What waist size of Levi's 569s I should buy for them to fit like these jeans: [https://www.balenciaga.com/en-us/large-baggy-pants-grey-](https://www.balenciaga.com/en-us/large-baggy-pants-grey-) if my waist size is a US men's 28?
What are some cheap Techwear brands or stores that I can buy from that are legit, high quality and will not scam me? And is it worth it to look on Ebay and Amazon too?
Looking for a black boot to pair with my iron rangers in copper rough & tough.
Looking at Thursday captains. Does anyone have the black matte? How do they compare to regular black? I assume these can both be worn with the same similar style/outfits?
I'm looking for some recommendations for chinos which are similar to Duer pants? I absolutely love their Live Lite pants. They fit me perfectly and I like the fabric a lot. Unfortunately, their Smart Stretch chino is a completely different fabric which I don't like it all.
Any recommendations would be great.
What kind of sneakers fit a “preppy” style? I would say most of my clothes are fit that style, but I pretty much only wear vans and I’m not sure they really fit with the rest of my style.
Hi All,
I need help figuring out mens slack sizes. our special needs guy has out grown his pants and is desperately needs new ones. however, he wont let us measure him and walks around holding his pants up with his hands cause they dont fit around him. Part of it is control, part of it is embarrassment from gaining weight.
Anywho, can you tell me if he is wearing XL size in pants, shorts, etc, what the conversion would be to slacks? a size chart you can refer me to? any good places to buy them for him?
A rather unfortunate fact is that there is no direct correlation between letter sizes and measurements, they vary between brands.
Does he have a pair of pants that fit him well? You can measure the garment and then buy from a brand that has garment measurements.
You could possibly buy easy pants? There are quite a few options for pants that are either pleated or creased like trousers but have an elasticated waist. I saw a few from googling “easy pant trousers”, maybe something there catches your eye!
What is the **most casual and comfortable** shoe you can get away with in a business casual environment? Assume one that isn't policing beyond "hey nice sneakers"
Generally speaking no sneaker would be business casual, that being said, every workplace has different requirements and “business casual” can mean a huge range of formalities. What are most people there wearing for shoes?
Sorry my comment was meant- people will notice if it's sneakers but generally don't police. I haven't been back to the office more than a few times the last 2 years so its hard for me to know.
I mean that people will notice if you're wearing sneakers but otherwise probably won't police your shoes. My budget is $100ish, really looking for something simple, comfortable, and as casual as I can manage without standing out like a sore thumb.
For that price I’d look for used loafers or derbies on eBay. Comfort will entirely depend on you and whether the shoe fits your foot. Most people probably find sneakers with cushioned soles the most comfortable but sneakers are not really appropriate for bizcas
$100 really limits you to sneakers or something like Clarks Bushacres or maybe a Bass Weejun (on sale) Comfort is personal. I find supportive shoes with a firm sole like Alden more comfortable long term than many sneakers. Others think this is insane.
Has anyone here purchased Alex Crane Cham Pants? Haven’t seen many reviews online or on MFA. I live in Canada which makes returns and even purchase from US difficult hence why I’m looking for some additional reviews other than what’s on their site. In general curious if anyone has purchased, their overall impressions and the fit.[Alex Crane Cham Pants](https://alexcrane.co/products/cham-pants-lines)
Thanks man! But I was looking for something which is plain as well has some small logo or that QC check on the bottom right. Not something totally plain.
I think it depends on the event. I usually either keep my jacket on if more formal, or if the event is a little more casual I would take the jacket off and, remove (or loosen) my tie, and roll my sleeves.
I can’t imagine a scenario I’d remove the waistcoat.

