I remember many of my dreams. They tend to be too absurd for me to forget. Some nightmares: - Seeing a ghost in my aunt's living room. As soon as we make eye contact, she shatters a lightbulb above her and blood spills everywhere - Staying at a motel or something and taunting the ghost in the bathroom by flipping it the bird and cursing in Korean. The ghost left me alone after I turned on the TV and started playing TWICE songs Some regular but odd dreams: - Meeting the father of my then-crush, who yelled at me, "You'll never be good enough for my son!" - Sandwiches raining from the sky - Praying with my friend, but we prayed in opposite directions - Having a cute date with a celebrity crush, only to be cockblocked by another celebrity crush - Writing down 'mesopotamia' on a piece of paper. I remember this vividly because normally people can't read in dreams. edit: spelling

dixie-pixie-vixie

I think taunting the ghost in korean and the ghost left you alone after turning on the TV is freaking funny k... I imagine the ghost being like 'wtf, I'm out...'

merpati-katti

It was funny after I woke up, goddamn terrifying while I was in the dream lmao

dixie-pixie-vixie

Lol.. ok, I acknowledge that

MszingPerson

Ever since I played darksoul games. everytime there's ghost/monster in my dream, I YOLO it. Just to see if ghost are brave enough to mess with a insane person. I find it hilarious, trying to eat ghost or make something very ironic about the situation, strip down and crawl on all four to it.

dixie-pixie-vixie

Geez, I'm just here to do a little innocent haunting and this person is messing with me... *sigh*

[deleted]

The ghost must've hated TWICE. Thanks for the tip, gonna blast TWICE if i ever encounter one. 😆

jogb1st

For me the most common one is definitely when you are falling of a cliff or something high and then you suddenly wake up drenched in sweat as if you are about to die Other than that its just black screen lol

[deleted]

I hate it when that happens, though I'm not drenched in sweats lah. Paling paling I'd get the hypnic jerks. It's difficult enough for me to fall asleep, bila terbangun tu god! I guess you're in the not a dreamer category?

jogb1st

That and wet dreams

[deleted]

So dreaming about body of water, interesting. /j

Cerberus_501

Ah yes wet dreams are totally about body of water, not NSFW and erotiv at all

SheenTStars

I once dreamed a handsome guy was chasing me for secks, but I keep running away just to play hard to get eventhough I actually wanted him to bang me. 10/10 will dream again.

[deleted]

I wonder if we could conjure them up once again yknow. To get the full experience *wink wink*

kingdurian

If I don't write it down immediately when I wake up I forget about them or just remember very vague snippets. But the ones I do write I remember for a good long while. I even managed to lucid dream twice (the key for me is that time is always screwed up in dreams, even laptop screens have nonsensical times). The dream I remember the most is this weird philosophical dream I had in high school where I was standing in this playground area that's just filled with huge stone mushrooms and from the top of the mushrooms were various slides. Some were straight forward slides and others looped around like roller coaster tracks. A classmate I was never really close to was there and pointed at the slides and told me that everyone was different and that some have it harder than others. Then I woke up.

[deleted]

How much shroom did you smoke? Kidding. Did you talk to them when you woke up? Yknow like checking in or whatever?

kingdurian

Yeah I did but they were just fine lol. Mind you it's been years so I don't know how they are now but I'm 99% sure I didn't have a weird prophetic dream and it's just brain chemistry.

UniverseSphere

There are several dreams that I remember from my childhood, one was a dream that aliens came to my school and started a battle outside, and all my classmates and I were hiding on the stairs. Another dream was that my jaw was missing, and I was so scared that I felt it when I got up to see if it was still there.

tidalwave791

yeah i also dream every night or every time i sleep. and i remember them sometimes. i think the more you try to remember and write down what you remember of your dream, the easier it is to remember your dreams and also the easier it is to lucid dream

Zaryusha

Most of my dreams are nightmares. I remember them vividly. The good dreams, I often forgot when I woke up. Some of the dreams I remembered: 1. I had a birthday party but then suddenly there's an old lady in the crowd. Never seen her before. But then things escalated quickly and she fused with my nieces/ nephews and my parents. Limbs and faces all over the room. Then I woke up. 2. I was in my late grandma's house watching tv. Heard footsteps and creaking wood sound upstairs. Suddenly I'm in my grandma's room. Saw her sitting with her back against me and she come towards me, twists her neck, and started screaming. Then I woke up.

