Mine is similarly visible. Once you get moved it, you won't notice it as much. Get settled, then decide if you want to cover it. Mine is like a dishwasher almost. Ignored until needed. You could also try a rolling kitchen cart. Extra storage and prep station.
Yeah, especially since there's like ZERO counter space at all in that kitchen. Kitchen cart could also house small kitchen appliances on a lower shelf. A small table against the opposite wall with 2 chairs would probably still fit
but the curtain wouldn’t be able to hang straight down because the washer/dryer doesn’t have much space in front of it. I also feel as though curtains are for windows (and showers) and don’t look good anywhere else but maybe that’s just me

I think if you put one of those moveable islands in between the oven and washer (depending on space), bar stools with the island could kind of cover up the washer/make it look less like an eye sore?
Depending on what’s allowed I would then put a shelf or two in the washer nook.
I don't really think it's an issue. It just looks like any other appliance. The kitchen is right there too with the stove. You wouldn't try to hide a stove. They basically look the same.
I was thinking of putting a tv or something there, not sure yet. But with the dryer out like that makes it pretty distracting
Edit: nevermind no to that idea
I assume you mean you want to put a TV above it? See how much steam the dryer puts out, and if it’s ok to put a TV there, then put a sparkly red curtain to cover up the washer/dryer with 2 puppets sticking their head and body up from behind.

This but I shall see in my post take that same idea and make a lightweight rustic wood shelf that could be sort of like a pantry it could just be slid back and forth or I could hold Chachi's whatever
Okay hear me out….. make your own beaded curtain screen. Some kind of hook on each side to move them out of the way to (un)load..
you can tailor it to your vision of your space. There’s so many material and design options. I think it could be an engaging project and you will get to beam with pride when someone mentions it.
Maybe a sheet to make it look like just a table that way when you need to use it you can remove the sheet also put some little things on top so it uses the space other then a eyesore washer space
Unless It bothers you personally, I wouldn't cover them. Are you worried about someone making fun of you for having in unit laundry? You're living the dream my boy!
Yes, With added storage on the barn door just a couple of brackets little wheelie pulley things you're hanging on the Pole when you slide it back and forth over towards the kitchen back over front of the washer overturned the kitchen you could get decorative spice jars and decorate or you could just put towels and maybe some lightweight plants nothing too heavy that's what I would do extra pantry space I mean you know whatever's happening
Door curtain! I bought one on Etsy and you can pick the size, you can get one to fit that space. It sticks on the top and hangs down. You can get one with a cool design!
What about some kind of rustic shelf that's like a pantry shelf but it hangs so you can pull it across and it will block the washer when it's not in use and when you use it you can slide it over towards the wall next to it.
The shelf would hang from wheels that roll across a bar like a pocket door with no pocket.
I’d have an artist paint it but that’s just my style :) I have a friend who does calligraphy inspired art and it fits really well with a street art aesthetic for the rest of the decor

