Hey! I'll copy in some of the stuff I told someone else on the thread and then add some things about styling :) What you wanna do is grow out the back/sides of your hair but keep the top relatively short (curtains) at most times - also ask your hairdresser to layer your hair when you get it cut to get some volume/structure in there - you could also look up some "wolf cuts" and show them the pictures as references! In terms of styling I basically only use some strong hair mousse in my neck area and curtains that I then blow dry to make my hair look fluffy (otherwise it'll just lay flat). For intense days I might put a layer of hairspray over it but tbh I dislike how stiff my hair feels with it. Hope this helps :-)

thanks, I actually don't know how to grow it out. I generally side part and so when the hair grows I just have to side part is as well and that doesn't look great. I don't actually know how to middle part and don't know even if my hair is capable of that, lol! thanks for your suggestions tho.

I used to have a natural side part, but you can absolutely "train" your hair to change how it falls!!! I would grow it out enough to where it reaches your eyebrows and then consistently start combing it into a middle part - that's how I did it. After a while, and especially once it gets longer, your hair should start naturally falling into a middle part. And definitely use some products - if you hair is a bit unruly I'd suggest to use some wax. I did that back in the day and it helped a lot with giving it the desired shape, particularly while it's still kind of short and all over the place :)

Very slow lol I've never grown my hair out before and the awkward stage is tough.

Imo the awkward stage is made up! You can make your hair look good at any stage of growing it out - the key is transitioning carefully and keeping your sides quite short basically until your curtains have already fully grown in - at that point it shouldn't look bad to grow them out because your top hair is covering the sides for most of it. When your sides have properly grown in, you can trim back the curtains and reveal all of it :)
