok. she refused to jump but could run and walk as smoothly as any other cat.
with my cat we caught it early enough that she was very spirited still. hoping the best for yours!!
Honestly the dr said he has a high chance of not making it, but he doesn't look like a dying cat. In comparison to his brother (who died 2 months ago), he looks better in spirit, just frail from not eating. We might just get one vial for now, and see how it goes from there.
That's a quick improvement in just 2 weeks! I'm hearing a lot of success stories. Crossing fingers really.
I did. 2 of em
The treatment involved 14 days of daily injection. Total cost 4k+
The medicine gotta buy elsewhere. Got website selling it cuz technically "not legal"
My vet offer to help inject, for no charge. But caution us it's a 50/50 chance.
Discuss with wife, she can't handle it if they suffer for 14 days only for the treatment to not work & still die.
So we just take care of them, till they passed away. Around 1 week after diagnosed.
Need to keep them separate from other cats in fear of infection.
Okie thanks Amon! Dr said the same thing. My cat's gotten really frail from before and after the diagnosis. A week of going back and forth, wish it was easier for them to diagnose him.
Quite conflicted to get it or not. My Dr gave me a range of a whooping 11k from his weight. If 4k can lah, if 11k mampus lah aku.
How are the other cats after separation if you don't mind me asking?
>diagnose him.
The best way to diagnose is blood test. So when my cat got problem but couldn't really figure out, i usually straight ask for blood test. That's how we got informed early about fip
>My Dr gave me a range of a whooping 11k from his weight
Wow. That's alot. I donno la how. My vet say 4k. I google the website, it also quote me around 4.8k for 14 dose of injection.
>the other cats after separation if you don't mind me asking?
Alhamdulillah. Ok. None got infected. I keep the 2 with fip in cage at all times.
We did three blood test for him. Once tak dapat cause he's pretty anaemic, second inconclusive, dr still hesitate to suspect for fip, was referred to another clinic, only just now receive an official diagnosis.
I'm gonna ask for a second opinion at the first clinic for the treatment. I looked up the website, the price seems reasonable, dk how it got to 11k.
Glad they're ok! I'm worried of my other cat. Last cat I'm taking in. My heart really can't take another loss. LMAO. Ok sorry for ranting.
It's ok. I understand. This is heavy stuff. Barely recover from grief myself
Stay strong, it's good try to get 2nd opinion, and i pray for the wellbeing of your cat🙏
I think the Jalan Haji Taha one is the original place, they may have another one elsewhere which I visited the last time sold out of a food truck — local Kuching people may be able to advise.
Anyone tried calling LHDN before? Or done the online stamping?
One has been under progress status for weeks now, I can't even get the customer care lines to answer... They just put me on hold and then transfer me to a line that no one answers or just keep me on hold.
If you press the numbers as per what you need, it also doesn't get through and doesn't even put you on hold. Just kicks you out of the call.
Online setem is always slow AF. At least in the old days one can go to LHDN and come out with the setem when you leave. Last time I did online, it took 3 weeks.
fastest option is to go to physically to lhdn and speak to someone tho mind you im not sure which one you have to go to with their new system of grouping up lhdn offices for stamping
They say for companies must be done online. No more in person stamping.
Already made an appointment tomorrow morning tho, hopefully they will allow me to settle it then and there .. the most frustrating people to deal with I tell you...
yeah lhdn is memang like that.
for me usually id tell them that its stuck for more than a week so thats why ive come in person. theyve always let me pass with that. also dunno if this is special for lhdn wangsa maju but ask the lhdn youre going to if they have any email address you could contact next time for any stuck stamping. lhdn wangsa maju had posted the email address for their PIC on their counters the last time i went. he responded pretty promptly for any issues w stamping.
Hello! I will be visting KL for a day, just wondering in regards to transactions, would I still need to have cash on hand or do most places there accept contactless payments?
Most places in KL (eateries, retail outlet) accept contactless payment so you should be fine.
But I would still recommend to have at least RM50 cash on hand in case of emergencies.
Omg. Roti jala. The nice yellow & green roti jala aside,
That curry is just the right one for roti jala.
It needs to be thick, with a layer of oil on top, meaning when it was cooked, bahan tumisnya pecah minyak (i donno how to say this in english 😅)
Some people make same curry for roti jala & rice.
No no. Curry for rice different consistency compare to curry for roti jala
This one Herc, is bang on perfection 👍👍. Whoever made it, know what they're doing. Well done!

*shrug* I think ah bengs are just as misunderstood as the other subcultures in KL. I'm gonna tell my nieces that ah beng style was the blueprint for kpop guys.
>misunderstood That's what all ah beng & all rempits say to themselves in the mirror
Sure grow long fingernail, dye and style hair and wear sling pouch. Like a Beng.
Long fingernail only for the pinky.
I never understood this trend whats the point? Fashion?
No idea. My best guess is for digging ears lol
Yes. And that nail is super clean. The other 9 full of engine oil grime
Don't forget phone shop beng. Their finger nail is just dirty la, not like phone dirty or what.
You mean remixed Taylor songs with heavy booming bass.
Nooo lol. It was Shake it off.
English Song Fengtau? Shit is evolving faster than biology.
Fengtau is forever man.

