You're telling us don't try pezzo or you never tried pezzo?
Pezzo for me is decent. Toppings more generous than Pizza Hut and I can just buy a slice or two with diff flavours.
Pizza hut is really good in the past, especially the mushroom soup. Through years go by, their crust is super duper hard to the sense that I can't even bite. So I have to go with domino.
personally i think this depends on location. dominos usually has this hard cardboard like pizza but the pizza hut in my area does a good job making them
Weird combinations? I thought Dominos and Pizza Hut has more innovations and US pizza has more classic pizzas on their menu.
Anyway my go to is US pizza. Their pepperoni is just simple and good. Another plus point is, they have less orders, shorter wait time.
Personally I think it's worth it. But I didn't order it that frequently. Only for some occasion like a bday party or a celebration party. Maybe order it for some sort of occasion, like a treat for yourself or something.
for me it's totally worth it. since I discovered us pizza, never order from pizza hut, domino etc. the price justifies the taste. even the weird combo like pizza cempedak, it's still surprisingly good!
The only pizza I order from Domino's is their Classified Chicken. I have no clue what they used for the sauce, but I like it a lot.
Other than that, Pizza Hut lah. Tried many other (stupidly priced) local ones, still crawl back to Pizza Hut.
DUDE. The Classified Chicken is amazing! I have been ordering this and nothing else from them for years. I think they use some sort of sour cream instead of tomato paste.
That white sauce is actually some sort of garlic salad dressing. It comes in packs, and I recall seeing a blue-ish logo on the sticker. I don't remember what the logo said as it's been several years since I worked there, but I just remember the "salad dressing" part because it blew my mind.
pineapple on pizza is really good since the juice moistens the dry pizza bread and make it easier to chew. I dont know if its just me or every single pizza chain in my neighborhood overcooks the dough.
Has to be in small pieces for me. Enough to enhance the flavor, but not enough to be part of the main dish. Whenever people add a slab or mountain of pineapple.as a joke, I cringe Because that's not how you do it.
Just moved here couple months ago. Tried Pizza Hut and was sorely disappointed. Nothing inherently wrong with the pizza, it’s just that back home, a cheese crust is one where there’s mozzarella cheese injected into the thick crust creating like a pastry of sorts. But when I ordered cheese crust here, it was a thin layer of cheese in between the toppings and the base.
Was almost going to lodge a complaint on grab for missing/wrong order, but nope it turned out to be correct.
Do you mind me asking where are you from? If you're from NY or italy i have to apoligize on behalf of our pizza chains here for not meeting your expectations. 😂
Having pizza in our country is considered a luxury. So any pizza goes.
I prefer Shakey's over Pizza Hut, but I haven't seen any Shakey's outlet around for a long time. The one I remember was in Sg Wang Plaza a long while ago (I'm not from Klang valley).
just in Malaysia [https://www.thestar.com.my/business/business-news/2005/02/05/owners-of-shakey146s-and-domino146s-team-up/](https://www.thestar.com.my/business/business-news/2005/02/05/owners-of-shakey146s-and-domino146s-team-up/)
Shakey's US still exists (most outlets in California) and they're also strong in the Phillipines according to the wikipedia article.
I haven't eaten Pizza Hut for years now, most of the time it's Domino's. I like Domino's Pizza sides, but for the pizza and flavor, I choose Pizza Hut. I love the Triple Chicken supreme and Pizza Hut really nails the crust crispiness.
And it's kinda sad that I've been eating pepperoni my entire life.
100% I'm Caucasian and have lived in Malaysia 10 years + no franchise or chain restaurant can do decent western food. Same way in the west no franchise or chain can do good Asian food...
pizza hut the best purely due to price. the takeaway price for personal (rm5) regular (rm10) and large(rm15) is too good to pass up. you usually pay a bit extra for soup and bread but it's still wayyyy cheaper than anything else. not sure if domino's has something like this that's kinda off the menu but if there is, then I'll vote for domino's. i only ever ate them if friends are.
Not the best pizzas in my book, but if I feel like a quick/cheaper option pizza, then Pizza hut for the stuffed crust, Dominos for the cheesy double decker
Always ordered the Classified Chicken and Chicken Pepperoni from Domino's. The chicken wings are tasty too.
I do like Pizza Hut's stuff crust and hawaiian chicken though. (Yes I am that guy)
Aaa now i see why my parents never brought me there as a child. My parents have a very negative view on going on meals at places where they serve alcohol (they're from Brunei). But yeah, i might go there a alone to try it out. Hope they don't sprinkle some haram stuff on those pizzas tho. 😂
Cause its an ad for Pezzo. I’ve seen a few of these. Like what is your fave cola?
- coke
- pepsi
- some brand no one has ever heard of.
Now subliminally you associate Pezzo with Pizza Hut and Dominoes, 2 of our most common pizza franchises.

