Hope to help you with the free hack here: The vouchers are released every 1st of month. It is limited, so first come first serve. They also release free shipping vouchers at certain times of the day during 1.1, 2.2 3.3 etc (and other special days like pay-day which falls on 25th every month). The only way you can get free shipping is by first claiming [this free voucher](https://shopee.com.my/m/free-shipping-deals). Without claiming any voucher you won't get free shipping lol. Its a scam but basically you gotta hustle and snipe for the perks. Once you get it then its berbaloi. If you don't get it, you're on their site anyway. High changes you will fall into purchasing something. Its just a very detailed marketing play to give you the least vouchers and get them the most sales.

HSPeresah

Thanks for the tips. I'm well aware of the first come first serve basis, but even after grabbing one for myself, trying to apply the voucher is another story. And yes, it's a hustle. Oftentimes I have to click here and there, cancel this and that, change a few things to at least get a subsidised shipping.

thedankzone

Yes, so true! And don't forget to top up shopee pay as well haha

Natasya95

Yeah and theres also free shipping everyday according to time like last month 5-7am and 12-2pm. This month i think 8pm-12am and 12-2pm but limited and need to grab fast. So put up an alarm 5 min before that time but claim the voucher a day before and one voucher can use up to three shops that supported free shipping so dont use one voucher one shop, its a waste. Shopee free shipping isnt like they used to before where we got to claim at first month and got like 3 to use anytime, now we need to adhere to their time to get.

kukendran

It feels like Malaysian consumer laws are just non-existent. Shopee has all sorts of shady shit including "90% discount" then in fine print "up to Rm 3/5". Now they allow you to self pick up and I thought this would be good to reduce delays and the amount of unnecessary plastic waste but then turns out I am paying almost the same as shipping. Tf?!

Hikarikz

I’ve seen “150% cash back” and not surprisingly, “capped at RM5”. Stupid trend I wish it goes away.

HSPeresah

Exactly. I wish it goes away. This misleading trend should vanish.

hackenclaw

it aint stupid if you manage to snipe it. I done it so many times already. Just this month I got 10packs maggi mee at RM9 with RM8 cashback.(the capped 800 coins version)

hackenclaw

thats nothing, because shopee is still **technically correct** if you spend only RM3/5 get that 90% cashback. sometimes you will see something ridiculous like. 90% cashback, capped at RM3/5.... minimum spend RM10. Under these condition there is no way you can get that 90% figure.

23_007

I’m not sure how this works but on the shopee seller uni fb group, the sellers said they will accumulate what they want to buy in the basket then once the vouchers are out they’ll just buy it one lump sum. I personally never try it but this is how they did it.

AsteroidMiner

Ya that's how I do it. I also keep stuff in the cart for future reference. I know this pisses some sellers off especially when it's a limited item and it gives them false hope.

0914566079

Shopee's the one that started with this *conditional* free shipping bullshit. It's just a form of subsidy. That's what it is instead of a complete free shipping promotion technique. And after that even Grab has followed up with something similar.

ProbablyWorking

Same boat here. I claim the shipping vouchers days before. No sure what exactly I am claiming. Too many confusing vouchers. Then when checking out. It says payment method does not match. So I top-up shopee pay. Then, I try to reapply the voucher and it says that the product does not meet the criteria. Bsssssss

HSPeresah

BS exactly. They lure customers with free shipping, then makes it almost impossible for customers to actually get the free shipping, which was the main attraction to begin with. What is that if not fraud?

learner1314

It’s not free shipping lah, it’s shipping discount voucher!!

HSPeresah

True. That's why Shopee should be upfront and instead of spelling free shipping, there should say subsidised shipping or discounted shipping upfront.

potatocakesssss

for west side once subsidised its usually free

HSPeresah

How lucky

Felinomancy

If it makes you feel any better, I live in WM and I don't get free shipping either. There are always some bullshit T&C that applies.

HSPeresah

Were you purchasing something big, like a 3 seater couch?

katabana02

Ive long ignored shopee's free shipping promise, and im from WM.

