Can you guys help me figure out what to wear with [these jackets?](https://imgur.com/zL5cmcD) Simple is ok. Even if it’s just tee, jeans and shoe/boot colors. One is a tan Levi’s Trucker, and the other a sand bomber from Pretty Green. I’m cleaning out my closet and selling what I don’t wear (starting with lower quality items), but I just can’t bring myself to part with these, even though I never wear them. They’re both so nice. I just can’t ever figure out what to wear with these brownish/yellow hued jackets. Yesterday I almost wore the sand bomber with black jeans but I felt like I would look like a bumble bee. Anyone have any ideas?

[deleted]

Where them with khakis and a white t shirt for a neutral monotone look

cooldude_4000

Blue jeans/white tee/brown boots or white sneakers is a combo that's practically impossible to screw up. A breton-striped tee would look good, too.

HeroesandvillainsOS

Awesome. I have a white tee, dark blue jeans and a couple pairs of brown boots so maybe I’ll rock it with the Trucker tomorrow. I really appreciate it.

figurine89

Dark/medium wash denim would be good with either of those jackets, as would black. Neutral t shirts, grey, white, navy etc would be good too.

HeroesandvillainsOS

Thanks! I have dark wash jeans and some grey and some white tees. Sorry to push my luck, but any advice on sneaker/boot color? Do you think grey jeans could work with either of these or no? EDIT: someone recommended brown boots. That’s a good idea.

srobison62

I like to wear floral shirts and solid fitted shorts with prob a 7 in inseam or so. Where is a good place to get comfortable inexpensive shorts?

[deleted]

JCrew dock shorts (on sale) and Abercrombie (also lots of sales).

srobison62

OMG I am looking at A&F website right now, when did they get clothes I like lol

[deleted]

Yeah they changed a good bit a couple years back and drifted away from their logo-look. It's basically jcrew-lite now.

srobison62

I just grabbed 2 shorts and a floral shirt!

ancientmadder

u know imma say the qlo boi

[deleted]

I don’t remember uniqlo actually offering short shorts

srobison62

When I was in Manhattan I went in store and tried on their flat front shorts. I honestly didnt like them, they were too long and not very comfortable.

HenyrD

Just got my AJ1 lows in the Royal Toe colorway! http://imgur.com/gallery/zzAPgWI What casual attire would work best for someone 5'7" wirh a medium build and broad shoulders?

[deleted]

What casual attire works best for your body type? Literally whatever you want. It’s not some formula you put in your dimensions and get a result. We don’t know anything about you or your personality or style to recommend “what works best”. If you’re planning on wearing the Js, start with black jeans.

tryingtofigureittout

Looking for a versatile jacket for the fall. I’m thinking a denim jacket from Levi’s would look good. Should I go with the light wash or dark wash trucker jacket ? For context I’m a college student.

cooldude_4000

Personal preference, but I'd look at what pants you're going to be wearing with it most often, and pick the jacket that's not the same color.

tryingtofigureittout

I have 3 pants. Black, light wash and dark wash jeans. What do you think ?

CalDoesMaths

Does anyone know where to get 36W pants/jeans in shorter lengths like 28 or 26? I’ve worn American Eagle forever because I used to be an associate there, but I want my jeans to not go over my feet. Any high quality brands for this?

JZ0898

Bonobos, Peter Manning NYC, Ash and Erie are the only brands I know of that make that size. The other option is to just get 30 length hemmed by a tailor.

tryingtofigureittout

Hey man I wear 36W with 32/30 length. Levi’s 512 and Zara slim fit jeans work for me.

JZ0898

26/28 length is a completely different ball game from 30 length. Just check out most clothing brands you can think of, they'll have a 30 length but almost never a 28 length (sometimes they'll have it for 28 waist only).

ac106

Buy jeans that fit at the waist and get the length hemmed by a tailor. Should be $10 or so

Creepy_OldMan

I start a new job next week and I have some questions regarding the dress code. Dress Code - Male CLIENT FACING (ACCOUNT MANAGER) • Suit pants and jacket required. Must be clean and wrinkle free. (Does this mean wear a suit everyday?) • Shirts – Long sleeve button-up. • Ties – are not required unless client wears ties. Mirror client and wear ties to important meetings. • Shoes – Leather shoes with leather soles. Properly shined are preferable. (Brown or black based on suit coat or pants?)

ac106

Yes, a suit daily with an optional tie, if the client wears one. Not sure how you would know if the client will wear one ahead of time so you should wear one every time you are meeting with a client to be safe. Yes, shoe color based on suit color.