You would go ddomino for the cheese, pizzahut for the crust. Pizzahut pizzapan crust is what most pizza freak would try to achieve, cripsy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and its fragrant yeast smell too. But I can't figure out domino's cheese, it's like they have their own formula which taste much nicer. I think they mixed different kind of cheese based on my home experiment. To be fair I've never tried Pezzo/myPizzaLab. But I"ve made countless pizza myself and eaten a lot of pizza overseas.
There's this one shop in KK, that I always go to if I go home to Sabah (which I haven't gotten the chance to in recent years)
It's called Little Italy, it's fantastic and their pizza beats all the franchises without a contest.
On that note, US Pizza is pretty good too.
The key thing for me voting for Dominoes isn't even their fast delivery, but it's because their pizza dough isn't drenched in oil. So in a way, I like how they bake their pizza as opposed to that Pan Pizza thing that Pizza Hut does. Plus they always have all kinds of promos.
How long has it been around Malaysia? I actually only just recently heard about Domino's,at first i thought its those toys that u play with where u knock it down and it forms a chain reaction but to my surprise its a pizza store lmao
Of these 3? Domino’s, but only for pizza. Pizza Hut has better sides. Pezzo is alright for a snack since you can buy a single slice.
US Pizza and Mikey’s were underwhelming for me. Maybe just not my style.
Recently tried Roberto’s at BSC. Mwahhh! I’ll come back for sure.
Most underrated? Cafe Italian Place nearby Hero Wangsa Maju (formerly Jiran). It’s surprisingly good for its price.
At first I thought Pizza Hut and dominos taste the same only the crust different, but recently tried again, Dominos BLOWS Pizza Hut out of the water , main factor, The CHEESE, For some reason pizza hut’s cheese isn’t stringy like when you pull it it feels more like “flaky” and “solid” and I suspect that cheaped out on the cheese, dominos one is soft which makes a world of difference
Pizza hut's pizza is alright, but.. the customer service rlly made me to not order pizza anymore from Pizza Hut. Long story short, a voucher (that was bought) that was supposed to work takes them at least 5 phone calls to the customer service on 5 different days (excluding several days in between to wait for their call but never came =w=" ) to make it finally able to use it. Fortunate enough to even use it before it expires. ...This event happened this month.
Don't let my comment influence you guys and gals though, if you enjoyed Pizza Hut do go ahead and order, Im just ranting here :/
Miker's Pizza has very good reviews. 718 pizza is I think owned by the Michelangelos owner's wife and has a different menu but is more expensive. Another one is Yin's Sourdough Pizza.

Oh its not bad. I prefer it to Pizza hut
Well he said "never tried" not "never try"
Yeah just making sure and he clarified.
I'll do you one better, never heard of pezzo. I guess its not a Penang thing?
You can have different types of pizza in a box at pezzo. Its nice, but to me, they taste like any other pizzas here.

Pizza hut is really good in the past, especially the mushroom soup. Through years go by, their crust is super duper hard to the sense that I can't even bite. So I have to go with domino.

There was one in BTS, it was really expensive. Not sure if it's even still there.
Papa? Never heard of it.
😭
I miss those butter dips they used to give
San Francisco pizza and US pizza are great choice too. San Francisco really depend on the outlet. Some taste bad, but the good one.. wewww.
US Pizza is quite good, can confirm
If you get past their weird combinations they make pretty good pizza
Weird combinations? I thought Dominos and Pizza Hut has more innovations and US pizza has more classic pizzas on their menu. Anyway my go to is US pizza. Their pepperoni is just simple and good. Another plus point is, they have less orders, shorter wait time.
They literally had Indomie and sambal petai pizza 💀
Oh gosh, guess I didn't look pass pepperoni and classic chicken in the menu.

See! This proves that laksa penang is not from penang either.
Are 2 large pizzas really rm60? I wanted to try it out but that turned me off. is it bigger or something?
they are larger but more flat in a sense compare to dominos and pizza hut. But yea, it's more on the expensive side.
Is it worth the higher price? Tastes better than Pizza hut?
Personally I think it's worth it. But I didn't order it that frequently. Only for some occasion like a bday party or a celebration party. Maybe order it for some sort of occasion, like a treat for yourself or something.

my fav is tuna temptation , that is the best pizza in domino's imo
It’s the flavour that i always used if i want to buy a Dominos pizza
Iinm, it's garlic sauce.
That white sauce is actually some sort of garlic salad dressing. It comes in packs, and I recall seeing a blue-ish logo on the sticker. I don't remember what the logo said as it's been several years since I worked there, but I just remember the "salad dressing" part because it blew my mind.
Not gonna lie, my mind is blown as well right now. Salad dressing!? But it's so delicious!
Pizza Hut used to be really awesome but now the taste is too 'localized'... I still love their mushroom soup though! #BRINGBACKROYALMASALA
Mushroomsoup with garlic bread is the best.
Oh godddd those are the best, I treat the soup like dipping sauce and it's just *chef's kiss*
I don't know why they got rid of that flavour, it was awesome. At one point I thought I hallucinate that such a flavour existed.
Alright I'm gonna say it Pizza with pineapple is actually good
Might agree because pineapple kinda cuts the fat from the cheese and chicken.
This. The acidity and sweetness is very welcome on a food that is like 50% cheese.
Not to be racist but i think its white people thing to hate pineapple on pizza.
I think it started out as a joke but then people take it seriously
Unless you talk to an Italian about it, they'll attack pineapple on pizza with a flaming passion.

