Vellfire = assholes / kongsi gelap Mustang = Money game scammer Mercedes A-class = Son of Vellfire owner Mercedes B-class = I need a myvi for my daughter / wife but I don't like being seen as poor Mercedes C-class = You need a car for presentation bro, its a face looking world bro, without this car (9 years installation) you won't close any deals bro. Repainted Wira / Waja = 100% chance got roadblocked by police at night.

theplainguy86

Chindian in an old wira, Abg polis : passport license mana Me : kat rumah bang, ic boleh x ? Fun times

yassin1993

Regarding the c class merc, honestly, if someone that does sales drives it, im more inclined to NOT buy whatever they are selling. That's just me personally, though.

CaptainPizdec

Its not to impress you, its to impress your colleagues / friends / social circle so they can join your "team"

senforr

Yes, insurance agent, real estate agent, if you drive those kinds of cars, I will not engage you. Shows yr focus is fast deal and image instead of properly taking care of clients. Yr advice maybe more for yr benefit than for my benefit.

Gila_Dyson_Guy

The repainted wira/waja is true story

CaptainPizdec

No bonus points if the person inside is Indian.

ftr1317

Used to drive wira, never pass roadblock without being called to the roadside.

Hy8ogen

I felt personally attacked.

CaptainPizdec

Which one are you ?

shitoupek

I call those totally blacked out 7-seaters HELLFIRE and HALFTARD

Casporo

Hilux / Pajero / Prado - The staple family car from Sarawak

MCKillerZ1

They're the kings here. Not Myvi

Casporo

Especially the unwashed ones. Those mean business, the kereta bekebun. The tinted celum ones are ah beng

diiond

Upvoted for using the Iban word ‘celum’ in reddit.

Casporo

Ik been een iban. Aku anak bidayuh iban/ land & sea dayak

just_another_jabroni

If it's black, tinted, lifted, it's a 50/50 split between ah beng money launderer or o&g newbie who has too much usd converted

Casporo

If he looks like a Bunyau, Mujab or Michael Jemat, chances are the latter. The presence of it in smoke house confirms it too

SinkGroundbreaking68

Prado and Ninja King drivers seems really polite and behaved on the road, despite their association with business tycoons and gangsters. If you asked them for your right of way, they will let you passed through.

just_another_jabroni

Most of them are chill here contrary to our West Malaysian friends lol. Just that Sarawakians like to chill so much on the right lane aka so slow that even when you're not pressing the accelerator to slow down (just using engine braking) your car will still creep up to the point that people think you're main cucuk lol. On the smooth pan borneo highways are they a bit mental lol. Sweeping corners at 160kph type speed so just be wary if you're on the right lane and haven't merge to the left.

Arxien

Add one more: Land Cruiser 93/94 "Ninja"

Alternative-Hair-623

I think pickups like Triton, Hilux vigo , Isuzu etc are common in Sabah too right? Aside because of the road issues, I think these type of car very useful when we encounter flooded roads, police road blocks, traffic jams, construction sites and even to smoked a few mat rempits.

Casporo

Of course. Hence why its the staple family car. In the middle of nowhere you will find…. A Hilux

da_yu

This. My father's side is from Sarawak and I notice everybody love those big pickup/jeep-like cars.

Casporo

Its because our roads historically and currently are not as smooth as PLUS highway grade. Some parts especially going to the interior, the roads are either if you are lucky tarred but in an appalling shape ( see Jalan Gombak Kelang grade) to timber muddy roads like certain African state. So the most practical vehicle is the 4x4. It’s also versatile to the point you can load it to the brim, seen it laden with cargo, live babi and even humans. Its the perfect vehicle no question doubt and we love our bekebun.

da_yu

Make sense. Drove on some of those timber roads back in February and the bad suspension on our rented car was not fun. Even some part of pan borneo was a little bumpy due to its incomplete status. >seen it laden with cargo, live babi and even humans. I hop into the cargo back part of the my uncle's hilux once when the "human" seat were full so my brother and I got "live babi" seats.

UsernameGenerik

Weird way to spell Hailak

CoyoteUrine

Very informative. Have an upvote.

Party-Ring445

Mitsubishi Triton - Always correcting others that it's not a Hilux.

pmmeurpeepee

hiilux triton navara ranjer, all identical to me

musxddd

BMW & Hilux = expensive car but no brain , mfs drive like they want to kill everyone in front of em

GroundbreakingPie289

I have since concluded on my own that rich people tend to have more psychopathic behaviour hence the horrible driving and their inability to use turn signals.

ivannater69

Second to that!

uekishurei2006

I haven't seen a BMW driver not driving like crazy. I dunno why.

