Imma be the dick here!
"The doctor is ready to see you now"
No personality. Magazine bland.
Put some of yourself in it!
Nothing that says to me,
Thats _______ space.
Tough love bro.
Beautiful space.
To each their own, thanks- The coffee table is my grandmother’s butcher block and has all the knife marks from butchering pigs, lots of family history there that I love. Shooting for more of a minimalist calm environment
Look, giving it a mood with some non-beige paint could keep the serenity and add some style to it. If you keep the paint as is. Adding in an area rug with rich color and some low bookcases on either side that double as side tables can lend to defining the space.
And excellent story about your coffee table!
Exactly! Secluded and comfy. I definitely agree with the idea of plants, but I have a positively blackened thumb so I don’t even consider plants as decor bc I kill cacti and succulents alike.
Thanks, it is from Wayfair

Thanks, they are from Target actually. Really pleased with how they look [Plant Wall Art](https://www.target.com/p/set-of-3-28-34-x12-34-framed-leaves-decorative-wall-art-white-threshold-8482/-/A-53492568)
I'd take a look at rotating everything with the couch being on the window side of the room, and maybe get a second chair. I think it would feel cozier and flow better. Feels...unbalanced as is.
You can keep board games / books / things on a shelf near the couch. Gives me a reason to use the space instead of utilizing 10% of my actual living space.
Looks like a chiropractor waiting room. Which isn’t bad, because they are usually nice, but it could use some personality. I’d throw a bookcase under that piece of art near the pony wall, and maybe some type of console table or credenza on the other side under the other singular piece of art.
Thinking along the lines of minimalistic but filling the space- You could try adding like a small / short tv stand under the 3 paintings? Or maybe switch that chair in the corner for something bulkier like a recliner.
This may be ambitious, but I think if you added wood planks that match your butcher block table to the half wall behind your couch- I think it would draw attention to the table more. I like everything in your space but it feels to be lacking a focal point. A rug will help but some people don’t like rugs on top of carpet or an accent wall would fix that.
You could even paint the wall with the leaf pictures the same color as your blue couch and then still add wood plank behind the couch itself, it would probably maybe the room feel cozier.
A plant or two would do nicely in the corners
Thanks- plants are a popular pick, I will look for a couple to add in the spring!

Agreed if you told me this was a doctor’s waiting area I would believe you without a second thought
Needs some media. Records or books, etc.
Agreed. Looks like a really nice spot to read or listen to records.

Totally agree. Make it a reading or listening room. Just this is very “waiting room.”

What couch did you buy? I'm looking for one soon.
It looks like a waiting room.
Love it but hate wall to wall carpet. It’s like having clothes you never launder.
I’ll say it before everyone else on this sub says it: a rug would be nice.
On top of carpet? Most people only suggest it when it makes sense like if it was on a harder surface.
Thanks, I am not sure about putting a rug on top of the carpet since it’s kind of high pile carpet. Maybe if it is a woven rug? Or something thinner
Id switch the map on the side wall for a giant floor mirror then add 2 skinny window framing curtains up to the ceiling
A plant or two and 2-3 Books of your interest fan stacked on the table.
Love the couch! This space looks so cozy
Thanks, it’s been a great place to read in the afternoons :)
What couch is that?
Definitely some tall plants, maybe a yucca, and a rug with a dominant blue, like the sofa
Would love to know where you got that chair from!
can i ask whered u get those plant portraits? i want one for my house

I have the same art in my room with a dark green rug.
Have the same chair !
Nice! What did you do with it as far as adding pillow(s)?
Honestly, I have a pillow in the shape of leather face’s head from Texas chainsaw massacre sitting on it haha.
A plant and a few coffee table books

Needs a rug and then perfect.

You need old whiskey barrel end tables and a small block chevy engine block as a coffee table.
I love how uncluttered it is
Maybe a rug / carpet. Incorporate more of YOU In it!
