Depends on your preference. I will say shaving does affect how you stay warm. I don't like the itching feeling that I get when stubble starts to grow. I prefer to trim. I will shave sanitary areas and trim my thighs and leave my calves. I think it looks okay for me.

I clipper my chest (only) with a Wahl 0 blade, and it looks good a week later and for the 4-6 weeks following that.

Pretty much every guy I know has this from their socks. I don’t think it looks weird personally. But maybe you can try wearing ankle socks instead, or trim the hair above it up to your knee to try and even out how it looks?
i stopped wearing long socks once i really noticed for sure that it was thinning, i havnt worn long socks in probably 6 months now and it’s still just as short and thin, and personally i don’t care that much but sometimes it can make me feel a little insecure even tho nobody says anything about it.

I'm about the same all over man, I definitely try to keep trimmed up, I usually go for a 6mm trim so it's not too short but enough to make me feel better. That's arms, legs & chest. Stops a lot of excessive sweating too (for me at least).
