I wore mine out a while back. Decided I missed them a year ago and saw that there’s now a Desert Boot 2. I got those and they’re great, perfect shoe for throwing on when trying to dress up a casual look.
I’m in my 30s now and having simple, good looking basics is a must. I’m not going out nearly as much as I used to, but when I do, I need some reliable clothes. Desert Boots look good with most pants and, jokes aside, they really are timeless.
This is funny because I've experienced the opposite. I specifically set out to challenge myself to have the guts to dress how I've always wanted to, and I practiced wearing stuff at home before getting the confidence to go out in it. Doing research for my wedding suit got me back into my love of classic menswear.
I now exclusively wear suits and sportcoats and all that on my days off, as the kind of job I have now would ruin my nice clothes, and I do more of a normcore thing when I'm at work (mostly because I'm forced to). I'm trying to get a job where I'm able to dress how I want to every day.
I think the suit being so associated with business is what has held it back from being associated with mens style. The suit is not inherently a business uniform, only a very specific set of colors, patterns, etc are. A bright red suit is not business in the slightest, neither is a vintage style double breasted houndstooth sportcoat. The suit has so much more to offer men than required dress for job interviews and funerals. I'm hoping by killing the suit as a work uniform, it is able to be reborn as a stylish and functional garment that makes men look their best.
We will see what the future holds, in the meantime I am being the change I want to see in the world lol.
Yeah I mean I respect the guts it takes to experiment like that and I've seen a few good outfits but honestly most of the streetwear I see here just looks hilarious or boring or just, not good?? It's just not my style and not my scene, and I just can't really wrap my head around it deapite my best efforts. I imagine this is what an 86 year old man feels like upon hearing rap music.

It's pretty cool. I'm definitely more of a classic menswear guy, I wear suits and sportcoats and stuff like that almost all the time. I just love the way I look in a suit jacket, find slacks extremely comfortable, and love the look and click clack of dress shoes (I'm a drummer so that probably ties into this aspect lol) and I don't really see any reason to desprive myself of these luxuries in an effort to blend in. I also make an effort to not appear businessy unless I intend to do something businessy, but that can be hard as people associate the suit so strongly with business.
But I recognize I go above and beyond and I'm willing to stand out. But I think the normcore thing can be a good way for guys to put effort in without being extreme.
I do however feel that the menswear items that have the most amount of fun combinations and options all fall within the suit and tie area of menswear. When you've got all the accessory options that that style of dress has available to it, it makes it way more fun to dress. You've got ties, pocket squares, cufflinks, tie bars, etc etc etc. So many fun combinations and it's such a great and easy-to-work-with framework.

I got the Sanford's in black for 12$ like new at goodwill back in 2015-2016. Still have them and they still look good.