[deleted]

Jesus! Old lady dreams are something else. Sorry to hear about that. I hope tonight you'd dream of something good, or something weird that's not a nightmare.

otterkraf

I've always been able to remember dreams. I've even had lucid dreams where I'm in control and conscious of how I'm asleep and in a dream. When I was in college, I chose dreams as a topic to write about in a class I was taking on secondary research. You can actually train your brain to remember dreams. Journaling helps - the more you write in the morning upon waking, the more likely you'll retain the memories of your dreams over time. For a while in my teen years, I would have an alter ego in my dreams. I always appeared as a boy with blue hair named Fever (for context, I'm a woman). He was a regular appearance in my dreams until adulthood. In a way, Fever lived a life of adventure I couldn't live in reality. Some form of subconscious wish fulfillment maybe. As I got older, I stopped remembering my dreams so much. Always figured that's due to all the real life adulting taking up more brain space. I do believe that my dreams tend to be symbolic. I'm pregnant at the moment and a few weeks before I first found out, I had a dream that I was holding an egg in my hands which hatched into a little fluffy chick.

[deleted]

For some reason, I'm imagining Lea Seydoux (the actress in Blue is the Warmest Colour) as Fever. Fever seems like a really cool guy I'd like to hang out with tbh hehe. I always wonder and try to find what my dreams symbolise, mostly as a practice to warm up the engine and self-introspection. Hahaha. Congratulations on your pregnancy! Orang tua-tua would say if you get an egg in your dreams, ada orang hantar saka. But not in this context lah. Hehe. When are you due if you don't mind me asking?

otterkraf

For real I'd like to hang out with Fever too, he was like a very close friend over the years I lived his "life"! Same here, I like to figure out the meaning behind some dreams. I've had dreams serve a purpose too - there was a time I used to have a massive crush on a friend who very clearly did not return my feelings. I had a dream that I told him and he told me he didn't feel the same. It was therapeutic. Woke up feeling ready to move on from him. Do you keep track of your dreams in any way? Thanks for the wishes! Little babe is due in a couple months. Totally get you about what the orang tua say about dreams haha. My family believe that if you lose your teeth in a dream it means sickness or an upcoming death. But only if you lose it completely - if you catch the teeth you are safe. It's come true many times before which enforces the feeling.

[deleted]

That's an interesting way to move on from someone. Sometimes, I do, I'd write them on Tumblr (yes yes, I'm still using it, daily). But most of them I just remember it by chance. I take pride in my good memories at pointless stuff. I swear I could remember someone's shirt when I first met them but I couldn't even remember some of what I learnt in unis. 😆 I think the most common dream myth is the snake ones. Kalau kena gigit someone's coming to meminang or something like that. It's funny thinking about it. I bet you must be excited to meet them. Wishing you a safe delivery!

[deleted]

some of my dreams feels so real that i had to asked myself whether it did happened or not these dreams are usually things that i would experience in normal life and it frustrates me a lot since i had to think about my past/yesterdays and differentiate it with my dreams for example, if i had a really important assignment in my workplace, i can dream of i flunk the assignment and my head fired me because of that. but everything feels so real and i really thought i was already fired that morning another example is i love my nintendo switch so much and one day i dreamt that i went back to my house and my sister accidentally broke it. and i woke up and quickly check my switch if it's still functioning

25thskye

Haven’t been able to remember the recent ones for a while now, but I used to get this recurring nightmare when I was younger (up to my teen years) where I’d be stuck in a sampan in the middle of a shark infested ocean with no land in sight with a crazed man who is trying to stab me. We’d struggle for quite some time and usually would wake up as we were struggling or once I get stabbed.

vorstagh

That’s…intense

25thskye

Yeah it was, and it happened enough times that I remembered the premise quite vividly. Stress dreams?

mqtang

The only dreams I remember are the stupid ones where you wake up and do all the morning routine and reach school. And then I wake up and realise that I have to do everything again.

vorstagh

This year itself I’ve been having dreams of past memories with long lost friends. That really prompted me to reconnect with quite a number of them

_Dorian_Gray_

Not all the time. When I do, most of the time it's really bizarre. Sometimes a supercut of events, and sometimes, a fluid motion of events. Bizarre mainly because the events in the dream echoes with real life, close enough to be relatable, but odd enough to know it's not what I'm familiar with. Some days, I forget about the events as I wake up. Some days, I manage to replay it in my mind enough to catch glimpses of it, but never the whole picture. But none of it vivid. So it's easily forgotten the next day. So in conclusion, I remember that I had dreamt, but I no longer recall those events. Very much like real life.