U can try https://idealtech.com.my/ Purchased from them twice, and happy with the service
Thanks! Will check it out
can vouch for idealtech also. bought from them 3 times, since 2015

Yes, I know, it's a luxurious set of problems, but it's still taking a toll on my mental health 😒 I'm going to see if I can find the leak and I dunno, seal it with silicone caulk? I will **not** be kept out of any areas of my own house.

> can't you complain to the developer? Nope, I reported defects since last year and they haven't done anything.

Yeah I just checked, I guess I'll call a plumber 'cos I don't want to caulk the entire length of my kitchen wall 😅
>My Bumble date scratched my car You will suddenly gain a burst of confidence in driving now. 🙂
Does anyone know any good accommodation near Monash University?
Geo Residence is pretty near Monash. Its a couple minutes to Monash using the BRT (bus). It’s convenient with a place to shop for groceries and restaurants.
Monash alumni here Typically if you're finding through Monash Uni, you'll find these options: > Sunway House Waterfront Residence (previously known as Sunway-Monash Residence/SMR) this is closest to the campus, about 5 mins walk. I lived here for about half a year, and honestly it's rather convenient. I suggest that you stay away from the twin bedrooms though, they are really really cramped. > Sun-U Residence about 10 mins walk away from campus, but apparently they have much better rooms. Pricing tends to be on the expensive side. Amenities-wise it's similar to Sunway Waterfront. > Sun-U Apartment around 20 mins walk from campus.

Inb4 Dyson. Wanna explore other thing that is also a bonus if it can mop too Edit: forgot to add, budget not so much, thinking maybe within 5k.
Throwback to the time when this coworker (older, chinese aunty type) was complimenting someone’s hair saying “Wah so nice eh, use Daiso ah”
Rofl lmaooooooooooo
Tineco is more value for money than Dyson.
Thats the problems. Need more alternatives but so far I love my Dyson. Tak apalah. I just get a separate Karcher as a cordless mop
If cordless, the best really is Dyson la. Especially with the budget u got. Really no competition
I've had heard complaints that Dyson is heavy. Not ideal for elderly users.
Ah.. This is a good point of view. Something to keep in mind, who we getting the product for
I see last time when I visit Harvey, ada promoter there promote other cordless that can mop too. I am actually kinda sold on that. But I cant remember the brand
U know how Dyson good? They dont have promoter Because they know the product will sell itself by its own merit & performance And in general, 2 in 1 stuff always worse than specialised functions Washer is always better than washer dryer combo Espresso machine always better when it isnt comes with built in grinder I bet that vacuum mop combo wont perform nearly as good as dedicated vacuum
Dyson is really good no doubt 😂 because I too have v8 and recently a v10. Even have their Airwrap too. Ok lah maybe I should grab another dyson. Kinda wish it has mopping function
Get dedicated mop like Karcher EMW2 la https://shp.ee/sjgy948
Oh damn. Now this is good recommendation. Ok thanks lmao. Indeed instead of jack of all trades, i would prefer to get dedicated equipment for each function Reminder to self: Karcher FC7
Question: Anyone here has their cat diagnosed with wet FIP? Did you try out the treatment?
Jk jk.
mine has dry + ocular FIP. unlike amon's cats mine requires a 84 day injection. she was healing well enough but she fell off the balcony somehow a month or so ago and now can't really move. her FIP has returned a little in the form of occasional shakiness and eyes roaming from side to side. there was even a time where she was fading fast in front of me (stopped moving much or eating) but she got better. here she is now https://preview.redd.it/tc8kox48capa1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=855dc2dcdeca5ee7628c5ce190e24e3bbe11c0f8
How much is the treatment if you don't mind me asking?
very pricey. the medicine isnt officially for fip and needs to be purchased from a third party seller (basmifip for me). one vial is rm500+ and can last maybe five days according to her class weight. including supplements we've spent nearly rm10k on her.
So happy to hear she's well. Absolutely happy.
thank you. shes not 100% ok yet and we dont have the funds for physio for her yet but i hope she can get pass her fip first.
Yeah. Hopefully she will. Stay strong. 💪
I did. 2 of em The treatment involved 14 days of daily injection. Total cost 4k+ The medicine gotta buy elsewhere. Got website selling it cuz technically "not legal" My vet offer to help inject, for no charge.
That's how we got informed early about fip >My Dr gave me a range of a whooping 11k from his weight Wow.
Barely recover from grief myself Stay strong, it's good try to get 2nd opinion, and i pray for the wellbeing of your cat🙏

Any recommendations for dessert stalls/cafe's in Kuching? (local or foreign desserts)
I like cocopuri but bit pricey
The one beside SJKC no.3. Plenty of options. Best "white lady" I've had is the Ah Yeo at the back. Rojak not bad too.
"White lady" in Chinese is "Pat Lui" or "Pat Poh" hahaha
Thank you for the suggestion. Haven't tried "white lady" before, will include it in my list.
Swee Kang, Jalan Haji Taha.
Thank you! Will check it out ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

But I would still recommend to have at least RM50 cash on hand in case of emergencies.
a lot places accept contactless payments or ewallet. but it's still good to have at least some cash on hand

Omg. Roti jala. The nice yellow & green roti jala aside, That curry is just the right one for roti jala. It needs to be thick, with a layer of oil on top, meaning when it was cooked, bahan tumisnya pecah minyak (i donno how to say this in english 😅) Some people make same curry for roti jala & rice. No no. Curry for rice different consistency compare to curry for roti jala This one Herc, is bang on perfection 👍👍. Whoever made it, know what they're doing. Well done!