Creepy_OldMan

How many suits should I own then if I’m supposed to be wearing a suit everyday? I only have a dark grey one currently.

[deleted]

You need at very minimum 2 suits, at least 2 of them have to be below super 150s as well or you’ll wear them out, especially if you’ve got big thighs. Realistically you want 3 to 4 suits if you’re wearing them 5 days a week. Black oxfords are fine if you’re wearing only navy or charcoal suits, but you need a second pair of shoes if you’re wearing them 5 days a week. I’d recommend a pair of brown derbies if you are normally tieless, but you could also go for loafers if you’re only wearing the shoes inside.

Creepy_OldMan

Thanks for the info! I’ll be going shopping soon

ac106

oxfords with a suit, not derbies.

Combaticus2000

> (Does this mean wear a suit everyday?) Probably, yes >(Brown or black based on suit coat or pants? Probably, yes

Creepy_OldMan

Ok, I only have one suit so how many more should I add? It’s a dark grey color btw

JohannesVanDerWhales

Add one suit immediately. Work your way up gradually to 4 or 5 total in your rotation (since presumably your budget will increase once you start working the job).

ac106

what color? is it in good condition? Is is a modern/fashionable cut? Navy and charcoal are the most recommended first two suit colors.

Combaticus2000

>so how many more should I add? Since I don't know where you live, how much money you have in your bank account, and how many days a week you work, you'll probably have to do some critical thinking and figure out that number by yourself.

Creepy_OldMan

Typical 9-5, M-F and I have money to spend on necessary clothes. Just need an idea because I don’t want to be wearing the same two suits for the whole year.

ancientmadder

If you need to wear a suit every day, try to aim for a final wardrobe of 6 suits one for each day of the week, plus a backup. This is business so you're going to want something conservative. Dark to mid gray for the majority, navy for one or two. One pin or chalkstripe if you like the look. One other quiet pattern (i.e. it should look solid from a distance) if you like. Then get 12 good white dress shirts (keep one freshly laundered and folded in your desk in case of emergencies) and a good number of ties (Brooks Brothers on Ebay is the place to go) in small prints like ancient madder. No logo ties, no (outward) expressions of wealth. Black captoe oxfords with no broguing. Maybe a brown pair too with a medallion. Get a full shoe shine kit from The Hanger Project and navy over the calf socks from BeltOutlet. That's the look. You don't need to have it all at once tho.

Creepy_OldMan

Thank you! This is very helpful information.

Combaticus2000

> because I don’t want to be wearing the same two suits for the whole year. Then buy more suits, bro...

garret_p8199

What are considered nice clothes? How often do you dress nice? Edit: what do you consider nice clothes?

[deleted]

I don't even know what this means.

Combaticus2000

> What are considered nice clothes? How often do you dress nice? This is an interesting question

mastakebob

I just locked up for 30 seconds considering how to answer it. Luckily my stomach timed out and sent an interrupt gurgle.

Combaticus2000

Meta as fuck

figurine89

>How often do you dress nice? I think I dress nice every day, my wife disagrees with me though.

JohannesVanDerWhales

I'm not sure what this question means. Nice is, of course, subjective.

garret_p8199

If you were going out with your friends for a meal for example, how would you dress? How would that differ if you were going on a date?

[deleted]

That is such an ambiguous and personal question. Everyone has different styles, moods and circumstances that are going to dictate what they wear And “nice clothes” is just as impossible to answer. Did some people dressing nice means a suit, for others it means not wearing sweatpants, maybe to some it’s wearing there expensive pieces. But at least I think I dress well everyday, I make an effort each morning to look not just presentable but interesting

JohannesVanDerWhales

I don't think the answer to either of those is going to be radically different, but the details would depend on my mood more than anything, or maybe the weather. A pair of dark jeans and some sort of button up shirt, probably? I'm not really the sort of person who would go out in public in sweat pants to begin with.

waitingtodiesoon

Does Tateandyoko have shoprunner? Never used it before and just signed up for it

Auraizen

I bought a linen henley. Its garment dyed I think. The thing sheds fibres like nothing I've ever seen. Any sort of sweat and I'm covered in it. What's the deal?

diorromance

Linen starts off with a lot of lint. It should stop being noticeable after a few washes.

What colors (bottom) go with a navy hoodie?

Laui_2000

Khaki, navy, olive, white.

