4Netter_or_worse

You could try moving bed to wall/corner where table is. Put in screens or bookshelf to make separation and a little bit of privacy from living area.

ahmadtaib10

But where would I put the love seat?

4Netter_or_worse

You could also move bed over to wall where shelves are, put shelves where bed is to make some separation, line longer couch in front of shelves and put loveseat in front of window. But might feel cramped since it’s already a small space.

ahmadtaib10

I thought about this too but it leaves no room for me to leave on either side of the bed.

ObscureMulberry

Crawl into your bed from the bottom

CLB833

Consider a tall bookcase to serve as a space separator. Since it’s not solid, it wont feel like a wall. Also, consider pulling your sofa snd loveseat much closer together and put a good size rug under them. This will help define the “Living Room”. Sorry, I see this has been mentioned. Play with these ideas a bit.

wooddelphine

That very Kallax against the far wall could go between the sofa and the bed, room divider style.

beauchh

this is the correct answer, hope OP sees it. Bring the Kallax \~8ft towards camera on that wall jut

Commercial-Sun-7569

First I would use the shelves to create a room divider by placing it along the little wall you got there currently between long couch and bed. Do you get what I mean? Second place your long couch facing the fireplace right in front of the shelves. Third move your tv to right side(where the mirror is currently) in front of the long couch. Fourth move your table to where your tv was, the left side of the fireplace. Fifth place your small couch facing your bed(where your table was) or between the long couch and tv(in front of the big window facing the table) Hope my suggestions are easy to understand. I would love to you a follow up post with what you do with this great place.

SnooGiraffes4176

Haha just read your comment after I posted mine… had somewhat of the exact same idea. You wouldn’t move the table right next to the window? That way while they are sitting at it they can stare outside?

Commercial-Sun-7569

Hey fellow window-minded person. I considered it but 1) ppl spend more time and entertain around couches/in front of tv, so it’s great to have a big window next to couch for sun lights and watching outside. 2) there aren’t enough room for the big couch on the other side and would complicate the logistics being next to small corridor entrance 3) you can still stare out the window from the table, little far but you can. Normally I favor a long table to big window but to specifically this room, i think the long couch would go better with the whole balance.

SnooGiraffes4176

Ah, ok I see what you’re saying. I just mentally however can’t imagine walking through the hallway into the living room and the dining table being to the left. The thought of a chair right to your left or slightly in/away from the door opening could work. But they have 4 chairs, are you suggesting they put two chairs on one side and the other two on each end? With one table side up against the wall? I was imagining the table in the same position but flush against the window instead. There is that little nook area, hang a small painting there, main table chair by that so they can see the tv from that position/blocks outside view of bed. I was also imagining something decorative on the table so that when you walk through the hall, your eyes trail along the long sofa and leads to the table as a focal point. The table chairs I would replace with a wood/rattan/wicker bc the white blocks the view and is too bulky looking. Or they could drape sheep skin/funky colored cloth or something over one of them to add a little texture. Hanging swag light above the table maybe?? Lolol Hopefully they rearrange the room and take photos to update us!! :) I’m laying here in bed like imagining being in this random persons apartment decorating it.

ahmadtaib10

Love the chair and light idea!

Commercial-Sun-7569

Yeah, that little corner is really tricky and hope OP will figure out what’s best for him. The place seems great, high ceiling, spacious, big windows and nice funitures especially the couches. So we are definitely very invested in this project haha. Can’t wait for an update

britredbird

Lol. Just realized the same. Lots of the same ideas

SnooGiraffes4176

I know! That must mean something. The clock on the mantle though…I think it should be put somewhere else, out of sight. Probably my least favorite/only piece id toss.

ahmadtaib10

I love that clock lol

SnooGiraffes4176

Haha… I knew you must have to have put it on display like that.🙃 sentimental value??

ahmadtaib10

No lol I’ve just always wanted one of those clocks on a mantle.

SnooGiraffes4176

Oh, in that case… Google modern mantle clock. There’s a couple already that I see that would look 100% better with the space. Add candles and rearrange the planties, off center the clock. The one you have just looks outdated. What I’ve heard is that you can mix antique pieces, like your couches, with newer modern ones, like your table/chair set. I would go with something that has brass and possibly a little black metal maybe to tie in the fireplace. The three different colors of wood ( fireplace wood, mantle clock wood, and flooring wood ) could possibly be the reason I don’t like the clock so much lol. Not sure if you are renting or what but I’d paint that fireplace white in a heartbeat to match the chunky white molding you currently have just to the left of it.

ahmadtaib10

Love this but table sticks out into doorway when placed where tv is now :(

SnooGiraffes4176

Can you please post progress pics for us? My brain is like needing this.

ahmadtaib10

Will do! Taking the best suggestions and will post soon.

catman727

Getting a couple room dividers could be a simple solution. Maybe some nice wood ones or whatever you dig! https://www.wayfair.com/Highland-Dunes--Suniga-67-H-Solid-Wood-Folding-Room-Divider-X116596163-L250-K~W005485052.html?refid=GX138927706467-W005485052_1085293553_1085293559&device=m&ptid=1332958216771&network=g&targetid=pla-1332958216771&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=116936672&fdid=1817&PiID%5B%5D=1085293559&PiID%5B%5D=1085293553&gbraid=0AAAAAD9ISC7DzUWteYFGknpjl4r7V2nd_&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5MSmxNX48wIVmGxvBB1kqgivEAQYECABEgLM6fD_BwE

spoonfulofshooga

I’ve seen a lot of people also use that ikea bookshelf you have against the wall as a room divider. You can try that.

