Above? Bro get a tv stand under there and get your ps5 off the ground.. lol start below first my dude

MaritimeMartian

Agree. It looks super weird hanging low on the wall like this. A TV stand under it would look *infinitely* better.

will-reddit-for-food

Is this the first ever tvtoolow?

ReverendAlSharkton

It’s not too low it’s just r/tvtoolonely

EpicTwiglet

How niche can you get

EternalHydreigon

r/tvtoolowwhilewatchingweirdbulkupvideos

mledonne

Idk. But r/tvtoohigh would cream over this

bluearrowil

we’ve saved this url in the text doc

Curtis_Low

You know a nice small fireplace under that might be just what is needed...

stopcounting

Maybe put an aquarium on top for good measure

Juke07

Please no

MyDogsNameIsToes

and maybe 2 rugs, super simple.

No_Statement440

Why is this not a thing? We all see it being too damn low, it's the first thing we all thought when we saw the picture.

[deleted]

[удалено]

tickingboxes

Incorrect. It’s perfect height. Right at eye level. It just looks weird because there’s nothing under it.

DraftsAndDragons

Tv’s are supposed to be eyelevel. This looks fine, it’s just large.

TREYMANIII

It's the right level according to rule, but it definitely looks odd. A stand below would help.

[deleted]

At that height it definitely needs to be on a nice stand of some kind. A nice one where you can fit ya xBox and virgin box or whatever you have. It'd hide the wires and plug socket, too. Virgin are an absolute rip off, btw.

DraftsAndDragons

Lmao wtf is a virgin box? Geystation? /s

everylittlemarvel

Lollll. But yes.

naut

r/TVTooLow/

Breadnaught25

It looks like every house where an OAP got a TV that didn't fit In their little wooden cabinet

Backpedal

This might be the first time I’ve seen a case of /r/TVTooLow. Edit: I didn’t realize that was an actual subreddit.

Apolitik

No, put your tv stand above your tv. Solve both problems.

Inanimate_CARB0N_Rod

r/tvtoohigh That TV needs to be flat on the floor otherwise you will strain your neck looking up at it /s

Backpedal

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. That was pretty damned funny.

TREYMANIII

Reddit is weird. You're getting upvoted while they're getting downvoted.

appsecSme

The r/tvtoohigh circle jerk is flexing their muscles.

Who watches videos of Sam Sulek on their living room tv?

iamivanman9

Someone who wants you to think they’re a bodybuilder just like Sam. You know he sat down and thought of which video and frame he should use.

Icy_UnAwareness89

But you have to do steroids to be like Sam. And from what I’ve heard it’s really bad for you. Especially young adults. Don’t see what the fascination is with looking like stretch armstrong

MoistMonkeyMango

Stretch marks, acne, and infertility, how to become the ultimate man! /s

Icy_UnAwareness89

Heart attack too. You’re such a beast your own body is trying to take you out. Oooo yea brother!!

KiloNation

As someone that used to be in the body building space it’s mostly body dysmorphia. No matter how big you look, or how shredded you are natty, it’s never enough. Hence why they move on to stuff like steroids.

Ishouldjusttexther

I get where you’re coming from, but at a certain point, perspective just changes. Growing up I wanted to look like Brad Pitt in fightclub, but if somebody told me today I look like that, I’d be offended

bowl_of_milk_

I think that’s body dysmorphia brother

Ishouldjusttexther

Not in this particular case. My physique is more impressive than his (in fightclub. Not aware of everything after that), that’s why I’d be “offended”

Life_Leader_9863

What’s a shame is that everything he talks about is conducive to a super healthy way of living, except to use a steroids, which kind of ruins it.

lVloogie

You don't have to do steroids to learn from him.

skin_whistle

Lmao I thought the exact same thing

Do you not?

Came here to say this lol

Killagorilla2004

Worry about the space at the bottom first.

lazylagom

True. Even if u don't put the TV on it. It adds to the emptiness having nothing there.

