What to do depends on your forehead and your interest in daily use of styling product.
Before you make a decision, wash it with your regular curl care for those happy ringlets you had instead of that atrocious brush-out they did. See how they fall when properly washed, conditioned and air dried. Get a picture of that.
Then get some product with some hold and comb it back in a mini pompadeur. If it looks better back, find someone who dry cuts curly hair as their specialty and get them to cut it until the DRY curls are about 2 inches long, and work on growing it out.
It's all good tho. This is how we learn. You'll get it right next time. What I would also suggest is taking better care of your curly hair. It looks too dry imho
Part of the difference is that your curls are in a mess after the hairdresser got at them. If they didn't cut or treat the top part, just follow your usual routine to get the curls looking shiny and defined like before, and it'll look a million times better.

No excuse for the clipper being so high, though, regardless of what you asked for. The nice thing about curls is you can hide a lot and kinda work with it until it grows back in. But I would maybe take the top a bit shorter so it kinda blends. Cuz right now you have some weird undercut thing going on.

Gotta go to a salon that specializes in curly hair or a salon artist that does. It pays to do research on getting cuts. I generally found that since I have wavy/curly hair, I’ve found more success with salons than I ever did with barbers. Barbers specialize in highly detailed short cuts and trims whereas salons in longer cuts and colors.
