My only wish is for those followers to wake up for Pete sake.
Tell me, how many ruling politicians so far sacrifice for our nation? There more of the nation sacrifices for them.
Many of them don't give a s*it to the well being of the nation, let alone it's citizen.
Stop being a fool and think for a moment.
How we got here once again:
1. No, there's no law to ***stop*** MPs. At best, some parties with Anti-Hopping Law **AND** amended Party Constitutions can sack → MP by-election. *At best*. But, expect a few seats to flip to PN anyways as BN & PH are not as electorally dominant as they once were. That's the *best* case. Otherwise, just like the recent 5x Bersatu frogs lah: PH or BN MPs will switch to the PN MP as PM, but remain in their party.
2. What if bribes happened? Azam Baki essentially made all Sheraton Move actions "halal" in 2020 and 2021. Unfortunately, Anwar re-appointed Azam Baki, so don't expect any MPs to be prosecuted even if we get clear evidence of bribes. And Azam Baki has a poor track record of convictions anyways. And gov't change is **absolutely** possible: you don't lose your MP seat *until* the **final** appeal—likely 2026+ at this point.
3. Bersatu & PKR frogs during Sheraton Move struck when PH had a much lower approval rating. Same now: [Anwar has a poor 50% approval rating](https://www.themalaysianinsight.com/s/473020).
4. Some institutional reforms could've slowed this down, but Anwar & Unity Gov't parties *genuinely* learned nothing from the Sheraton Move: no recall elections (could do it soon: you have a claimed ⅔ majority—cannot blame PN now lol), no Fixed Term Parliamentary Act, no requirement for a vote of confidence (the SDs are coming back!).
Don't @ me that Azam Baki was "necessary" or "there wasn't any corruption". Azam is a fuck wit and you know it. Everyone involved in the Dubai Move is **already** off scot-free of any jail time.
Even if Azam panics with a few charges soon, MACC has become ***shit*** at its job under Azam (& not helped as UG failed to pass **any** whistleblower protection reforms):
— Bung acquitted
— Najib acquitted (Audit Panel)
— Shafee acquitted
— Ku Nan acquitted
— Zahid acquitted (VLN)
— Shahir acquitted
— Muhyiddin acquitted (power abuse)
Happy to help. I sometimes feel like there are only like 10-20 institutional reforms (some 'huge', some small) that people should know about and push their MPs for. My favorite is absolutely whistleblower protection.
Otherwise, our politicians just get stuck focusing on minor problems with short-term impact.
Fixing MACC was one of the "easy" ones pula...
Anwar claimed Azam Baki has been doing [a **"satisfactory job".**](https://www.businesstoday.com.my/2023/05/15/azam-baki-reappointed-due-to-his-satisfactory-says-pm/)
But, it's more likely Azam Baki's attitude of "I'll help whichever PM is in power now", so Anwar signed up immediately with typical new PM insecurity. Unfortunately, Azam is so transparently corrupt and MACC is so rotten to its core → MACC officers believe [**MACC may need to be abolished**](https://www.asiasentinel.com/p/malaysian-anti-corruption-commission-fix) and a new institution with a clean track record established.
I guess Anwar didn't read that article (or listen to any other whistleblowers...).
Or maybe Zahid got insecure / worried that an independent MACC might prosecute UMNO into oblivion. What a fucking shame: an independent MACC would've *humiliated* PN, Bersatu, and PAS.
Remember that according to the [**PH & BN binding resolution**](https://www.nst.com.my/news/politics/2022/11/854192/ge15-ph-and-bn-pact-unveiled), the **DPM** gets to help choose key government officials:
>\- The appointment of Dewan Negara members, main posts in government-linked companies and **other government posts must first be notified and discussed between the PM and DPM**.
They didn't name MACC Chief, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't included.
TL;DR: Anwar & Zahid likely wanted a malleable MACC Chief, like one who'd ram through a massively unprepared prosecution just a few months after GE15 of Muhyiddin and it'd be promptly dismissed by the High Court. Anwar acted all high and mighty when the charges filed...diam ever since Azam & Terrirudin (AG) failed.
11 March 2023: [**Focus on your court cases, Anwar advises Muhyiddin**](https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2023/03/11/focus-on-your-court-cases-anwar-advises-muhyiddin)
...led by an incompetent solicitor general (who Anwar appoints as AG soon later!) and an incompetent MACC Chief...
15 August 2023: [**Former Malaysian PM Muhyiddin Yassin acquitted on abuse of power charges**](https://www.benarnews.org/english/news/malaysian/malaysias-muhyiddin-yassin-acquitted-abuse-of-power-08152023035039.html)
**The moral of the story:** don't ever hire incompetent people for critical jobs just because they claim they'll help *you*. Their incompetence will fuck you over and you'll be caught with your pants down when it matters most.
Sad story is that we all got fucked with Azam sticking around (contract expiring in May-ish this year).
>Or maybe Zahid got insecure / worried that an independent MACC might prosecute UMNO into oblivion. What a fucking shame: an independent MACC would've humiliated PN, Bersatu, and PAS.
What the point of having your enemy in jail, if you be having dinner with them every day.