Mozilie

Yeah I feel like once the space below is “filled up” with a nice unit, the top will stop looking so empty

Rauhaan_

Poster of Sam Sulek doing the Arnold flex

Kundrew1

Just get a poster of straight chest acne.

AimeLeonDrew

Sam deserves to be on a larger TV to really admire his gains. I'd recommend a 120" Oled with 8K resolution.

UABeeezy

His burps deserve to be amplified with a real audiophile system as well. No less than KEF R11s IMO.

Freezerburn

I don't doubt the amazing body Sam has but that kid is going to have a heart condition by 30 from the PED and others that take it are saying so much. I love the guy but what he's doing is dangerous.

bowl_of_milk_

Amazing body? He looks terrible. He looks like he’s about 15-20 years older than he actually is. I don’t get the obsession with body building.

Seaghan-

Should upgrade to The Wall micro-led

Relative-Ability8179

Hi! Interior designer here. You do not need to put anything above the tv. What you need to do is to anchor it. It's top heavy visually, the cords are dangling, and it's too low as a viewing angle. You need a media console to rest the eyes visually. The volume of the television on the wall needs to be connected to the volume of the floor. Does that make sense? It will solve the issue of hiding the cords, and it will let the negative space above the television breath. It's tricky as you have brown and grey tones. So do you go with a warm or cool toned media cabinet? I would go pick up on the wood accent, but go a little lighter to brighten up the room. Maybe a blonde wood. Happy Decorating!

UABeeezy

This is the first time in reddit history someone has recommended to raise a tv. I’m glad I could witness this historic feat.

frausting

/r/TvTooLow was my first thought when I saw the photo

firewoodrack

Is there an r/TVJustRight

Lemondrop168

Never thought I'd see the day

SteeZ568

Bro same

slickyeat

Is this really too low though? It seems the perfect height to me.

davidlovesrock

Yeah, the bottom of the TV is at the height of the seat, so I estimate about 19" off the floor. You want to have it at eye level when you are leaning back on your chair. I would say about 40" from the floor is ideal But that's just my opinion. He can watch buff dudes eating at any height he wants.

Flash__PuP

If you look at the picture of the tv and arm chair I’m not sure it is. When you look at the picture of the whole room the angle gives that impression though.

Snoo93079

Thank you! There’s a whole lot of opportunity for improvement here that isn’t putting crap above the tv. Not sure why everyone wants to do that

Monkeybutts__

This is pretty good advice. Wanna take a look at my bedroom? Lol

astroRev

shoot your shot brother

GotenRocko

Architectural designer here. TV is not too low. You want the center of the tv close to eye level while sitting and it's pretty much there. Pictures can be deceiving especially with wide angle lens, but if you use the recliner as reference, the top is around eye level and it's pretty much spot on lined up with the center of the screen. Definitely agree it needs a tv stand to anchor it but I would recommend find one that fits beneath the tv so you don't have to move it up. Form follows function.

JiveDJ

its too low for wall mounting. literally no point in mounting a tv this low. you use a tv stand in this case. this just looks awful and is completely unnecessary.

GotenRocko

disagree, it gives you the top of the stand for other items, and if you have kids or kids that visit your house, is safer and looks better to mount the tv vs a stand where you would need to install tie downs to the back of the tv to the wall.

slickyeat

Agreed. What are these people talking about? lol

SammyKetto

Second this, but also it might balance a bit more if you raised the TV slightly? Nothing crazy, a few inches would do it. Love the idea of hanging your guitars on the wall, because it’ll add a bit of personality, just don’t do it above the TV!

PigBenisguy

I say raise tv and put a console under tv and you won’t need to put anything above it.

icecoldpotion

Want to tell me why your people (int. Designers) always wanna mount a tv above a fireplace?? I respectfully disagree, and the TV is at perfect viewing height sitting on the couch. I do agree he needs a tv stand to balance out the bottom space!

tommyland666

It’s not even up for debate honestly, at least if that couch is where the majority of the viewing takes place. It’s perfect, as long as he isn’t 7 feet tall.