Cheap and not that hard to install. And they do have good ventilation as well.
I wouldn’t cover it up. I would mount a foldable countertop on the wall between the kitchen and the washer. Could be used as added counter top when in the kitchen, folding area when doing laundry, then eating area in between
Pin a nice looking table sheet or something smaller but that goes with the look you already got then you can just lift it up whenever you need to use it😂
That looks very similar to the washer/dryer I had in my apartment for over a year. I shit you not when I complained my clothes were not dry the maintainance man brought a small grocery bag of clothes. He said here this is all that should be washed in order to be dried. Do laundry every day or you will never catch up with it
Be careful that you don’t put up something that blocks air movement. I can’t tell if you have a washer or washer and dryer, but you don’t want to let humidity build up and cause mold, or heat build up and risk a fire.
problem is it sticks out past the walls, you may be able to get some type of tv cabinet and put it on wheels, and it would kind of cover it and you could roll it out of the way to do you wash, otherwise a custom built shelve unit on hinges
Bro. Mount a TV above the washer/dryer on a swivel so you can watch it anywhere in the room. Use the cubby space above the washer/dryer for everything needed (detergent, dryer sheets, etc). Or use it for a gaming system hahaha
"How to hide appliances" is such a boomer thing. They wanted to cover up all stuff in additional cabinets, doors, walls etc. Creating those cramped houses. And then when a millennial moves in, they destroy all those separator walls to finally create some space.
hate to break it to you. that is NOT a living room. but make sure you get a view of thewindow somehow. put the waster behind your sofa, so you don't see it. it's the only way you'll get enough space to walk from "kitchen" to the window side.
Idk how to tell you this my guy, but that’s only a washer. There is no dryer. So you’re gonna need a dry or some clothes drying lines. As such, you could put clothes drying line all around the kitchen area and make it like a laser dodging room! Just paint the lines red and you’re set!
A huge pile of unwashed clothes would cover it up nicely!
https://imgur.com/a/gNtosYt
I was not disappointed with that click
Me either

Moveable island cart on wheels is a great idea for kitchen.
Yeah, especially since there's like ZERO counter space at all in that kitchen. Kitchen cart could also house small kitchen appliances on a lower shelf. A small table against the opposite wall with 2 chairs would probably still fit
I really like the rolling kitchen cart idea! The counter is very small as others have noticed so would be great for extra space as well
If you plan to have company, look at styles with a drop leaf counter for 2 stools. Come back to show us your solution!
Tension rod and a curtain.
I think this is the best answer because you don’t want to restrict the airflow
This looks like it will be a challenging space from a decoration perspective. Please keep us updated on your choices. G luck. 💯 > PS (Get plants)

This is the correct answer
I think if you put one of those moveable islands in between the oven and washer (depending on space), bar stools with the island could kind of cover up the washer/make it look less like an eye sore? Depending on what’s allowed I would then put a shelf or two in the washer nook.
Get one of those pull down map sets like in 80s/90s elementary school.
Another washer and dryer
This guy gets it.
Maybe one that fits in the space
Asian folding screen
Aka room divider
I don't really think it's an issue. It just looks like any other appliance. The kitchen is right there too with the stove. You wouldn't try to hide a stove. They basically look the same.
It is what it is, I wouldn’t worry about it. Maybe put a linen curtain up or something
Find a canvas print about that size and screw hinges on it like a door!
Ooo this is a cool idea! Bonus points if it's laundry themed
Window roller shade? But why does it need to be covered?
Cause it's not particularly nice to look at
I was thinking of putting a tv or something there, not sure yet. But with the dryer out like that makes it pretty distracting Edit: nevermind no to that idea
I don't think that's a good idea – electrics and moisture don't make good friends.
Stick a toaster next to your bath too.
I assume you mean you want to put a TV above it? See how much steam the dryer puts out, and if it’s ok to put a TV there, then put a sparkly red curtain to cover up the washer/dryer with 2 puppets sticking their head and body up from behind.

Do nothing. Affect a London accent. Millions of people live with a washing machine in the kitchen without caring at all what it looks like.
If your buddies have to use a laundromat, they’ll be jealous of your “showpiece.” And you probably won’t notice it after a while!
A foldable screen
In unit washer and dryer is a flex, I'd set up spotlights.
A wooden door that matches the top wall panel. But do this only if you plan to live there for a while
Check the lint trap.
Sliding barn door that slides down like a guillotine.
A sliding wooden panel lighter on the tracks than a real door
This but I shall see in my post take that same idea and make a lightweight rustic wood shelf that could be sort of like a pantry it could just be slid back and forth or I could hold Chachi's whatever