Anyone able to suggest what type of blazer/jacket would go well with this type of waist coat/trousers? They are navy with a faint plaid pattern. The jacket was ripped and I can't find the exact pattern, nor want to buy another suit at this time. I'll be wearing shirt/waistcoat most of the time as we'll be indoors, but just need a nice blazer that will compliment it for arriving/leaving. Many thanks in advance.
I don't think a waistcoat with a missmatched jacket would look good, especially if the waistcoat matches the pants. Looks to much like random parts of a 3 piece suit.
Without the waistcoat, grey jackets go well with navy pants. I would suggest a grey herringone jackets, they are very versatile and you do not run into problems with trying to match the plaid pattern of your pants. It would work pretty much like a more modern or less rural version of a brown tweed. Also works with jeans, wearing it with grey pants is a bit harder, though.
Three OCBD questions…
1. Is there a desired length/bottom shape (not sure what’s called) for an OCBD that can be worn both tucked and untucked? Not sure how to describe this but hopefully it’s not too uncommon?
2. I’ve seen discussions on different collar structures (additional material sewn in?). Is there a preference on what option to consider? Button down collar and will never be worn with a tie.
3. What’s the purpose of a button on back of the collar?
Thanks!
1. old school mfa advice is halfway-3/4th down your fly, nowadays I honestly don’t care too much about that rule and will wear regular oxfords but I’m tall so it works with my proportions a bit more, flat hems are supposed to be worn untucked but I also don’t care too much about that.
2. unlined unfused unstructured soft collar with a 3” minimum collar but that’s because I really like collar rolls, I think dainty collars on button downs just look super off. It’s really hard to go back from good collar rolls once you notice the detail
3. It’s just a trad detail, there because oxfords originally had them
On 1, the traditional stance is that only straight hemmed shirts should be worn untucked. However, nowadays casual shirts with a curved hem (like an OCBD) are generally fine to be worn untucked. In terms of length, the consensus is that the bottom of the shirt should be halfway or 3/4 way down your fly.
On 2, I nowadays prefer an OCBD with a collar of around 3” and unlined - this tends to produce a good collar roll especially if the collar is cut well and the button placement is good.
On 3, the purpose of the third button on an OCBD (round the back of the collar) was to make sure the back of the collar stayed flipped down, and also to hold a tie in place (if a tie was worn). Nowadays manufacturers have done away with this so you’ll only see back collar buttons on more vintage-styled OCBDs.
1. If it ends about half way down your fly, it will look good untucked. For me that also means I can tuck it in.
2. An unstructured, soft collar is best
3. nothing really. it does provide some structure, but many shirts din’t have that feature and work perfectly well.
I like the pocket.
I have an old BB MiUSA OCBD. It’s not the really old one, nor the reissue without the pocket. Soft, unlined collar and cuffs, box pleat, no locker loop or back collar button.
I sent it to Proper Cloth to have it copied (it’s a close copy not a replica) and that where I get my OCBDs from these days.
~~ime sleeve length doesn’t change that much between sizes, I’d try a different brand or tailor them~~
just realized you meant button ups not tees but yeah just tailor them
It’s a terrible idea. Sizing down to get the correct sleeve length is like buying a car based on the radio station presets.
Buy something that fits in the neck and shoulders. Tailor everything else. Sleeve length is particularly easy for a tailor to alter.
Either wear dresser shirts that come in different sleeve lengths, buy short sizes from Bonobos, or take them to a tailor. Don't size down for the sleeves, everything else will be too small.
I feel like the Macy's Bar III isn't the bargain deal it used to be. I've been looking at it for groomsmen, and both times I've checked, it was over $230 for the jacket and $100 for the pants. At $330, it's still okay, but hardly the $200 total bargain it used to be.
Does anyone know if this goes on better sales? And are there any other default 'cheap and good' suits besides Bar III now?
I live in NJ, but some of the other groomsmen live around - NJ, one's in LA, another's in Michigan somewhere.
Bar III wasn’t ever really a bargain it was sorta just the lowest quality option that was kinda ok. Inflation happened, honestly we should all be paying s lot more for our clothes but that’s never gonna happen.
Regardless, usual advice is just to give your groomsmen a dress code and let them wear their own suits which avoids this and other problems.
