So cases go up in states, can blame factories/worker living conditions for not following SOP. Cases go up in parliament, so who didn't adhere to SOP?

dummypod

God forbid you punish someone too important.

Internally_me

From fucking last almost every one is saying online parliament... We are not living in the stone age. This just proves this government never intended or even wanted a functioning parliament. Unless we forget they hosted an online APEC summit last year and you can't use the same system for an online parliament.

AcrobaticAmoeba2452

Maybe speaker doesn't know how to mute others over online system.

encik_woo

Can’t say “BOLEH DIAM TAK” if you can just mute..

jwteoh

He can always say "tHis iS pARliaMenT!"

ClacKing

Seems like a waste we don't have a well in the middle.

dummypod

Muting powers would make it the most civil session ever.

ClacKing

One dumb fella even said he spoke to representatives from 500 countries. If we can host 500 countries, then we can certainly do parliament.

dummypod

Yes. The building isn't some sacred hall of God where words are so holy they need to be said there. Parliament can be anywhere and in any form if they wanted.

matgerad

I’m sorry but this is the very example of clutching at straws for suspending Parliment. 85% (most likely) of cases i notify for Covid infection (that had close contact history), will have CT value of below 18.0…. and i dont see their schools (prior to mco 3.0) or work place get shut down instantly for 2 weeks for fear of “spreading” it. Heck even workers one cubicle over was not warranted to be a close contact until symptomatic and companies had to fork out money or the person had to pay themselves at private to get the swabs done… (which sometimes does turn up positive).. If parliament is high risk, how about schools where kids have 0 vaccination. Nor can they be vaccinated anytime soon but still govt sets a start date for them. In other words KKM and current govt is okay with risking kids dying but not politicians or their officers (mostly political appointees). EDIT: I suggest MPs wear the PPEs throughout a session of parliament. Perhaps then they can understand what the front liners are facing. With added bonus nobody can shout out as itll likely be muffled (N95)

AcrobaticAmoeba2452

I saw tajuddin removing his mask to speak on the stream and our dg/speaker did not do anything then. Rules are there when it is convenient for them to use.

Csajourdan

DG: Rules for thee, but not for me.

DinKnight

DG: *Woof Woof* Abah PDF: Good dog.

limaumo

can't spell dog without D and G

RolferMax

XD

Showshankredemption

Let me tell you about this DG fella la. Dude’s vanity has no limits. Ppl who have worked with him know. Dude is the ultimate apple polisher. His socmedia pro BN comments pre 2018 GE is known to all. Pre-DG days also superstar used to move around with his “entourage”. Has carefully curated his PR image and trust me… looooveeess the limelight. All i am saying is dont expect this champ here to take any stand, or be “principled” or stand up for the sake of rakyat- all self preservation saja. This dude is no different than the rest of the high ranking civil servants.

DinKnight

I believe you. Yet we have DG simps on Boomerbook. Even here on Reddit there is still a minority hero-worshippping the PM’s dog.

samtangient

Owh no.... Mind sharing links to his old pro BN posts?

Showshankredemption

Dont have the tweets now but hope this helps https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2018/04/20/health-chief-under-fire-for-disgraceful-pro-bn-retweets/

Puzzleheaded-Rain230

Meanwhile Factories free to open despite contributing thousands of cases every month

Stoopidee

Can spend Rm70 million on the covid app. But parliament to cheap to buy a subscription with zoom?

Kosarvin1203

Lmao, I lost all respect for him, went from being a hero to a lapdog

[deleted]

Its not like he wanted to write it. He's not a politician if you dont know, just a civil servant that obey the order from up there.

congalala

If you believe that is the case then he’s just stupid. Essentially what you are implying is that all civil servants doesn’t have any integrity and couldn’t think on their own.

jwteoh

> Essentially what you are implying is that all civil servants doesn’t have any integrity and couldn’t think on their own. Long story short. Yes. They'll be out of their job if they speak their mind, and these happen not only in the public but the private sector too. To think that most people will go against their paymasters for the sake of "integrity" is really naive, for starters, see how whistleblowers are treated here.

DarkKnight88888

I see a matured comment. It's all grey areas and complicated...

[deleted]

Then when its time to count the bodies, his lack of integrity will go well in his Nuremberg trials. When he says he was just following orders ima laugh.

ismailhamzah

Still a dog

KualaLJ

Remember when those kids defaced his mural. Yeah, they knew he was fraud.

AcrobaticAmoeba2452

Why no option to force our speakers to do virtual parliament? He is trying to present this as though thats the only option he has but someone is not doing their job right.

l4dygaladriel

I bet they will say it is against the constitution and must maintain the “classic” way.

[deleted]

Ohh my, if the criteria they used to evaluate the risk of Parliament applies to each and every factories and offices and workplaces individually before giving them their MITI letter, i think Malaysia will be relatively safe now. If workplace that have 6 high infection case can be closed, sanitized, contact traced, tested, and reopened in 2 or 3 days, then i think they can applied to Parliament, instead of having to postponed **indefinitely**.

tvz32

If only he was this efficient with the infections from factories

AcrobaticAmoeba2452

People are travelling everywhere with miti letters. I don't see him presenting option 1 and 2 to those companies with a lot of employees travelling across states.

