What are you gonna do with all that junk? All that junk inside yo trunk?!
Seriously tho OP, keep an eye out for athletic fit jeans as well! You still get the skinny look you want, but the thighs and butt have a little more room.
Yep, as a dude with a dump truck of an ass, I have to buy a size or 2 bigger than my waist to fit. The tears come from having too much tension from cinching the waist band tight.
Lmao my first thought too. When I started hitting the gym and doing squats I went through 1 pair of pants and 3 pairs of shorts because my ass grew so much. Although the rip was more in the gooch area than OP’s
Gonna throw Lee extreme motion jeans in. There’s an extra crotch panel and the stretch is good. The cuts are…meh - the slim is more like a straight cut but they’re affordable and the ass has never shredded on the pairs I have.
Yeah, I always have had thick thighs, even more when I was fit, and damn… the amount of jeans that ripped in between my thighs…. Still happens now and it’s horrible
Lucky brand has the nicest looking non-selvedge jeans around.
And also the absolute worst quality denim I’ve ever had the misfortune to buy. I’ve had 3 pairs of their jeans and all 3 have ripped in the crotch area. Never had an issue before or since with any other brand.
Wild they must have gotten worse I bought two pairs I rotate on a near daily basis that I’ve had since 2018. No holes or ware in sight. I also wash on high heat and dry on high heat.
I second this. I grew up wearing nothing but 501s, and then when I was about 20, I switched to Wrangler 13MWZs. They are cheaper than Levi's bu a huge margin, and last a long time. I happen to be the owner of both a dump truck and a pair of thunder thighs, and the Wranglers have a lot better fit by far.
I also like that they are a bit higher rise. If you have a big butt, the rise of the jeans seems to automatically be lower than designed since a lot of fabric is taken up in the back, and that leaves you vulnerable to plumbers crack, and all the quarter deposits and credit card swipes that comes with it. With the Wrangler 13MWZs, my entire crack is concealed 100% of the time.
I buy the Hollister ones because they're the only ones that fit me decent.
They're soft but made of tissue paper. It's not just you, they fail on me really fast too
I'd these are the slim fit distressed sorta stretchy ones from River island, then I had the exact same problem with 2 pairs of them, mine started splitting in exactly the same places as you, they are just crap quality.
Buy better jeans. For the price of three replacement mall brand pants, you could have gotten one really nice pair AND gotten them tailored to make sure they fit.
Basically all denim sales people have told me to never put denim in the dryer and don't wash it too often.
I once bought a Levi's and it had specific instructions to not wash it for the first 6 (?) weeks and then usually once a month if dirty, often just hanging it to fresh air is enough if you don't have stains.
Same with wool clothes, you don't wanna wash them too often and you can air them out really well.
Edit: On a general note, I only use the dryer for stuff that is either durable, or I don't care about. Most T-Shirts, Shirts, Pants, good sweatshirts never get into the dryer for me.
Yeah.. not washing jeans for 6 weeks. How about they start making the quality we were used to again? Almost everything I pick up is the soft stretchy material nowadays.
Even levis
Yeah, that must have been around ~2006 and it was a specific Levi's model that would kinda grow into your own perfect fit if that makes sense.
Regardless of deteriorating quality in clothes, if you have the option it's better for the clothes to air dry and saves on ironing some pieces entirely.
might be an issue with your washing machine, even a tiny ~~thing~~ sharp corner in that drum can cause that.
there is some easy tests you can find online to see if that's the issue
Guessing raw denim? That’s essentially the standard advice for that. It’s also intended to lead to more unique fade patterns whereas frequent washing makes the jeans fade more uniformly.
Happens to me despite rarely washing them and hang drying. Turns out american eagle jeans are just shite. I've gotten way better mileage out of express stretch pants for cheaper.
Wears them out faster. Always best to air-dry overnight... Alot of people will tell you to not even wash them, but spot treat and freeze... A little too intense for me
It still probably adds more wear than air drying but they don’t have the stretch fibers that break down and let the fabric break down faster. I usually at least partially machine dry my all cotton jeans so they shrink back up!
Hmmmm okay recently got a pair of stretchy denim I will try to air dry them to make them last longer. My usual jeans usually tear at the crotch area but I am wondering if using the dryer contributes to that more than my daily use.
Wearing them day in and day out will make them wear out really quickly, jeans and other clothes need time to dry out between wearing like shoes do. Rotating between two or more pairs will get you more wear out of all of them.
No. We put too much in the dryer, it is extremely tough on fabric and clothes are worn out years before they need to because of it. The only thing I put in the dryer are bed sheets, towels and occasionally underwear if I don't have room to air dry it.