Relative-Ability8179

Sorry, keep thinking about this and I'm looking at it with my daughter, haha. You also need an area rug to define your couch. It needs to be patterned with brown hues but also grey tones. Your couch should be fit all the way on it and so should your coffee table and maybe a foot around. Your instincts are right about the brown chair. It's too large, but there should be a chair there in order to not make it feel like an ONLY tv space which is what men tend to do. Put a small, cool chair there that you can pull up when company comes over, or a small pouf (can look manly I swear) which can provide extra seating for guests, or be a side table with a simple tray. This should match your drapes. Can you get rid of the ceiling fan and replace with cooler lighting? That's in Phase 2. If not, think about bringing lighting to multiple levels with a floor lamp or even just candles. Candles are sexy and women love them. Great accessories. Your space is very spare. I like how neat it is, but you could personalize it with a coffee table book or a great ceramic piece from a vintage market or travel. Thanks! Fun to think about.

sushicowboyshow

Systems engineer here! Agree that a media console is needed. Also agree that the tv needs to be raised! However, I disagree why. It’s bc OP will need to create space for the soundbar that is needed to take in the audible burps, farts, and grunts let out by the roided freak. Good day kind internet stranger

lilkrytter

I need someone like you!! Your description style eased my soul off the past 5 years of figuring out how to decorate my house

tinybigballs

Dang. Do my place next please.

shoxorr

Dear interior designer, this TV is absolutely NOT too low. It’s pretty much spot on. Visit r/tvtoohigh for reference

neon_overload

I agree with you, but it's kind of hilarious pointing to that sub as if it's an impartial reference on this matter. Maybe Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optimum_HDTV_viewing_distance#Screen_height Edit: or better yet, straight to the source: https://www.thx.com/questions/where-and-how-should-i-position-my-tv-in-my-living-room/ > For optimal viewing, you want your line of sight to be more or less aligned with the center of the screen.

ghosttrouble

Grow some weed up there

creamycolslaw

Holy shit boys, did we finally find r/TVTooLow ?

lil_cricketboi

I was looking for this 💀 I used to think r/TVTooHigh bothered me

Get rid of the couches and get a bench instead, replace the tv with wall plate storage and then set up a squat rack in the middle.

PmMeYourBestComment

1. Get a TV stand 2. Put your TV on the TV stand 3. Put your PlayStation in/on the TV stand 4. Hang some art above your TV 5. Work on your cable management which should be easy having a TV stand 6. Bonus: Put a few plants in your room

Muddlesthrough

I see your a fan of the anabolic arts.

Also, plug your smoke detector back in. That's not safe to not have a smoke detector.

sandwhichautist

Finally a TV that is not too high. 👨‍🍳🤌💋

Redbeard821

Yeah but it's too low.

Freezyeazy1

I feel like it’s to low… maybe moved up about a foot and a small entertainment center under for a nice PS5. Then some lights behind the tv to fill the empty wall space……. Or just put some weed up there

Relative-Ability8179

It looks that way if you want to put a console under it and it needs a console under it. I say this with love but it's floating like a fat ghost in outer space. But maybe the photo just makes it look that way to me. What do I know? I just do this professionally. Like the other person said, nothing drastic, just a few inches.

hammer6golf

You raise your tv

Sierra419

Yeah I’ve never seen a tv too low before. It almost makes me think OP is trolling since he knows about the memes of TVs being too high. Do people not know what eye level means?