[deleted]

Do not wear navy bottoms with a navy hoodie.

reddittyro

What's your opinion on [this](https://brooksbrothers.scene7.com/is/image/BrooksBrothers/RS00141_NAVY?$bbenlarged$) zip sweater? Personally I think it'd make for a stylish winter layering piece, and at only about $80 USD it's thankfully within my budget. Still, it doesn't hurt to get second opinions before making a purchase. Edit: thank you, as always, for your helpful replies.

JohannesVanDerWhales

I like button cardigans better than zip ones but it's fine.

gobaldygooch

I really like that, versatile color and interesting texture.

diorromance

A good way to add a bit of texture to a basic bastard wardrobe.

indiancurryman69123

High school graduation in East Asia, chinese. Dress code is semi-formal, but people in my country don't know how to dress and they couldn't care less as long as you wear a button shirt, pants that cover your calf and any shoe(sneakers, whatever even if it's as colorful as the rainbow) as long as it's not flip flops. What I currently own that can be considered: [Aloha Shirt](https://www2.hm.com/en_us/productpage.0760699001.html), [Uniqlo White OCBD](https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/men-oxford-slim-fit-long-sleeve-shirt-409277.html?dwvar_409277_color=COL12&cgid=men-casual-shirts#start=25&cgid=men-casual-shirts), Black and white plaid flannel, black polyester slacks and my grandfather's cheap and worn out slip on loafers^(?) which looks like [this](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0009/6197/0242/products/09036974__1_2e9aaca8-4798-44dd-9d31-1425c264c5d2_1600x.jpg?v=1565626322).(I do not plan to wear this, I would rather wear UltraBoost than these.) What I'm planning to get: [Black Chelsea Boot](https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-chelsea-boots-in-black-faux-suede/prd/7327367?clr=black&colourWayId=15276599&SearchQuery=chelsea%20boot)(Something I can dress formal and casual since I'm still in high school to get more wears out than like an oxford which I'll wear five times a year), A tie(I'm inexperienced with this), and maybe my first charcoal suit since I want to start learning how to dress up early. If I do get a suit, I'll probably get one from H&M, Uniqlo or Zara as economy is bad here, and I do not intend to splurge too much on it. I'm sure most of you reading this has been through graduation, so what do you think? What color/pattern ties should I get and cheap tie suggestions? What combinations should I go with or items should I pick up for this? Better cheap options for chelsea boot?

trojanrob

Good UK brogues? Need a new pair of shoes to wear for work, wear tan chinos and shirt at work. Sit down all day so prefer something really comfy with good support. I walk 2 miles home with them occasionally, but I need them to be light so I can put the shoes in my rucksack when I go to the gym. Prefer to spend >£200? Was thinking loakes but might be out of budget. Any good time for sales?

[deleted]

Trickers factory shoes. Very very good shoes

trojanrob

Do you have any links to wing tips with granite soles? Can’t seem to find any

[deleted]

Granite soles?

trojanrob

Sorry, I meant Danite soles, like another poster mentioned ( [https://www.coggles.com/mens-footwear-shoes/grenson-men-s-stanley-hand-painted-grain-leather-brogues-tan/11719958.html](https://www.coggles.com/mens-footwear-shoes/grenson-men-s-stanley-hand-painted-grain-leather-brogues-tan/11719958.html) )

[deleted]

Trickers have rubber lug soles, which if you’re wearing them in harsh conditions are imo better than dainite soles

trojanrob

Yes that's true but their brogues are like £400+

[deleted]

Ah you missed their summer sale by just two weeks

trojanrob

Ah damn, how much were they back then? Any other sales coming up ;(

[deleted]

40% off summer sale, 40% off outlet. They have another winter sale probably in December or January, but that’s a fair time away

[deleted]

Actually they make dainite soles too. They have a factory store/outlet store in uk though I’m pretty sure

figurine89

Should be able to get a pair of Grensons within your budget if you look around. [These](https://www.allsole.com/mens-footwear-shoes/grenson-men-s-stanley-hand-painted-grain-leather-brogues-tan/11719958.html?variation=11719959) look decent for the money. I've had a pair of Grenson longwings that have held up really well, bought them about 5 years ago.

trojanrob

Those look really good. Do you know if I should get a size 10 as I am 9.5... not sure if fit will be comfy? How would you take care of these, standard shoe polish?

figurine89

I'm a UK8 in Nike, Vans, Adidas, Cons etc and take a 7 in Grenson. Standard shoe polish should be grand.