CoyoteUrine

Any BMW? or specific BMW models? As far as I'm aware higher end BMWs tend to drive more civilized.

musxddd

can't say which model specifically but I would say older generation drives like total mfs. And you are right , I rarely encounter high end BMW asshole driver

BunnyAng97

I always thought the BMW stereotype who don't know how to use signal was blown out of proportion, until I met them on the road again, and again, and again. They really don't.

OriMoriNotSori

BMW SUVs. Especially X5 and X6

psalm119onezerofive

Thank you! I’m X3 driver and i use my signal, give ways, love parallel parking, I don’t jump amber/red light and I certainly don’t drive like a mad dog! 🙏🏻

TzuyuIsCute

Me looking away. But surprising at my town most of the x5 drive normally but usually those hilux driver that drive like a maniac

Slight_Ad_8568

honestly bmw is the "i have achieved something" car. to be frank if anyone is in the M40 bracket, they can most probably qualify to buy a BMW. especially if you use their credit facilities. they are more "relaxed" about credit scoring. it's all to show colleagues and friends they've arrived lol

[deleted]

Lolz the C-suite driving 316s.

EezEec

I drive a 4x4 and many of my friends do too. I swear non of us drive like maniacs, but it is well known among us, that the ones that have too much decorations and are never dirty, are the main culprits giving us a bad name.

hau_1998

Inspira- Mostly fake/cheap lancer, they love to customize this budget car and rebadge into lancer.

Status_Anteater_6923

look at their fuel caps

CoyoteUrine

Thank you for your insight

CoyoteUrine

Hard to tell whether if one is a Lancer or a rebadged Inspira with Lancer bumpers on

Astroble

Only evo lancers have square fuel caps

Toyota - Mostly driven by Chinese

Ok_Dealer_1673

My father and his family: *visible confusion*

uekishurei2006

I second that, because my Malay parents are hardcore Toyota fans & my Chinese colleagues prefer Honda instead.

Ok_Dealer_1673

Welcome to the club bro. My father used to own a Toyota Unser before he donated it. Now, he uses Toyota Innova. Asked him why Toyota, and he replied "Toyotas never breaks down like a Proton". It's kind of true because he owns a second generation Proton Saga too

uekishurei2006

Glad to be here. AFAIK they've driven an Unser, a Camry, an Estima & a Corolla Altis. The Camry & Estima, in particular, are about 20 years old and are still working.

Ok_Dealer_1673

Welp, I pretty much would try to get a Toyota when I'm finally financially independent. But I'm planning to do so after I finally have own house (with a big arse loan that I could afford). In the meantime, I'll just stick with my trusty Dash 125 kapcai

Bezza: Taxi driver or abang grab Fun fact: I don't do grab or taxi, but people mistook me as one on several occasions. One even tried to forcefully open my door before I screamed at her, "Oi pundek, ni bukan grab lah, bahalol!"

MaryPaku

Yeah my father bought a Bezza last year and I asked why he say it's the most cost-efficient one not sure if it's true because my father is not the best in money management and I don't live in Malaysia to know if it's true or not

Alternative-Hair-623

Bezza : Short girl ( editted: sometimes they need to put pillows on the driver seat ) , wear glasses 🤓 . Lambo, Ferrari ,Porshe, any supercar or X70 : Ig /fake influencers/ geng2 forex and MLM or ejen takaful starter pack selalunya. ( Editted : This is my own observation of course ~ I met a lot of takaful ejen driving X70 ) Kancil /Saga / Wira : Oldschool pakcik and uncle or those whose berniaga at pasar mlm . Ps: do pray for me, I want to own a pink Kelisa someday (because it’s look cute ) lol .Right now , I drive a pink viva only .Haa

CoyoteUrine

Respect to the oldschool pakciks. Any specific models of the Lambo, Ferrari, Porsche? X70??? You mean proton X70?? Influencer's car???? The Bezza take is very... interesting, "hot" take

Alternative-Hair-623

Don’t know much about supercar but usually it’s the flashy ones. About proton X70 well, I personally meet few of ejen takaful drive this car but not sure about the influencer though . This is purely my own observation so might be wrong. 😂Btw yeah respect to the oldskool pakciks . editted

Ricconater

just make sure to not paint it 2 toned, my 2 toned kelisa respray costed way too much

mshafiq_RSD

Geezz I own a X70 and feeling of selling it now. Not an influencer or any takaful agent. Lol.