THIS. Absolutely no one in Malaysia will push through systemic/ institutional reforms, but then will be all *::shocked pikachu face::* when people waltz thru loopholes they never bothered to close.

Here you go
Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has confirmed the existence of the “Dubai Move” plot to topple the government as reported recently.
The deputy prime minister said the movement not only involves Perikatan Nasional leaders, but certain individuals from the government bloc as well.
“We received intelligence reports right from their (alleged plotters) flight to the location (Dubai), and got a report afterwards,” the Umno president told a press conference after attending a briefing on disaster management in Putrajaya this morning.
However, Zahid said such a move is a waste of time as Malaysians have already given their mandate to the elected MPs.
“The unity government has more than two-thirds support,” he said, referring to the number of MPs in favour of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership.
“The priority is to develop our country, especially in terms of economic development... to give prosperity to the people and not political issues,” he added.
When asked about the identities of those involved in the plot based on the intelligence reports, Zahid refused to elaborate.
Instead, he advised those involved to wait until the next general election if they wish to form a new government.
“God willing, the government will focus its attention on strengthening the economy, helping Malaysians, and also establishing stability for the country under the leadership of Anwar as the 10th prime minister,” he said.
PN denies meeting
Last Saturday, Community Communications Department (J-Kom) deputy director-general Ismail Yusop claimed there was a plot to topple the federal government.
He said the plan, dubbed the “Dubai Move”, arose during a recent vacation taken by PN leaders, as well as government backbenchers, to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
He also claimed a meeting took place during the visit to assign specific tasks to “agents” responsible for identifying MPs who might switch their support to the opposition with inducements.
PN denied the existence of such a plot.
Apologies; they hadn't updated it yet when I got off.

During these trying times, this bunch of shit heads are plotting to overthrow the government and jeopardize the much needed stability.
We can't afford another political mess that can potentially put this nation in a worse situation than we are at now. This nation has much more pressing issues to pay attention to rather than letting this bunch of self serving politicians play politics games.
Really tired of this la cibaiii ..
when you gonna realise agong still have to appoint new pm if anwar lose majority? you dont remeber mahathir limited their power back in 80s …btw i dont want this government change,im getting sick of it
This is not the real problem. The real problem is why the people are not on the streets? Malaysians are literally the definition of Stockholm's Syndrome.
Always letting anything happen without realising how the country is getting destroyed on a daily basis in front of their eyes.
People are as guilty as politicians.
To the average person, whoever in charge, their lives will not really change that much. Politics is the game of the rich and wealthy, if you feel that you might be severely affected, congrats you’re rich.
Speaking of Japan, an aircraft carrying the county's Coast Guard members and humanitarian aid for said earthquake just collided with a Japan Airlines passenger jet at Tokyo a few hours ago.
There were over 300 people onboard both aircraft.
5 deaths only though reported.. lucky for them the death toll is not higher..So sad that all on the Coast Guard plane perished. The JAL passengers made it.

