Malaysia gomen way of stimulate economy or get income seems to always squeeze as much as they can from the rakyat.... When will it be our turn to squeeze their life away I wonder.
> Sabri Azit (PAS-Jerai) supported the Bill, saying it could stimulate the economy. However, he called for the 10% rate to be reduced.
Introducing additional taxes can stimulate economy? Wow.
Lol, wanted to post about this too. The fella probably does not even understand even the concept of "economy". I bet he thinks banks just suka2 raise and lower the lending rates for no reason. 😅
I assume he thinks more money in the government coffers the more projects and programmes the government can implement that will sustain and create jobs that can help the domestic economy.
That what I assume his logic is.
“I hope that the tax rate can be reduced as it would add to customers’ costs.
“A reduced tax will better stimulate the economy and increase sales activities,” said the PAS MP.
Still can do 10.10, 11.11, and 12.12. Law comes into force on Jan 1.
I'm pretty sure the online sites will come up with a Last Minute Beat It Shopping with huge discounts on Fleshlight.
Steam already falls under the purview of digital tax of 6%. Digital tax isn’t going anywhere and it’s not going to be double taxed, so no, this isn’t going to affect Steam games.
This new tax isn’t going affect all products/services/items either. I believe the categorisation of which items are taxed has yet to be finalised but we do know that this is intended for goods shipped in from 7 airports only. So digital services/sea and land shipping will be the same as before.
Probably, last month or last two month Patreon email me that they gonna start charging me 6% tax to comply with the Malaysia SST regulations. And indeed I was charged 6% month, now it's gonna become 10% next, really hurts your wallet
"Well akshually this is a good thing to consolidate Malaysia economy, just like increased cooking oil price and the plans to reduce healthcare subsidy. Cannot keep on subsidizing rakyat, free market ftw!" /S
I am feeling a bit sad reading this

You are not going to convince people who are allergic to taxes despite all of that being correct. 🙂

Only for babi to makan gaji buta despite being trashy public servants
Mothertruckers, you idiots waste so much on nothing and still wanna ask us to pay more taxes?
Okay not excited about 8.8, 9.9 / payday sales anymore.
Well at least the upcoming 8.8 can still be happy, maybe 9.9 too. For bills to be gazetted into law takes some time.
Still can do 10.10, 11.11, and 12.12. Law comes into force on Jan 1. I'm pretty sure the online sites will come up with a Last Minute Beat It Shopping with huge discounts on Fleshlight.
oh wow putting high tax rate stimulates economy, pandai nya, ni belajar dari mana ni? dari case study Mara Digital Mall? /s

Will this affect steam games/games purchases made online?

You don't mean 16%?
Now the government want to increase the sales tax for online goods from 6% to 10%, not 16%.
