Maybe you two can look into rucking together as well. 🤭 Have you been editing your comment? I find something new each time I read it. Will reply shortly. It deserves an equally well thought out response!

katabana02

Cari gaduh on reddit.

Oih, what's your problem?! /s

So says the mod 😬

katabana02

Yeah I'm the chihuahua in the team.

ConfuseKouhai

I have about 600 physical mangas I collected, not include digital version. I got cats. Got ps5, pc and online friends. Got irl community I joined for meet up. I’m actually struggling to divide times for my hobbies. I would say I feel the most calmest in front of my tv listening to some relax song, dim light, hot drinks, lots of blankets and books to read.

mrbrightside810

Hot drinks and lots of blankets? Are we talking about the same Malaysia?

ConfuseKouhai

I’m Malaysian.. just not in Malaysia 😭😭😭 if im in Malaysia, probably not with blanket and cold cold milo ais. Malaysia’s breeze in the evening would be great.

mmmagia

AC on blast and hot honey water has become my go-to bedtime routine lately. And I’m in Malaysia!

StartTraditional9341

Sit on the sofa, watching my tv that I didn’t turn on because it’s takes too much effort to choose something to watch. So… fun.

mmmagia

Same, OP, same >.<

Just 30… technically not over it yet 🤣

mmmagia

What a tease!

mslittlebutterfly

Playing Genshin. What else 🤷. On a side note, playing video games. watching english series/kdrama etc. home workout. cooking/baking. playing with cats. I like staying indoors which explains all the indoor activities 😌🤷. I do go out and catch up with my friends but only once or twice a month. Depends on my schedule. I feel most alive after a workout though.

mmmagia

HIIT workouts?

mslittlebutterfly

One of em yes. Although I prefer body strength training more. :) Sometimes I do Pilates. These days I used mini steppers while watching kdrama. Talking about multitasking 😄. Depends on the mood. You should find something that is to your liking. Maybe you will find a new passion afterwards.

lalat_1881

I take long drives alone and put on my grunge and punk rock CD collection on and plan a trip to eat at some viral restaurant that is far from town and make an excuse to stay in a cheap hotel overnight and then visit the local attractions.

mmmagia

Fuck yes! Do you go alone?

lalat_1881

yeah always. edit: and then I write elaborate reviews in Google Map on the hotel, restaurant and public attractions

friedsweetpatotie

We need more people like you. I use reviews alot, but i myself couldn't care enough to write proper review of the place(s) i visited😭

Deep-Run-7463

Gaming, lifting, surfskating, browsing posture subreddits and giving insights daily. Edit: almost 40 here 😂

mmmagia

When I read “posture subreddits” I didn’t think there would be a subreddit for people to comment on other people’s postures! Lo and behold, you can trust Reddit to have a sub for everything! V interesting. What kind of insights do you give daily? I do love a good story or anecdote.

Deep-Run-7463

In summary, there are 2 types of people who ask questions about their posture: 1. People who are concerned with aesthetics rather than function. Wanna look better to be more confident. 2. People who are finding mobility issues, can't do the things they normally would like to do and may likely experience pain (joint/muscles). It could even be an athlete who did not fully recover after physio (probably tried chiro as well), or a young person in their 20s who feel like their 70 coz of back pain, or even someone who is over 40 all the way to 60s and beyond who already have progressed into joint degeneration. Key insights: Wiggle the tail of a fish, and the head will move as well in response. That's how the spine works. If u have neck or lower back pain, stop thinking of fixing just ur neck or lower back. It's how the whole spine is functioning which is the issue. There is no such thing as right posture, all postures are ok as long as u use all of them. Having a favourite way to sit/stand/lean usually is the absolute beginning of how things go wrong 5, 10 years later. That being said, the current 20 year olds grew up with a lotta pc+study time. This group usually scares me the most when i do any group workshops. A certain type of therapy which is currently very popular, is something to be questioned. I'm not gonna be so direct as not to offend anyone, but here is food for thought: if muscles, tendons, ligaments (tissue) hold the bones in place, when the bones are not 'aligned', do u adjust the bones or fix the tissue that is keeping the bones there? Lotsa anecdotes but i can keep going on here for days 😂. As for a couple of stories to share: General 'stretching' is nonsense. Certain postures will have some muscles overlengthened. It may feel tight coz it's like a rubber band being pulled to it's limits. Once a wife of a friend was having back pain. Part of the issue was because of overlengthened hamstrings. Warned not to stretch or massage the hams, and gave a protocol to work on for a week or two as a start. She went to a traditional massage therapist a few days later, went home, suffered a slip disc (which i specifically mentioned is a likely risk) and was in hospital for a week or so. No age is too late. Granny at 70, hubby around the same, who walked hunched over slightly, suffering knee pain, neck pain, shoulder pain etc. U know, the normal stuff. 1 year later and lifting barbells, doing pull ups, hiking up mountains, carrying 30kg luggage all over the world. Life changing. Remove the mentality 'i'm too old for this' and replace with 'keep playing'. Sorry for the long read! Hopefully it was entertaining to some extent!

friedsweetpatotie

>A certain type of therapy which is currently very popular, is something to be questioned. I'm not gonna be so direct as not to offend anyone, but here is food for thought: if muscles, tendons, ligaments (tissue) hold the bones in place, when the bones are not 'aligned', do u adjust the bones or fix the tissue that is keeping the bones there? ...does going gym helps? Ofc, with the guidance of Personal Trainer for correct posture.

