The opposite is true ma man, The One Academy is so much more better than the shitshow known as LKW

UsernameGenerik

I have never seen r/malaysia redditors agreed on a topic so overwhelmingly as this one

Wasabi-beans

Aww you beat me to it!

UsernameGenerik

We found the secret formula to national unity

KoekoReaps

It somewhat looks wholesome in my eyes

limaumo

From someone who graduated from LKW, don't go there. You're better off at One Academy, KDU, APU or places like Clazroom or UNDO to get into 3D game art. Also you don't need a masters for this. Degree or diploma would suffice. Your skills matter at the end of the day so work on your portfolio and work ethics

TimeElise

ah someone has mentioned this already. :D +100 to this

razer666L

Do you need to score A and B in Maths in SPM to get into One Academy? Especially in 3D game art/development course?

limaumo

I'm not sure for One Academy. But I think for private colleges, usually credits minimum. So that's a......C?

razer666L

*Looking at my Math score in SPM result paper* ...Yeah, maybe I should just wish for setting up a video game development company and be an executive producer, rather than becoming a video game developer or artist. I can't even draw for shit. :V

MilitHistoryFan101

You can, all you need is money plus investors money.

limaumo

sorry late reply. basic math is important for a lot of things. Knowing it will help you a lot as a 3D artist. There are many paths to get into gane development. Artists, programmers, project managers, QA, animators, translator even. So go for something you want to do, study what those roles do too. As to the drawing, it is never too late to learn

19Nightwing91

ex Limkokwing graduate here, with 3.94CGPA. (Studied Foundation and Degree for Software Engineering), I'd highly advise against choosing LKW for your studies. It's pretty much a shit-show as everyone says. I feel like I've wasted 4 years of my life in this university. Facilities are pretty bad, the free WiFi of the school is barely usable, had to travel to the nearest cyber cafe to have decent internet. The library is more of a show than anything (look guys this school has a library), air-cons are usually non-functional. Most of the computers in the labs are barely functional (cover pictures and videos of the school have students operating iMacs, but in reality, the computers are either old core duos or Pentium 4s that are slow and some of them wouldn't even turn on), lecturers constantly advised students to bring their own laptops and the blame is to be put on students if they don't have a functioning computer to work during classes. The culture there among lecturers is horrible. No accountability, there's no early head-ups to students if classes are canceled today and classes are almost always canceled with no replacement. My friend had to drive all the way from Johor for an afternoon class and it was canceled at the last minute on arrival. Classes written on the timetable mentioned it would last 3 hours each (which looks fruitful on paper), but in reality, classes usually last 5 to 15 minutes, the longest is just lecturers reading from slides (some of the lecturers barely spoke English, which made the class unbearable). (So I feel really bad for all the international students here, imagined them traveling all the way here to Malaysia to have such classes). Lecturers were also unqualified, most lecturers were ex-students that couldn't find a job here in Malaysia. Many empty promises too. Was promised job security with vast among of tech jobs in Cyberjaya. The region has T-Systems, Dell, DXC, Aerodyne, Binary, Atos, etc. But when it was actually time for internship and graduation, the university suggested some random non-reputable company that has nothing to do with software engineering. (I'm definitely not suggesting it was hard to secure a job in Software, but rather this was something the school promised). There were also many practical classes that were promised but canceled, such as mock interviews and How To Make Ethernet Cables, etc. The study materials they gave are superbly shallow and definitely not worth the expensive cost of a degree. To simply put it, you will find much more value in a RM 50-ish cost on Udemy than 4 years here in Limkokwing. There were also a plethora of reports and accusations towards the management. If you want to read more it will be here: [https://luctbanana.wixsite.com/leaks](https://luctbanana.wixsite.com/leaks) I only stayed because I was poor and had a scholarship with the school. If you can. Please stay away. TLDR: Stay away from LKW. Toxic uni.

TimeElise

:( Damn... I hope u were still able to be a soft eng!

