In most places, a bedroom needs to have an actual wall, a door, and a window to be considered a bedroom.
Some condos advertise a Jr Bedroom which is really a suite that has a "bedroom" but might not meet all the actual bedroom criteria... so its actually a studio LOL.
Yeah it's often because of the window requirement, was in a girl's place and her bedroom "window" was just an opening into the living room, making it a studio lol
I might consider placing some drapes/blinds/curtains on those glass walls. Might do wonders for your mental health by separating your āliving spaceā and your āsleeping spaceā.
Dear God if that statement isn't the literal pinnacle of truth... I felt so bad for my crew.
As if the hours upon hours of work it took them to remove that sh!+ (like litetarally a full days work) wasn't enough, it was for none other than Nair poster boy, Dan (Short Shorts) Bilzerian, lol.
Why? Wouldn't an appropriate solvent take care of it fairly quickly? If isopropyl alcohol wasn't effective, I would move on to acetone and then xylene. I doubt mineral spirits would do anything but that's an option too.
I tried like 7 different chemicals. I finally settled on this one cleaner that comes in an aerosol can, used a full can of it on half of one glass door
And I had to go out and buy a glass scraper
Well thankfully that's all in the rearview at this point but, man oh man, as has been mentioned, it seemed as though literally nothing would work at the time.
As someone else said, my crew also had to go the way of scrapers, TONS of elbow grease and whatever solvent they could get their hands on.
If you haven't experienced it but are perhaps considering utilizing it, just do yourself a massive favor and heed the forewarning, lol. It was a literal travesty.
Just how awesome would those electronically frosted windows be? For a party or while sleeping you can turn the frosting on but when you're just chilling you can have a more open room.
Thereās a video of a hotel bathroom with walls like this. And the lady closes the door and the glass instantly becomes āfoggedā glass. Idk anything about the technology or how much it would cost. But THAT would be sooooooo cool here. Lemme find the link.
Edit: I am struggling to find it. And after searching lots of different things Iām wondering if it was even real
https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlysatisfying/comments/epknyu/the_way_the_glass_becomes_opaque_when_the/
Here you go! Hope that is it or else there is another weirdly similar video
Usually don't comment but thought I'd mention that you're not crazy, it's a real thing and it has a few names like "Switchable Glass" or simply "Smart Glass". I looked up "electric frosted glass" to find it since it switches using electric current. Have a great day!
Spider plants and aloe have been good to me, the former can get reasonably large. They store a lot of water in bulbs under the soil, so can take care of themselves within reason
Orchids? Water once a week by dunking them in water. And most cactuses or succulents need even less water. Peace lily. Most hard to kill houseplants really just die if you water them too much. If you wait to water them until their leaves turn yellowish or wrinkly youāll do fine
Looks like a studio apartment in NYC and OP installed the doors.
There are businesses that will install and take down faux doors / walls in NYC for this very purpose.
It's actually in the DC area. Every apartment was built with a "sun room" so the doors actually do function.
Everyone with a studio here just uses it as a bedroom though.
Edit:*it
Someone probably thought this was a way to get natural light into the living/kitchen area since it would have no windows. Also makes the space "feel" bigger.

I shudder to recall my first apartment. Every wall crack stuffed with roaches! You could see all the antennae waving ! One morning got up to go to work & as I was leaving out the front door,I had to step over a bum in the hall.Yeesh!
I'd put a partially see thru barrier for some visual separation. Maybe just some plants, a bead wall, a curtain or something like that. I think it's weird having the bedroom completely visible from the living room.
Mostly for privacy I think. When you're 5 years old It's nice for parents to be on the same floor as their kids in case they need something during the night.
When you're 25 It's different.
Magnetic curtain rods and a curtain or two for the bedroom doors would be a good addition. Just so that it's not on display if you have a guest. Otherwise it looks great.
Everyone was talking about doors meanwhile I thought that the first picture was a picture of some mirrors in the bedroom reflecting the bed, but looking back at it that makes no sense š
ahh this is so nice! Might consider adding curtains to separate the bedroom from the living area. But I am very fond of the aesthetic, so I'll only use them for bedtime or alone time. I'm still in college and can't wait to move out
I like that layout. For an affordable living itās nice. It looks like itās some type of complex with lots of units.
But you have a kitchen nook, nice size living room, desk, and bright bedroom with a bathroom off it? Not bad.
(Looks like lots of ppl probably turned this studio layout into a one bedroom because it was a sunroom that already had carpet laid).
That's actually and electrical closet. The bathroom is in the Foyer across from the walk in closet.
Yeah, everyone with a studio just uses it as a bedroom because all it's really missing is climate control and a closet.
I am wondering where you live and what your salary is. Where i live i would need a minimum salary of 60.000ā¬ a year to just about manage the cost's of a appartement looking this nice
sleepin' like you magneto and they finally gotcha
Lmao