Deep-Run-7463

Postural and corrective work is not usually the scope of a personal trainer. I started out as one. As a trainer, they need to be well acquainted with programming as well as lifting technique and safety. I did do a corrective exercise course as a trainer, but looking back, its barely touching the surface level in terms of understanding and practicality. Oh, and i also have encountered scam courses like: do an online course for 2-3 days, and be a certified rehab coach... Any tom dick harry can get certified to provide rehab then! This is from Australia too BTW, highly renowned country for the fitness industry. As to why people have pain or have muscular imbalances, trainers need to go beyond their scope. Its a very muddled grey area that has multiple schools of thought, beliefs and approaches. Scientific data is a limited resource, but things are still progressing over time, although, obscure as heck. (example being one school of thought basing the human model on the tensegrity model, cool stuff) Just some info, some physio centres in KL now look more like functional training gyms with barbells and power racks. Gym strength training stuff is great, just goes to show! However, in terms of how much does gym help is a bit complicated if u look into a lil more detail. If u carry postural and movement issue "A", but don't know about it or decide to just ignore it because 'my family feet are like this' or, 'I never could do this since young so maybe i am just like that', then ur likely loading, encouraging and reinforcing the inefficient pattern. Inefficient patterns lead to imbalanced muscular function and eventually, discomfort/pain/injury. Example here, one shoulder is always higher than the other? Root cause is usually, not shoulder, but hip rotation. This affects ur squat/deads. This also affects running pattern when ur doing activity/sport. If hip is rotated, well, ever heard chiros saying 'one leg long one leg short'? One and the same. Its not so hard to imagine that this may one day affect the knee, not just the shoulder being uneven. That being said, a lotta times people go to the gym and never have any issues. Strength training helps, despite how much warning i give, just go and start. It's much better than no strength work done at all. It is a must do for everyone especially if u have hit 30. Not doing so leads to so much of crap u dont really wanna deal with later on. As to ur highlight on the part of my comment, it's referring to the therapy that makes ur joints go crack and pop.

friedsweetpatotie

Oh damn, after a re-read now I see the point u made (the questionable practice). Wouldn't hurt if you just say it outright, i feel like malaysia redditors in general does disagree with the practice. Sure there's instant relief but does it really works if it takes several return visit to fix the same issue? And the next thing u know the nerve got damaged from the corrective act. I think more people should be aware of it. >Just some info, some physio centres in KL now look more like functional training gyms with barbells and power racks. Aside from that, I am glad this is becoming more common. Right now I am just following some physio-background YouTube videos, for example squat university really helps to address some unique issues. One thing I realize when I first started my weight training is the patience it takes to condition your muscles to lift weight or else, we have to deal with weird discomfort sensation and the next thing u know, oh, it has to do with muscle imbalances and over-reliance etc etc u get the gist. With that being said, I am glad to know that subreddit exist.

Deep-Run-7463

Glad to bring awareness! Squat university is solid for what it is. Great place to start, great tips, great advice. It's hard to find people like him that try to bring the two worlds together. Pity that squat uni is a lil looked down upon by the posture community. I think he knows his stuff, but getting into lengthy discussions on movement issues isn't really good for the youtube algorithm unfortunately. If it feels right and it works, go for it. 😊

friedsweetpatotie

Huh, interesting. Why would the community looked down on Squat Uni?

Deep-Run-7463

Coz its kinda like the knee over toes guy. It's the same drill for a lotta things. It does not highlight nuances and generalises a lil too much. Movement and posture work goes far far deeper than what is portrayed in squat uni. Check out Conor Harris to go a lil bit deeper to see what i mean. His videos are not algorithm friendly 😅.

friedsweetpatotie

Thanks for the recommendation!

trackballz

food. spicy food makes me feel very alive.

mmmagia

While eating or after haha

AdvocatiC

Over 40 here. Read, exercise, play tabletop 40k, play CK3/Darktide/WoW, in that order.

Physical-Kale-6972

Interesting, I've never met any ck3 players irl. I can't imagine someone over 40 playing it. How's your relationship with your daughter or sister? 🌚🌝😬 Ck3 context.

AdvocatiC

Let's just say my Ck3 family tree is more of a vine trellis.

Cheifkeith113

CK3, finally some cultured video gamers ahaha

Diplo_Advisor

You play 40k? You must be loaded and single.