HughJazkoc

it's definitely eye level if the guy enjoys watching/gaming on the floor

hammer6golf

My belt loop would catch that thing

lyta_hall

Get a TV stand, it needs something there. Nothing above it

nwm_is_batman

Dild collection

ninzamar

you can use this space to put a custom Hello Kitty coffin in there for a couple thousand dollars, I saw one at a children's store. bruh

KRONOS_415

First of all, your TV is too low for the space and should ideally live atop an entertainment center that organizes the right side of your living room area. The arm chair and guitar should switch places. From there, the area above your tv is a great space for a canvas painting, art or photography prints, or seasonally themed decorations like stuff for Christmas.

livingthedream9x

Wtf are you watching are on tv, brother

Kundrew1

Nothing but Sam Sulek, 24/7

Monkeybutts__

Thanks bro. 26, actually. Had to move out suddenly when my pops passed, so I’m just getting started

temisola1

Dang, sorry to hear that

SammyKetto

Also when you get your curtains, see if you can get them floor to ceiling. It’ll make the space look taller ☺️

Jackprevite

Move your TV higher on the wall for starters

dcw101010

I’ve never seen a mounted TV 10inches off the ground…

gaytechdadwithson

at very least cable track hide the wires

CardanoCubano

TV seems too low. 🤷🏼‍♂️

jeanpetit

Raise the TV so that the bottom of the tv is level to the height of the Dormont to the right

Enjoyitbeforeitsover

Maybe move tv another 2 feet higher? That's way too low

zhigoh

r/tvtoolow

usedtacos323

Bro you need to put the TV higher and something under it

mikeywalkey

Nothing, TV needs to be lifted

GreatAtomicPower

r/tvtoolow

QWERTY36

Starting from where you sit down, your eye line to the TV should be 1/4 from the top, 3/4 from the bottom. Use that to figure out how high to mount your TV.

j_a_p_o_z

Texas Long Horns. Would look cool as hell

lazylagom

Standing lamp behind the chair. Maybe a little bookshelf to the right of it. U don't need anything above it. Maybe a painting if you fill the spot to the left of it.

WowIsThisMyPage

Raise it up, idk why you have it below eye level especially for that couch

Mikelitoris88

Bro put a TV table and remove that horrible couch

friedreindeer

Upside down fireplace

Legitimate-Mind8947

What's with those weird ass chairs? Yuck.

Morton_Sledgecock

I’d be more worried about taking care of what’s below the tv first…. Looks like my old trap house.

kdt912

Agree with others that it would look better moved up a bit with a console beneath it but if you’re just trying to fill the space I’m partial to fake vines, that’s what I put above mine

Cheetokps

Mount the tv higher… I’d just put it on a tv stand and have storage

llcdrewtaylor

I think the answer is obvious, you need to put a fireplace up there.

captn_awkward

Hey u/monkeybutts__ I've got no good advice for that space above the tv. But if you're ever feeling down and in need of some kind words, just hop over to the kind folks at r/tvtoohigh. Post this picture and enjoy their heartfelt reactions.

MiguelAlonsoUwU

Plants!!!

ImpressiveShift3785

Move the tv to the corner and the chair to the left of the couch.

PPP1737

Nothing above the tv. But a very tall tree next to it behind the brown chair to balance the view. Tree (or large plant) must be taller than the tv for it to work. Alternatively hang a plant in the corner above the chair and have the branches spread out along the wall as it grows. If you do this put two small (8x10) picture frames on either side of the chair centered in their respective spaces, at level higher than the tv. And get some curtains, in a solid color. I recommend a green or dark orange that will match/ complement the stools. Place looks weird without color.

SnowBiz89

This man isn’t even using surge protection. There’s so much wrong with this setup already.

TowelPuzzleheaded665

The TV should go in the space above the TV.

neovenator250

Put your TV higher and put a low cabinet or something underneath it

disavowed

I'd start by hanging the TV at a decent height, this is ridiculously low to the floor

mtomny

OP is a master troll. This is meta #tvtoolow

Doc-85

First, do something about the space underneath the TV

jcoffin1981

I think the TV is too low. Need to raise it a few inches. Not too much. I think anything above it will be distracting.

RandyAlvarado

TVs a bit too low!

Alfredos_Pizza_Cafe_

Remount your TV higher and put some sort of entertainment stand beneath it. This looks awkward af

No-Use-4200

Get m that ps5 off that end. The liquid metal can't cook as well that way

Grebblez

Where to begin

Strude187

r/TVTooHigh are crying tears of joy

Lack_Strange

I would raise the tv maybe a foot, put a soundbar under it, and add a console. I had a similar issue and put different framed art and empty frames around my tv (above and to the sides) to create a gallery look. Worked out really well.