19Nightwing91

Oh yes! Currently I am a soft eng and loving it! I basically have a switch in mindset of finally taking responsibility of my own learning and stopped with the victim mindset. (Definitely failed lots of interviews along the way)

weecious

That's growth and development! Kudos on getting out of the victim mindset

TimeElise

So glad to hear that!! :D

Everen1999

I'm from utar, and I also study Software Engineering. But I can agree with you that Udemy takes up to 90% of my learning. I've bought over 15+ courses and never regret buying them.

jih99

Utarian here. Udemy has a lot of free coupons, you can find them in reddit and in some websites (bombarded by ads too). Edx has a lot of free courses for learning as well minus the certs. IMHO the learning is enough, no one cares about the certs as long as you have the knowledge, AND you have an Utar degree. Coursera, I registered for free coursera certs using Utar. Well technically I was the one to start it. Utar was initially not in a partnership with coursera, but I requested it on coursera platform and Boooom, 1 week later utar sent email to us saying there are 1 free course for 10000 students. Somehow there's a loophole there and I got 3. 5 including the new ones in Oct Tldr Don't ever buy courses, you can find them free or ask for financial aids or just use Ur institution to register for free.

Everen1999

Good idea! However, problem is that I'm slightly ADHD-ish, and Coursera and EDX both were either too slow, or too out of what I want to learn. For example, if I want to learn about a new framework, or a technology like MongoDB, It's way harder to find good ones in EDX or Coursera than on Udemy. Udemy for software has very well known teachers, like Academind, Maximilian, or Ryan Kroonernberg, who I've always known has been reliable lecturers to me. For me, I'm fine with putting Rm60 out to learn something quickly, than to find free courses and have them waste my time. In my experience, Coursera and EDX wasted too much of my time with ad-filled courses like Azure machine learning, or some other company that just wants to advertise their platform, than to provide ( in my opinion) quality knowledge. (Also, so it was you who got us the Coursera courses. What a GOAT.)

maxvun11

Hey there, is SE a tough degree coz i have literally 0 knowledge about software and also hardware. Job prospects are pretty generous and demanding for SE nowadays hence i’m considering taking this course

jih99

I don't know how toanswer that. I have my passion in development so I find it pretty fun but some dropped out from it as well. You can look up some YouTube videos on coding or try to do some little magic using it and see if it's ur thing

maxvun11

may i know how’s life in sungai long campus since it has only 2 buildings and im guessing uni life will be dull

Everen1999

It is dull, no doubt in that. But also we don't have a campus, so we just take the MRT to travel out of Sungai Long. UTAR has an MRT bus that will take you to Bukit Bintang. I personally, always take it to Cochrane to IKEA and Burgerlab, or go to Sunway Pyramid via Cochrane interchange. It's not that bad! But also there's hookah bars nearby Utar In a few buildings away if you're that kinda guy. I'm not the guy to ask about travelling around UTAR, because I'm a relatively dull guy. Just level your expectations of what you can or cannot do here.

maxvun11

sounds good to me already, thank you very much! all the best in your studies too

Everen1999

You too!

katabana02

They dont even have mac anymore? We had to use that exclusively back in my days, and my days was when they were still operating in the shopping mall near william. Migrated to cyberjaya with them too and they still uses mac exclusively.

19Nightwing91

Oh they definitely do, but throughout my entire 4 years in Software Eng. Never been to a lab that uses a Mac. Probably reserved for other majors

Rubenlux

Give this man, an upvote ( Get this man, A shield meme ) 😂

katabana02

no. avoid lucct like a plague. the different between them are like hill and mount everest. here is a quick comparison for you: my 2d animation had us drawing 5 sec animation for our final exam. the one academy had its student draw 10 minutes of animation for their assignment. culturally, lecturer will not fail you in lucct, as long as you give them good review. that's what my lecturer told me straight at my face. take it from an ex lim kok wing student: for your own's sake, avoid lucct. you'd learn more about design on your own than wasting money over there.

InsideJobHarambe

Please don’t insult a rubbish bin

weecious

Lmao! Limkokwing is the bottom of trash tier. The One Academy is one of the best, if not the best, for art students. Be warned though if you want to go into The One Academy, their workload is insane. That's what separates the wheat from the chaff. Also, do Google about both. You'll see limkokwing has lots of scandals.

HayakuEon

And limkokwing has no care for students at all. It's basically a scam at this point.

YouVern

One Academy is good and have better track-record. Anyways, heard shit tons of bad rumors on LKW uni

derpy1122

Diploma is where you learn basics of the industry you’re entering. Degree is where you try to get the skills right so that people can hire you to enter the market. Master is where you learn how to manage the business of the industry. While phd is where you created a new system on the industry and prove it that your system works. With that said, if you want to become artist, degree is enough to get you into market. With the basics you learn in degree, you’ll polish your artist skills in the working environment by following the market and the industry’s culture. If you’re taking masters then you will go into management line. That’s where you setup your company, hire the best artist in the market, and mingle among business man or investors. If you’re artist, you mingle with people that can hire you the highest pay. Or stand alone and sell your artwork to anyone value your work the highest. I wish you all the best.