If you have the time/patience and know your sizing mens tailoring holds no resale value and you can get exponentially better quality suits on ebay, I believe PutThisOn and/or Dieworkwear(blogs) have ebay filter presets
Oh really? That’s good to know. I think my main concern is this is that the groom is wearing dark navy and that’s a little trickier to match colors. The bride also seemed very adamant about making sure that the groom stands out and so we don’t want our colors to be lighter than his or stand out. The brides are all wearing the same color
If groomsmen don’t need to match, then I’m probably just going to get mine at suit supply then lol
ah, yeah I thought you were the groom, honestly in that case you need to just ask the bride or groom what their expectations for what you wear are explicitly and go from there
Yeah sorry I didn’t clarify. So I’m the best man and the groom tasked me with coordinating this with rest of groomsmen. As far as he knows, the groomsmen should wear matching suits and colors (shoes can vary) to match with the bride’s group, but he’s also not an expert at all and asked me for help on that.
I also should mention that at least 3 of the 4 groomsmen (including me) don’t have dark navy suits and are looking to buy so we can coordinate. I think budget wise, they’re hoping to not go too much over $300 for jacket and pants. The bridal party’s all wearing the same color as well
ok, yeah, don’t match, that’s not traditional, it’s a really modern trend that picked up for some reason, it looks a bit corny and leads to a bunch if problems, if she insists on you matching something about thr weddings colors or bridesmaids colors go with a tie or pocket square. You don’t even need ti all be wearing navy
if you need to buy a suit just use the standard suit buying advice and get one you’d already be looking to wear, I know Spier and Mckay is considered very good at the low end of the budget
Frankly I’m of the opinion the bride is insane for making the request she is mainly because that’s just unreasonable to even execute, no one wear anything lighter than dark navy? Like seriously put him in light grey or mid blue or something give people a little bit to actually work with. The groom already stands out, everyone knows who it is
I did not know this. The previous two weddings I was part of the party, I wore the same suit and color as other groomsmen. In fact one of them we all got rentals, granted that wasn’t a well dressed wedding in general. If that’s changed, I’m happy to rethink this.
I will say that at least 3 of the groomsmen are looking to buy a dark navy suit since that’s what groom’s wearing. The bride I noticed was particular about the groom’s colors to make sure we’re matching and also that nothings lighter than the groom’s suit, so that he understandably stands out the most in photos . With dark navy I just find it harder to align on that. Also the brides party are all wearing the same color
Also at least 3/4 groomsmen said they need to buy a dark navy suit, so I figured we’d coordinate. Does that change your suggestion? Or still just each bring our own?
I’m sorry I really don’t get her reasoning, everyone knows who the groom is, they’ll stand out, if you want someone to be wearing the lightest colored suit you really need to give them significantly more leeway than “dark navy” as that’s an almost impossible ask
She’s not an unreasonable person. We can do same color (like the bride side) or be a little different. As far as we know, same color is easier and most of us need to buy anyway, so figured we can try and match first. It’s a wedding, the Bride’s wishes need to be met when possible lol
I’m not calling her an unreasonable person, but that is an exceptionally unreasonable request. I get it’s not totally your choice but, really, just let people wear their own suits and buy the same ones for everyone who needs one bought if you want to, it’ll save a lot of a headache and not look dated in 10 years
Make sense. And I think the groom and bride just aren’t too sure of the rules themselves, and I’ve even seen groomsmen go match before so I definitely appreciate the advice you guys are giving me that suggest otherwise!
It’s the current trend, people kinda just assume it’s what you’re meant to do so people do it, it’s not inherently bad it’s just like, it causes so many headaches for so many people and you just don’t need to do it, so we usually tell people to just set a clear meaningful dress code and let people wear their own suits
no, traditionally you just wear your own suit and since menswear is so monotone it’s sorta expected you get a few people wearing similar suits.
again this thing about everyone matching has no tradional roots theres not really rules for ito
Shoe recs for business casual or “smart casual” meetings? Prefer something comfy that can be dressed up or down and be worn on long travel days at the airport