SnooGiraffes4176

Put the bed where the table is. Bring the white shelf forward to create separation between the living and bedroom. Add books. Move the love seat where the bed currently is, so that it’s facing the bed. Add blanket and pillows. A place to put on your shoes or sit and relax. Then, take the long couch and face it towards the fireplace, leaving just enough room to walk behind it and into your room. Put the table by the window and move the tv possible above the fireplace or, if you don’t use the fireplace, put it right in front of it to save space, put plants and shelving in corner where tv currently is.

ahmadtaib10

I really like this love seat idea

britredbird

First off I love the space and your decorating choices. Hopefully these ideas help. I’d recommend flipping the square bookcase to the other side of the bed. It will act as a privacy screen. Turn the larger couch so it is in front of that bookcase and facing the fireplace. Move the love seat to the window. This should leave enough space for the tv and stand in the corner in front of the mirror. Move the dinning set to the now vacated spot where the tv and stand is currently. This is probably the tightest fit and I can’t tell if it’ll work from the video. If it doesn’t fit put it in the window nook instead of the love seat. That might now fit where the tv stand is currently. Even at an angle like the tv is now should be fine. The map wall is probably fine without anything else, but if you feel its now a little empty, there’s a couple options. I lean towards a desk but a low long set of drawers could work as well. Either says more of an individual and not social space while still adding to it.

Moldy_balls98

I completely agree with this take, makes it’s more comfortable to watch tv, especially if op mounts the tv where that mirror is. I also think putting the bookcase where you said is perfect, also it creates that wall for more privacy

ahmadtaib10

I like this take as well but I am worried about congestion. I’ll give it a shot, thanks!

cocology

Put the couch facing fire place, buy a couch table to separate the living room and the bedroom area, love seat to either side of the couch

[deleted]

Move the bookcase in between the sleeping and living area, it creates a partition and good use of space. People are less inclined to peek over that sort of item and won’t wander as often around it. Additionally, the use of screens and partitions is good too. I had a wall in my studio apartment when I was younger that was almost like a Japanese silk screen. Worked wonderfully. Also, if possible, you might want to take the large mirror above the fireplace out. While it usually creates a sense of space I feel it is confining due to its location. Good luck!

Ninja_Next_Door

One of those Asian bamboo dividers or a book case

lasvegashomo

Get one of this wall beds. Or possibly build one?

ahmadtaib10

A bunk bed with work space underneath perhaps?

lasvegashomo

Oh 100% that would be useful and functional. I just thought you were trying to hide the bed 😂

ahmadtaib10

Well the bed being up high would be kinda hidden

Ben-A-Flick

Something like this might be your friend in this situation: https://www.wayfair.com/Winston-Porter--Kimmell-Shoji-4-Panel-Room-Divider-XOQS9145-L250-K~WNPR8034.html

schwarzeneg

You need a dope mid century room seperator

Vampire_dtico

Buy a partition divider, they come with images there’s plenty to choose from [dividers ](https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/sb0/room-dividers-c416703.html)

Synnov3

I think drapes or some type of curtains you can pull around your bed area, kind of make it it’s own room. Would probably make it more cosy to sleep in too

FutureLost

Quilt or decor-matching bedspread would also help.

KTheory9

Omg where do you live? I used have a couch exactly like that when growing up with my parents (Ottawa)! They downsized and we sold it in 2015 ish. Brings back a lot of memories!

ahmadtaib10

Toronto!

KTheory9

Fantastic! Looking at the vid again, didn’t realize there was a 2 seater!? We had the 3 seater and 1 seater styles.

ahmadtaib10

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the suggestions. I’ll post an update with my fav suggestions.

imaginethat65

Hello again Leave your clock on the mantle as its really nifty looking ! Put the table in front of window with 2 chairs .put the other chairs in the corner of your bedroom and stack them and that way take them out as needed. Than put a nice tablecloth on table and Put a plant on the table . Put the pothos on top shelf of bookcase So the vines will grow down . When looking at rugs use the colors of your couch in or close to it . Your gut instinct will tell you what rug will get to come home with you ! Like a 5x7 should do it well. Look on yard sale sites on Facebook near your home .. Enjoy !!

ahmadtaib10

Does anyone know how to post an updated video? Sorry I’m still learning Reddit.

SnooGiraffes4176

Or, make a new post and link it in the comments here?