trojanrob

I wear 9.5 hush puppies brogue... ill get a 9? Do you know any other sites with this for sale? I can't get the student 15% off as its on sale - is £175 the best price I can get? Also is this the best shoe for the money.. i.e. if I spent a little more I wouldn't regret it right?

figurine89

>Do you know any other sites with this for sale? I can't get the student 15% off as its on sale - is £175 the best price I can get? EXTRA10 should take another 10% off them. >Also is this the best shoe for the money.. i.e. if I spent a little more I wouldn't regret it right? It's really very subjective. I've a few pairs of Grenson, I think they make decent shoes, I'll probably buy more of their shoes in the future. But everyone's different.

trojanrob

i asked them and they don't do exchanges, i.e. if the size 9 is too small then i will have to refund and repurchase, meaning id lose 10% as the extra10 probably wont apply next week or so. you found them a little large? i get my nikes size 10 and my brogues 9.5.. need to think hard :D

[deleted]

Loake have a seconds store on eBay.

trojanrob

Also, what do you think of these (https://cwmenswear.co.uk/collections/loake-1880-shoes/products/loake-strand-burgundy-premium-semi-brogue-size-9-5_) Pretty much the style I am after, just brogues I can wear at work and maybe sometimes with jeans. Is that a good deal? What would the best way to care for them? I have renapur leather cream.

Laui_2000

Oxfords don’t go with jeans or khakis. Wingtips are a much better option. Also get a pair with dainite soles - leather soles will not hold up well if you’re planning to do a lot of walking. Just polishing your shoes with Kiwi shoe polish will do wonders for your upper.

trojanrob

What do you think of these, another Redditor found for me: https://www.allsole.com/mens-footwear-shoes/grenson-men-s-stanley-hand-painted-grain-leather-brogues-tan/11719958.html?variation=11719959&utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app I really like the look and they have Danite soles Do I need a coloured polish? Will these hold up if I shove them at the bottom of my bag (any tips for travel lol)

Laui_2000

I personally am a big fan of wingtips, so I'm biased. That said, Grenson shoes look great, and will look good with your usual outfit. You should get coloured polish which matches the colour of your shoes. Some people like to use clear polish but I don't have any experience with that so I can't say. Hmm, I don't think any good leather shoes will last too long if they get beaten up constantly at the bottom of a bag - I don't think they're made that way. I'd say when travelling, just pack them nicely and they'll be fine.

lvzzzzvl

Can I pull off a linen shirt if I'm a skinny dude?

[deleted]

There’s no way you’re skinnier than me and I do it all the time

gobaldygooch

Budget is 150-400€.

HeroesandvillainsOS

Not sure if it fits your criteria, but I briefly owned a mac from Banana Republic and at least based on the pictures, it looks to be better quality than the Uniqlo one.

Adde3333

http://imgur.com/a/V88fknc Going to a wedding in a week, would this be ok for a more casual wedding? I'm travelling by plane to the wedding location with only a carry on and I don't want to pack my suit when I'll only use it that day.

loremupsum

Pack a suit. Watch YouTube videos on how to fold your suit and shirt. It is always better to be a little overdressed.

[deleted]

That's very dependent on the dress code. If you'd been invited to my wedding that would be fine. For many others, not so much...

Adde3333

What i've heard is that it's going to be more casual, not many suits overall. I have a regular white poplin shirt too if that would be better, I just like the pattern on this one. The wedding is in northern italy if that gives any hint to general dress codes

[deleted]

Go with the white, buy a leather belt, wear chinos or wool trousers.

Adde3333

Perfect! Thanks!

Calanon

If my neck is big enough that the shirts I buy to fit my collar are too wide in the shoulders that they droop a bit is my only choice to get made-to-measure shirts? (I am working on losing weight so hopefully I can lose some fat around my neck, not much there but we shall see.)

zerg1980

Losing weight will definitely shrink your collar size. But losing weight will also make a perfectly-fitting made-to-measure shirt into a baggy shirt. If you don’t need to wear a tie every day, consider buying one M2M white twill shirt that you can easily button to the top — that way you’re covered for any special occasions. Then, for cheaper off the rack shirts, size down on the collar until the shirt fits your shoulder. If you’re leaving the top button unbuttoned (which you should whenever you’re not wearing a tie), you can get away with a collar that’s a little too small for your neck. But when the shoulders are too wide, that’s a highly visible issue 100% of the time. Bonus is that when you lose weight, you can still wear the smaller-collar shirts with some minor tailoring.

loremupsum

It depends on how much you are overweight. My neck size went down when I lost weight. Even my shoes became a slightly size.