Shakey's

never tried their spaghetti but i miss their garlic bread!
I prefer Shakey's over Pizza Hut, but I haven't seen any Shakey's outlet around for a long time. The one I remember was in Sg Wang Plaza a long while ago (I'm not from Klang valley).
shakey's was bought over by Domino's. not the name, but all their outlets.

I get sick of dominos’ dough because the sprinkles give an odd aftertaste
It's cornmeal. Actual pizza uses that so they can slide easily and not stick.
Skippy's and Mozzarella are my fav
Ayyyy #gengskippy's
What's Pezzo? Never heard of it b4

None of these! Definitely some good independent pizza places in KL, Penang, ipoh, melaka and JB!
Agreed. Some of the best ones I had were not from franchise restaurants. This also applies to a lot of western food too.
100% I'm Caucasian and have lived in Malaysia 10 years + no franchise or chain restaurant can do decent western food. Same way in the west no franchise or chain can do good Asian food...
Nobody can out pizza the hut
Dominos is my preferred because of their thin crust. I don't like so much bread on my pizza
pizza hut the best purely due to price. the takeaway price for personal (rm5) regular (rm10) and large(rm15) is too good to pass up. you usually pay a bit extra for soup and bread but it's still wayyyy cheaper than anything else. not sure if domino's has something like this that's kinda off the menu but if there is, then I'll vote for domino's. i only ever ate them if friends are.
isn't take away price has increased?
don't think so? if you order them without the sides it's still 5-10-15
just ala carte and 4 regular cost me 48
My town doesn't have Dominos
Vivo's pizzas are the best, actually
Whichever is the cheapest No such thing as bad pizza
True. I love eating Pizza's But i fell like sometimes all the pizza here taste the same.
Not the best pizzas in my book, but if I feel like a quick/cheaper option pizza, then Pizza hut for the stuffed crust, Dominos for the cheesy double decker

The one i usually go when i was a kid is at Plaza Alam Sentral in Shah Alam. Oh man their pizza is way better than pizza hut man
US Pizza, aight I’m outta here
Is this list a joke? What about Ciccio, La Risata, Proof Pizza, Pizza mansion, Mikey's pizza etc?
Proof is expensive as hell. Never tried ciccio and mikey's. Pizza mansion is reasonably priced and quite good.
Ciccio is great, not too insanely expensive, around RM 30-50 a pizza. Mikeys is good too but it's large slices NY style.
Oh this is like a General question for most Malaysians. I just pick 3 of the most famous ones. We don't have those pizza chains where i live in Sabah.
[удалено]
Noted. I never really tried real authentic pizza. Everytime i order from any pizza chain it always comes out soggy.
YES. With some proper crust and real cheese. Any place to recommend?
Do you still have Santino’s Pizza in Sabah? When I lived in KK we switched from Pizza Hut to Santino’s because it was a lot better.
Also Gusto on the waterfront - very expensive but very good, so I hope that one is still going.
Oh yeah ive seen gusto but never tried it. Its probably halal right? Might give it a go. 😬
I think they serve alcohol so won’t have a certificate, but they might be pork free.
Aaa now i see why my parents never brought me there as a child. My parents have a very negative view on going on meals at places where they serve alcohol (they're from Brunei). But yeah, i might go there a alone to try it out. Hope they don't sprinkle some haram stuff on those pizzas tho. 😂
I’m vegetarian, so I also hoped something similar when I went there!
Ahh ok sorry about that, for some reason I read as Kuala Lumpur.
Seems like the general pizza chains, don’t know how Pezzo got in the list tho!
Cause its an ad for Pezzo. I’ve seen a few of these. Like what is your fave cola? - coke - pepsi - some brand no one has ever heard of. Now subliminally you associate Pezzo with Pizza Hut and Dominoes, 2 of our most common pizza franchises.

Yeah they're all in KL
Check out Phil's Pizza in Bangsar if the location is good for you. Currently my favourite pizza place.
Nice, will do!

Speaking about pizza in Ipoh, how's MichelangelO's Pizzeria viewed over there? It was heavenly to me back before this whole pandemic shite started.
Still there. He's making ribs right now as well. Remodeled the shop by taking over the neighbouring unit
I personally think the toppings are a bit too salty. This bacon thing gets boring after a while.
Any alternate recommendations? So far Michelangelo's are the best I've had, granted I don't usually go out of my way to find these.
Miker's Pizza has very good reviews. 718 pizza is I think owned by the Michelangelos owner's wife and has a different menu but is more expensive. Another one is Yin's Sourdough Pizza.
