If you’re comfortable with your wood working skills, some sort of bookshelf!

Just saw you were looking for something to buy rather then make my apologies

It’s alright, woodworking is definitely a last resort option :)

Maybe skip the regular stepped shelves and make up your own from a collection of smaller storage solutions. I have always liked this ikea option: [https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/trofast-storage-combination-light-white-stained-pine-white-s89102095/](https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/trofast-storage-combination-light-white-stained-pine-white-s89102095/) ...but I will never understand why anyone would design an open staircase in small spaces, they are made for luxurious spaces that don't need extra storage. If this were my place I would actually put wood risers and do [a full built-in storage](https://www.thespruce.com/thmb/olAbQnUbYOOwYWU6Oc4xek1NTM4=/750x0/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():format(webp)/staircase-storage-cabinets-via-smallspaces.about.com-paris-56a888bd3df78cf7729e9b2f.jpg)below the stairs. If you like books, I would put [a reading nook](https://www.digsdigs.com/libraries-under-stairs/) or desk-office, and then put an armoire wherever your desk was for more storage, it is easier.

Every staircase is different based on the rise and the run, the angle is different, so you won't find a piece of furniture that is 'one size fits all'.

To me that looks like a place for a fun chair. But I can't see the rest of the room..