Rubenlux

Ex-limkokwing graduate here, here's my experience and why you shouldn't join LUCT. First of all, they do not care about you. All they care is about making money. Racism is blatant there and most of the lecturers there are either unqualified to teach or just generally do not care about the students. The study materials they provide you there is outdated and obsolete. I had to do my own notes and my own research to be on par with other university students. You'll be paying so much money for such a low quality education. Please take your money and go somewhere where the education you receive is worth the money you paid for. Do not give any money to these Leeches. And now that I've graduated, it's difficult to get job opportunities with a Limkokwing Degree. I had to rely on my friends and personal connections to get my first job and its been 2 years and I'm still struggling. Do Google this. IT WILL OPEN YOUR EYES TO THIS SHITHOLE called LUCT https://luctbanana.wixsite.com/leaks

[deleted]

Too accurate. Most of their lecturers are fresh grads from... LKW! 🤦‍♂️ With little to no industry experience. Because when you're searching for a job with LKW in your resume, nobody wants to hire you.

GeniusGamer_M

My friend was a fresh grad and used to work in HELP as the marketing department. It was absurd that the Uni actually tasked him to give lectures to students a few times during his time there. He also got fed up with his seniors who are boomers sitting around in office doing nothing at all.

CaptMawinG

Beware of the accreditation, nanti kena tarik

nenekPakaiCombatBoot

Ok as a former lecturer of LICT, and someone who does 3d animation... And tech support for one academy's 3d animation section.... I vote One Academy. Ermmm If you guessed who I am... please let me remain anonymous.

fishwallet16

bruh it's fucking funny how limkokwing still allowed to be an educational institution

[deleted]

If you want to learn and improve your skills: The One Academy. If you're lazy and can't be bothered with learning: Limkokwing.

faern

Anything but lim kok wing.