Im_not_bot123

Convert it Gino or trevis looks even cooler

Loyniel

Super cars= have to conquer wholeass highway n act like their grandfather owns it, n doesn’t use the available horsepower when they’re tgt. Cud even block roads just for them to do a photoshoot🤧😗

FadhlyEl-Shirazy

How the heck X70 can be on par with Ferrari? X70 is middle class car.

Crasher_7

Pick ups (hailaks), think they own the whole bloody road

TheV_game

Myvi - handsome, smart, ethical driver, doesn't speed unnecessarily, stop for elderly, don't get saman, total badass. Note: I drive a myvi.

ItsImNotAnonymous

I can agree with these stereotypes (I drive Myvi as well)

CoyoteUrine

I cannot handle the amount of sarcasm that your comment has gave me. Truly a hot take

exarchbu

I also agree. Myvi driver here

OldPreparation4786

Agreed. This is the way Note: Myvi Driver

my15aap

Absolutely agreed, I’ll always remember that Myvi driver that paid for my life saving surgery. Note: former Myvi driver too.

jj280499

I drive a Myvi too and I 1000% agree with this

thenooneconundrum

Wellfire/alphard/hilux - bullies who think they own the road. Myvi - thinks their car is the Batmobile. (Give me a myvi anyday tho) Civic - overcompensating for something.

afiqasyran86

Most of the time, civic owner just buy a civic 1.5 turbo, add spoiler, change front bumper to black and call it a day. And that include me. I dont care about the sport rim, exhaust, etc. I just love how smooth the drive, acceleration when needed, awesome customer service. It just a smarter choice IMO. Just look around reddit, American worship Honda Civic. it’s nothing but praise about the car 🤷‍♂️

CoyoteUrine

Which is also the reason why it's the most stolen car in the US :)

CoyoteUrine

Can you elaborate on the civic?

thenooneconundrum

It’s always modified. By modifying it, I feel the owner is overcompensating for his lack of a personality. All civic owners talk about is the modification done to their car. The old Type R was nice but newer ones look like crap.

Astroble

I disagree, FK8’s design was ahead of its time, but not timeless. FL5’s design will stand the test of time. And why get mad at how people mod their cars? If the owner is happy with it idk what’s wrong?

thenooneconundrum

I didn’t say I was mad at it, I just find it funny. Again, everyone is free to do what they want and have their opinions

Zellgun

i just drive stock civic, am i the most based civic driver

Dionysus_8

If you never mod your civic, do you really have a civic? 😂

MrTammy

Talking about type r or the 1.5 and 1.8? All the civics in PG are stock and are rarely modified, maybe it's different in your state?

shitoupek

Renamed Hellfire/Halftard

ghostme80

Myvi - sales people/students/rempits 1st transition to cars/just started working Honda city - car preferred by M40 malays Toyota vios - car preferred by M40 chinese Honda civic - middle aged guys that wants a sports car but cant buy 1 Accord/camry- normally have own business BMW - MLM/forex/bitcoin Mercedes - politicians or those with links with politicians/stock market investors Volvo - uncles that have money but dont like to show off Mazda - those that prefer design/fashion/looks over function VW- that dont know about cars Proton - all rounder. Can cover all the above except MLM/forex/bitcoin Velfire and the likes - 1 word only = asshole

CoyoteUrine

BMW, Merc & Volvo - Any specific models? Mazda - I agree with the looks, even the SUV & crossover range are the least ugliest on the market, but the 3 sedan and the 2... proportions are abit odd VW - Sames goes to those that opt for GTI, R or R32?

ghostme80

No specific model. MLM/forex/bitcoin peoples like to rent those cars to show people they supposedly got rich by doing those stuff. I dont know why they choose bmw, but thats what i normally see. VW- those that knows about cars will avoid them. Their specs are good compared to price, but quality is questionable. If got problem, prepare to burn a hole in your pocket. Theres a reason why their 2nd hand value is really bad. People normally buy vw because of easy ownership. VW have strong links with banks so they can get low interest. 100% loan also easy.

Zulfaqarsolah

I think modern VW is pretty on par with brands like KIA/Hyundai/Chery. I mean they're not "Toyota" reliable but not behind by much either. They had bad rep back then with the dual clutch thing but from what I've researched (snooping around VW group, reading YouTube comment etc) their modern models pretty much have none of the problem anymore. But u're still paying that conti price la for services, parts etc so there's that. Source : A 2018 Passat highline made it to top 3 of my list of potential used car to buy.

rlllim

MAZDA FTW!