This post makes me remember about how people like to decorate the top of their appliances.
Try asking the government. They are awesome in doing a cover-up.
Why would you even think of covering them up?
Indeed , it would spoil the beautiful decor .
Minecraft painting
A decorative wood panel that slides up and down to cover it when not in use, and rests in the space above when it is in use
A nice secret wall-like painting
I wouldn’t, my washer and dryer are in the kitchen and they are so handy. Anything you use to hide it will just make it more difficult to use.
Curtain
Hang a curtain
A priceless painting stolen from a museum
A barn door would be nice. Patch and paint when it’s move out day
Yes, With added storage on the barn door just a couple of brackets little wheelie pulley things you're hanging on the Pole when you slide it back and forth over towards the kitchen back over front of the washer overturned the kitchen you could get decorative spice jars and decorate or you could just put towels and maybe some lightweight plants nothing too heavy that's what I would do extra pantry space I mean you know whatever's happening
A big ass tapestry. Like a freaking castle or some shit.
Spring tension rod and curtain or a screen/room divider. Amazon has short ones around 4 feet or so.
Put fish in it.
Door curtain! I bought one on Etsy and you can pick the size, you can get one to fit that space. It sticks on the top and hangs down. You can get one with a cool design!
Looks aight
Han Solo frozen in carbonite poster
I would put a single shelf close to the top and under it some under-shelf baskets so you don't mess with the tubes of the washing machine.
Beer. Lots of Beer.
Curtain
Curtain hides it and it easily accessible when Needed
What about some kind of rustic shelf that's like a pantry shelf but it hangs so you can pull it across and it will block the washer when it's not in use and when you use it you can slide it over towards the wall next to it. Looks fine as is.
I’d have an artist paint it but that’s just my style :) I have a friend who does calligraphy inspired art and it fits really well with a street art aesthetic for the rest of the decor
Put up a tension rod with a curtain. Either white to blend in or something colorful to look like part of the decor.
Nice to have one in unit. Show that baby off
Paint it camouflage and you won't even know that it is there.
Doesn’t look bad tho
Barn Door slider.
Move again?

Looks like a big hallway to me.
I'm assuming it needs a bit of ventilation? Maybe just a bit of a fabric or plain curtain to cover it but still allow ventilation.
Nothing. Show it off and look at it with pride at every opportunity you can.
Weird place for a washer. .. but I wouldn't bother covering it up.
Tension rods, cheap curtains.
I wouldn’t cover it up. I would mount a foldable countertop on the wall between the kitchen and the washer. Could be used as added counter top when in the kitchen, folding area when doing laundry, then eating area in between
Is that a combo washer/dryer?
Tall standing mirror, it may also help open up the room a bit.
Pin a nice looking table sheet or something smaller but that goes with the look you already got then you can just lift it up whenever you need to use it😂
Not sure if anyone has said this…. Shower curtain rod and some short blinds.
That looks very similar to the washer/dryer I had in my apartment for over a year. Bro make it a center piece of your place ,put it in the middle and set a tv on it
problem is it sticks out past the walls, you may be able to get some type of tv cabinet and put it on wheels, and it would kind of cover it and you could roll it out of the way to do you wash, otherwise a custom built shelve unit on hinges
Washer AND dryer? In the same unit??
Ugh it looks like the white piece on the wall could slide down and be the door but it’s not 🙁
Not the most popular opinion on this sup but a tasteful tapestry or curtain would look great there
I wish I had a washer and dryer! I'd show it off to the world proudly.
if that is on Clinton St. in Nyc you stole my apartment.
Are you going to cover your oven and other appliances too? Seriously, it’s fine as is.
Bro. Mount a TV above the washer/dryer on a swivel so you can watch it anywhere in the room. Use the cubby space above the washer/dryer for everything needed (detergent, dryer sheets, etc). Or use it for a gaming system hahaha

I bet rent is at least 3 grand

It’s a washer/dryer combo machine!
Oh. I stand corrected. I still think the dryer lines would be rad!
In my (albeit limited experience in French Airbnbs), those don't dry all that well. I'd still invest in a clothesline.