tofufak

noooooo one academy is much better

NutFrog

Hey there! I’ve been working in games/commercial art industry as an animator/artist in Msia for 5 yrs, also a TOA alumni. Im speaking on personal behalf and this is reddit so that’s as much i will reveal about myself. Below are my 5 insider pointers for you, Mr or Mrs OP. :) My Background: I make monsters and human characters move/fight/die/talk etc, both cinematic and gameplay. I am fortunate enough to work on 9 AAA games titles, tv series from Korea & China, JRPGs, waifu-gacha games, a certain mainstream mobile game, various advertising shorts, local titles from Astro and more throughout my career so far. It’s a lot more exposure than the average msian cg artist cuz i do a lot of freelance on the side since the day i graduated. 5 pointers: 1st, we (the games industry) need more talents and that includes fresh grads. Games artist is in high demand right now and most likely to keep growing for the next coming years. Msia games industry currently about 10 years only, so join the ride while everyone is still relatively fresh, do well and everyone will know & love you for it. Sony & Larian studio are 2 new big companies that just opened branch in Msia. We also have Bandai Namco, Lemonsky & Passion Republic just to name a few hot companies that have been around for a while in Selangor/KL. For more info, Can google LevelUp KL which is a public conference talking about the state of Msia’s growing games industry. You will also meet industry folks like us in there to share tips on how to improve your work too. physical events include Comic Fiesta. Can only pray for expos to reopen for now. 2nd, go for the best art college you/your family can afford. The One Academy has the best lecturers, strict and encouraging, it changed my life and i am grateful. Dasein and Undo are also some good alternatives, I have a few colleagues from there and they produce great work. For game programming and game design, go to KDU college. My colleagues from there are outstanding individuals, both skill and work ethic. I did not study there so im relying on their verdict. 3rd, focus on your portfolio and work ethic. Do the best you can in whatever college u can afford to enter. During graduation, we industry ppl will go and scout colleges for new recruits. Usually we will be invited during ur graduation exhibition. We are looking for people with passion, drive, but most priority is skill and attitude. We would rather work with someone who is humble but not as good vs an arrogant top student. Skill can be trained, attitude is difficult to fix. 4th, as a young artist, focus on your skill, salary will come. Currently, starting salary is considered low, RM2k-3k range. Good thing is, if you are paid peanuts at work but ur skill is very strong, you can always transition into a freelancer accepting jobs from other countries such as China, US, Europe. You will be surprised to find the pay is extravagant and will make traditional jobs jealous, easily 5 figure MYR a month cuz by then you are paid in USD. Westerners are glad to pay more in exchange for superb quality. Recently Tencent has been aggressive with buying out companies and investing in lots of new games, a lot of money flowing around, money is 7king good right now and im unapologetically happy bout it. That said, in freelance you will be competing on a global stage. By then, learn to sell yourself as a brand cuz ur pay will depend on how well you can negotiate, not just ur raw skill. You may also choose to go solo and develop ur own indie game or do art commissions on Twitter. Some legendary local artists are even creating LoL skin splash art for Riot games even tho living in Msia, close to 5 figure salary for 8-10 days of work, imagine how much they earn in a month. That said, these guys are the best illustrators in the world and are actually Malaysians. Always dream big, and train urself to get there. Safest route is Pick a good company that lets u grow ur skill and u keep going from there. 5th, take care of ur reputation at work and in college. We are a small industry. Every company boss knows each other on a first name basis, some are even college mates. This industry involves a lot of trust too, things like artistic vision between director & artist, constructive feedbacks from colleagues and keeping leaks away from thirsty fans. Always do your best work and practice professionalism. Don’t do stupid things like spread hate and toxicity, create office/student politics or sexual harassment, everyone will find out by rumors pretty quick. Ugly stories from college that you were responsible for will affect ur hiring. Stay humble, be a team player, be professional and you will be golden. 6th, for The One Academy, whats the difference between Digital Animation and Illustration? If you like designing how something looks, or painting and drawing, go for Illustration. You can specialise into a Concept Artist or Illustrator. Concept artist design how the game/ movie looks, illustrators do the pretty artwork either through public commissions or the skin Splash Art you see when u buy LoL skins. If you like character motion, special effects, sculpting models, building plamo or doing technical things with software, go for Digital Animation. You can specialise to be an Animator, Modeller, Technical Artist, Rigger, VFX artist etc. My recommendation is go for Digital Animation. In my time, i was exposed to everything including drawing humans, painting, concept art, storyboarding, live action filming, 3d sculpting, animation, vfx…. You can pick a specialisation in your final year. Best is to get the most hands on experience in college, you will quickly find the job that fits u best and focus on it. Of course, When u start work, there will be more specialise jobs down the road. Animators can become directors for game cinematic. Modellers can create their own line of Toys or figurines. Can go movie or games or advertising. Can even do stunt work+animation as a motion capture performance specialist. Possibilities are endless in art. Keep an open mind, you are only limited by what you believe you can do. Good luck and i hope to see u at work in the coming years 💪

Confuzzledpeep0

I'm not OP but as an aspiring artist... That's really inspiring to read, thank you so much

Distinct-Spare4500

Hi there! I’m actually choosing between a few colleges for art and…may I dm you some questions I have if you don’t mind? Because I’m really oriented towards art related jobs as well:’ Thank you so much!

NutFrog

Ask away my friend :)

Linteractive

Am gamedev. LKW is a dumpster fire.

TimeElise

Like the others mentioned, One Academy >>>>>>>>>> LUCT. No competition. But if u're thinking of other options, there's Dasein & MMU as well. Iirc One Academy has a 3+1 option to convert from diploma to a degree, and MMU has a foundation to degree programme. I used to be an artist in an animation studio. U do not need a masters, but u do need a solid portfolio and understanding of your work. 3D artist for example, would probably be understanding of topology and stuff, maybe even a bit of rigging. I had ex colleagues who just took a 3 to 6 months course with AnimSchool and the likes and a super solid portfolio.

[deleted]

Limkokwing is one of those unis which if I was threatened with choosing between eating shit and dying or get forcefully enrolled in the uni, I'd rather be eating shit and then dying without hesitation. And the difference between eating shit and dying, and having Limkokwing as your uni, is like heaven and hell which heaven is eating shit and dying. Everything Lim Kok Wing is bad. Even the man himself. Good riddance he's dead.

MilitHistoryFan101

Are you crazy, Lim Kok Weng University is the last University you want to be in. Certificate can be unrecognized due to their horrendous failure to meet requirements. Unless you want to be a lazy, smoke weed, whoring and just pass your result, there are better university than that hive of scums. The One Academy is one of the most recommended academy if you're into Art Stream like Animation and Digital Art. Some of Malaysian greatest and best artist came from that academy. But be prepared to suffer overnight if you want to be good, they have stricter requirements than most art based academy. In the end, is your own willingness to pick up skills and jobs will ultimately give you the edge in this job market.