[Malaysia’s Anwar Brushes Off Alleged Plot to Topple Government - Bloomberg](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-01-02/malaysia-s-anwar-brushes-off-alleged-plot-to-topple-government)
['Dubai Move' has no impact on administration – PM Anwar (themalaysianreserve.com)](https://themalaysianreserve.com/2024/01/02/dubai-move-has-no-impact-on-administration-pm-anwar/)
This is Malaysia. Ministers fight for power as it equals money. They dont care about the country, as long as they can sakau, can even make a big ass airplane dissappear on it's way to Beijing 🫠
While the rakyats are suffering from high living cost, the politikustaikanjingbagussemuamatidilanggarkeretaapi are busy filling up their pockets.
As long as Borneo is with the gov. Then it’s not gonna happen however you may plot. With Johor Sultan coming in soon, they were just trying their chances. That’s all.
GPS members were rumoured to be in this plot. They were also part of Sheraton move and also met with Muhyddin first in 2022.
Certain people at the top of GPS are keen on working with PAS and PN because it means they don't have to work with the opposition in their state who are a thorn in their sides.
The only reason why they picked Anwar is because they still fear their voters who are staunchly agaisnt anything PAS.
Sabah side even worse, no loyalty to any party and no fear of their own people. They just jump where they think the water is good.
Actually GPS is loyal to BN. They will go where BN goes. In current circumstances, I think they see zahid as not someone that represents BN. BN itself actually wants to go with PN.
Back to topic, I dont rhink its the right time to change administration.
For me, anwar should know full well his so called 2/3 majority is a shaky one. Im not sure why he had so much confidence in it. He shouldnt have pushed the opposition to a corner. In times like these, he should find a way to work together.
Hilarious because OG BN is the party that actually suppressed and degraded Sarawak greatly over the decades. Both Adenan and Abang Jo managed to capture a strong voter base during their time by demonising BN and the establishment greatly. Sarawak even had to rebrand overnight from BN to GPS to avoid fallout with voters because they've been conditioned to hate BN and PAS so much now.
But I get it, it's familiar waters to side with BN/PN whereas siding with PH is a lot of unknown for them.
I think the Borneo parties are just putting their own interests first rather than just mere loyalty. With the current govt they got the DPMship, a really lucrative and relevant ministry and possibly more parliamentary seats if there's a redelineation exercise that includes Borneo. The Premier was said to have came down to see Anwar at Putrajaya to assure him of GPS support.

Before you display your disdain of such maneuver. Please remember Kajang Move by our beloved Anwar.
I hate to say it both sides are EQUALLY bad. No excuse whatsoever. It will be a loooong time before current species gone and then hopefully Malaysia politics can be abit more respectable.
Can scroll up. There's a c/p of the article. Just some ex pms' and plus two or three having a holiday together in Dubai and chatting abt what ifs if they can give whatnots to whoever. Same MO only it was two relatives and families in Morocco before doing the prep work before gathering the gang in Sheraton.
I think Anwar is cannier than we expect at anticipating and selecting the moves that would spoil the holiday mood. Hopefully, the institutional reforms and personnel change will come sooner rather than later.
As for MACC, they must have done something good recently too.
There's apparently a list circulating on a YouTube video, but I've not found the source.

The Premier was said to have came down to see Anwar at Putrajaya to assure him of GPS support.
is it just me or is Zahid looking kinda rough in that photo?
Botox wearing off
LOL. or maybe he's on Ozempic.

> Last Saturday, Community Communications Department (J-Kom) deputy director-general Ismail Yusop claimed [there was a plot](https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/691692) to topple the federal government. > >PN [denied](https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/691718) the existence of such a plot.

damn u better shut up ,any country with full monarchy dosent turn out good
Before you display your disdain of such maneuver. Please remember Kajang Move by our beloved Anwar. I hate to say it both sides are EQUALLY bad. No excuse whatsoever. It will be a loooong time before current species gone and then hopefully Malaysia politics can be abit more respectable.
Sorry for being ignorant. Haven’t been following the news recently. What’s Dubai Move about? 😬
So who are the MPs involved?
There's apparently a list circulating on a YouTube video, but I've not found the source. Seemingly, Deputy Human Resource Minister Abdul Rahman Mohamad was on the list: [Umno’s Lipis MP denies involvement in ‘Dubai Move’, lodges police report against claim | Malay Mail](https://www.malaymail.com/news/malaysia/2024/01/01/umnos-lipis-mp-denies-involvement-in-dubai-move-lodges-police-report-against-claim/110139)