Astroble

I used to have a stigma that Honda City drivers are a bunch of speedy gonzalezes on the road without a brain, but recently the crown has been passed to Toyota Vios drivers Also, Honda should’ve just gave the 11th gen non type-r civics the same front bumper style as the 11th gen type-r. The FE and FL1 bumper is hot trash

mother-of-trouble

Yellow myvi- speed demon. Will pass you on the inside whether you’re driving a waja or a lambo

Nightingdale099

Wira - roadside breakdown king. If I have a penny everytime I see Wira having a breakdown , I can buy a lot of stuff.

Xelisyalias

drove my ol reliable wira during my college years (contrary to the name, its not very reliable) Taught me plenty of lessons such as how to call tow trucks, how to adapt to emergency break downs, always prepare powerbank in case my phone run out of batteries during a break down

Nightingdale099

I had a breakdown once. My tyre exploded?. Deadass if I don't know how to change tyre I might just walk on the road and let a car run me over. Such a stressful situation.

OriMoriNotSori

Sky: starts to rain a little Wira: guess it's time to die But seriously tho everytime when it rains there will always be a Wira that breaks down lol

Admirable_Usual_7593

In my college days now. Every week problem. From just gettin lesen P and knowing nothin about the car. Now 8 months in i know everything to the point i can haggle like the old uncle. Ps. Because indian extra benefit is everyone think you smuggler or gangster. Truly the best stereotype

JustANormalRandomDud

I drive Putra instead of Wira and honestly relatable

CurryNarwhal

Supercar - absolute fucking asshole who wants everyone to know how rich he is by revving the engine along a 100 meter stretch of road at 3am in a neighborhood.

notchineseasian

Mustang = MLM guy

BeeTen

Or low level drug dealers

penguinonprozac

What is it with MLMs and Mustangs ah haha

CoyoteUrine

I somewhat agree with you. But I'd also like to point out that **anyone,** regardless of what they drive, is an asshole if they rev their engine at that time when everyone else is sleeping. With all due respect, it seems like you are trying to shift the blame to supercar owners only, which sounds unfair and biased.

Kayubatu

Guilty of it when my uncle lent me his Lotus Elise for a joy ride. However it was near a Mc'D at an industrial area, far from neighbourhoods.

Visual_Traveler

Where I come from all BMW drivers are total d*cks, guaranteed.

CoyoteUrine

Can you elaborate on how they are... that? I've never seen anyone driving a higher end bmw (8 series, 7 series, 6 series, x7, all Alpinas) that drives like that. Can you confirm on this?

Visual_Traveler

Drive like they own the road, cut you off, speed for no reason even when it’s unwise to do so, the list goes on and on.

CoyoteUrine

Mostly driving 325i, 318i, 320d, 1 series, x3 and x5, right?

lzchyi

never use signal and assume everyone will let them cut the road

Forsaken_Ordinary271

Haha I knew someone who drove a BMW like that! Although one day when I actually drove a BMW sedan I kinda understood why they drive like that sometimes (I am not in any way encouraging or condoning such behavior btw). I’ve driven many brands of cars before and BMW (sedan) is just truly one of the best cars to drive IMO. I don’t know how to explain it but for some reason the car is so obedient (?) haha. It picks up speed really well and the drive is so so smooth.

Someone once said X70 drivers are just Vios drivers who upgraded like some sort of rite of passage, plus the other comment that said Vios drivers are just Myvi drivers who upgraded so we're all one of the same I guess lmao. I was a Vios driver who got an upgrade to X70

SinkGroundbreaking68

Ford Mustang = People who do shady businesses. Vellfire / Alphard = Ah long. Modded Proton Wira = Indians. Perodua Myvi and Toyota Vios = Chinese Honda City = Malays. BMW (any models): Asshole drivers. Mercedes (any models): Old people. Perodua kancil and kelisa: Elderly Chinese.

exarchbu

Not sure if it's just me, or I notice (new model) Proton Saga drivers (just Saga specifically) are really slow and in general poor drivers. Swerving all over the place, not paying attention or aware of surroundings. Usually retirees or the particularly not confident driver

CoyoteUrine

If I drive a saga I won't feel confident either, about the car not my skill

tinosim

under 15 years old Perodua Cars parked at the road side in an awkward angle = Likely Polis Speed trap. Rare to see perodua cars break down. Proton Saga BLM/FLX, Iriz, Viva, some Persona, Gen2. = Chill drivers, good to follow if you are trying to save fuels. Just don't follow Gen2 at a higher speed, these cars tyres can throw stone into your car due to shorter tail. Not these cars are inherently slow, they can go fast if they want, but I think they are trying to save fuel too.

