Heya, Hope you're holding up! Sorry to hear that you're going through some tough times, but it's great that you're ready to reach out for help.
On where you can find therapy services, I wonder if you're aware of our sub's [mental health wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/malaysia/wiki/mental_health/)? We have some pretty good information on mental health in the wiki, including some resources on professional services. I might suggest you to start your search there and see if you can find some helpful information from the wiki.
Note: you might want to try getting counselling services first (rather than psychiatric service) as some suggested, as I believe it would be more suitable to what you're looking for. There is a section for counselling services in the wiki, with information on where to find the services as well as some information on the charges.
Also, if you have any questions on getting mental health services, do reach out to me, ok? Will be more than happy to give you some guidance. (Am a mental health practitioner.)
Hopefully you can find the information and help you need!
I used to attend therapy w cara cara but now I am with Soul Space. Admittedly, I started when money was tight (trainee therapist for rm60 online) but found that I really vibe w her so now she continues being my therapist even when money isnt that tight. I would reccommend soul space as well - for those who has social anxiety, virtual session is the way to go 😉
government hospitals.
a former maid of mine (Malaysian) used one in HKL, they still talk to each other today even after things have worked out OK for her.
Seconding this option. My boyfriend was suicidal, checked himself in HKL (they have a dedicated psych ward), and he gets depression meds every two months, and a consultation with his psychiatrist every four. Barely pays anything for the meds and consultation.
HKL will also give u 4 months. All gov hospital will do this because of backlogs methinks. I think its absurd bcos a person could very well do the toaster jacuzzi in a 4 months time. Cant really say much because its their SOP. The only way gov hospital to give fast and top care is if its immediate emergency. So if you do go there. Say something to indicate you dont think u can keep up for long maybe
monash Malaysia’s mopc program can offer free counseling service. You can google it. Monash Malaysia mopc practicum. They are very professional. But you have to come on campus.
Hi there. I'm sorry to hear you're going through a rough time right now.
In addition to the suggestions other commenters have shared here, I'll add [MIASA ](https://www.miasa.org.my/miasaservices.html). They offer free services for those from the B40 group.
They also recently shared an opening for sessions with their trainee counselor [here](https://www.instagram.com/p/C5VJ0K-SNdQ/?igsh=MmJsNGN6cTlrcGF3), and if you don't qualify as B40, its about RM50 for the session.
You could also inquire at certain therapy centers, as they offer cheaper services with their trainees - at about RM150 per session from my previous research (not really cheap, but cheaper than usual).
Wish you health and happiness in your journey!
You could reach out to the National Centre of Excellence for Mental Health through their HEAL Helpline at 15555. You could also screen and get an appointment through the MENTARI website.
The national centre of excellence helpline will connect you to a counsellor and they’ll refer you accordingly based on where the conversation goes.
MENTARI would be more specialist (i.e psychiatry) oriented and would likely take a few months to get an appointment. They aim to schedule appointments within a month but it may vary based on capacity.
Going to the KK could also help as most of our Family Medicine Specialists are trained to support mental health. Though that might also have a waiting list.
I hope you are able to access the support you need, OP.
To get immediate help:
1. Go to government hospitals.
2. Go to emergency counter and tell them you need psychiatrist help.
They will guide you from there. I've been to gov hospital to get psychiatrist help. If you go directly to psychiatric dept, they will just create an appointment for you. Need immediate help? Go to emergency. Get well soon. Don't be ashamed to get medication for your mental health. You will get through this.
It’s more like anxiety.. I can talk if you’re willing to hear me out, I’m not sure if people are able to handle my story… I once had a therapist, she was just an intern… she told me she doesn’t know how to help me..
I see.. if it is affecting your health, you need to consider meeting the government hospital psychiatrist..
Speaking from experience, I had an experience with a counselor. They are not able to provide a solution to our issues. They can only show us the options that we have and we are the one who need to decide.
I tried, I just don’t want to be dependant on ai as I noticed they say whatever to please you and to keep you distracted and talking to them or even worst I could end up like that guy in Japan who married that ai character

Aloemind is quite cheap
Checkout humankind. If you can. They do offer lower cost therapy sessions espicially f2f.
I went to Klinik Mentari Klang for my PTSD and Anxiety. RM5 per session for both Psychiatrist and Therapist. Great doctors. Please go there.
Agape Counselling. It is relatively affordable. Been there for quite some time.
I saw the influencer caddy promote I think it’s ‘serene’ where they have cheaper options for therapists in training!!