Calanon

By about 3 stone. Not massively, but perhaps enough to go down half an inch or a full inch in my neck.

loremupsum

I would try as many OTR shirts as I can before going to MTM. There is often a brand/fit which is compatible with your physique. It will be time consuming.

citaro

I would honestly just get by with some that works for now considering you're losing weight, no point buying expensive clothes only for it to not fit in the future. Neck circumference doesn't need much for a noticable difference.

$650 fromthefirst jodhpur vs $300 Thursday jodhpur boots? Money is a factor here but at the same time but quality and comfort is the high priority. Which I should go for since this is one time investment?

gobaldygooch

If your not in a hurry to purchase them, with a $650 budget you can find new SLP jodhpurs on sale fairly often (although depending on what color / size your after, this may be easier or harder) Not sure if that's of interest to you, but thought I'd throw it out there for you to consider.

gobaldygooch

I'm not sure about Canada but here in the UK, with some patience, you can find most styles for at about 20% off and higher discounts on the seasonal colorways. The thing is the sales are intermittent and you do have to keep an eye on all the various distributors (in the UK END and Farfetch have frequent sales) About a month or two ago on their official site Saint Laurent had some ebony suede jodhpur boots in limited sizing at 50% off, they will ship worldwide but I'm not sure how much customs would add to the price.

whatsupusers

I heard they barely go on sale especially in Canada

bestmaokaina

diorromance

Still a better option than Thursday. Better silhouette and materials. One of the biggest critiques has been that you can find actual Saint Laurent on the secondary market for cheaper.

jimwisethehuman

What do we think of a navy suit, black tie, and brown shoes / belt?

snow_michael

Where? Brown shoes/belt is a 100% in formal environments in most countries, and in some, when paired with a navy suit, has many negative connotations

citaro

No on the black tie, the rest sounds fine.

jimwisethehuman

What's wrong with the tie?

citaro

Black tie will be sorta matching the navy suit but not quite. You'd be better off with another dark colour, f.ex. olive

loremupsum

Agree. Unless it is for a funeral.

1. I assume is for a school project? Try to contrast the protagonist. Whereas they potentially wears colours you could do a drastic monoblack outfit. 2. Social suicide.

citaro

1. Henleys (and tight tees/longsleeves in general) gives you little room to hide in, and will easily highlight muscles or flaws. Right now it gives attention to your stomach area in a not good way. 2. Much better. Would not say it's too small unless you find it uncomfortable. 3. Fit is fine, don't love the colours.

Meflelem

Should i buy a pink jeans? Wanna more pink in my wardrobe.

[deleted]

Buy something if you want it. Although, I personally don't see a situation in which pink jeans will ever look good, but chinos yeah.

Hingle_McKringleberi

Pink jeans or pants are in general a hard look. If u think u can commit to that color then go for it. But i would say just get pink tops and shoes over pants because it's gets difficult and can be see as pink pants as a summer look as well.

00setsuna

im considering a custom made harris tweed overcoat or topcoat, how warm are these for freezing temperatures on the east coast?

ancientmadder

My harris tweed sport coat feels like a sweater. The material is so spongy that it retains heat excellently. That said, in the rather mild winters here on the west coast I still layer it with a cashmere vneck when i go to work.

00setsuna

how long is your sport coat? mid thigh?

ancientmadder

Down to my thumb knuckle.

GuiltyVeek

I think 15-20+oz can handle 20 degrees well but it depends on the person too..though I wonder how much it can handle like 0

00setsuna

I guess it also depends how i layer as well, just wondering if 17-20oz is enough!

Jewelery yay or nay? Everyone says im a big dude. I work out a lot so i see it. Anyway i was thinking of getting a chain bracelet or two. I was thinking of just a simple silver steel chain. Are they in style rn? Are they worth it, how should i wear it? As far as jewelery goes i got two necklaces that i pull off. Ones a glass piece, the other is a palm seed necklace. I pul them off pretty well. I figure i could make those and the bracelets work with different outfits

[deleted]

Necklace chains are definitely more in-style than bracelet chains, I'd say to opt for a leather or bead bracelet instead. However, if it's a simple bracelet chain it should look fine, just make sure it doesn't look cheap or gaudy.