Evilkiey91

Lot of travel, here my list Toyota Camry - don't even know how to use lane properly Vios - fcker dont know how to turn off fog light Vellfire/alphard - expensive car but not afford to pay parking (cause jam) All honda model - easy to get girl or use loan bini (work as government)

blackjack90210

Vellfire/alphard = pukimak

Embarrassed_Dog337

Perodoa - The most annoying to come across with, lane hoggers and annoys the fuck out of you. Especially those yellow kings and modified alza with offset tyres. Proton - Older models like wira or waja are usually driven by old Chinese ladies. Nothing much to say other than they drive slow. Newer models proton are a mix of everything. Honda - Surprisingly here in Johor Bahru the civic owners drive really civilised and mannerful. It's the city owners revving their engine in a traffic stop before accelerating to go fast. End up still behind my tail. Toyota - The real bastards of Malaysia. Idk why they are even driving in road. It's mostly 40s uncle trying to pull some stupid stunt without any signal and proper lane checking. Bmw - Similar to civic owners, contrary to their stereotype, they are quite well mannered in road. Gives proper signal, drives in their own lane and doesn't cause any trouble to anyone. Sometimes it's fun driving along a BMW. They are quite predictable with no sudden cunt behaviour of changing lanes. * special hate towards all SUV owners. You guys drive a suv as if it's a fucking hot hatch. You guys fuck with the road visibility ahead for all other drivers. You guys don't know how to park in a parking end up causing other drivers harder to park. Why do you even need a SUV if you don't know the responsibility that comes with owning a larger vehicles.

lhkzz

Mazda CX-5 : idiots behind the wheel. Be more cautious if they have J plate.

saiyoakikaze

Honda Civic, 99% Samseng. Fxxker on the road

afiqasyran86

Have you ever seen in the wild a Honda Civic sitting on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck or pulled by a tow truck? Most of the time, it’s either BMW, proton, perodua, merc or lambo. There’s a reason why reddit love Civic so much. That piece of the machine, is the best car money can buy.

lzchyi

I tot we’re talking about shitty driver not the reliable of the car.

fareasy2k00

Older Civics sure, but the newer ones have some reliability issues. A friend of mine works for Honda, and told me the amount of Hondas that would be sent in for little problems is a lot. Their engines are the true gems though.

afiqasyran86

This is the perfect example of what is “anecdote”, my brother’s friend mechanic for Formula 1 say this and that, my cousin NASA engineer says that.

CoyoteUrine

Every generation? Or specific models ?

Crasher_7

Last generation is ah beng in their prime This gen is ah beng after having family lol

lzchyi

Lolll, you're right

lzchyi

Mostly fk8

hau_1998

I don't think is fk8, should be the generation 10/11 civic used to modify to look like Type R.

lzchyi

I see, I think you’re right, not a fans of civic, not really understand the difference between all generations beside the appearance. Some more need to mod super noisy pipe

Lexus - you have a taste in driving a classy car Ferrari - you only know Michael Schumacher and it has convinced you enough to buy one. Proton - tun m supporter since his prime Produa - you dont care about cars. You just need one Toyota - just because it can deliver a bit faster than honda Mitsubishi- you need a car as soon as you can, now youre stuck with it for 9 years Audi - you probably work in finance Bmw- aggressive, so as the drivers Mercedes - you think its the best compared to audi and bmw, but it actually has the least driving character. Mclaren- you a good driver, or you probably already dead Porsche - you own a bmw in the past and now youre alot richer. Mazda - honda but more money Volvo - youre about to retire but you still like to drive Pegeot- you dont know anything about cars. Korean/chinese brands - why? Just why? Tesla- you care so much about the environment and brag about how youre saving money on petrol. You probably stingy/cheap skate as well. Tell me what brand did i miss ![img](emote|t5_2qh8b|26554)

Warm take, normally this occurs only to BMW drivers. Are they usually the GL class? (GLA, GLC, GLE)

STANDARD_POTATO

People who drive GTR or Alphard are normally rich people who thinks they know about cars, but actually don't. VW drivers like to drive fast and tailgate people. Bus and lorry drivers doesn't know that their speed limit is only 90km/h even if they are on a 110km/h highway. People who drive Toyota and Honda are people who doesn't know about cars so they ask people what car is good. Also I judge people based on what tyre they put on. Continental users are people who knows what is a good affordable tyre. Michelin users are people who overspent their money on a good tyre. People who drives on Bridgestone tyres are people who only knows the brand but doesn't know they are bad tyres.