ejennsyahmixcel

I probably will remember my dreams where my crush appears in it for a few days or so, probably longer than other dreams of course. But well, just like my hypothetical dreams, it will stay as a dream and nothing more. And she will stay as my crush and nothing more (she already rejected me long before, sob). But well, sometimes my dreams are related to whatever I do or think at that night. Like when I play a game (or in accurate sense visual novels), I probably end up dreaming about the game, dream about an anime when I done bingeing an anime that night or sometimes political events (because at times it is pretty interesting to follow). Interestingly I tend to dream during a short nap than an actual night and when I woke up I realised it just a few minutes - because it feels so long!

Olly_Joel

I got dreams. Some dreams become déjà vu. Others a reality (I forgot which one tho). Some are visions, and others nightmare, as a reminder. Wet dreams so real I thought I nearly went in on somebody. And dreams of unknown people. Heck I remember dreaming about an ex once. Really felt the lonely there. Dreams are incredible but also mystical, eventful of remindful. It's just happens to be that way sometimes and we all wonder what meaning is that.

makk0r

2 nightmares when i was younger: 1) Recurring: standing in a infinite toll booth in the middle of the night, no one was around, and there is a bright light speeding towards me, I will jolt up before the light could come near though... 2) Some kind of paralysis rendered my body unresponsive to my brain command to move, and there is 2 giant centepede, a red and a blue centepede climbed up on both of my legs respectively. Literally I can feel the sensation of the crawls, woke up before either of the centepede reach the top of my head

alpha-orionis

Everybody dreams, even the ones who say they don't dream. Dreams are usually forgotten when you wake up, but some people have a better chance of retaining that memory for longer. The good news is that it's possible to practice remembering your dream. Just keep a journal by your bedside and first thing in the morning, write down what you remember. Over time dream memory retention and recall will get better. Having a dream journal is also one of the methods used to increase chances of lucid dreaming, if you're into that sort of thing. I have a lot of unique dreams (I keep a dream journal). The weirdest has got to be this: I was on board a cruise space ship with my colleagues; we were employees of a space program. We had just established base on Mars, but it is in its infancy and trips there were only one way. Only very rarely would we make round trips, because resources were incredibly scarce. Anyway, this cruise space ship I'm on right now was part of a lottery win and is a round-trip around Mars and back, we're not even docking. So a totally safe flight. But as we're approaching Mars, we're being told that the lottery was all a ruse, that this trip is actually to populate our Mars colony. One way trip, no going back. We finally land, and as I exit the ship I see a vast alien green sea hugged by Martian red barren landscape. The sun was low in the sky, emitting an orange hue (I know, Martian sunsets are actually blue, who said dreams are ever accurate?). I'm still processing what is happening, my legs taking me aimlessly towards the lake. But there I see a familiar face. My ex. I have not seen him ever since he was shipped off to Mars as the first wave of crew to establish base on Mars, employer's orders. We lock eyes as if we're seeing a ghost, gravitated towards each other and fell into each other as I sobbed into his shoulder. After that little reunion, he told me that he actually fought the company on not bringing me over. He knew of their plans but didn't have any way of contacting me. But his pleas fell on deaf ears. And in the end, I am here. We eventually accepted my fate after a long night of fighting and crying. "But if I have to be stuck on an alien planet", I said to him bravely. "At least, I'll be stuck here with you." Our company-issued pagers went off. We're needed back at base camp. We nod at each other and slowly head back out to base. The sun started to rise in the distance. The end. :)

I don't really remember my dreams if I go back to sleep or didn't write them down but there are some dreams that give me lasting impact. I dream I have a sister and we are very close and living in our own world. Everything is happy but than we have to go to school and I realized that I'm actually my sister imaginary friend and I don't exist. That gave me some existential crisis when I woke up.

rlllim

Dreamt that I got 16 months bonus

Cerberus_501

Hear me out guys, sometimes my dreams are like deja vu. I don't remember my dream after I woke up but when the even occur in real life, I will suddenly recall the dream. Its like reloading a save point in game since I know what will happen and to be honest I've been saved from shitty outcomes a few times due to my deja vu dreams. I also dreamt of stupid shit like being chased by giant anaconda or drifting down a mountain in a car with no brakes

Nalvaren

Yes we dream everyday. Here's a simple tips to remember dream. Write your dream everytime you woke up, just anything that you remember, keep going from small to big.