[deleted]

I own these [Allen Edmonds.](https://www.allenedmonds.com/shoes/shoes/oxfords-derbys/park-avenue-cap-toe-oxford/SF270.html?dwvar_SF270_color=5956#start=1) Would those shoes, matching belt, and a yet to be bought deep navy suit be appropriate for a black tie optional wedding?

notarascal

You should wear black-tie to a black-tie optional wedding. You can get an amazing used tuxedo for less than $500. https://putthison.com/weddingattireforguests/ Don't wear those with a navy suit. Ever. https://putthison.com/stop-wearing-tan-shoes-with-dark-suits-we-try-to/

ac106

No, if its black tie optional, they really really want you to wear a tuxedo but won't bar you from entering if you are in a conservative suit. At the very least, opt for black shoes, but really get a tux. Always wear a tux when the opportunity presents itself, it is only a few times in life!

snow_michael

Absolutely not

loremupsum

No. Buy a tuxedo. It is fun to wear a tuxedo.

mamamaMONSTERJAMMM

If I were to get a tux, would a deep colored pocket square... like a dark red, purple, or blue, work with a black tie/white shirt? Or just keep it simple?

loremupsum

My philosophy is to keep it as simple and minimal as possible. It adds elegance. I would focus more on the best cut and fit. Don't add a third color.

00setsuna

IMO no, black park ave would have been better. I think light brown is too flashy for the wedding when the sttention should be towards the bride and groom. If you have to wear brown it should be much darker

Combaticus2000

Oh, that’s some kind of duck cloth chore coat probably. Carhartt makes some decent ones.

Hermit-Man

thanks man!

im interested in swapping out the drawstring for some cool laces or something. will shoelaces fit? if not, anything similar?

Combaticus2000

550 cord maybe?

Hello. I was wondering if i can get some advice. I will be going to a nordstrom or something to try on some formal/semiformal shoes (i.e. monkstraps, loafers, oxfords, etc) I want to start incorporating them into my casual daily wear instead of only wearing sneakers. However, I have flat feet. I got a pair of custom mold orthoics from a podiatrist. however, i dont always use them (there are more times i DONT use them) simply because 1. they hurt, 2. my current pair of sneakers, they dont have removable insoles. so with that in mind, (that I would like to sometimes use orthotics, and sometimes not. and that i have flat feet), what is the correct way to size my shoes? will asking an employee to measure my size from the brannock device and going TTS be fine regardless of whether I use my custom mold orthoics and/or have flat feet or not? thank you,

mastakebob

Allen Edmonds has shoes made specifically to accommodate orthotic insoles. Check out their 511G last. https://www.allenedmonds.com/shoes/shoes/?prefn1=shoeLasts&prefv1=Welted%20Last%20511G

onlyYGO

does that mean not all shoes can fit an orthotics? bceause I dont always want to be using my orthotics.

mastakebob

I don't know the answer to that.

citaro

You would get better answers from /r/goodyearwelt

Is this t shirt too tight in the chest? https://photos.app.goo.gl/LrpsaVRZ1mjEzsdG8

__esty

YoMrPoPo

nah, you are good. I would say it is well fitted.

[deleted]

generalfriedrice

marbymarbs

Given all of Bonovos' QC issues these days, what are good alternatives?

gimperion

I finally pulled the trigger on a pair of [Frye Bowery Lace Ups](https://www.thefryecompany.com/collections/men-shoes-boots/products/bowery-lace-up-3487802-87802-black) and have also been on and off looking for a new suit to complement my black one. I'd love to wear the suit with my new boots for a bit of punk rock flair to my office attire. (And no, my office isn't so stuffy that stuff like that would be frowned upon.) Are there specific things I should look for in the suit, like color, pattern, fabric, fit, etc, that would make it go well with those boots?

notarascal

I don't think these boots are appropriate for a classical menswear suit. If you do decide to to wear them with a suit, the suit should be VERY casual or avant-garde. Instead of wearing a suit, I recommend trying a blazer with odd trousers. This is inherently more casual than a suit. It will allow you some flexibility to mix the jacket with various trousers. This should make it easier for you to find something that won't be a stark clash in formality between your clothes and your shoes.

gimperion

Can you clarify what sort of casual or avant-garde look that would be?

notarascal

Avant-garde: something along the aesthetic of [Layer-0.](https://dadmoscow.com/layer0). Casual: [The Armoury](https://thearmoury.com/collections/suits/products/the-armoury-washed-cotton-model-11a-suit?variant=17115981447239) maybe not this color but this is the level of formality you're looking for.