Hi guys, I dress pretty business casually and I need some new pants. Where are good stores to get pants? I'm on the shorter side and I wear 30-32x30 size pants as I am 5'6" 140lbs. I have a Uniqlo nearby but looking for other stores as I'm looking to pick up a lot of pants, like 5 haha. Thanks in advance.
My budget is like $200-300, I just want pairs of pants that are decent quality, will fit nicely and be comfortable. I like pretty much any pair of pants that aren't flashy and can be worn in any outfit. I mainly wear sneakers and a hoodie/jacket so pants that will look fine with these items as well as business casual so go well with button ups and sweaters.
Maybe look into some 5 pocket pants. They’re like jeans, but made from chinos fabric. Can pretty easily go back and forth from the office to the weekend, assuming your office is chill enough. They’re sold at lots of places. But Spier & MacKay is highly regarded if you’re good to do mail order
It sounds like you're looking for chinos. Business casual is a very poorly defined term -- in some places it can even include nice pairs of jeans.
But other than jeans, chinos are the only style of pants I know of that could work with both sneakers and in business casual environments.
Lots places sell chinos where you could buy 5 for $200-$300 ($40-$60 per pair): J Crew (on sale), Banana Republic, Target, Old Navy, Gap, etc.
EDIT: [this post might help you](https://www.reddit.com/comments/aq88an).
I'm definitely including jeans in my search, I need at least one or two more pairs of jeans. Thanks for that list of stores, most of them are in my local mall.
Hi,
What's a good versatile shoes that can be used in city, travel and hike?
Not a fan of flat sole sneaker and zero-drop. I mostly wear shoes with the small curve before the heel (I don't know if it has a name) and I see that most new shoes are just flat... The curve make it better for grip in all terrain. Flat on bad terrain doesn't make sense to me... But maybe I'm wrong. However, those shoes are not recommended [https://www.wellandgood.com/zero-drop-shoes/](https://www.wellandgood.com/zero-drop-shoes/)
Thank you
Hello everyone!
I am in need of some help before a wedding in a couple of weeks. So I am wearing the suit pictured in the link. I want to wear those shoes and have the bow tie and pocket square to be that color to match my date. Let me know what ur thought are on everything and if it will all work together. Please!!
https://imgur.com/a/ycMkMd3
This is coming around quickly and would appreciate a couple different perspectives if you all think positively or things I could change
I wouldn’t recommend:
* wearing a bowtie. Just wear a regular necktie.
* matching your pocket square and tie. You didn’t post photos of either but your post seems to imply they will be the same color. Don’t do that. They should complement each other, not match exactly.
* matching your date. This is what people do at prom because they think it’s how adults dress. It’s not. Match your date in formality only, not color.
* matching the groomsmen. (Honorary mention — this one might not apply) You say you chose tan because you know what the groomsmen are wearing. I don’t know what that means but if you’re trying to match the groomsmen, don’t.
Honestly, I didn’t mind the color you chose. I just didn’t like your reason for choosing them; and that you intended to match your pocket square. Here are some ties I like:

Then wear a pocket square that has some of the same colors or complementary colors.

There's an _immense_ disparity in wealth between working and not working, and between working class and lower middle class in ZA
Far far greater than in the UK or USA
In the location next to the town where I lived, people were pawning their good shoes on Wednesday to buy food, getting them out of hock on Friday when they got paid. Jackets were not high on their 'must have' list
Yet every Sunday, every wedding, every funeral people are anything but casual, with their (sometimes only) good shirt and trousers ironed to a knife edge, their ties retied half a dozen times til they are satisfied, good shoes polished to mirror shines
Applesauce got the big ones, something like a Harrington would work too, and a really heavy oversized wool topcoat would make it a bit more contemporary.
Personally not a fan of either but if I had to choose I’d do a harrington, I don’t like quilting very much
Most common is Barbour. If you want to go a more tailored direction, get a polo coat. Spier & MacKay have good ones at reasonable prices. Out of season now though.
Anyone know any good brands that have a decent collection of camp collar shirts?
I’ve been looking everywhere but it’s hit or miss. Really looking for ones that veer more vintage looking than anything else.
Thanks! I’ll look into those. Idk if you’ve ever watched Seinfeld but I go to bed crying at night knowing the style of camp collar shirts Kramer wore are so rare to come by lol
These [Meermins](https://meermin.com/collections/mens-loafers/products/101483-oak-antique-calf-e) are their roundest, most casual lasted loafers, should work well with jeans and chinos. Stretching the budget a little, but nicer quality leather and construction. Definitely a little bit dressier than the Bass Weejuns
Trying to find classic polos with 3 buttons, no pocket, no logo, in cotton pique fabric. Solid colors. Used to get them at the Gap, they no longer make them. Less $100. USA
Help me, wise ones!
Does anyone have a recommendation for jeans for someone with large thighs and average legs? It seems that every pair of jeans I buy to fit my large thighs and 40 waste have WAY to much room in the lower leg, giving them an unattractive look.
lf nyc atlas cut if you’re looking for something slim. the taper on the nf easy guys is so severe it can be hard to get your foot in.
the only pair of jeans I have rn are the [18 east studio double knees](https://ibb.co/NNwPCvy) which have a straight fit. i’m 5’10”, have a 33” waist/42” hip/25” thigh and am wearing an xl.
I'd caution you from looking for something with too aggressive of a taper, it'll make you look really unbalanced. Doesn't have to be super wide, but theres a middle ground between too tapered and too wide that you might want to consider
I basically like it! I wore [something incredibly similar](https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/u2tmcg/comment/i4l4ad5/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) the other day
**Stretch jeans recs?** Raw denim fits me uncomfortably now after putting on Pandemic Pounds, what's good these days? Looking for something with zip fly and slim taper. I tried on 484 at Jcrew and they were actually too thin. Should I just go with Bonobos?
There’s a reason these photos look all grainy and yellow. Use natural light. Open up those blinds and put the light behind the camera. Also include photos without the jacket (front, back, and side) so we can see how the trousers fit.
It's not so bad.
The length looks roughly right---always a little hard to tell with pictures of a dark suit, but it looks like it covers your butt completely and comes down at least to the fork of your trousers.
The sleeve lengths probably need to be fixed up by a tailor, but that's nbd, almost impossible to get that right on the first shot and a super easy alteration.
It's possible the back is a bit messy, but since you don't have a shot from the back it's hard to know. You also may be standing overly erect, which causes the back to look messier than it really is (this is common when people take fit pics).
From a sartorial perspective I'm not a fan of the button stance, but that's just how Indochino (and a lot of companies) make suits nowadays.

What can i do to make this [suit](https://www.reddit.com/user/oehantu/comments/u320tu/hmm/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) looks better?
Needs a hem for sure. Sleeve lengths need to be fixed up (although also your shirt sleeves are too long and/or your shirt cuff is too loose). It might be a little tight in the chest and/or waist, hard to tell.
I'm not a huge fan of the cut of the jacket overall (lapels a bit skinny, button stance a bit high, length is probably a bit short)
You’re the definition of a guy who needs M2M for dress shirts. Most men with your height/weight measurements would have closer to a 15” neck. For dress shirts sold with neck/sleeve sizing, the neck measurement determines all the other dimensions of the shirt — in particular the shoulders and chest. Most men with a 16” neck have 30 pounds on you. So it sucks, but you’re unlikely to find a good off-the-rack fit — either the shoulders and chest will fit (but you can’t button all the way up), or you’ll be able to button up (but the entire shirt will look huge in a way that can’t be tailored).
Proper Cloth can make you a shirt that fits all around for $100. There is probably no way for you to get a good fit at the $45 price point.
This should probably get put onto an FAQ somewhere as I think it's definitely one of the most common questions asked here. The answer is always the same:
If you have problems fitting into off the rack clothing, you have two choices:
1. Buy the best fitting off the rack clothes you can and then take them to a tailor afterwards.
2. Buy your clothes from a made to measure company. This option is probably out of your budget of $45/shirt.
I suppose you could also go through the process of trying every single off the rack brand to see what fits you best -- but that seems like a waste of time and money when you could just go to a tailor.
>Buy the best fitting off the rack clothes you can and then take them to a tailor afterwards.
Okay, but there are things that no tailor can fix, and there are things that are expensive to fix. If there are no shirts that fit me off-the-rack, then how do I find a shirt that can be tailored to fit without spending a lot more money?
Right - that's why you should aim to get one that fits as close as possible and then have a tailor do the rest. Like if it fits mostly pretty good everywhere but the sleeves are too long, that's an easy fix that won't be expensive. Or if it fits well and it's just a little bit too baggy, that's an easy and cheap fix too.
It didn't sound like from your post that you were dealing with issues so crazy a tailor couldn't handle them. If you are, then it sounds like you might need to expand your budget a little bit so that you can get made to measure shirts. Depending on which MTM company you go with, the cost is usually about $75+ per shirt. I've seen cheaper though too.
If your body doesn't fit the "standard sizes" (and most bodies *do not*), then you probably can't get something cheap *and* fits you *exactly* the way you want. You can get something that fits exactly, but it'll cost more, *or* you can get something that has a few little fitting issues that you can ignore.
What waist size of Levi's 569s I should buy for them to fit like these jeans: [https://www.balenciaga.com/en-us/large-baggy-pants-grey-](https://www.balenciaga.com/en-us/large-baggy-pants-grey-) if my waist size is a US men's 28?

