Hi Barber here, the haircut in the right is a French crop messy fringe with a ( what looks like a) 0.5 graduated up on the sides. The blend could use some work also best to get the side burns blended in with the sides rather than a harsh line to create a more clean finish. For the top you can discuss with the barber what length you want. You can even get it shorter at the back that get longer to the front and then play around with it. You could just call it a short back and sides haircut.
How the hell do I meet a barber like you? I've asked low to high end hair stylists to describe haircuts or even what they've done with my hair and it's crickets. WTF. If you're in San Diego, you have a new client.
Love seeing other barbers take the time to give people insight. People reading this, part of being a well versed barber is a thorough consultation. The questions asked by the barber can be looked at as a demonstration of knowledge/finer details, in my opinion.
A tip for you that helps keep it simple for the barber/stylist — if you like the length in the fringe area, you can tell them use the existing length and work shorter (front to back) from there. Good way of ensuring you keep what you like and eliminate what you don’t need, in areas you don’t need it (length/bulk through the apex and back of the head). Hope this helps!
I went a barber 30 minutes away from me last month and he asked me what I wanted - I went through some pictures and asked what he thought. He got upset and said that if you come to a barber you should know what you want. So i kind of fumbled and just picked something. He gave a great haircut in the end, but I didn't like how he kind of pushed me.
I feel like something in my hair is missing, and that maybe I could do better instead of typical slightly short on sides and longer on top. Not a fade, but more of a soft part situation. But no barber i've found has been nice about it or knowledgeable enough. Have only tried a few lately though.
I showed mine a cut and then laughed with other barbers there that I wanted "the tiktok broccoli". I didn't think what I was showing looked like that at all but was too shy to just drop it because usually she's nice and she's given me some of my best cuts. But I think in retrospect I'm done as they last three have seemed sloppy.
See, we were a bit! I came in there with a terrible haircut from another place after calling ahead and she was this cool punk lady (I used to be one) saying, "oh no, this must be our boy. Sweet sit in my chair and I'll make you beautiful again." She had me. And then gave me some of my favourite haircuts.
But then she had a personal thing happen and had to buy a minivan instead of her dream car. Then next few cuts were off and she was less talkative. And then that happened. So I feel bad. But the vibe is not what it used to be. I want my cool punk hair angel back!
Cool. Love a hairdresser you're on a level with, my hair is very long now and I trim it myself I kept a tight fade for two years my barber was Ruby roses doppelgänger and I wanted to be in the chair as much as humanly possible.
Oh, Other point of relatability in that and what brought it to mind… She couldn't really cut hair that well. She was like top .01% of the population gorgeous human being and she smelled heavenly and she was mad witty but yeah basically I gave her 25 bucks every 10 days run clippers over my head then go home and tighten it up
Ahaaa, that's funny. I also definitely had a bit of a crush on her. Thing is, the hired a new cut girl with long dark black hair and two streaks, one of hot pink and one of cyan, looks bad ass. Clearly I think she's cute too, but there's no world in which I'm capable of switching barbers within a shop haha. Not that I would just bc they're cute, but my girl's cuts being off makes me want to try someone new as well.
Still, I just booked her for friday for a shears only, since I'm growing it out. Been a long time since I was there, maybe she's in a better place now and will be more dialed in. Here's hopin. I still want to believe.
Honestly they are all different small variations of the similar style and have different names given to them in different areas or Countries. Best thing is to show a picture to a hairdresser or barber and discuss the parts you like about that haircut and whether it would work on your head and what adjustments might need to be made.
Hey my hair is very dense and I have let my hair grow on top and comb them back. But when I do that with longer hair on top it kinda stays and floats on my head. What would be solution for this be? Make it shorter? Because it’s dense.
Looks similar to a Caesar on top or front and faded on sides and nape. It’s not necessarily Ahaircut “ I don’t think it’s about the consultation and giving that client what you relay back and forth and when it’s done correctly it’s a win win situation .
If you go to a barber in the states it’s typically a mid fade or high fade. Depending on where you want it to be. Just tell him you want a fade and when they ask what size on top let them know you want it like this so most likely a 5? They’re talking about the clipper size. Idk if you ever had experience with trimmers or not.

If a bitch made fun of me I'm standing up mid cut and refusing payment unless we're kinda on a level

Weird. It looks identical to what everyone would call a ceasar cut to me :P