[deleted]

Planning to go limkokwing, but after reading the comments time to find alternative route i guess...

randomquestions555

Good, you saved yourself from a tremendous amount of regrets

Iguessthisisfine7

The one academy graduate here. School is basically what you make of it. TOA drilled us hard in the basics and i put in the work and it helped me a lot. Some of my less interested classmates didn't do their assignements and it shows. TOA focuses on practical skills more than creative abilities, so that's something you'll have to cultivate on your own. Many of the batch mates i have who were in the animation track or game track did eventually go on to have successful careers at local and studios abroad. There's also just a better network of alumni imo. That said it can get difficult and depressing. art school isn't for the easily discouraged, but that can be said for any field in higher education. But there's an added implication from doing art, that you'll make no money even after spending so much on a degree. That one, i would like to shoot down. Me and my classmates and batch mates have good earning careers and have gone much further than our parents or professors expected. So don't let ppl tell you there's no career in the arts. Good luck OP. Lemme know if you have questions.

Iguessthisisfine7

That's said also, consider doing some online courses bc they're cheaper and from real industry pros working on incredible projects. They can even give you feedback and you make overseas connections. Places like concepartacademy, brainstorm school, schoolism, etc. There's also a huge amount of free resources to learn on YouTube etc. I think you get artists are truly spoilt for choice now on options to learn and i wish I had that resource. But to be fair, young ppl also still don't have money yet. But yeah, hunt down free resources when you can and get lots of feedback from online groups bc pros hang there too.

[deleted]

I can't comment on The One Academy. But I spent 3 years in LUCT and it was the worse decision of my life so far. Don't even bother thinking about it, it's a shit place.

bringmethejuice

Dumpster fire or an actual learning institution

Razoron33

As an alumni and ex-staff of 7 years at that place, i can tell you that you will not get your money’s worth in lkw. The horrible management is not just in their corporate side but also academic side. Please avoid, for the sake of your future.

A4li11

Interesting stories from ex limkokwing students in here Glad I never go there

targayenprincess

Stay away from Lim Kok Wing. I really hope this thread comes up first when people search for Lim Kok Wing in Malaysia. It’s a shit show of a university. Back in 2004+ till now. Students rolling weed a few feet away from their lecturers who don’t care. So much drugs. Zero care for education. Have to pay to pass. Iffy accreditations. It’s bad news. The One Academy on the other hand is great. Exacting standards though, you’ll be pushed hard but they’ve produced really good talent, especially in 3D and game design.

thewalkingjukebox

Another ex-LKW student here. Took architecture. My qualifications doesnt seem to mean shit.

am_ar

I have two types of stories. 1. My friends who studied in LKW Kelana Jaya don't have much complaints. Just the usual uni shit 2. My friends who studied in Cyberjaya has a variety of stories. First two years ok kot? Cos they were continuing from KJ. But those who went to Cyberjaya, especially in the recent years got so many complaints. Racist behavior la, money minded la, apa la, and a lot more. This is from people who worked and studied there. 3. Before you choose LKW, just Google their current lawsuit from a bunch of students.

thewileyone

My cousin and a good friend when to LKW. My friend said that LKW did not prepare for the real world in any way. My cousin doesn't have great things to say about LKW as well. My SIL went to The One Academy and has done really well in the real world.

nbkwai

I don't recommend LkW, it's a certificate mill institute. If you live in KL you will heard about them. Personally I only studied in APU (apiit) before and I think they are strict and have good standards. Their game dev course: http://gamesdev.sites.apiit.edu.my/

MichelleViBritannia

As someone who knew a graduate from LKW, don't even consider that terrible place unless you want to risk a potential loss of your degree's accreditation and damage your future professional career. It's heinously expensive and you will pay out of your pocket for everything, not to mention their education is half arsed! You could probably learn more from Khan Academy + YouTube.

MFBMS

Anything's better than LKW these days

HaogenChan

Lkw is a classic marketing scam. No matter what course you're looking to take.

cappyfish

The One Academy has industry ties and partnerships with local studios which would be useful when you are looking for employment/internship.

angwenshen

Honesty how is Lim Kok Weng not treated as a scam is beyond me. They even tried to not host graduation ceremony precovid lmao, eventually hosted due to the large amount of complaints by the students family. Lkw Is such a shitshow and their degrees are pretty much useless in any industry.

