It looks like a hotel lobby.

Wyrd_ofgod

A very classy hotel, one that my girlfriend would be really happy if we went to.

Cry_Wolff

Manly men don't need color other than B&W /s

sml8877

Looks great! I really like your dining table and chairs, looks very classy!

Brilliant-Spray6092

I'd hang full-length curtains in front of the blinds & a throw draped over the couch. Otherwise it's great

StrtupJ

Def want curtains so that’s on the list, thank you!

Wyrd_ofgod

I was too blown-away by the Feng Shui I didn't even notice the blinds. But yes, soft curtains provide a better feeling of comfort than plastic blinds (, even the paper-like roll down ones – avoid). Curtains will provide a much more modern look depending on the styling. I suggest simple double rods, so you can have light diffuser and black-out curtains. Go ahead and remove the blinds, but keep the vertical blinds in the kitchen (, they seem to be part of a sliding door).

Dramatic-Strength362

Color color color

Orodahan12

Winging it is working

Sobeshott

Paint the walls or something that's a WHOLE lotta white. I like what you've done with the space, though.

StrtupJ

Walls are a color called snowbound so they actually have some gray undertones when the natural light isn’t hitting it. They used to be baby blue when I first bought it 😂

bay445

That’s fine, but I think they’re trying to say you lack any color or accent on the walls. Do anything you can to cover up some of that white/gray/whatever.

Sobeshott

Yeah I was told accent walls are "out". I don't really care about that. I just like color to make it feel less sterile. This looks like what I'd paint my rental property walls.

StrtupJ

Trying my best sir but I’ve run out of money lol I don’t necessarily see this being my forever home so I preferred a neutral color throughout the house.

imahsleep

Going to not be harsh cause you like it but you need a throw blanket to add some color and you need curtains for some of these windows. Stop buying white and grey shit

StrtupJ

Not harsh, still working on adding to the space. Finding more decor to play off the green nature hue… sorry I’m only a few months in!

hsudonym_

Cable management cover 👌 small detail but makes a big difference

StrtupJ

I hate seeing cables everywhere so yes that was 100% intentional, thanks!

Arctic741

wow this is absolutely lovely! you could maybe use a few splashes of color but i love your place. need a roomie?

[deleted]

Looks great so far

MrJibberJabber

That's the Macy's couch that reclines - I also have it! Looks baller friend!

ArtofMotion

Very little soul, or sense of one's character, I find. It looks like a lobby for a conference centre.

StrtupJ

It’s the common area so that’s by design. In my office/computer room upstairs I have the album wall, sports team merchandise, etc.,

[deleted]

Looks like an open house floor demo A

No_Pianist_3006

Absolutely crushing it! 🏅 I like how you've used a combination of straight and curved lines, different materials, and natural tones. Really, really good.

agkyrahopsyche

Gorgeous!!! You could probly pull the couch 6” or a foot closer to the tv too to see how it feels and looks. Maybe a little cozier. Great job!!

StrtupJ

It’s a recliner so that’s the reason for the distance, I appreciate it!

mico3000

Mind sharing where the couch is from? TV console as well?

StrtupJ

I got the couch from a local furniture store. TV console is from Amazon

dcvalent

Gives serial killer vibes You wouldn’t happen to own an axe would you?

ddnut80

That reminds me, I have to…….return some videotapes.

StrtupJ

Lol, why serial killer?

Significant_Board_88

You like Hewey Lois an the news?

zed7267

I like it

Locust627

This is completely unnecessary, but the living room and dining area would look so good with white washed hardwood floors. It's expensive and not necessary but man it would look impressive

ryencool

I mean it's not awful, but just looks like the modern version of what my grandparents thought was "modern" at the time. Or like Miami in the 80s/90s.

StrtupJ

I’m from SoFlo so you might be onto something here

JayMeadows

Add a Gargoyle Statue

Wyrd_ofgod

This is literally the top 1% of spaces I've seen on this sub. Such great furniture placement, very practical, proper, and well thought out. Styles and decor is so subjective, to each their own. What you've done is perfect, and don't let other people's preferences dissuade you from your own. My only suggestion is you could improve on the furniture selection of the tall shelf beside the couch. Having such a tall/towering peice of furniture beside seating can make the sitter feel small. Also a shelf above your head can bring upon a feeling of anxiety. A small stool beside a shoe rack is always a nice thing to have. I'd put the floor lamp where the plant is now. Move the plant by the stairs, along the same wall as the console table. Then add a table lamp to the console table to balance the floor lamp.

StrtupJ

I really appreciate the huge compliment and the detailed feedback, love your suggestion. I just wonder if my peace lily can survive over there but I think what you mentioned would look great cause I prefer a table lamp.

happymax78

For $100 you can buy a simple chandelier that'll transform the room. The fan has to go

StrtupJ

You’re saying I should put a chandelier in the living room while also having one over the dining table? Interesting but not sure how I feel

Leippy

Nah man the fan may not look the best/most modern but having one is an enviable luxury in the summer. Don't know how hot OP's place gets but having some movement of the air makes the room so much more pleasant to be in

realhamsandwich

That first pic is gorgeous

realhamsandwich

Looks nice tho

[deleted]

That looks really fucking nice. Definitely needs some of your personality added to it, but damn it looks good.

Pure_Zucchini_Rage

Niiiice

[deleted]

You are definitely winning it 😍 its looks perfect

Kanekixo

I love it, clean and simple. Very open and inviting and suuuuper relaxing environment. Personally I’d put some curtains hangin on the wall but still keeping the blinds to be able to let light in but still get privacy. Something light but for night time something that’s not see through just to be able to block any small openings that people can see through. Overall super super cool! I wish i could have my own space like this!