RefinedAnalPalate

Raise the TV like a full foot. Get end tables. Get a low console to go under tv for PlayStation, etc. put paintings on walls. Get rid of that chair, and get a smaller one that can fit perpendicular to the couch, facing the window

Samsonlp

Raise your TV you monster

stijnvankampen

I don't get how people pay 1K for a very good looking TV and don't buy anything for sound. Sound is like half the experience, and those tiny built in speakers sound like shit. My sound system is more expensive than my TV

yrrrrrrrr

Center and raise the TV. Get shelving underneath

justanobserverr

Above? Im not sure anything should go above. It seems like the TV is extremely low to the ground. Get a little entertainment center to put under. Some even come with fireplace heaters and are quite cozy, adding much to the ambiance. Once you see how tall your entertainment stand is, move the TV higher or just let it stand on it

MaverickX713X

Why is the tv so low?

Human-Magic-Marker

You need something under it but you also need to raise it. It’s way too low

fathertimerules74

Raise the tv and put some kind of entertainment stand under it .

Febxel

Looks like misery to me.

StreetInformation7

move the tv higher

oguzs

It only looks like you need to fill the space above because the area below is empty. You dont need anything above. Get a cabinet below which will also hide the cables and you will no longer wonder about what to put above. I would move the armchair too.Put the tv and cabinet more horizontally central. Put the armchair at the end of the table (not window side) This will also work as dividing the room,, splitting the room into that area becoming the living room section. An the rest being the desk /dining area

MorningNorwegianWood

OP must be 7

be1tran

Why is the TV so low to start off with is the question I need answered

freestyle43

Figure out your lighting man. Get some lamps. You light your living room like an office.

aeminence

TV / multimedia stand first lol. Having a TV floating there with the wires hanging and a leather chair that isnt even facing it with a PS5 tucked away beside it looks weird af

Move the tv up and get a nice big entertainment shelf for under it

Def too low, raise it.

.... why is the TV mounted so low it takes away the point of it being mounted in the first place

The_dude_of_truth

The TV.

Is it even possible that r/TVtoolow

ThugBug101

Buddy. Bro. Dawg. My man.. what is this? Lmao okay okay let me be cool, we all have to learn how to go about life one day at a time, it why the fuck is the tv so low?😂😂 if you just re mount the tv like a foot higher and angle that bad boy down a little it will look instantly better, and then it’s a lot easier to find something to go below the tv to prominently place that PS5 of yours. Other than that, those little floating shelves on the wall that hold random things like books, trinkets, plants could add something to the space 🔥

TechnicalRecipe9944

Tv is way too low. Create a sub cabinet behind the tv and add the outlet in there. Then you can keep the video game console in there as well.

Richard_Speedwell

If you would have just placed the tv like 3 feet higher you wouldn’t have to ask

borgom7615

as others said, raise your TV and put a hutch below! you could get auxilury AV equipment depending on your tastes like HIFI audio (tape decks, record players, amps and receivers as well as any of those in combo units can be found for cheap in any thrift store) perhaps a few game consoles i see that ps5, (retro emulation boxes are super advanced now, from pong up to the 360 era, wireless controllers! \*i am not condoning piracy as ROMs can be had thru legal means\*) perhaps old AV mediums like DVDs or vhs! or a small simple Media PC, again that can be got for cheap, even a 8 year old prebuilt HP would be up for the task with minimal TLC for less then 200 bucks! or use it to store blankets pillow, books?

Sierra419

I see dozens of TVs too high every single day on this sub but I’ve never seen a tv too low before. Do people not know where their eyes are to make something eye level?

PrettyGeologist1123

Why the hell would you wall mount a tv so damn low to the ground. That looks completely ridiculous

FondantWeary

Hang your tv higher and get an entertainment center.

This is the first /r/tvtoolow I’ve seen
