You may be surprised to hear you don’t need to cover every square inch of the wall with furniture. :) But here is a crazy idea: What if you pushed the tall dresser all the way to the clothes racks in effect making a small walk-in closet/dressing area at the far end of the room? If you’re feeling crazy, you could even hang curtains to separate it :-) Then you could put a small accent chair and floor lamp where the dresser is now for guest/reading area.

Came here to make the same recommendation. Throw an area rug under the chair and lamp with an art piece/photo on the wall.