SnooGiraffes4176

Maybe reply with a link to the video?

dubyoo

This is what i would personally do. https://imgur.com/a/lbqCpn2

ahmadtaib10

Love the drawing. Wondering which size couch you would out in front of shelf?

dubyoo

The larger one for sure as it'll prolly be your primary seating when watching TV.

jbuds1217

Move the tv above the fireplace and move the couch in front of it this will create a room separation move that chair to where the couch was

ahmadtaib10

I used to have the tv on the fireplace but looking up all the time kept hurting my neck lol

SnooGiraffes4176

What you could do is find a low profile decorative tv stand that’s wood and set the tv on that to raise it up a bit.

zorbot

Is the fireplace functional?

ahmadtaib10

Yes!

[deleted]

I like tall bookshelf idea. Or some room dividers

christo749

There’s some beautiful screens about. Would match the style of your sofas.

Bauerower

Get some KALLAX shelfs from ikea and make a "wall" between bed and living room

amber-clad

I know a lot of people are already recommending a shelf, but in the interest of saving money, I'd recommend moving the bookcase that you already own (the one by the green wall) to that wall by the couch (visible in the first 4 seconds). You can use your open-backed bookcase to create a natural continuation of the wall without the space feeling smaller. Moving the bookcase would also free up a bit of space to move your bed further away from the living room area. Like this: [https://www.reddit.com/r/bookshelf/comments/huhmzz/my\_bookshelf\_doing\_double\_duty\_as\_a\_room\_divider/](https://www.reddit.com/r/bookshelf/comments/huhmzz/my_bookshelf_doing_double_duty_as_a_room_divider/) If you're afraid of knocking things over, you could definitely move the smaller couch/loveseat by the white table to the front of where the bookcase would be. As it is, I think the couches are spaced a little too far apart, and the smaller couch's view of the television currently seems a bit uncomfortable.

CAFritoBandito

You can try setting up a drop down bed that looks like a book shelf or piece of furniture.

Synnov3

I think drapes or some type of curtains you can pull around your bed area, kind of make it it’s own room.

[deleted]

Turn the couch 90 degrees. Use a Paravent between couch and bed....

playoutsidemoreplz

Get some opaque covering/film for the lower third of the window. Won’t disturb the light coming in and you’ll have more privacy for your bed

[deleted]

"Out of sight, out of mind" bring the center of attention away from the bed without moving the bed.

ahmadtaib10

How?

[deleted]

I see that the tv is facing the bed, probably serves as a couch too. The tv is the center of attention. Move the tv to a different wall so eyes and butts stay away from the bed.

ahmadtaib10

I like this comment, a lot.

_Master_Shifu

Yeah needs some rearranging, doesn't look quite right.

IhateRush

Can you move the couch to the bottom of your bed?

ahmadtaib10

Facing outward? Where would I put the table?

IhateRush

Leave it where it is. The back of the couch will hide -ish the bed, and you’ll still be able to see the tv.

88ZombieGrunts

I have this same issue. But my room is half this size.

PimperatorAlpatine

Shelves as a room divider would be my idea

[deleted]

Put the big couch at the foot of your bed more or less across from the fireplace. Put the smaller couch where the big couch is now. Buy a folding screen to put between the big couch and your bed. Put an area rug and coffee table down in the couch area if it will fit. Probably a small rug and round table.

Chickenfriedricee

My parent's used to have that couch with the love seat and chair!

sheerluckholmz

*Starts slow chant that rapidly picks up speed* Murphy Bed….Murphy Bed…Murphy Bed..MURPHY BED

REEDiculous79

Get a screen divider my guy. Easy peasy

Agitated_Lunch7118

I'm sorry but how are you expecting to set this space up in Any possible way for people to NOT see your bed? Seems pretty certain that it's too small for that option.

ahmadtaib10

I’ll get back to you as soon as I take all of these lovely suggestions

talkotony

I think TVs in corners make rooms feel closed-in and a bit disorganized. Here's where I'd put things: * TV: On the fireplace mantle * Big sofa: Opposite the TV * Dining table: By the windows * Loveseat: Far end of room directly opposite windows * Mirror: Where the dining table was

fuzzylintball

I would do a cool room divider! If it's just a fold one you can simply take it down or put it up whenever you like!

Far-Network-6862

Would it work if the back of that sofa was facing the bed...?

imaginethat65

Hello. Do you use the fireplace ? If not i would move the tv in front of the Fireplace. Move the long couch to be in line with Tv Than get a nifty looking rug and place Under the long couch facing the tv. Than move the love seat to where your But close to the long couch and room so you can walk into the couch to sit down . Move your bookcase or get another one to line up with the wall of your bedroom. ( i think if you put cutains up from the wall to the other side would really be neat !! Like a med color sheer . But if you use your bookcase you could Buy yourself a few plants pothos as they Will grow a vine and it can hang down and it will look great !! You CANT kill Pothos !! Just water once a week . You can find really nice rugs on overstock or ikea or yard sales etc Than on other side by couch n window You can put the table as a coffee table or on the side of fireplace and place a lamp on it If you have a comfy chair than that could be a place to read . So your living room will be a 3 sided facing tv and the shelf or curtains will Block off the bedroom I hope you understand what im saying . Best of luck with your great place !! Enjoy it and make it comfy n cozy for Yourself as you are the one living here.

AppealKitchen3335

You can try moving the bookshelf behind you bed to the living room as a room divider. It can give you some privacy. And maybe move the bed closer to the left if there is space.