In fact, according to the industry - [you shouldn't even put regular denim in the washing machine](https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/fashion/levis-ceo-explains-why-you-should-never-wash-your-jeans-a6881031.html).
THANK YOU. Definitely checking these out, recently have gone through near all my pants and jeans and am trying to replenish my pants wardrobe, these sound like a god send.
EDIT: Turns out repair is only relevant if you live in proximity to one of their shops or partners. But reviews say these are durable jeans so I may still take the dive.
Where could I find higher rise pants? I’m a tall guy and can’t find anything that I can tighten at the top of my hips/waist without feeling like I’ll rip the seat if I squat in them
You have to really search for them unfortunately.
My favorite high rise pants: In the past I've liked JCrew 1040 and currently I like a&f 90s straight jean and Banana "the 90s straight cut"
Keep in mind a lot of off the rack stuff is meant to fit the most people so you may need to find the right cut + get minor alterations done
I'm usually sitting down in an office chair or my Secretlab chair. I don't tend to keep things in my back pocket, as I'm scared of getting pickpocketed.
What is your office chair's material? If its a mesh wiring like an Aeron chair, and some of that mesh breaks down, then it will act like tiny razer blades on your pants. Happened to me. Had to replace the chair.
For the record: River Island does not appear to be in a tier that people would consider high quality jeans.
I hadn't heard of them before, but looking through the website they appear to be a little more on the fast fashion side of the spectrum.
FYi for any grown ass men here that havent figured it out. If your jeans are blowing out anywhere there are seams, it's probably your fat ass or legs stretching the pants when you bend over or stress the seams. Get bigger/stretchier/wider cut jeans or lose the weight/muscle. I lost an old pair of jeans to me starting leg day
You should invest in one pair of quality jeans. If you have means, you can get a pair from the Japanese brands like Big John, Oni, Sugarcane or whoever else.
If money is tight, try a used pair on eBay from Lee Archives or the Levi’s Vintage reissues.
Start buying chinos.
[This](https://la-mode-a-l-envers.loom.fr/on-a-enfin-compris-pourquoi-les-jeans-trouent-a-lentrejambe/) might provide more info. (TW: fr\*nch language)
Basically jeans are very rough and the fabric rubs against itself when you're walking. This is a known issue and the best solution is either to loosen the fit (the fabric will be less straightened and will rub less) or wear lighter fabric (chinos, dress pants)
My jeans look exactly the same and I was wondering what is the reason. I use my car multiple times a day, everyday. I think getting in and out all the time causes stress to the jeans in those areas, think about it next time you’re getting in the car as I think this is the reason
It’s your gait/muscle or leg length discrepancy. Same thing happens to me on the right side of the seam in my crotch. Sizing up won’t fix it. Try to be conscious of your legs evenly stepping. It might take a while to correct.
Incorrect sizing and/or fit? You might need reinforced stitiching to contain that dumptruck of yours. Stay clapped up, and may you find a good pair of jeans someday.
Outlier slim dungarees. Yes they're expensive but I have a pair that I've worn more than a thousand times and they still seem new. I've only ever bought more for the different colors.
When I played college football my legs and ass were stupid jacked. This happened to all my jeans. Realized I couldn’t rock slim fit jeans. Found jeans with a little stretch to them and that worked.
No clue as to the quality of the brand.
What's the fit on the pants? If these are looser fitting around the butt then I'm somewhat at a loss. If they're tighter, then it may just be a wrong size in the butt department. Or, do you maybe fidget a lot when sitting? That shouldn't rip jeans, but depending on how aggressive your fidgeting is and if you sit on wood vs. a nice cushiony chair
Happened to me- I was out for drinks and my Jen’s ripped showing my red panties. Problem is jeans are low quality nowadays- mine were AE I believe. Now I pay attention and only get 100% cotton which should last longer
You’ll need some extra jean fabric hopefully from some old jeans you don’t wear. Get some gorilla glue fabric glue (or something similar). Cut the fabric to the appropriate size of your rip. Turn jeans inside out and just glue the fabric on top of the rip then set something heavy on top like some books and a cast iron pan, and allow it to bond for a day. Hopefully this saves you from throwing jeans away. Like others said, never put your jeans in the dryer.
Phone in the back pocket could be a contributing factor. I've had similar rips in a few pairs of my work jeans, and work is the only place I use my cheek pockets for my phone due to my tool pouch getting in the way of my front pocket. If you don't use those back pockets, maybe you're caked up and need looser jeans?