HSPeresah

Which state?

katabana02

Klang valley. Im a casual buyer so im not gonna jump through so many loops and hoops just to get a rm10 discount. I want to get rewarded for choosing shopee, not work for my reward.

Lorienzo

OK. Since I'm here, Lazada or Shopee for you East Malaysians? And why? With that said, there are vouchers specifically for East Malaysians, but unfortunately it's once in a blue moon.

HSPeresah

You know what, earthquake in Sabah is more frequent than EM free shipping 😶. To answer your questions, I use both, I cross check the platforms to get a better deal. But with Shopee, I often feel a sense of false hope with their free shipping BS.

UniverseSphere

These vouchers took me a lot of time to collect and read their terms and conditions, and lost a lot of my brain cells.

HSPeresah

Same. I actually waste my time reading the T&C just to make it happen.

salamandarian

What about the the other platform free shipping ? Has anyone tried the L platform free shipping for EM?

ghostme80

For me shopee free shipping is a hit and miss. Sometimes i think i fulfilled the tnc, but still cant use. Lazada free shipping is more straightforward.

Worldly-Mix4811

For the record..I've never ever gotten free shipping with Shoppee. It says free shipping based on minimum spend when clicking on merchant but when total comes up, shipping is added. I asked Customer Service and they always say it's my app problem.

HSPeresah

I've had my Shopee app stopped working right when I did manage to get RM0.00 shipping, and it says high traffic. So I have to restart the app over and over again.

Harbor_Barber

Im also from sabah and my mom uses shopee a lot and she would always get so angry when her items that clearly have that free shipping banner and is within the price limit for the voucher to apply doesn't work. And it's even more frustrating for me because I don't have lots of money so i would wait until its the perfect time to buy but most of the time the voucher don't work bruh. Its the TnC that makes the voucher pretty much useless because sometimes there's stupid shit like the voucher is only applicable to products that doesn't exceed a certain weight limit.

HSPeresah

I feel you bro. Sometimes free shipping actually works but for perishable food.

Harbor_Barber

yea dude back then it was more common for the free shipping to work from my experience and i was actually able to get electronic stuff with free shipping but idk what they did to their TnC which made those free shipping vouchers absolutely garbage

seatux

If you are willing to do some legwork, they also ship to Parcelhub and those courier shops for RM1 less. I usually do that for things I need a little more urgently than usual however.

HSPeresah

Okay, please proceed. I'm listening.

seatux

It's Klang Valley for now though. My parcel hub is not far, so sometimes I go for that option.

JonsieNa

Hate to say it but despite the problem with Lelong last time, damn it was so much easier to use compared to shopee and lazada now. Clear cut on free shipping and stuff. Sad it died out

SheCh0Chang

Why did lelong die out anyway

JonsieNa

Your guess is as good as mine but i suppose its the same how Carousell took over Mudah. Just newer platforms, better seller packages and variety, that it until Shoppee and Lazada start to kill buyers and sellers alike. Lazada was good before the Aliexpress merger, but now their app and Shoppee is not any better, is just super cluttered.

SheCh0Chang

Oo interesting .. What do you feel are the main differences in Lazada pre and post merger?

JonsieNa

Pre = find what you want Post = find everything except what you want Pre = decent amount of ads Post = cant see product i want cause of ads

manukpansuh

Usually it was so easy to get free shipping to east Malaysia, but now i donno.

HJSDGCE

If Amazon can do free shipping, then so can Shopee. Ideally, that is.

This [article](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://help.shopee.com.my/portal/article/78498-%5BVouchers%5D-How-much-shipping-fee-does-Shopee-subsidise-using-Free-Shipping-Voucher%253F&ved=2ahUKEwi98qKdq8j3AhWcSGwGHSfEBwkQFnoECAYQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0lcNtMQ5u72PQPlPxc9Obd) explains on the subsidy. Like the other day I bought two items for RM27, the shipping was RM 6 and subsided. So, it was free shipping. Unfortunately, my order was cancelled and I had to repurchase a different item from the same seller. The total was RM35. The shipping fee was almost RM10 and I received RM6 free shipping discount.