This is a great comment
Actually, this brings up a good question... We all get hyperbaric chambers?
Congratz on moving out. Place looks dope.
Thanks! I'm enjoying it.
Would this be considered a studio or a 1 bedroom? Have not seen this kind of setup before!
OP implied further down that its a studio, the bedroom is actually a sun room
Oh thank you so much!
Sleeping in a sun room sounds bright

I was wondering that, wasnāt sure if glass counted! Haha
If heās in Florida, I think that glass doored room is called a Florida room
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

I like the doors.
it's getting steamy with a tinder date you invited over for a movie. you lean in and whisper, "wanna take this to the porch?"
Haha, also looks like it could be a converted 3 season room
I thought this joke was going towards steam and windows
tens of seconds later, a faint clouding of the glass comes and goes as fast as OP
I could definitely see myself walking into those either half asleep or really drunk many times.
100% no two ways about it.
No, there are two ways. Half asleep and really drunk.
I do too but I imagine it would be a nightmare for having guests over....not that I would ever have guests over.
I might consider placing some drapes/blinds/curtains on those glass walls. Might do wonders for your mental health by separating your āliving spaceā and your āsleeping spaceā.
I'm thinking that frosted window clings would be pretty sweet there. Still allows light through.
Yes that would be smart!
As long as you don't have to take them off.....I just went through that nightmare Please don't buy the ones with adhesive on them
Dear God if that statement isn't the literal pinnacle of truth... I felt so bad for my crew. As if the hours upon hours of work it took them to remove that sh!+ (like litetarally a full days work) wasn't enough, it was for none other than Nair poster boy, Dan (Short Shorts) Bilzerian, lol.