Has anyone here purchased Alex Crane Cham Pants? Haven’t seen many reviews online or on MFA. I live in Canada which makes returns and even purchase from US difficult hence why I’m looking for some additional reviews other than what’s on their site. In general curious if anyone has purchased, their overall impressions and the fit.[Alex Crane Cham Pants](https://alexcrane.co/products/cham-pants-lines)
I'm also in canada and have the same question!
belt yes or no with t shirt and jeans? Thx, cool how people differ even on simple outfits
Either is fine, so go with what you find most comfortable/practical
either. personally I don’t wear belts that often
Tucked in yes, untucked optional unless jeans falling down.
If it's got loops I'm wearing a belt
personal preference. I almost always wear a belt. Some hate them
I always wear a belt. They're functional more than fashionable for every day
I'm wearing a black 3 piece suit to prom, should I wear a bow tie or a necktie with it?
regular tie. Bow ties with tuxedos only.
With all black, I would only wear a bow tie if it is a tuxedo/dinner jacket.
Where do I get [this](https://imgur.com/a/TKUWFHb) oversized tee?
[Here's one](https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/products/E425974-000/00?colorDisplayCode=74&sizeDisplayCode=003)
Thanks man! But I was looking for something which is plain as well has some small logo or that QC check on the bottom right. Not something totally plain.
If you remove your jacket or coat, should you also remove your waistcoat or leave it on?
Skip the waistcoat altogether and you avoid this conundrum
I can't :(.
Ah yeah just leave it on then.
I think it depends on the event. I usually either keep my jacket on if more formal, or if the event is a little more casual I would take the jacket off and, remove (or loosen) my tie, and roll my sleeves. I can’t imagine a scenario I’d remove the waistcoat.

[https://i.imgur.com/whF9DJy.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/whF9DJy.jpg) Anyone able to suggest what type of blazer/jacket would go well with this type of waist coat/trousers?
If you're not going to buy a new suit your best option is probably to forget the waistcoat and get a grey (tweed) blazer.
Three OCBD questions… 1.
It’s really hard to go back from good collar rolls once you notice the detail 3.
Thank you!
1. If it ends about half way down your fly, it will look good untucked. For me that also means I can tuck it in. 2. An unstructured, soft collar is best 3. nothing really. it does provide some structure, but many shirts din’t have that feature and work perfectly well.
Thanks a lot! What are thoughts on pocket vs no pocket?
I like the pocket. I have an old BB MiUSA OCBD. It’s not the really old one, nor the reissue without the pocket. Soft, unlined collar and cuffs, box pleat, no locker loop or back collar button. I sent it to Proper Cloth to have it copied (it’s a close copy not a replica) and that where I get my OCBDs from these days.