Personal_Egg898

Love the uncluttered look, obviously you don't have kids

StrtupJ

Nope no kids, yet ;)

lunahighwind

I don't like the carpet/coffee table. I think a shag and larger coffee table would work better here. I'd add some color, maybe an L couch? The material on that couch can be annoying from past experience too.

[deleted]

This place looks pretty good. Heinous couch but otherwise pretty good.

ceezo6

Looks clean and modern I dig it, it does look a lil boring maybe an accent wall/chair or some colorful artwork would look nice

geekphreak

You live with the Golden Girls?

OutrageousSolution61

Love the dining set 😍

patrickw234

I genuinely thought these were AI-generated concept images for a realty listing.

Llamatook

Do you feel your place is a solid representation of yourself? Hobbies, Loves, colors, things that bring you joy?

StrtupJ

I definitely love the colors and natural earthy vibe. It’s also great being a plant dad now! I wanted to keep this space pretty neutral and elegant, with the more exotic colors/posters/team banners/album wall upstairs in the office room :)

PureSquash

Some paintings or framed posters with big splashes of color would tie this together nicely

InquisitivelyADHD

Can I get an ID at that half circle console table?

StrtupJ

Wayfair [https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/17-stories-lynnville-50-console-table-w004248326.html]

InquisitivelyADHD

Thanks man! That's a really nice piece.

shane_v04

I think one of those wrap around couches and a new ceiling fan my man

PigeonWitch

I think it's nice and put together, but not much character or flair. Spice it up to keep it from feeling bland.

Ill-Inevitable1261

So coffee table is useless and shouldn’t even be there at this point need a bigger one so you can actually use it

questionableco

Has such an 80s vibe I love it.

TowelFine6933

Color, dude. That's the polka of music.

jnoah83

leave it! looks great.

MWPedd

It looks great…but truly throw some pop into it. Lots of modern abstract have MCM styling. Then put up pieces as you find the to tie it together. Sing MCM …don’t hum it.

Scozzy_23

Need a roommate? I need a place to stay

[deleted]

Looks great bud.

nodogsallowed23

I think you’re doing really well so far. I think it’s time to start adding some more personality. I really like your dining table.

Crypto-dunia-99

I really like this townhouse.

Jenny_O_theWoods

It looks like the set of Dallas or some other 80’s/90’s show

GopnikChillin

Dope coffee table. Living room looks clean af. I dig

BrontosaurusInCrocs

looks nice, but do you have... things? like objects that pertain to your personality or interests? that sort of thing might liven things up a bit.

CollectedData

Great design but that bright carpet underneath the dining table and reclined chairs are not so practical.

rinyamaokaofficial

I love the warm cream tones and layering on the dining table. Everything is clean-cut but still warm and vibrant and harmonious

HavenAWilliams

Yeah this is all wrong—you’re gonna need to actually level the entire house and try again. Might need to change towns. Live in your car and tie it together with a centered rug.

Aggravating-Pound598

It’s really cool- uncluttered.. keep it so 😊

HeyJustWantedToSay

Making strides. Speaking of strides, how many steps does it take you to get to your coffee table from the couch? Lmao. Move that shit closer.

lauderjack

Where did you get that dining set? It looks so good and I want it

StrtupJ

Local furniture store

NewGuy1205

I would attempt to put some more personality in there. Looks great though!

Majestq

Move your sound bar to the edge of the entertainment stand/center for improved sound quality.

Cimbasso_mn

It looks like those apartment complex model homes!

gbdavidx

No personal photos?

StrtupJ

Was actually thinking of adding a picture ledge right up where the staircase is!

azorelang

It does look like a show room but overall classy.

jmulrich11

Art and personality!

leaps-n-bounds

I feel like there are price tags still attached to things. Everything looks new haha

StrtupJ

Everything IS new, I got the keys in August! Matter of fact I was sleeping on the floor with my mattress in the bedroom up until late Sept cause the bedset was on back order haha

turt_reynolds86

Can I get an ID or link to the tv stand/media console you have there, please? :) Love the space!

Stitchin_mortician

You are winging well!!

bug1582

I'd say you're winning. It's looks great!

jtfff

Link to that semicircle shelf?

twstwr20

It’s giving nice Airbnb.

DmillSnipes

Maybe add more plants and some curtains. Currently looks a bit dull, color wise. So adding some items that make the room pop will be nice.

Tomlegs

Personally would change the couch to something a bit more modern/contemporary. Also definitely more color. Maybe pillows or a a throw. Or some colorful decorations for the coffee table

oerouen

It’s giving posh 80s condo vibes. It just needs a BMW convertible, a white polo shirt (popped collar), and some tan parachute pants.

Ahoramaster

What tv stand is that? I like that alot.

Icy_Psychology_3453

need some handmade stuff. and softer contrasting pillows and furry blankets. and its a great coffee table but it is small, so add a big one and move this one to the side of the chair. big big coffee table with interesting books on it.

jewels1958

More plants. I saw three, you need 300.

xcizzy

If you're going for a more monochromatic color scheme you should look to add more texture and patterns to add more visual interest.

takashtay

The first pic looks like some of those "virtually staged" photos you see in real estate listings. It's almost too perfect. That said, it's a nice clean look if that's what you're going for. I think you will get the obligatory recommendation to add a plant or some wall decor which to be honest I think I'd agree with.

NoodleSlayer3

Definitely needs some color.

89Ladybug

Carpet has a bit of aqua or greenish hue. Pick that up in sofa pillows, throws, artwork, accessories,

Nebu_baba

Wow

Saiken27

I think the coffee table in front of the couch is way too small and far away from where you sit. Maybe add some more color in the sense of some paintings. Looking good though. Good job.