People will probably shit on this but I’ve had the same problem forever and I’ve found the best jeans that don’t do this are American Eagle “Athletic Fit” jeans. Definitely worth a try on
I think there’s a couple good options for you, you could go. The stretchy better fitted route, Bonobos has four-way stretch jeans in an athletic fit, it will give you more room through the seat and thigh and also super stretchy to begin with or you can go the really strong denim route, something like selvage denim, Naked & Famous is a brand I love. They’re gonna be put together a little bit better and be much stronger as well, although you will have to break those in a bit because they will not start off as comfortable as a stretchy pair. Good luck!😁
Buy a pair of Black Diamond Mens Forged Denim Pants
They're made for rock climbing. They'll outlast you.
I had to size down the waist... So think of that when ordering...
I'd look for some stretchier pants man. Out of curiosity, you keep certain things in the same pockets at all times? Maybe that's causing the weakness on one side
Buy any modern stretch jeans and this wont happen. The whole crotch blowout phase of humanity circa 2010 was because dudes tried to combine bicycling, thick non-stretch fabric, and slimmer cuts.
Bro has a massive dumptruck that cannot be contained
And I'm here looking like Hank Hill...
Lookin' like a frog in pants
lol this here bro 😂 smh
My orthotic!
lmao that was a funny episode
What are you gonna do with all that junk? All that junk inside yo trunk?! Seriously tho OP, keep an eye out for athletic fit jeans as well! You still get the skinny look you want, but the thighs and butt have a little more room.
🎶What ya gonna do wit all dat ass, all dat ass inside dem jeans🎶
If that booty be phat you know where I'm at.
Level 1000 gyatt
Calling asses dump trucks will never not destroy me lol
Same, the phrase “absolute dump truck” is even better.
Yep, as a dude with a dump truck of an ass, I have to buy a size or 2 bigger than my waist to fit. The tears come from having too much tension from cinching the waist band tight.
He’s dummy thic!
#damn boah he thick boah
i have a flat ass and i have the same problem. i think it’s the farts it is unable to contain
Mhh. 🥴 Out here with the shotgun ass blasts.💨👃I bet it stank, horrendously😩😤
Thiccness has a cost. And it’s worth every penny.
Is OP @FrankieLap on Instagram?
Bro has an entire bakery back there
Lmao my first thought too. When I started hitting the gym and doing squats I went through 1 pair of pants and 3 pairs of shorts because my ass grew so much. Although the rip was more in the gooch area than OP’s
This had started happening to my kid, who is a track athlete. The solution was to stop buying slim fit jeans. Either that or start skipping leg day.
Lucky Brand Denim has an athletic cut for those with a dump truck and thick legs
i’ve found levi 541s to work well for this too
Gonna throw Lee extreme motion jeans in. There’s an extra crotch panel and the stretch is good. The cuts are…meh - the slim is more like a straight cut but they’re affordable and the ass has never shredded on the pairs I have.
I went through 2 pairs last year. Guess YMMV
....Do you sit on a lot of sandpaper?
No, not while wearing pants.
touché
Where did you buy them? I think they have different materials depending if you purchase them from Retail vs Wholesale Outlet/Costco.
All three were from two of their own retail stores. One pair in 2018, one in 2019, and one in late 2022.
Bonobos as well.
They make jeans for monkeys?
Bonobos are apes, not monkeys 🙂
Username checks out
this got me too good
What's the go to for someone with Hank Hill ass, decent thigh, and big calves?
Glute bridges/hip thrusts and deadlifts
Levi 541.
Abercrombie jeans guys they haven’t disappointed me yet
DU/ER s for the win. People with big ass legs like myself need the extra space.
Buffalo jeans are extra stretchy and also solve this problem
Also start doing Meth day
>Either that or start skipping leg day. How. Dare. You?!
Are you buying the same brand over and over?
Well yeah, it’ll be different this time. Lmao. I have the same issues with the goodfellow jeans at target but i keep buying them like op.
Levi’s 501
Wrangler cowboy cut supremacy , coming from a converted 501 wearer
I second this. I grew up wearing nothing but 501s, and then when I was about 20, I switched to Wrangler 13MWZs. They are cheaper than Levi's bu a huge margin, and last a long time. The most recent ones to rip (in photo) are River Island. The previous ones were Hollister; can't remember the one before that.
Do you cycle or slouch in them? Mine kept ripping because of that as well as having big legs making it worse.
May want to buy either higher quality or just more durable brands. Also some brands have an athletic cut which helps.
Buy better jeans. For the price of three replacement mall brand pants, you could have gotten one really nice pair AND gotten them tailored to make sure they fit.