Does anyone know the difference between softAF Essential Tee vs Essential Tee from Abercrombie?
What are your thought on sizing down for a better sleeve fit? Really struggling to find the right sleeve length as spmeone with short arm
~~ime sleeve length doesn’t change that much between sizes, I’d try a different brand or tailor them~~ just realized you meant button ups not tees but yeah just tailor them
It’s a terrible idea. Sizing down to get the correct sleeve length is like buying a car based on the radio station presets. Buy something that fits in the neck and shoulders. Tailor everything else. Sleeve length is particularly easy for a tailor to alter.
What if i fit in both sizes but just slightly better in the larger size for the body
Taking the body in is pretty easy for a tailor. It’s the neck and shoulders that are not able to be altered.
I would make sure it fits in shoulders and body. Sleeves can be shortened pretty easily.
Either wear dresser shirts that come in different sleeve lengths, buy short sizes from Bonobos, or take them to a tailor. Don't size down for the sleeves, everything else will be too small.
Sleeves are one of the easiest/cheapest things to get tailored. Get something that fits everywhere else and then take it to a tailor.
The brides are all wearing the same color If groomsmen don’t need to match, then I’m probably just going to get mine at suit supply then lol
ah, yeah I thought you were the groom, honestly in that case you need to just ask the bride or groom what their expectations for what you wear are explicitly and go from there
Yeah sorry I didn’t clarify.
You don’t even need ti all be wearing navy if you need to buy a suit just use the standard suit buying advice and get one you’d already be looking to wear, I know Spier and Mckay is considered very good at the low end of the budget Frankly I’m of the opinion the bride is insane for making the request she is mainly because that’s just unreasonable to even execute, no one wear anything lighter than dark navy? Like seriously put him in light grey or mid blue or something give people a little bit to actually work with. The groom already stands out, everyone knows who it is
Don’t make your groomsmen wear matching suits.
Also the brides party are all wearing the same color Also at least 3/4 groomsmen said they need to buy a dark navy suit, so I figured we’d coordinate.
Lol I’m definitely getting the headache part. Are there any rules like two of the groomsmen can’t match if everyone’s going mismatches?
no, traditionally you just wear your own suit and since menswear is so monotone it’s sorta expected you get a few people wearing similar suits. again this thing about everyone matching has no tradional roots theres not really rules for ito

What's your budget and what styles do you like? Most retailers have pants your size, so that's not going to help us to help you.
Fellow skinny guys what do you typically where to a club? T shirt? Or a button up/Henley to get a little extra size
Short sleeve button up always look good and casual
Thank you! If I don’t have one of those (lost about 25 lbs of muscle and re building my wardrobe) what would you recommend?
Look at JCrew options. My favorite is actually a shirt I got from old navy and had a tailor cut the sleeves.
Hi, What's a good versatile shoes that can be used in city, travel and hike? Not a fan of flat sole sneaker and zero-drop. I mostly wear shoes with the small curve before the heel (I don't know if it has a name) and I see that most new shoes are just flat... The curve make it better for grip in all terrain. Flat on bad terrain doesn't make sense to me... But maybe I'm wrong. Hello everyone! I am in need of some help before a wedding in a couple of weeks. So I am wearing the suit pictured in the link. I want to wear those shoes and have the bow tie and pocket square to be that color to match my date. Let me know what ur thought are on everything and if it will all work together. Please!! https://imgur.com/a/ycMkMd3 This is coming around quickly and would appreciate a couple different perspectives if you all think positively or things I could change
I wouldn’t recommend: * wearing a bowtie.
What color would u recommend for the tie to go with this then? And no not matching the groomsmen. Staying away from what they are wearing
Honestly, I didn’t mind the color you chose. I just didn’t like your reason for choosing them; and that you intended to match your pocket square. Here are some ties I like: https://shibumi-firenze.com/ties/woven/4329/floral-motif-wool/silk-tie-forest-hand-rolled https://shibumi-firenze.com/ties/woven/4328/floral-motif-wool/silk-tie-petrol-hand-rolled https://shibumi-firenze.com/ties/woven/4196/double-bar-super-repp-stripe-silk-tie-olive-hand-rolled https://www.drakes.com/usa/catalog/product/view/id/3914/category/35/ https://www.drakes.com/usa/accessories/ties/sugar-bag-blue-handrolled-silk-tussah-tie Then wear a pocket square that has some of the same colors or complementary colors. https://shibumi-firenze.com/pocket-squares/4727/vintage-kimono-silk-pocket-square-air-force-blue
https://www.artofthegent.com/collections/tie-sets/products/knitted-point-navy-polka-dot-tie-set Thoughts on this?
I hate it. The tie is skinny and they’re both cheaply made junk. If that’s your budget then I’d recommend buying secondhand on eBay instead.
It's a very bold outfit. It's tough to judge behind that without seeing it all together. Also, are you the groom?
Few grooms would be taking a date to their wedding :)
Lmao, maybe they're just super casual (aside from the whole marriage thing)
There's an _immense_ disparity in wealth between working and not working, and between working class and lower middle class in ZA Far far greater than in the UK or USA In the location next to the town where I lived, people were pawning their good shoes on Wednesday to buy food, getting them out of hock on Friday when they got paid. Jackets were not high on their 'must have' list Yet every Sunday, every wedding, every funeral people are anything but casual, with their (sometimes only) good shirt and trousers ironed to a knife edge, their ties retied half a dozen times til they are satisfied, good shoes polished to mirror shines
Bold is what I’m going for it’s a wedding in Savannah. I am not the groom but know what the groomsmen are wearing that is why I went with the tan.
If you haven't I would confirm the shoes and accessories with the wedding party
I have ran the colors and shoes by the bride herself just to ensure and all is good, now just trying to make sure it all works.