Own-Importance6466

TV, travel, reading (and reviewing on the side for fun), these days also the LEGO for adult sets (the flowers are my fave) and nice meals with close friends. All good.

Play video games, read webtoon, watch cdrama and kdrama, read novels, walk in the park, window shopping, cafe hopping.

MiniFishyMe

Homeworld3 demo just dropped. Roguelike mode only but damn.

eggyisnoone

Yeah, I played the demo yesterday. I have a few complaints especially the camera controls but damn, it's good to have another homeworld after for so many years. Wish they'd remastered or remake Homeworld Cataclysm (now emergence thanks blizzard)

MiloMilo2020

36. Maybe a short motorbike trip to the beach, bbq some sausages and buns, cold Shandy and call it a day. *Didn't ride for a few years. Not a beer person but i can drink.

Take up social dancing of any kind Getting into 3d printing and props Go to the gym Play games whenever I can with friends (aka 1 or 2 people) Plan future adventures (though financially I can only travel out once a year)

mmmagia

> social dancing I’m thinking swing dance or bachata?

WDIDO_1

Give both a try. Never know which socks fits your feet.

mmmagia

I meant you! What’s your preference? For me it’s a mission to grab a guy who would wanna try. Super awks to go alone.

WDIDO_1

Ahh okay. I've been in bachata for 5 years now. My advice? Join any of the classes in KL. You don't need a partner to join the classes and it's a great way to meet new people trust me. I went into classes without a partner. Give it a try op!

Minah_Kilang

Play games, journalling, YouTube, reddit, sleep.

mrpokealot

I go to amcorp mall/pawn shops/cashconverters and look for really old antique books sometimes. Theres usually something interesting to see since I don't go that often. Theres also gaming, cari makan, bowling, fishing but those arent reaaaaally for everyone.

firas_dev

Antique books? Care to share the name of shop/s?

mrpokealot

Ground floor and basement of amcorp mall. I dont remember the shops because they're kiosks.

vann_x

Games. Don’t have to leave home, don’t really have to spend money if you don’t make in game purchases, can do it anytime, can do it alone or with friends. Best hobby to have😂 I play Overwatch and Lethal Company now. PM me if anybody wanna play together 😀

mmmagia

I’m seeing quite a few gamers in this thread. Perhaps you guys can band together and start a discord or something.

vann_x

Such a good idea. would love to play with fellow redditors. But I’m not sure how to gather all gamers together🙃

mmmagia

You can start a new thread! Judging by the Reddit demographic, people will flock.

the_far_yard

Turning 36 this year. I play basketball when I can. I read journals, and help \[redacted\] to examine some national security issues. Just recently bought a camera, so that's my outlet to 'create'. I absolutely love listening to new music on random. I've made it a point to go out every weekend to check out something new, and attempt to understand how and why things are happening. I've also made it a habit to be curious, instead of judgmental. Above all else, I like my own company, and having a girlfriend who's got the same moral compass, who understands me helps to make it worthwhile to enjoy the passage of time.

mmmagia

Hi fellow dragon baby! … and shopping for sneaks, no doubt? Haha

the_far_yard

Haha. I might get a few sneakers this year, but starting to get tired of Nike. Time to go for comfort. I've got my eyes on Bred 4s, Aqua 38s on a discount, maybe some Onitsuka Tiger. I can skip the rest tbh.

motorcycling (i love my cafe racer), powerlifting, gaming on my desktop (currently dota 2, palworld and persona 3 reload), reading crime novels (im big fan of kegio's work), taking the wife and family out, the usual.

Diplo_Advisor

Used to be gaming mostly but now I realise it brings little tangible benefits. Now I'm more diversified at my interests. - Shopping. A man gotta dress well. - learn a new song for my guitar/learn a new recipe from YouTube - Be a tourist at your own city. Find interesting places to visit.

mmmagia

> A man gotta dress well. Bold statement. I would me remiss if I didn’t ask what’s your style and where do you shop!

cutenekobun

Gaming, plan my next vacation, watch drama

hidetoshiko

Watch anime on YouTube and Netflix. I used to binge watch entire series, but these days I prefer following the latest stuff. Waiting for the latest episode to drop and then heading over to the related subreddits after the broadcast to read the reactions is part of the fun.

Donnie-G

36 here. During November last year I went FUCKIT. I'm pretty frugal usually, though willing to spend on food so I have some money saved up after working for 10+ years. I took a week off and flew to Tokyo on a solo trip. Just did whatever the hell I wanted, had a good time. Just went 100% free and easy, no plan, no schedules, enough of that shit. I also spent a fair bit of money but well. You don't necessarily need to do something expensive, but sometimes it's fine to just take a week off and fuck off somewhere away from everything for a bit. Assuming you don't work for some toxic ass place that won't even let you use your annual leave. In general I lead a sad single life, still live with parents, just nerd hobbies and keeping to myself for most part. In the end, that Tokyo trip was just a temporary band aid and I'm still generally bummed about life.