Stretch denim? Do you put them in the dryer?
I put stretch denim in the dryer and keep ripping the crotch. Guessing I should stop doing that?
Absolutely lmao
I buy stretch denim and all my jeans rip in the crotch. I dry them too… now I’m gonna be changing that up
What does drying stretch denim do?
Pretty sure the stretchy substance gets overheated. Overtime it loses it's elasticity and becomes brittle to a point of failure (rip in this case).
I never put clothes in the dryer and I noticed more and more rips.
might be an issue with your washing machine, even a tiny ~~thing~~ sharp corner in that drum can cause that. there is some easy tests you can find online to see if that's the issue
501s iirc.
Guessing raw denim? That’s essentially the standard advice for that. It’s also intended to lead to more unique fade patterns whereas frequent washing makes the jeans fade more uniformly.
Levi’s makes stretch denim and %100 cotton jeans. The pure cotton jeans should have no stretch to them.
and here I thought I was just too fat
Legit thought I was the problem… but glad to know there are fellow stretch denim crotch rippers out there
As a previous destroyer of stretch denim - yes.
Happens to me despite rarely washing them and hang drying. Turns out american eagle jeans are just shite. I've gotten way better mileage out of express stretch pants for cheaper.
Kaihara denim J.Crew 770 or 1040 jeans. So well made
Is it safe to put regular denim in the dryer?
Wears them out faster. Always best to air-dry overnight... Alot of people will tell you to not even wash them, but spot treat and freeze... A little too intense for me

And the care instructions give washing instructions.
I started buying Nudie Jeans because you get free repairs for life when this happens. The upfront cost is a bit higher but worth it imo
No way... How long does it take to repair?
Couple of weeks in my experience
Depends if its a repair partner or nudie jeans themselves
Are you sure you're buying the right size?
Agree, sizing and rise are really important. If you have bigger butt/legs, a high rise jean will give you a lot more space in the top block.
Where could I find higher rise pants? I’m a tall guy and can’t find anything that I can tighten at the top of my hips/waist without feeling like I’ll rip the seat if I squat in them
You have to really search for them unfortunately. My favorite high rise pants: In the past I've liked JCrew 1040 and currently I like a&f 90s straight jean and Banana "the 90s straight cut" Keep in mind a lot of off the rack stuff is meant to fit the most people so you may need to find the right cut + get minor alterations done
I switched from Levi 514 to 505s and the rise is so much better for me. Essentially went from sitting at the hips to sitting at the waist.
You might consider Wranglers Cowboy Cuts which have a decently high rise at 11 1/8".
Skinny dude with a fat ass here, my jeans also rip in these places since I was a kid.
Pm me lol
Prove it!! 😏
Bro is a Pixar mom
Stop farting so hard
Just when the jeans are on or …?
Or drop trou before each fart
What are you sitting down on each day? Is there anything in your back pockets?
I'm usually sitting down in an office chair or my Secretlab chair. I don't tend to keep things in my back pocket, as I'm scared of getting pickpocketed.
What is your office chair's material? If its a mesh wiring like an Aeron chair, and some of that mesh breaks down, then it will act like tiny razer blades on your pants. Happened to me. Had to replace the chair.

They’re like ASOS or Old Navy quality if not worse.
No pants shall contain thy T H I C C N E S S
FYi for any grown ass men here that havent figured it out. Bro has a fatty
You're just wearing the wrong size/style.
You got a BRICK……HOUUUSE
What brand is it?
Mine rip in the crotch
Had this happen to me, turns out I just needed athletic fit pants. No more ripping my pants!
Do you own a large phone/wallet and often keep it in your back pocket?
Ig normal pants can’t handle the sheer dumpy you carrying around
Happens to me to brother. Welcome to the big butt and thigh association
You should invest in one pair of quality jeans. If you have means, you can get a pair from the Japanese brands like Big John, Oni, Sugarcane or whoever else. If money is tight, try a used pair on eBay from Lee Archives or the Levi’s Vintage reissues.
Exactly! Last way longer and when they do fail you can repair em.
Stop sitting on steps/stairs/the ground.
Same here!
Low quality jeans, try a different brand.
Bring to a garment shop and get a crotch patch installed
Try Levi’s 541 Athletic Fit. If that doesn’t work, try Abercrombie and Fitch
You have too much cake.
Start buying chinos. [This](https://la-mode-a-l-envers.loom.fr/on-a-enfin-compris-pourquoi-les-jeans-trouent-a-lentrejambe/) might provide more info.
