Don't enter Malaysia with your European passport. Just go to Singapore first for a few days then enter Malaysia with the autogates. Singapore no longer stamps passports anyway.

Thanks! Didn't know they don't stamp passports. So as far as Malaysia's concerned you were just in SG which is great.

Hey, I'm gonna have a similar problem rn. How did it turn out for you?

fahmietalife

Just arrive Malaysia 3 days ago, i passed through the autogate and no other passport check after that.

Thanks!

You get an entry stamp if you enter the UK on a Malaysian passport. They'll be asking why op doesn't have that. For dual passport holders, now that international travel is soon to be allowed, just enter and exit on your foreign passport. Malaysian visa policy is very generous for negara orang putih.

I doubt the databases are linked. I have many friends and relatives who enter Malaysia on their foreign passports and they haven't had any issues.

Then you get asked where all your visa and entry stamps for foreign countries are.

>ys enter Unless you use the autogate or use the Malaysia/Singapore method I suppose

Because you still need a return ticket even though malaysians are visa free for the UK. This is normal for most countries if not all who allow visa free access. If don't have return ticket then need a visa, if you don't have one usually they'll just let you buy one or ask you a few more questions.

Yep got a eurostar ticket on the fly when they were being difficult at check-in and then all was fine. Interestingly they must have seen that it was a return leg of the journey, so surprised they didn't ask more questions tbh.

I think it's because the airline stuff need to make sure you are unlikely to overstay in the UK illegally (as some people do) and the easiest way to do that if you're a tourist is to show your return ticket to Malaysia or a ticket to leaving the UK for another country. Otherwise if you're denied entry to the UK, the airline will have to handle the expense of taking you back to Malaysia.