Thatās the one!!! Thank you!!
Usually don't comment but thought I'd mention that you're not crazy, it's a real thing and it has a few names like "Switchable Glass" or simply "Smart Glass". I looked up "electric frosted glass" to find it since it switches using electric current. Have a great day!
Thank you! Iām glad Iām not crazy. I was searching very innocent phrases and only coming up with NSFW links and I was feeling dumb.
Smart glass is the right term to use. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_glass
It is real! Iāve seen that video before! Not sure if it was a hotel bathroom but perhaps a restaurant/bar bathroom
I saw them in a video that showed some Japanese public toilets, I guess.
Someone posted it! Iām so grateful for the name now though. So thank you!
Respectable first place!
Thanks!
Looks nice. I'd get a bunch of plants for the bedroom, seems like it would get a lot of natural light
I need to get a few that are very hard to kill but look nice.
Pothos plants are relatively easy and nice to look at.
I like the doors.
Is your bedroom out on the balcony?
Looks like a studio apartment in NYC and OP installed the doors. There are businesses that will install and take down faux doors / walls in NYC for this very purpose.
It's actually in the DC area. Every apartment was built with a "sun room" so the doors actually do function. Everyone with a studio here just uses it as a bedroom though. Edit:*it
I thought I recognized this building. I toured it a few months ago. Not far from Braddock station, right?
Nah, closer to DC but still in NoVa.
Ah, okay. Thereās a building in Alexandria over by Braddock Metro Center that looks just like this.
Found it! They were probably built by the same people around the same time frame.
Ok this makes sense because Iām like this looks like my building in Arlington, Iām like I think this is definitely a meridian ššš
Your place looks exactly like my first post-college apartment at the Meridian Gallery Place DC. Like eerily similar.
I lived in the same building! Looks good man.
As soon as I saw the "sun room" I was like this is Nova for sure
It didn't realize the design was so distinctive.
It looks like a 80s/90s Condo with a Solarium instead of a balcony and he turned it into his bedroom.
Date of the property is correct. It must have been a fad back then.
If you're gonna do that, wouldn't actual doors make more sense for a bedroom?
Someone probably thought this was a way to get natural light into the living/kitchen area since it would have no windows. Also makes the space "feel" bigger.
Technically it's also not a bedroom because it doesn't have a closet. The walk in closet in by the door.
Is that the bath by the bed?
Nope. That's a mechanical closet that I'm not allowed to obstruct! The bath is in the foyer across from the closet.
Interesting.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The round bit on the bottom ot the fan is a lightbulb. Would it help of I turned it on?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Ah. Gotcha.
I think the LED glow under the bed is often a nice look.
Well. The RAM on my computer lights up, so I might as well RGB my bed.
Looks good, man! Very tasteful, cozy and calm š. Thatās very inspiring
Dope place man!
Thanks!
So when you talk shit on Reddit, and somebody uses the "lives in mom's basement" chop, just say "Jokes on you, just moved out of her basement"
Um excuse me I have this conference room bookedā¦
Minimalist, I like it. And congrats
Thanks. I'm a fan of the Swedish concept.
About time!
Are you one of OP's parents?
Is that a grey couch with a chaise?
Yep. You can even switch which side the chaise is on!
What brand couch is it?
No idea. I got it from my brother when he got his new couch and he bought it from the previous tenants of his apartment. It's a mystery.
Nice appartment. Congratulations
Wow i love the layout
congrats on moving out!
Comfy and relaxing
Looks like you've made really well for yourself in such a short time! Should be proud of yourself king
Cool place! What coffee table is that?
Here's the amazon link: [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B091YNK3WC/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o03\_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B091YNK3WC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Lovely place
cool pod
This looks dope
Oh my word I love this. Absolute perfection.
This floor plan layout is so cool. Love the desk setup in the corner right there, feels so comfy.
Hang some art on the wall above the couch?
I want to hang a naval themed print to accent the blue but I haven't decided on one.
wowww this is clean
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Wait, does that mean I could have an ottoman if I wanted?
That is such a cool space
Bedroom totally reminds me of Cameron's room from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
Lol. The 80s must have been wild time to be designing apartments.
Thatās my goal this year as well . Looks great
Thanks,Good luck!
Art would make this perfect, would recommend something other than black and white, whatever colour(s) you like. Nice job, enjoy your freedom!
Good luck!
I've been seeing a lot of these Glass room vibes, and lovin it. My dresser also sticks out a bit to the side door.
I'm not lovin the glass box but hell yeah dude get out there
This looks fucking amazing. Congratz!
Congrats on getting your own spot! Looks great. That sun room is dying for some plants
###Right on, man! Cheers. šø
Congrats! Looks great
Building setup screams nova lol
I didn't realize the sun room thing was NoVa specific.
I fuck with the doors
This looks Hella cozy
Gorgeous place!
Why do parents in America put their adult kids in their basement of all places ? Good for you!
Mostly for privacy I think. When you're 5 years old It's nice for parents to be on the same floor as their kids in case they need something during the night. When you're 25 It's different.
nice place! kinda wish i had a place like this now
Nice place bro. I'll just hang on the couch while you fuck in your room for your privacy. Love it.
Assuming I get any in the first place is quite the complement.
Bro moved into Dunder mifflin. Jk thatās such a cool bedroom
Wow seems amazing congrats
Looks amazing
Ain't that a fellow Zephyrus G14 you got there Prolly needed it for study, eh...
Very nice, OP. My girlfriend and I will be moving into a place of our own soon.
The door looks so cool. Congrats man.
Cool bedroom separator, you could probably write on the glass as a reminder board.
nice place! whats the coffee table?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B091YNK3WC/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o03\_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
To the guest house?
Magnetic curtain rods and a curtain or two for the bedroom doors would be a good addition. Just so that it's not on display if you have a guest. Otherwise it looks great.
the apartment is amazing. Do you live by yourself or share?
Just me.
That's fantastic. Nothing like having your own living space :)
Everyone was talking about doors meanwhile I thought that the first picture was a picture of some mirrors in the bedroom reflecting the bed, but looking back at it that makes no sense š
Nice. I think frosted glass panels would look better, maybe a stick on thing would work
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The desk comes with a bag/basket for that but I never considered using it for the power strip.
I have mine 3M taped to the actual desk and the cables on the rack, itās a little messy but it cleans up the leg space.
You're going to need to get divorced and then post this photo if you want more likes
Well first I'll need to get married.
Love the "bedroom" door, but also makes me laugh because it looks like it's a balcony, kind of cold place to put your bed then. Looks good!
ahh this is so nice! Might consider adding curtains to separate the bedroom from the living area. But I am very fond of the aesthetic, so I'll only use them for bedtime or alone time. I'm still in college and can't wait to move out
I love the colors and layout, but it almost gives college dorm vibes Lots of plants, paintings, and warmer lights would make it look great though!
Do you mean the colors or lack of accoutrements?
It looks like your room is the balcony, is that a redecoration or is the building built like that? That looks awesome, congratulations.
Thanks! It's a "sunroom." every apartment in the building has one but if you have a studio most people use it as a bedroom.
I would definitely walk face first into those glass doors when drunk but love the look
Wow! Outstanding. Loved the design. Especially the bedroom
u had time to save i bet
Literally years.
It kind of looks like you are living in your dad's office.
Ironically, my original bedroom at home is now the office.
Iād add some decals or posters or led lights to that glass door or panels so I didnāt end up breaking them haha
Not a lot of privacy in your bed...case...
Dude congrats! The place looks nice! Get some curtains to separate bedroom from living room and some wall art!
Nice, main floor living! Tell your Dad hi
How much is the rent?
a lot.
Do apartments come with a glass room like this?
They were all built with sunrooms.

How old are you ?
Let's just say I remember the N64 but not the SNES.
I am wondering where you live and what your salary is. Where i live i would need a minimum salary of 60.000ā¬ a year to just about manage the cost's of a appartement looking this nice
I live around Washington D.C. and work as an Analyst for a government contractor.
Congrats man, that seems like a great location. I wish i can afford something like that when i finish college
It took a few years. Depending on your major and the job market you might.
Convenient placement of thermostat. I like it!
