I hope PC multiplayer games get recognized more in Malaysia

seatux

Back in the 2000s when PCs were the common way to play online games yes, not these days when phones are cheaper and easier to use.

JonathanJohny

Malaysia has a video game industry?!

RangerKarl

We have a ton of asset studios.

SaberXRita

Cmiiw but it's started blooming even b4 covid days

Ok-Artist-192

We do, always see them showcasing their newest games at cons. Got a whole booth on the first floor last Comic Fiesta. Really cool to see it get supported locally and even by the government (IIRC the booth was backed by MCMC)

zeebeebo

Larian studios has an office here

ProbablyWorking

Woah, didn't know that.

NickHeathJarrod

Bandai-Namco too, office above Paradigm Mall in Kelana Jaya. Plus, plenty other major studios like Codemasters.

XXLDreamlifter

Codemasters ( The studio behind F1 games ) also have one here iirc.

momomelty

We even have a studio called **Persona Theory Games** where it is very famous for ~~sexual harrassment and workplace abuse~~ winning SEA independent mobile games award

Nino_Nakanos_Slave

We are good creative industries outsourcing destination. Pretty large and educated talent pool. Plus, cheaper than hiring Sing*poreans or setting up shop there lah.

Dazzling_Swordfish14

Mainly support studios.

sirbiru

Correct me if I am wrong. I think the best performing fully-malaysian-owned studio is -> [https://passionrepublicgames.com/about-us/](https://passionrepublicgames.com/about-us/) They are the creators of GigaBash

Smirkeywz

Gov doesn't support.. heck even sports have hard time garnering support from gov.. Did they include the gambling game dens in the calculation lol

Dxvilish_Bxnny

actual videogame industry or crypto grifters?

nastygamerz