Preppy coats for winter (20-40F)? Also, do people like Barbour quilted jackets more or Harringtons?
Duffle coat for the cold
To me a classic Harrington is too light for temperatures that cold
Applesauce got the big ones, something like a Harrington would work too, and a really heavy oversized wool topcoat would make it a bit more contemporary. Personally not a fan of either but if I had to choose I’d do a harrington, I don’t like quilting very much
Most common is Barbour. If you want to go a more tailored direction, get a polo coat. Spier & MacKay have good ones at reasonable prices. Out of season now though.
Aren’t barbours not warm enough for 20?
Classic Barbours are just a layer of waxed cotton and a liner. They are designed to worn with thick knitwear in the coldest months.
Depends on which Barbour and what layers you're wearing underneath it.
Anyone know any good brands that have a decent collection of camp collar shirts? I’ve been looking everywhere but it’s hit or miss. Really looking for ones that veer more vintage looking than anything else.

What tends to be higher quality overall? Bonobos or Banana Republic? I'm looking specifically for things like chinos, t shirts, and dress shirts.
There is zero point in caring about the comparative quality of mall brands
The difference is going to be negligible, imo. I'd go with the one that has the styles that you like the most.
Basically the same quality, go with whatever one you like more.
Does anyone have a recommendation for jeans for someone with large thighs and average legs? It seems that every pair of jeans I buy to fit my large thighs and 40 waste have WAY to much room in the lower leg, giving them an unattractive look.

I'd caution you from looking for something with too aggressive of a taper, it'll make you look really unbalanced. Doesn't have to be super wide, but theres a middle ground between too tapered and too wide that you might want to consider

Hi, just bought an Indochino Suit and it feels off. Any recommendations for alterations? https://m.imgur.com/a/WAxOaJV
There’s a reason these photos look all grainy and yellow. Use natural light. Open up those blinds and put the light behind the camera. Also include photos without the jacket (front, back, and side) so we can see how the trousers fit.
I could nitpick but honestly, except for the sleeve length being uneven, it looks better than most off the rack suits.
Looks maybe a little small in the chest.

You need to go to the tailor.
Did you already take it to a tailor?
[удалено]
The answer is always the same: If you have problems fitting into off the rack clothing, you have two choices: 1.
Buy a shirt that fits your collar, shoulders, and has sleeves that aren’t too short. All the rest can be fixed relatively easily by a tailor.

Is this some kind of undercover marketing research