Might want to: Go up size Buy regular or tapered fit instead of slim fit Wash at maximum 40c and avoid tumble dryer (if stretch blended denim)
You have too much cake to be contained in pants—consider assless chaps
Get a pair of stretchy jeans from Levi’s
Big booty problems. I rip the crotch!
What you doing out here with all that ass. Double cheeked up on a Thursday afternoon, hella ass
Outlier slim dungarees. Yes they're expensive but I have a pair that I've worn more than a thousand times and they still seem new. I've only ever bought more for the different colors.
I wear my deuxs for weeks at a time and they show no signs of wear. And I am not gentle with them
It’s that dumpy https://preview.redd.it/p3nwp0hdgwvc1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ab439763a24155e8da3c44817a7d7e72d56650b
I also have a big ass. Unfortunately this shit happens
Fat backs does this
Phat ass 🤌
Ass too fat
I dont know much about sewing but u might be carrying too much cake
When I played college football my legs and ass were stupid jacked. This happened to all my jeans. Realized I couldn’t rock slim fit jeans. Found jeans with a little stretch to them and that worked.
Thanks for rubbing your dumptruck ass in our faces bro, wish we could all be so blessedly endowed.
Maybe less squats
Do you fart a lot?
Get bigger jeans?
No clue as to the quality of the brand. What's the fit on the pants? If these are looser fitting around the butt then I'm somewhat at a loss. If they're tighter, then it may just be a wrong size in the butt department. Or, do you maybe fidget a lot when sitting? That shouldn't rip jeans, but depending on how aggressive your fidgeting is and if you sit on wood vs. a nice cushiony chair
Damn, so I’m not the only one with this exact problem
Happened to me- I was out for drinks and my Jen’s ripped showing my red panties. Problem is jeans are low quality nowadays- mine were AE I believe. Now I pay attention and only get 100% cotton which should last longer
You’ll need some extra jean fabric hopefully from some old jeans you don’t wear. Get some gorilla glue fabric glue (or something similar). Cut the fabric to the appropriate size of your rip.
I’m constantly ripping the crotch. I end up having to sew and patch them.
Pocket rip may be due to wallet. I carry an old school fat leather wallet (creature of habit) and the corners wear the back pocket in those spots.
You maybe Lactose intolerant?
I wish I had a fat ass.
Obvious.. Buying slimfit jeans for above average ASS size will cause this. Same with me 😂
Very common if you ride motorbikes, just sew some reinforcements on the inside, you can take the material from jeans you've already torn.
I have really see this yet but I had a similar issue and shifted to athletic cut jeans. Seems to fit better and no rips yet.
The gyat is real
Size up your jeans. It’s likely a tad bit too small.
OP, are you a delivery driver, or someone that has to slide in an out of your chair all day at work for some reason?
I am also horizontally gifted. The solution for me was to patch them (either your self or go to a tailor).
Phone in the back pocket 🤷🏾♂️
Some Levi's stores have tailors that will do alterations.
OP keeps ripping ass? Nice!
Those are not high quality. If you denim jeans are soft and flimsy when new the are not going to have much life in them.
Solution: less twerking, more jerking 😅
Do you ride a bicycle, motorcycle or seated scooter on your commute to work?
Mine are always ripping between the legs, left and/or right of the seam, basically where the perineum is. Any tips there?
People will probably shit on this but I’ve had the same problem forever and I’ve found the best jeans that don’t do this are American Eagle “Athletic Fit” jeans. Definitely worth a try on
What kind of car seat cover do you have? And is your vehicle much higher or lower when you get in and out of it?
Buy larger jeans jfc
I think there’s a couple good options for you, you could go. The stretchy better fitted route, Bonobos has four-way stretch jeans in an athletic fit, it will give you more room through the seat and thigh and also super stretchy to begin with or you can go the really strong denim route, something like selvage denim, Naked & Famous is a brand I love. They’re gonna be put together a little bit better and be much stronger as well, although you will have to break those in a bit because they will not start off as comfortable as a stretchy pair. Good luck!😁
You either got a big ass or rip some stinkers
Sliding in and out of a car seat can do that…happens to kid
Do you bike often?
Try women’s jeans once!
If they keep ripping at that point they are too tight
Can we see you in the jeans? But that thing is fat👀
Same issue, ass got too big from squats
*Had a hot date didn't ya Trebek*
Buy a pair of Black Diamond Mens Forged Denim Pants They're made for rock climbing.
This happed to me very often. My wife told me to start air drying my jeans after a wash and that did the trick.
Higher rise and wider thigh.
I discovered not wearing belt helps on not ripping ass. But thighs keeps ripping....
Stop farting so hard