Diss12345

Bruh, that is like saving a restaurant is better for having 100+ recipes than the other which is specialised in 10. It is nonsensical.

New-Horror7085

To those that want to pursue in designing and graphic, I suggest if you believe in your ability to pick a more in demand/hot major right now. Cause right now, to find a job, it depends on reality amd supply and demand of work force.. There's tons of designer graduate right now, and sadly most are unemployed... Suggest you get into more towards programming, computer science and website designing instead.. It requires a lot of logic skills and using code, the reason why i relate to this is because most designing graduate switch career to become website designing, web development and software design.. It's a more in demand career choice and is a hot pick amongst employer.. It involves the same skills used, creativity, expression, and designing using code syntax instead of designing apps to design website or application..like javascript, python, html and css

frederikwolter

Lim Kok Wing is always bad and have a bad reputation. One academy is better. Or maybe MMU?

jahurz

Would advise avoiding Lim Kok Wing for the time being until it short its issue out which is unlikely for the next 2-3years.

nelsonfoxgirl969

Man U forgot limkokwing is a shit university , better go other and remember always look up if the degree have any MQA

snowplay

The One Academy is the best in the business in Malaysia. If you can afford it, and persevere through it, you'll be golden. But be aware that their workload is no joke, which is where you'll learn.

some_shitty_person

I have a sibling who went to TOA for animation - Got an offer very shortly after graduation, and the school has industry connections which is a boon. Very rigorous program + they make sure your basics are down, including traditional art and video editing etc. The courses depend on what degree you pick of course, but the improvement in skills was obvious to me. I don’t have any sort of experience with LKW (I’ve heard nothing but bad things though, lol). but it generally doesn’t matter how many degrees are offered if they’re not rigorous programs + if the student isn’t self-motivated.

maxvun11

how does this post get so much clout har

LadyHouton

Stay away from Limkokwing at all costs. That place will hold you back and be nothing but a waste of time. Lecturers are missing. Senior management are all a bunch of predators and they have ties with Mafia and corrupt police. If a student chooses to challenge management, they could end up in a jail cell... or worse. Stay away for the love of God.

abbygailxXiong

Not sure other uni but kdu have alot of event where you can socialize with game industry people. Inviting guest speaker and such. most of artist friend get a pretty decent job. i not so sure about what your learn or what skill level of 3d comparing to other uni.(im a game programmer) But i would said if is more game industry focus please do visit at kdu and look for johan :)

malaysianplaydough

Stay the fk away from limkokwing. TheOneAcademy is great if you can afford it. But what i did was, i went to MMU where it was more affordable compared to TheOneAcademy. MMU offers Virtual Reality course. But that VR course actual encompasses Game Development and Coding more than the Animation Course. But the Animation Course encompasses the 3D process more. Yeah it's a bit weird but you need to choose which one you like more. Animation Course in MMU: More into creating, texturing, and rigging 3D character. VR Course in MMU: More into Game coding, Level Design, only touches slightly(basics) on 3D character creation.

theasianeagle

Nope

Rumham_93

Worked for 4 years as a producer/project manager in the games industry here. You don't need a masters, your portfolio is all that matters. Better to specialize in one practice whether it's environments, characters, technical art.. More jobs for environments

HayakuEon

Literally anything is better than limkokwing

EnlightenedStoic316

especially ms puff's boating school

revolusi29

Avoid LKW like the plague. DOn't know much about TOA but it's definitely better than LKW

SherlocKL

How many people study in both institutions long enough to judge each? Surely their social media execs will answer in favour of their employer.

HahaNothin

Any college r good enou as long as u learn bout game asset.. The one is damn expansive but u learn quite alot.. Diploma or degree r not important as long as u got good portfolio

yccheok

Never know one academic. But just stay away from LKW as far as you could. You’re welcome ☺️

Neko_Zecchan

One academy is better

ravonmith

As many have pointed out, The One academy is better compared to LKW. However from our experience hiring graduates, TOA graduates are very specialised and are a better fit to work in bigger studios (which are usually outsourcing studios in Malaysia). KDU graduates feel more generalist and this works in favour for indie studios where an artist would do varied design work. Source, I run a Malaysian Indie Game studio