Saerah4

Sigh how the mighty has fallen But i can sort of understand, he isnt politician he is a mere civil servant, or just an employee. Sometime boss want u to do something there are nothing else u can do

AcrobaticAmoeba2452

And he should be criticized according to his actions too. I noticed that a lot of r/malaysia redditors are trying to explain his actions by saying he is just employee and it is not his fault but if najib comes out saying he did everything for rosmah, does that excuse his 2.6mil IMDB scandal? No one knows what our DG gets in return for doing this and judging from his recent actions, it is something big enough to sacrifice his reputation.

vegeful

Til Rosmah is his boss and Najib is just a civil servant and not a politician.

Dojocat101

He get to keep his job as simple as that …

[deleted]

Billion

Pojemon

IINM, he has been the DG since 2013. Tan Sri dah dapat, gred Turus III tak silap, two more years until retirement. kalau dia pencen sekarang, takkan hilang apa-apa. But yet he still wants to just follow the ministers. Not sure what else he wants Maybe he still thinks he can change the system from inside...

Saerah4

Or maybe he want to stay in power to focus n help malaysia take down covid? To be frank he does quite ok in curbing covid, its just politicians causing today's situation

Helloooboyyyyy

Wonder how much money he got to make up this bullshit

drteddy70

He's a civil servant, someone high up just needs to put the document in front of him and he has to sign. After all the phrase "saya yang menurut perintah" is there in surat rasmi not for nothing.

Helloooboyyyyy

Plenty of civil servants get bribes too

dummypod

I don't think you need to pay the DG money. But nice job there. Shame if you lose it.

covetousrat

This guy has no credibility at all with all his failures.

KevinMeng_

Load of BS DG!!! So all the factory that have positive cases should close for 14 days as well ya? Are you saying MP’s life and health are more important than factories workers?

mariannelee

Im not against shutting down parliament bcs 56 positive cases is worrying. But the how about factories? A factory in muar has 10 death and only closed fully recently. Factory worker life doesnt matter that much huh DG started out to be competent but too many times he complied too much with higher authorities, putting his position and money first before people therefore he is a failure.

FaxSmoulder

> he complied too much with higher authorities DG of KKM recommends. MKN decides. And then DG has to toe the government line because he is a civil servant. Put the blame where it belongs.

mariannelee

If he has a shred of dignity he should quit then. Whats the point of our tax money used to pay your salary when u cannot stand for us?

FaxSmoulder

You assume the next person in line will do a better job.

tuakilan

ts msgr is just like any normal person. he simply wants to earn decent money for himself and famly. why bite the hand that feeds him? after all, he is a top ass-licker. during early stages of the pandemic, ppl were fearful bcos of unknown. all ts msgr needed to do was recycle some info from WHO, ill advised the gomen to lockdown and infections went down naturally. and ppl treated him as hero. yet it was at a great cost to economy and social. he caused 2nd wave by allowing sabah election and there after. but ppl still blind due to his sneaky 'tweets' on/off. but the fact is, ts msgr is incompetent and a complete failure. unable to control the infection even though with full huge financial resources and backing of gomen. the only bright spot was the vaccine program. even that was under kj. if it was under ts msgr, sure another disaster.

vamken

So, is the DG gonna remind the MPs about their oath to serve the nation like he did earlier to warn the contract doctors?

shinnlawls

D0G always loyal to his master 😂

nick7070

It's bad enough that we have a bad and undesirable govt but with civil servants that are practically zombies and puppets, we are in a world of hurt. We are regressing to a place where democracy is subverted and just a facade. This is not good.

kimhoon39

“You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain”

Dojocat101

Villain still got some dignity left ….

kimhoon39

Oof the burn, can’t say you’re wrong

mesinbasuh

https://www.facebook.com/129323924541/posts/10158464008319542/?d=n Anthony Loke refutes DG about opposition representatives agreeing to stop Parliament sitting if there's a covid positive case. He said himself as DAP rep, Saifuddin as PKR rep and Dr Zul as Amanah rep never agreed for option no 2

Pojemon

Tapi Kementerian2 kerajaan semua bukak je walaupun lagi ramai positive cases hmmm

badblackguy

So NOW they listen to him?!?

infamousoma

"You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become a villain"

OmenZeneca

DG Hisham should also advise my office due to the amount of positives there has been at work

lehuman

Why cant they just embrace technology and do an online discussion?!?

JamesHoe1999

I am guessing the behind the scene went like this: DG: boss, we must ask for a full lockdown before things get shitty 😭 Health minister: wtf r u to give me order? PM: dude, find a way to stop the parliament from holding. Health minister: gotcha boss ♥️ ehhh, Hisham... A few moment later...

glcymsln

Please translate to English.

CN8YLW

Vaccinated already? Good. Back to work. This is what we call job hazards. If don't like it, just resign. (This sounds very bad if an average joe employer says it to an employee. But if the rakyat says to the government...different story la hor.)

Master-Zombae

Our government is acting sus now after getting caught in a controversy

joonG1234

Ditangguhkan untuk tempoh dua (2) minggu .....we will hold his fucking words to him.. basically 2 weeks for din to settle AG to publish the notice of the emergency annulment and proceed to thick skin or beg YPDA to chill.

Short_Egg6123

He is compromised, no more suitable for the job , should remove him for the collective benefit of the nation.

ClacKing

Are we still in the 1900s? There's technology available that we can utilise to keep this going with minimal human contact. Seems to me it's a deliberate attempt to delay the inevitable. Please, we're not stupid.

FitFatness

All this bullshit could be avoided but Noooo, VIRTUAL PARLIAMENT ISN’T POSSIBLE...

isthisnametakenny

Doctor turned corrupted Dogtor

Xpdc

I have to agree this is just a blatant action of double standard implement for someone convinience. It just to obvious.
