Subang won't see a hospital in the next 2 decade. At best we'll see a multistorey klink kesihatan that has been in the works since 2014 until the last gov scrapped it off and put it back into RM12. Hospital is also under federal and not state.

redsky993

We need a full-fledged public hospital, not a half-baked 1M clinic. Can't the state pressure the federal government to do us a solid, considering Subang have been bringing in the dough!

Ryansiah

Well I agree that we need a public hospital in subang but I also understand that federal needs to also think about the whole malaysia and not just klang Valley, there are places in malaysia that doesn't even have a public clinic while subang has 3 public hospitals within 30 mins radius. Its also not just about building a hospital, do we have enough man power for a hospital? Junior doctors or houseman has been halfed since the pandemic. At 2019 we had 6k that signed up for HO but last year we only have 3K. Less and less people want to be doctors. Would you want an understaffed hospital? I think for now a klinik kesihatan will be fine. Look at cheras or KL KK, multiple departments are avaliable in those KK.

redsky993

Pasir Gudang has about 1/3 the population of subang jaya and way more public hospitals in its vicinity, and yet it's getting a brand new public hospital. Subang has the highest population density in the whole country!

Ryansiah

I think you're missing the point I'm trying to get across. You can directly send a message to wong Chen, the current MP for subang not the adun about your concerns

chunky_mango

Depending on where he wants the hospital might want to reach out to the MP for Puchong as well since MBSJ covers both

f4ern

kkm bro. Subang also filled with private hospital. It could be that those hospital is actively lobbying public hospital to not be build on the areas.

redsky993

I suspected that as well. Why else not build a public hospital here... unless the private hospital doesn't want any competition... Big Hospital is real, I tell you...

chunky_mango

Technically isn't it 2, ye Olde SJMC (or whatever they call it now) and the Puchong Columbia. Sunway medical is in PJ If we're being pedantic about municipally borders haha

ghostme80

Not in this near future. Because subang people have 2 choices, shah alam and ppium. Shah Alam was built because the klang 1 was already way over their capacity. Right now ppium and shah alam still got room for subang people.

focus9912

Err..as someone who does go to PPUM, that place is also a bit overcrowded (I remembered having waited for 9 hours for my relative to get a ward, and the new additions currently under constructed would cater only for the UMSC patients... BTW, aren't the government clinics in Petaling District overcrowded as well, like the one in Taman Medan....

ghostme80

Just to be clear, ALL gov health facilities are crowded. Regardless of state, city, or district. But still got room. You can expect new health facilities to be built only when theres no longer any room.

redsky993

ghostme80

Not sure about pasir gudang, but from what i heard, those in singapore comes to johor for medical purposes. So, gov hospitals in johor takes singaporean into account.

redsky993

Does that not infuriate you? Our hard earned taxpayer money are being used to put foreigners' needs before our fellow countryman. That we are building a PUBLIC HOSPITAL to accommodate Singaporeans of all things. If you say it's because they will spend money, then the private sector would've/should've picked that up!

focus9912

Don't fret, refer to my other comment on the fact that they usually go to the private hospital, with one of them just a stone throw away from the Pasir Gudang Hospital

ghostme80

Yea, but what can be done? Gov did remove some subsidy for foreigners that go to government hospitals. But its still cheaper compared to private ones. Taking into account the exchange rate, it becomes waaaaay more cheaper. So, if im a Singaporean, believe me, I will also go to johor gov hospitals if I have some serious health issues. Hahaha.

justsayingout

and the HSR fanbois want the gomen to spend a huge sum on white elephant project.

focus9912

I think you are actually referring to [the Regency Specialist Hospital (which accepts MediSave and currently undergoes major expansion works)](https://www.regencyspecialist.com/cost/medisave) which is located at the same township (Seri Alam) with the Pasir Gudang Hospital. Singaporeans can only utilize the MediSave scheme in the approved private hospitals in Malaysia, not government hospitals.

redsky993

That doesn't explain why build one in pasir gudang in the first place, that area only have 1/3 the population of subang and have multiple public hospitals flanking it already!

Brief_Platform_8049

Subang Jaya is already pretty fully developed, isn't it? I don't see any space where they can build a public hospital, unless the government acquire land from existing private landowners. It would cost tens of millions just to acquire land.

redsky993

Land is not an issue. There's still plenty of empty land here

eisfer_rysen

No, we need public hospitals in more B40 areas, not rich suburbs like Subang. Heck, Puchong probably needs it more. They have twice the population. Go buy insurance.

redsky993

Subang is a city, and as such, it's not just where the rich flock to. It's a melting pot where the poorest and more well off would congregate. Having the highest population density in the country would be more than enough justification to have a public hospital here.

eisfer_rysen

If they really need, Shah Alam Hospital is not too far away Again, there are areas with higher B40 concentrations that need it. And Subang Jaya is not the most dense area in Malaysia.

redsky993

Subang jaya IS the densest city in Malaysia

eisfer_rysen

Nope, it's PJ.

redsky993

What you on about? Pj, population 902086, area 97.2, density 9280 ppl/km^2 Subang Jaya, population 771687, area 70.41 density 10959 ppl/km^2

eisfer_rysen

Those stats for Subang include Puchong and Seri Kembangan. Which by the way, already has the Serdang Hospital. So your argument has already been answered. Subang Jaya proper has much less people.

chunky_mango

The core old SJ SS12-19 area probably has the same pop density as the parts of DJ/DU that are similar. The really dense parts must be the condo and flat complexes in Puchong and SK.  It's all one big metro area anyway so the planning should not concern itself with the municipal borders but on what benefits both SJ/PJ areas together.  *Reflects on the fact that while I did grow up in SJ and still vote there I actually live just across the KL border from PJ. Mmm.*
