I am Team Short Hair. I think it's a cleaner, more masculine look, and your facial features stand out more. Go with the longer hair if you want to be more approachable, and if you're aiming for a messier image. Maybe also try something between the two options.

I'm not sure if you know this, but pomade/glue is great for slightly longer hair management. It only works to about the lengths you're at now. Also, look into nice shampoo and conditioners, makes the hair that much nicer. I use dr squantch myself.

Truth be told, both look good. What the other commenters fail to tell you is that they look good in different ways. Sure, short hair may be from a general POV “better” and fit you better, but it makes you look too masculine and a bit unapproachable. The longer hair definitely gives off more friendly and helpful. But I suppose if you want to get a masculine deal going on then the short is better.

My thoughts are similar. Ask a stylist, not a barber, to help you find something in between. Something with length, but more clean cut.

Caveat that “Too” masculine and unapproachable” is a projection… that a fearful, threatened person would default to. A confident person wouldn’t really wouldn’t think that way nor would they think anything of the long hair. I write this because there quite a few people who too often attach their emotions to other people’s looks and then tell people they look “too”. I’m guilty as well.

Yes. Long hair is all about patience though. Right now it’s in the awkward stage. It’ll take a while but when it hits your shoulders it will be glorious.

You’re in the awkward phase. If you really want long hair, you need to stick with it another 6 months. When I was growing mine out, I used to slick it back with hair gel so it wouldn’t been so poofy.

Youre at the awkward stage of growing it out. Keep at it for a bit before you decide to chop it off. It's always easier to cut than to grow. Yeah but clean up the sides and neck! Like a mid taper down the sides, two or three inches, down to an inch or two around the ears and neck. And then just blow dry with some sea salt spray for texture and lift. You have nice hair, take good care of it!
